***Today’s WeBuildTheWall / Fisher Industries posts***
    (Previous posts:

    – – – – –
    Friday night update – 3/6/20

    – Just posting prayer post today.

    – – – – –
***Praise: 🧱 (Project 1: May/June 2019)… WBTW/Fisher Industries was able to build a half mile wall up the side of a mountain in 11 days (with zero safety incidents), cutting off 19 major drug cartel trails, and closing off one of the worst areas along the border… (Began building over Memorial Day weekend in Sunland Park, NM., just across the Rio Grande from El Paso, TX.)
***Praise: 👍 (11/20/19)… DHS Secretary Chad Wolf & CBP Chief gave a huge endorsement to WeBuildTheWall while visiting Project 1. CBP Chief called it a “Game Changer”. It’s the only time CBP or DHS have ever endorsed a wall builder.
***Praise: 🧱 (12/2/19)… Fisher Sand & Gravel was awarded a $400M border wall contract to build 31 miles of wall in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge in Yuma County, Arizona.
(Fisher receives $268M of this $400M project)(Estimated contract completion date is Dec 30, 2020.) (2 days of posts here & here.)

***Praise: (12/4/19)… Brian Kolfage & his family were given the opportunity to visit the White House.
***Praise: While the Temporary Restraining Order(s) were in place, Fisher Industries and crews were still able to keep working on some aspects of Project 2 from the Dec. 5th hearing to Dec 12th (after which they were off for the holidays).
***Praise: (Jan 3)… Judge Crane lifted/removed section 8b from the TRO so that Fisher was able to continue to shave, grade, or cut the riverbank.
***Praise: (Jan 9)… Judge Crane lifted/removed the TROs from both the Federal government’s lawsuit (on behalf of the IBWC) and the North American Butterfly Association’s lawsuit (on behalf of Marianna Trevino-Wright’s National Butterfly Center) against Fisher Sand and Gravel Co.
***Praise: 🧱 (Project 2 complete: Feb 17)… Fisher Industries was able to build 3.5 miles of wall along the Rio Grande River in Mission, Texas. Project 2’s “water wall” design is the first border wall that’s ever been built inside the flood plain. (Not sure if they finished the planting/seeding of the last stretch of the river bank yet; perhaps they are waiting to finish during the optimal planting window for the area.)

***Praise: Fisher has taken the lead on Project 2, covering most of the money for the wall($22M bank loan; total cost is ~$42M). (Fisher plans to sell Project 2 back to the government for $14M per mile, or $16.5 million with 10 years of complete upkeep included.)
***Praise: 🔍 (Reported on 12/18/19)… Senator Kevin Cramer was able to complete his in-depth review of the USACE’s procurement process and send a letter with his findings and recommendations to President Trump on 12/6/19.
***Praise:🇺🇸 (12/22/19)… Brian Kolfage was awarded Patriot of the Year award by Turning Point USA at their Student Action Summit.
***Praise: (Reported on 1/22-23/20)… WBTW gained a major construction equipment company as a corporate sponsor & are looking for more. (See prayer below for specifics.)
***Praise: (Jan 22)… Rep. Warren Petersen’s (R-AZ) bill, HB 2084, making it easier to build border wall on private property in Arizona, moved out of the Federal Relations committee with 4-3 vote in favor.
(Feb 6)… The bill passed house on reconsideration with 31-29 party line vote. Next, it goes to the Senate.

🙏 Prayer for the work crews. 🙏
Heavenly Father, we pray in Jesus’ name:
    – for safety and good weather for the work crews as they work on Project 3 & 4; that they would be able to continue uninterrupted until completion.
    – for WBTW/Fisher Industries regarding the ongoing lawsuits; that the lawsuits would be dismissed.
(Feb 5)… Judge Randy Crane granted a 60-day extension to all parties. The three sides will reconvene on April 8.
    – that WBTW would be able to find corporate sponsors for Project 3. (They already have a major construction equipment manufacturer and are looking for a solar LED security lighting manufacturer or supplier.)

    – that the DoD IG’s office audit of the $400 million border wall contract which the USACE awarded Fisher Sand & Gravel would show everything is fair and above board; that the swamp in DoD and USACE wouldn’t be able to corrupt the process; & that Fisher would be authorized to proceed with the project as planned.

    – that Rep. Warren Petersen’s (R-AZ) bill,HB 2084, making it easier to build border wall on private property in Arizona would get passed.
(Jan 22)… Bill passed out of Federal Relations committee with 4-3 vote in favor.
(Jan 30)… The bill failed on the house floor as one Republican sided with the Democrats.
(Feb 6)… The bill passed AZ house on reconsideration with 31-29 party line vote. Next, it goes to the Senate.

    – for the bi-national summit with the Mexican IBWC and American politicians that WBTW will be hosting; for open lines of communication/understanding; and that WBTW/Fisher Industries would learn what they need to know to facilitate the sign off and approval of their projects by the Mexican IBWC.

    – for 100% safety/health/guidance/direction for the work crews, security personnel, legal teams, CBP, DHS, Army and all involved in Project’s 2, 3, 4, and other projects; and for WBTW/Fisher Industries as they work with private landowners to secure more property to build on
    – that work would go smoothly with continual, innovative improvements in method/process/efficiency and quality of construction; and with transitioning as they scale up capacity(manpower, equipment, etc.) to build larger projects
    – that there would be no outside interference (cartels, IBWC, courts/judges, protesters, swamp, etc.) and that if outside interference takes place that it would only work toward WBTW/Fisher Industries/USA’s benefit (exposing corruption, raising awareness, fundraising, etc.)

    – that Project 2’s wall will prove that WBTW/Fisher Industries can rapidly complete large sections of wall, with a superior build, at the lowest price
    – that this wall would prove that the design is sound and they are able to safely and effectively build it on a large scale in the Rio Grande Valley (Project 2’s “water wall” design is the first border wall that’s ever been built inside the flood plain)
    – that the federal government would provide funding for WBTW/Fisher Industries to build 250+ miles of wall on Private Property in Texas

    – that the Government would purchase all of WBTW/Fisher Industries projects so the funds can be rolled into future projects and Fisher Industries will be able to scale up with additional equipment and manpower as needed.
(This, in addition to ongoing fundraising from public/investors, will allow WBTW/Fisher Industries to continue to self fund projects, build their reputation/resume, while they continue to pursue other avenues which could lead to government contracts down the road.)

      The Coronavirus topic;

Some have hypostulated that Coronavirus was released to make Trump look bad, and so thwart his re-election.

This cannot be. There is too much time for economy to recover from a bad flu, and too much opportunity for Trump to figure out a way to respond, even if he is no epidemiologist.

So, I am thinking, since not much would surprise me anymore, that Coronavirus is a warm-up.

I would not be surprised if there was a bigger plan in the works. Maybe it hurts the economy. Maybe it is a flu bug that has a feature to where a prototypically good response, such as to Coronavirus, or Hurricane Maria, will still leave Trump looking bad.

Like: maybe you stay contagious for three weeks after you catch it. Or maybe instead of the powers that be shipping it from Canada to be released in China, it gets released in several places in USA on short timeline, so any response will “fail.”

An October Surprise only has to work for a short span of time. But for this plan to work, it would have to be set up to be clearly worse than Coronavirus, and set Trump up to look bad. Maybe on economic crash, maybe by setting him up with info to make him believe it was released by Iran, or China, hoping to get Trump to over-react toward such.

This is one time I hope the govt. steps up, intervenes in the marketplace and does some major encouraging for USA companies to produce our own drugs right here. This is a weak spot for the independence of the USA imo.

“There is no basis to question the work or good faith of these career Department lawyers.” Says AG Barr to Judge Reggie Walton. Is this guy morphing more and more into Chris Wray everyday or what? Actually, that’s not true Mr. Barr. There are plenty of reasons to question both the work and the good faith of most of the lawyers in your department. Didn’t you read the Inspector General’s report? Waste as much of the President’s time and term as you can, sir. That might be coming to an end pretty quickly.

Judge Reggie Walton is the guy who wants to the unredacted Mueller report. And the reason the Judge should read it? Because the DOJ is “protecting the President” with their redactions. This is BS.

In other words, your criticism of AG Barr is way off-base in this case.

The great coronavirus escape: 17 people under mandatory quarantine try to flee Hong Kong
Government reveals all escapees were stopped at border by immigration officers
Health secretary Sophia Chan repeats call for ‘self-discipline’ as two people are issued with court summons

Seventeen people under a mandatory coronavirus quarantine in Hong Kong tried to flee the city but were intercepted by immigration officers, health authorities revealed on Saturday.
Secretary for Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee said two people had been served with court summons, another seven cases had been handed over to the Department of Justice after investigation, and the rest were being dealt with by police and the Department of Health.
“We have repeatedly appealed for self-discipline, that’s very much needed,” Chan said, when asked if the latest figures meant there was a loophole in the monitoring policy.
She added that different kinds of checks had been put in place, with disciplinary forces patrolling residences, health officials making calls to people under quarantine, and staff from the Innovation and Technology Bureau doing location checks with their mobile devices.
“The border is our line of defence … immigration officers will intercept anyone under a mandatory quarantine trying to leave,” she said.

Chan said authorities had been monitoring the global situation, and assessing whether to further issue travel alerts beyond the ones already in place for South Korea, three regions in Italy, and Iran.
Risk assessment factors include the number and trend of cases in the country, the precaution measures launched, and the testing ability of local authorities.

On Friday, the Department of Health announced that from midnight on Saturday all inbound travellers arriving at the airport would have to fill in a health declaration form, extending a requirement that previously applied only to visitors from mainland China.

The initial hoarding has stopped though I see the same thing happening in other countries.

Here in apparently more sensible Ohio, no, nothing like that is happening, although the T.V. stations are trying to catalyze such a panic by showing us Washington state.

But so far, no. To be sure, the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Convention here was severely curtailed because of all the foreigners who visit (250,000 people attend over several days, many from out-of-town. But most people saw that move as politically correct ridiculousness.

    • Panic by media. When there is no plane crash, no train wreck, the media will manufacture that ‘fire in the theater’. Shakespeare could have added some journalists to his famous quote about lawyers. The word ‘pandemic’ comes from ‘pan’ as in Pan-America (across) along with ‘epidemic’ together. An epidemic across a geographic area. Most journalists would misuse the ‘pan’ as if from ‘panic’. A firing squad or hanging by rope would be fine with me.

Yes, I live in north Florida hand sanitizer is nowhere to be found for weeks now. No gloves or masks either. People at the stores have buggies loaded with water. One local store briefly ran out of flour of all things. So far toilet paper is still in stock, thank goodness! I have a teenage daughter and 3 granddaughters I babysit daily, we go through a lot of toilet paper.

I don’t know why people are panicking so, the media hype I guess. I figure if nothing else this coronavirus scare at least got people to stock up like they’re supposed to for hurricane season. So if we get hit this season FEMA’s job will be much easier 😉

Wife said today they are now rationing with signs saying “only 2 per person” for various items currently out of stock …
Been hearing stories of people stealing toilet paper and napkins from McDonalds, KFC and other fast food outlets. Yesterday an elderly man was tasered by police in Tamworth, New South Wales for fighting with customers and staff over toilet paper, which made national headlines.

I ask them that if there is truly a horrible pandemic in which thousands of their unprepared neighbor’s will be at risk because they have not adequately ‘prepped’,

“Will you according to your beloved socialist doctrine SHARE your supplies with them?”

“Oh, no? Well that’s interesting! What happens when they find out that YOU have prepped and have stuff that can save their lives and they come for it? Being that you live in very anti-2A NYS, it is too bad that YOUR government has determined for you that you essentially are not allowed to own firearms in which to protect yourselves and loved one’s with. Last I heard, there are numerous deaths of the virus in Washington, all of them emanating from a nursing home.

IF I were trying to cause a global financial crisis and panic in an election year, I would certainly start with the the elderly and feeble. So easy.

IF I were testing the virus for maximum impact, who would I test it on? The elderly, because their immune systems are already down.

I would also start it in WA. We KNOW there will be a knee-jerk response from the jerks in gubt there, and the Rs will always be blamed, especially President TRUMP.

Of note, not long ago, someone here at CTH told us that there has been a massive push and influx of hiring foreigners to work in nursing homes. People that have ties to other countries and their imported diseases.

That particular nursing home has a long list of complaints. Failure to provide proper care. Unfortunately, cess pools like that have existed for a long time. Venal people taking money and providing bad care.

You are ascribing the wrong type of malice to those deaths.

But the press are applying the malice you ascribe. That should be the major scandal. “Are your parents in a death trap?” Instead that is glossed over to attack Trump.

There is a small Walmart market nearby, I have been using this store as a measuring stick.
About a week ago I noticed they were short handed. I asked if people had not shown up that morning. Answer was “yes, things have been crazy”
Then, my last trip, a couple of days ago, there were no checkers at all.
No wipes, Clorox spray, or Clorox type cleaners. Empty shelves. No cases of water.

I imagine it will get even crazier since SXSW was canceled. (Austin, Tx)
Fiesta is still on the schedule for San Antonio. Biggest festival of the year.

My question is, what products will be difficult to obtain when demand runs up against the supply chain from China?
Is this why the stocking up?
Or is the stocking up due to concern of being forced to self quarantine for 2 weeks, like many have been asked to do?

It shows how desperate they are. Katrina was very localized. Housing economy was national. Coronavirus is global. Does fit a pattern of increase the crisis. They’ve had to make it global to get Trump. They have to wreck the global economy to get him. Does he have what it takes to withstand this? I stand with him and his tweets. And we pray big time for Rush and Lou. Probably his only national media champions.

And I am encouraged that the last Russia election hoax lasted barely 24 hours. We didn’t know what hit us last time and it took 2-3 years to end it, this time, 2-3 days. We are learning. And even though I don’t tweet, there is a bunch of our side folks who don’t take crap. It’s always the same 4-5 libiots/bots at top of his tweets and our guys and gals are tearing even them new ones. And quick too. The likes of Holder, Comey, Brennan, Page, etc Re getting it in spades as soon as their twits come out. I’m impressed. I am encouraged.

Excerpt FTA by Victor Davis Hanson: “The dissemination of sophisticated Western science to non-Western societies that lack advanced research centers may be increasingly suicidal. Borders are now considered passe in the age of globalization. But their enforcement reminds us that not all nations are alike. All sovereign peoples should have the right to take measures for their own safety well beyond the purview of the transnational elites.
Finally, is it wise or safe to allow hundreds of thousands of homeless to live crowded among filth, vermin, and squalor on the sidewalks of America’s major cities?
The coronavirus threat and the unfounded hysteria that has accompanied it will pass.
But the specter of a pandemic offers a timely warning to remember that we are not necessarily any more immune from volatile nature—and humankind’s paranoid response to it—than were the ancients.”

Another week has come to pass and as we wave bye-bye, take heart that the swamp is visibly freaking out. The overt corruption doesn’t work well when “We the People” are watching. Yellow Journalism is all they have, sensationalism, exaggerations(Lies). The vaunted MSM who elevate themselves as the keeper of truth have utterly revealed themselves as nothing more than stenographers for the swamp. Builder of the narratives to effect a result for their corporate masters.

Our Great President Trump must be stopped at all costs. The MSM is now truly earning their public trust numbers at around 32% down to 14% at least by a 2017 Gallup Poll. Almost 3yrs hence I would reckon they are even lower. Always look at polls with a jaundiced eye. They are a big part of the narrative constructs for corporate media. Do Not Trust Them!

“Gallup: “Americans’ Trust in Mass Media Sinks to New Low.” Now at 32% fueled by Republican slide to 14%”.

“Never interfere with the enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself. ” a paraphrase of Napoleon the Nexus of the quote in a more modern vernacular.

The role of kingmaker is being destroyed each and every day. Now their mission is to get Bernie Sanders and working hand-in-hand with the DNC, it looks like they will pull it off. Much to the chagrin of the Bernie Bros. The Big Club is sweeping him aside and replacing him with a doddering old fool, B-B-B-Biden whose politics are just like Bernie’s, Bernie just tells the truth. Now you begin to hear those glowing, focus group tested words like; reasonable, moderate, a man who knows how government works — in the center. When in truth Biden is as much a barking Bolshevik as Bernie, he just lies about it, of course with the help of the MSM.

To me, one of the greatest achievements of our Great President Trump is exposing the MSM as the frauds that they are. Yellow Journalism = Fake News. As we can now see the politicians with clarity and understand the “Big Con” act accordingly, don’t watch. As 11/3/20 approaches they are going to be losing their minds, great fun.

KAG! …by understanding our swamp enemies they are legion. “Forewarned is forearmed!”

The FBI defines HVEs as global jihad-inspired individuals who are in the United States, have been radicalized primarily in the United States, and are not receiving individualized direction from a foreign terrorist organization…

    Senator Rand Paul
When I asked James comey after the Pulse mass shooting if in retrospect the FBI concluded too soon that Mateen was not a threat. The arrogant Comey refused to admit any mistake & maintained the opinion that Mateen was not a threat. Comey: tell that to the 49 people who died.

However, if the Times is promoting Biden with these Sander’s hit pieces, it would suggest that on balance, we’re pro “Bernie.” My take is that anything that hastens and exacerbates the differences within the Dem party (and the Repub party for that matter) is a good thing because we need reformed or new parties to better represent Americans today.

One of the anti-Trump narratives is that he “cut the CDC in 2018” and “cut the pandemic response team” and has therefore “sabotaged our coronavirus response”.

I read an article at Foreign Policy and it strikes me that what PresTrump cut was mostly FOREIGN pandemic response – like in frikkin Africa,

Trump Has Sabotaged America’s Coronavirus Response

Cutting back the bureauacracy that had been ramped up for ebola a couple years ago, is what I suspect. (Obama was still in, so it must have been 2015-2016 that resources were ramped up)

Y’know what? I’m not too upset at that.

Just like NATO, why should the US be on the hook for the lion’s share of expense and manpower?
    In Africa?

Africa is in the EU’s backyard and was EU’s colony and plantation for couple hundred years.

EU should front that expense and response in Africa and other former colonies.

In May 2018, Trump ordered the NSC’s entire global health security unit shut down, calling for reassignment of Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer and dissolution of his team inside the agency.

Neither the NSC nor DHS epidemic teams have been replaced. The global health section of the CDC was so drastically cut in 2018 that much of its staff was laid off and the number of countries it was working in was reduced from 49 to merely 10.

Meanwhile, throughout 2018, the U.S. Agency for International Development and its director, Mark Green, came repeatedly under fire from both the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

And though Congress has so far managed to block Trump administration plans to cut the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps by 40 percent, the disease-fighting cadres have steadily eroded as retiring officers go unreplaced.

Public health advocates have been ringing alarm bells to no avail.

I see a lot of “global” this and “global” that and USAID, yada yada

Article is behind a paywall, if you get an initial display, try to copy paste the content into a text file right away before the censoring mask comes down on it, or print to pdf or whatever. I was able to copy paste but that leaves me unable to post the article. Maybe someone here has a subscription and is better able to post excerpts. I got most of it and can post if there’s demand.

Anyone have other perspectives on this “Trump cut the CDC” narrative that you’d like to voice?

Ah, shucks, the excerpt in italics above was actually from this article:

Don’t Blame Bat Soup for the Wuhan Virus

    • nimrodman says:

Here’s an excerpt from the Foreign Policy article, highlighting cuts to foreign / global efforts:

In 2018, the Trump administration fired the government’s entire pandemic response chain of command, including the White House management infrastructure. In numerous phone calls and emails with key agencies across the U.S. government, the only consistent response I encountered was distressed confusion.

If the United States still has a clear chain of command for pandemic response, the White House urgently needs to clarify what it is —not just for the public but for the government itself, which largely finds itself in the dark.

When Ebola broke out in West Africa in 2014, President Barack Obama recognized that responding to the outbreak overseas, while also protecting Americans at home, involved multiple U.S. government departments and agencies, none of which were speaking to one another.

Basically, the U.S. pandemic infrastructure was an enormous orchestra full of talented, egotistical players, each jockeying for solos and fame, refusing to rehearse, and demanding higher salaries—all without a conductor.

To bring order and harmony to the chaos, rein in the agency egos, and create a coherent multiagency response overseas and on the homefront, Obama anointed a former vice presidential staffer, Ronald Klain, as a sort of “epidemic czar” inside the White House …

Building on the Ebola experience, the Obama administration set up a permanent epidemic monitoring and command group inside the White House National Security Council (NSC) and another in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)—both of which followed the scientific and public health leads of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the diplomatic advice of the State Department.

Bureaucracy matters. Without it, there’s nothing to coherently manage an alphabet soup of agencies housed in departments ranging from Defense to Commerce, Homeland Security to Health and Human Services (HHS).

      But that’s all gone now.

In the spring of 2018, the White House pushed Congress to cut funding for Obama-era disease security programs, proposing to eliminate $252 million in previously committed resources for rebuilding health systems in Ebola-ravaged Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea</b.

Under fire from both sides of the aisle, President Donald Trump dropped the proposal to eliminate Ebola funds a month later. But other White House efforts included reducing $15 billion in national health spending and cutting the global disease-fighting operational budgets of the CDC, NSC, DHS, and HHS. And the government’s $30 million Complex Crises Fund was eliminated.

This might have been posted before, but this is a very important move by our magnificent President. From GatewayPundit: President Trump Is Sending “Crisis Response Force” to Southern Border March 7, 2020.

I see the Congressional $billions as an opportunity for President Trump to protect the U.S. in many ways. Protect the border, bring pharmaceuticals back to the U.S., bring essential manufacturing back, putting real scientists in charge of research and medical care, and many other great strategies.

I am worried about the corona virus and I have “stocked up,” which for me means refreshing my staples. Every American should be prepared to be at home for some time due to many kinds of emergencies — for me earthquakes, and I have gone through a few. Not fun. So prepping is a “good thing.” Maybe entrepreneurial types will find ways to bring production of staples back to the states.

Another way I see a something of a silver lining in the Cov19, is that China’s economy is suffering. Even though China is also using the virus to further control its population – what else did we expect — they are not longer in economic control in the way they were before.

I don’t want to dismiss lightly the terrible suffering caused by the virus, but look at most cold periods in history – they usher in new bugs as well as much other suffering – black death (Little Ice Age), Post-WWI virus pandemic. We are entering a cyclic cold period – notice how much snow there has been up north — and we are on the downward march of our Holocene interglacial. Be prepared is a great slogan and a necessary action.
