I’m not sure what others have noticed about former Trump skeptics and even People who didn’t like PT when he was elected in 2016. Today the former skeptic joined the Trump Train because of the President’s visit to Daytona on Sunday. He really was impressed with the Beast Lap. He’s retired and a Nascar Fan. The one who didn’t like him in 2016 now totally supports him because of the Trump Economy. He’s a legal Mexican immigrant. Both are predicting a Landslide. I was pleasantly surprised.

I’ve got this customer I’ve had for years, he’s a Mexican who doesn’t like Trump. I talked to him a little bit about it last month, now I’m not fully revealing my cards because he’s a customer and I don’t want to alienate any customers, so I’ve got the kiddie gloves on with him, i’m sure you understand.

Well, last time he said “President Trump, he just doesn’t like Mexicans, I don’t know why. ”

So I responded (because the guy actually did sound hurt) Man, I think, I think what he really wants is, he wants people to pay taxes and do things by the book, he’s very financial… and you know, he has Mexicans that work for him that say good things about him”

And the guy said “Yeah on his property” (as kind of a clarification, not as an accusation or anything negative)

And I said “Yeah, and you know, he’s a very smart man, some of what he says you have to think about why he’s saying that, and what he’s trying to accomplish”

and he said “Yes, he is a very smart man.”

So I changed the subject because I just wanted to drop a few little seeds there. People are changing though, I think it’s hard for them to still not like a guy who is so obviously doing a great job, and most importantly of all, he has a PASSIONATE love for the country that’s infectious and hard to not appreciate.

      • I think that PDJT is the very best ally these Mexicans have ever had. For many decades, “illegal aliens” – who were purposely never offered documentation nor a path to either citizenship or legal residency – were used as slaves. (Much as “non-immigrant visa holders” become indentured servants.) Massive human trafficking operations ran around the world … transporting Africans(!) across the ocean and making them walk on foot to the southern border.

And PDJT was the very first American President to directly acknowledge and to confront what had always been “conveniently ignored.” Yes, “The Peculiar Institution™” is alive and well in 21st century America. PDJT aligned himself against it. It is so much more than “a Wall.”

If you are “here,” from any other place in the world, you should be here legally, and your presence here documented, so that your rights as a human being and those of your family can be protected. Which otherwise they will not be. Immigration laws very much exist to protect the immigrant, who otherwise would enjoy no legal protection at all.

OTOH, any political candidate for congress or for the Presidency should be willing to be thoroughly vetted by a complete 90 day intelligence investigation, in which any proven false accusations made against the candidate result in the accuser being prosecuted and punished by at least 5 years in prison.

You can add to that johnson totally snubbed Farages several requests to stand down Con candidates in strategic areas even after Farage stood down half the Brexit candidates to show good faith. Yes, I’m very glad President Trump is making us less dependent on China for non-medical manufactured goods.

Unfortunately, we still depend on China for medicine, and for raw materials to make medicine. ( https://www.breitbart.com/radio/2020/02/14/expert-china-has-global-chokehold-on-medicine-can-shut-down-our-pharmacies-hospitals-in-months/ ) If China shuts off exports of medicine to us (either because of the trade war or because of Chinese manufacturing problems), we’ll be in trouble.

I hope President Trump is quietly building up our ability to make our own medicine again.

President Trump is 100% responsible for Justice.

P/T has the Power to implement Justice given to the President by the Constitution.

P/T 3-year strategic plan for Justice will happen.

P/T allowed the coup/criminals to destroy themselves for the last 3-years.

P/T has many paths to implement Justice.

    This is not going away.

P/T knows more than we know and we all have seen enough evidence that goes way beyond a reasonable doubt that there was a massive conspiracy (coup).

P/T has set the stages for many easy prosecutions.

P/T is not going to allow the largest criminal organization in U.S. history to escape justice under his Presidency and destroy himself, his family and this republic.

Especially since the President has a bound duty and many paths to implement justice.

And a very good reason not to spread false information that it was defeated (when it wasn’t).

I find this to really be bugging me – that Bongino did this. Did he just make a mistake? Or, is he spreading a false “victory” narrative? This is a big strike against Bongino’s rep in my book; if he doesn’t correct it.

I heard it got Democrat support? So the translation is get us past the next election then we ram it down the throats. If it was just plain tabled then I assume they would have to restart whatever process to get to this point. Can’t have that.

According to that (and other) articles, yes; four “moderate” Democrats voted to “shelve” and allow time to “study” the issue.

Robert Smith says: “So the translation is get us past the next election then we ram it down the throats.

That’s my take on it as well.

There most likely is no rule that specifies it “must” be exactly one year. More likely, it’s “up-to one full year”. If the “study” gets completed before the year is up, surely they can vote to “un-shelve” it without waiting for the entire year to pass by.

So, get past the election; then find an opportune time (time of least anticipated resistance).

              ***

I looked over Bongino’s twitter feed; and it doesn’t appear that he has to-date corrected his misleading tweet; but multiple other people on the feed have pointed out the error (however, most of the posts are “victory dance” posts).

If Bongino were to specify that it was “shelved” for up to a year for study while calling that a “defeat”, then I’d go along with it.

But please; his followers that don’t dig into the details and instead rely on him for their “news” are “reading” it as that it was voted down. For good.

But it wasn’t. This same bill can re-emerge because it HASN’T been voted down.

So, it’s very misleading, IMO. And Bongino STILL hasn’t corrected it (I just looked over his tweets).

So… that being the case, I’d consider your “take” to be a “wormy” way to justify the misleading tweet. 🙂

This is going to put Bongino into the same category, for me, as Ben Shapiro – as in – don’t trust.

Mccarthy makes an essentially circular argument explaining the lack of prosecution of McCabe. He said that PDJT was conducting a “jihad” against McCabe.

But McCarthy failed to acknowledge that the “jihad” that the President was conducting was merely a Twitter campaign based on FACTS, while the jihad that McCabe et al had conducted against the candidate-then-President was not only criminal use of spies and intelligence apparatus, they manufactured false evidence and used it to entrap several otherwise innocent Trump associates into committing process crimes.

Had the Deep State intel officials not tried to undermine the President, he likely would not have waged a Twitter campaign calling them out. Cmon Andy. Use yer noggin.

So why would he say this now? He still has his connections to the DOJ apparatus and that dies hard doesn’t it. Andy doesn’t realize that today’s DOJ is nothing like yesterday’s DOJ even if he still may know some of the top career people there. The DOJ is INFESTED with O’bama and Holder reworking the place and hiring SJW. I am certain they screen for political preferences. Yesterday, somebody posted a link where someone studied the same thing and said of DOJ hires over a certain period there were 130+ lefties leaners and 0 conservatives lawyers.

Still shaken by the Ryan Newman accident. Thank the Lord he is on the road to recovery. However long it takes.

I’ve been a fan for years. He is a real individualist, unafraid to speak his mind and critique the sport when necessary.

And he has a droll sense of humor, which can be seen on a couple of episodes of American Pickers where he bought stuff from the guys.

At age 42 he still is one of the smartest drivers, and for years has gotten the best out of inferior cars on smaller teams. Given half a chance he can challenge the best. He had the race won today if only he had a little more horsepower or had taken four tires. But given the yellows and fewer laps to go he may just have guessed the win. But even heading down the last turn with the lead was beyond expectations.

In 2008 he won this race with a similar strategy, but team mate Kurt Busch was a more effective pusher.

My main interest in Newman was with his animal rescue foundation. Hopefully he will be able to keep that phase of his life prospering. Especially if his racing career is over. Time will tell.

I have a number of collectibles from his career that I will add to and move to a more prominent space in my house.

Nice of Sundance to dedicate a thread to the story.

A history of ugly remarks is surfacing from l’il Mikey Bloomberg. He is remarkably unsuited for electoral politics, and yet he’s running. Why?

Our ever-expanding welfare state, combined with progressive taxation, means rich Americans are bearing a heavy burden of taxes, and they know it. To Mini-Mike, and other rich people, it makes a splendid rationale for a plutocracy. He who pay the piper calls the tune?

One of the main arguments against government-run health care is the inevitable price to personal freedom. If the government has to manage your health, they have the right to micro-manage your lifestyle. Even gun control can be argued as a “cost of health care” issue. You see where Bloomberg, the gun control fanatic, comes in.

But surely the most alluring, the most seductive part of holding elected office, to Bloomberg, is the simple joy of bossing other people around.

The black guy wearing a “Black Guns Matter” t-shirt was called a racist by a white guy.

      From the article:

“…But the man wearing the shirt — who says he agrees with Sanders on some policies, but not on gun control — said he was shocked at being physically confronted at a political rally.

“I think it’s really a sad thing at a Bernie rally, when someone has a difference of opinion, that someone would be treated like that,” he told CBS Denver.

“I thought it really would be a lot more inclusive than that. It’s not a safe place to express differences.”

He added: “I would expect that sort of thing at a Trump rally…”

Moral: Can’t we all just come together and agree Trump and his supporters are racist?

In general, people with pensions out there or expect pensions, you should plan your finances as if it doesn’t exist. Because one day they’ll cut your pensions to 25% and still check you off the list as “receiving pension.”

Saving pensions is business as usual. Doesn’t matter if it was because of crooked unions stealing the money, or if it was because the union broke the business, or if the business was incompetent or whatever. Workers pensions have always been saved and the recipients continue to grumble because they only got 90 % of the pension. Tons more than anyone gets from social security.

As our nation’s chief diplomatic officer, the President has absolute say.

However, it cannot be used for illegal purposes, such as extortion or the obstruction of justice (anywhere). What Biden (and, by extension, Obama) did with Ukraine is expressly illegal under American law.

    – – – – –
Sunday night update – 2/16/20 – (See link above.)

    – Ben Bergquam’s video tour of wall at Project 2.
    – Misc. content.

    – – – – –
    Monday night update – 2/17/20
***Praise: Project 2 is finished. (wall, concrete road, & lighting complete. Not sure if they finished the planting/seeding of the last stretch of the river bank yet though; also, there probably is some cleanup left.)

    – Jeff Rainforth Facebook photos(7) of Project 2.

    – – – – –
***Praise: 🧱 (Project 1: May/June 2019)… WBTW/Fisher Industries was able to build a half mile wall up the side of a mountain in 11 days (with zero safety incidents), cutting off 19 major drug cartel trails, and closing off one of the worst areas along the border… (Began building over Memorial Day weekend in Sunland Park, NM., just across the Rio Grande from El Paso, TX.)
***Praise: 👍 (11/20/19)… DHS Secretary Chad Wolf & CBP Chief gave a huge endorsement to WeBuildTheWall while visiting Project 1. CBP Chief called it a “Game Changer”. It’s the only time CBP or DHS have ever endorsed a wall builder.
***Praise: 🧱 (12/2/19)… Fisher Sand & Gravel was awarded a $400M border wall contract to build 31 miles of wall in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge in Yuma County, Arizona.
(Fisher receives $268M of this $400M project)(Estimated contract completion date is Dec 30, 2020.) (2 days of posts here & here.)

***Praise: (12/4/19)… Brian Kolfage & his family were given the opportunity to visit the White House.
***Praise: While the Temporary Restraining Order(s) were in place, Fisher Industries and crews were still able to keep working on some aspects of Project 2 from the Dec. 5th hearing to Dec 12th (after which they were off for the holidays).
***Praise: (Jan 3)… Judge Crane lifted/removed section 8b from the TRO so that Fisher was able to continue to shave, grade, or cut the riverbank.
***Praise: (Jan 9)… Judge Crane lifted/removed the TROs from both the Federal government’s lawsuit (on behalf of the IBWC) and the North American Butterfly Association’s lawsuit (on behalf of Marianna Trevino-Wright’s National Butterfly Center) against Fisher Sand and Gravel Co.
***Praise: 🧱 Fisher was able to begin installing bollards on Sunday (Jan 12) and work is progressing well. Looks like the wall itself is nearly completed as of Sunday (Jan 26). (They’ll probably start building the concrete service road next. Not sure what stage of completion the lighting and cameras are at.)

***Praise: Fisher has taken the lead on Project 2, covering most of the money for the wall($22M bank loan; total cost is ~$42M). (Haven’t heard any more about other investors with the exception of WBTW as a minor investor. Fisher plans to sell Project 2 back to the government for $14M per mile, or $16.5 million with 10 years of complete upkeep included.)
***Praise: 🔍 (Reported on 12/18/19)… Senator Kevin Cramer was able to complete his in-depth review of the USACE’s procurement process and send a letter with his findings and recommendations to President Trump on 12/6/19.
***Praise:🇺🇸 (12/22/19)… Brian Kolfage was awarded Patriot of the Year award by Turning Point USA at their Student Action Summit for his work with WBTW in helping to securing our border.
***Praise: (Reported on 1/22-23/20)… WBTW gained a major construction equipment company as a corporate sponsor & are looking for more. (See prayer below for specifics.)
***Praise: (Jan 22)… Rep. Warren Petersen’s (R-AZ) bill, HB 2084, making it easier to build border wall on private property in Arizona, moved out of the Federal Relations committee with 4-3 vote in favor.
(Feb 6)… The bill passed house on reconsideration with 31-29 party line vote. Next, it goes to the Senate.

***Praise: 🧱 (Feb 17)… Project 2 is complete. (wall, concrete road, & lighting complete. Not sure if they finished the planting/seeding of the last stretch of the river bank yet though; also, there probably is some cleanup left.)

🙏 Prayer for the work crews. 🙏
Heavenly Father, we pray in Jesus’ name:
    – for safety and good weather for the work crews as they work on Project 3 & 4; that they would be able to continue uninterrupted until completion.
    – for WBTW / Fisher Industries regarding the ongoing lawsuits; that the lawsuits would be dismissed.
(Feb 5)… Judge Randy Crane granted a 60-day extension to all parties. The three sides will reconvene on April 8.
    – that WBTW would be able to find corporate sponsors for Project 3. (They already have a major construction equipment manufacturer and are looking for a solar LED security lighting manufacturer or supplier next who wants to be involved.)

    – that the DoD IG’s office audit of the $400 million border wall contract which the USACE awarded Fisher Sand & Gravel would show everything is fair and above board; that the swamp in DoD and USACE wouldn’t be able to corrupt the process; & that Fisher would be authorized to proceed with the project as planned.

    – that Rep. Warren Petersen’s (R-AZ) bill,HB 2084, making it easier to build border wall on private property in Arizona would get passed.
(Jan 22)… Bill passed out of Federal Relations committee with 4-3 vote in favor.
(Jan 30)… The bill failed on the house floor as one Republican sided with the Democrats.
(Feb 6)… The bill passed AZ house on reconsideration with 31-29 party line vote. Next, it goes to the Senate.

    – for the bi-national summit with the Mexican IBWC and American politicians that WBTW will be hosting; for open lines of communication/understanding; and that WBTW/Fisher Industries would learn what they need to know to facilitate the sign off and approval of their projects by the Mexican IBWC.

    – for 100% safety/health/guidance/direction for the work crews, security personnel, legal team, CBP, DHS, Army and all involved in Project’s 2, 3, 4, and other projects; and for WBTW/Fisher Industries as they work with private landowners to secure more property to build on
    – that work would go smoothly with continual, innovative improvements in method/process/efficiency and quality of construction; and with transitioning as they scale up capacity(manpower, equipment, etc.) to build larger projects
    – that there would be no outside interference (cartels, IBWC, courts/judges, protesters, swamp, etc.) and that if outside interference takes place that it would only work toward WBTW/Fisher Industries/USA’s benefit (exposing corruption, raising awareness, fundraising, etc.)

    – that Project 2’s wall will prove that WBTW/Fisher Industries can rapidly complete large sections of wall, with a superior build, at the lowest price
    – that this wall would prove that the design is sound and they are able to safely and effectively build it on a large scale in the Rio Grande Valley (Project 2’s “water wall” design is the first border wall that’s ever been built inside the flood plain)
    – that the federal government would provide funding for WBTW/Fisher Industries to build 250+ miles of wall on Private Property in Texas

    – that the Government would purchase all of WBTW/Fisher Industries projects so the funds can be rolled into future projects and Fisher Industries will be able to scale up with additional equipment and manpower as needed.
(This, in addition to ongoing fundraising from public/investors, will allow WBTW/Fisher Industries to continue to self fund projects, build their reputation/resume, while they continue to pursue other avenues which could lead to government contracts down the road.)

yeah, the old rule-of-thumb was no more than 3 links per comment, if there are more to post, break them up into 3 per subsequent comments

wordpress seems to have been becoming more tolerant lately, but 3 will usually succeed, more than that sometimes yes but sometimes not

… and it’s automatic, as you say, WordPress filters do it

.. and technically I don’t think it’s actual moderation – which is something the Admins do – but is referred to by the Admins as “spam jail” – WordPress filters classify comments with a lot of links as likely spam

          • Stillwater says:

            – I guess when I say “automatically going into moderation” I mean WordPress does it and holds it in some sort of a queue (not sure what the right term is for it) until a mod happens to see it and allows it to post(which it looks like Ad rem did) or it times out and disappears.
            – Normally my posts that are held eventually times out and disappears so I just go ahead and repost the content with fewer links when I see it’s been held.
            – I’ve always been able to get away with 5 links per comment. Just forgot about it the last time.

Yeah, we’re pretty much talking similar language, Stillwater

And thanks for your wall posts, I’ll read them sometimes and skip them other times but appreciate your taking the time to post them and appreciate the nice photos of the wall in various locales and discussion of some of the issues and difficulties

So yeah, it”s an automated WordPress filter that diverts your comments with too many links

When I’ve seen the Admins talking about it, they usually use the terms spam filter, spam bin, or just bin

The only reason I take time to make a distinction to people is when users describe it as “moderation” if it’s likely not. Some of them start to bristle up that they’re being moderated (“Why are my posts being moderated?” they’ll ask.)

Moderation IS a process the Admins use here, but it’s a hands-on process … they’ll flag a bad actor or misbehaver so that their comments go into a moderation queue and must be seen and released by a moderator (Admin) – or not. That’s active moderation, as opposed to the WordPress spam filter.

My experience, at least – YMMV

I’ve been spam-binned often and moderated rarely (for an out-of-bounds comment or word choice; anyone advocating violence a little too explicitly will get a comment removed and the user in the moderation dog house for awhile).

The WordPress spam / censoring filter used to be a lot touchier – 3 links max and you’d have to spell-disguise certain words like r@pe and such. Long time ago, in the Zimmerman days.

Please don’t just post a “blind URL” and expect me to click it. What I want to read first is your synopsis and interpretation: why did you care so much about what the page said that you chose now to share it with the rest of us? What’s the single biggest take-away from it? If, after reading your comments, I want to then read the page, I’ll click.

FTA – It’s a familiar plotline. An interloper runs for a party’s nomination and, with an anti-insider pitch, scores wins and near-wins in the first contests with vote pluralities. His numerous opponents, fearful of antagonizing his enthusiastic supporters, launch attacks on one another that, predictably, hurt the attacker as well as the target.

Party establishment types, convinced the interloper is a sure loser in November, dither and tilt things mildly against him while trying to maintain the impression of fairness. Candidates with no chance remain in the race, dividing the anti-interloper vote, hoping the interloper will collapse. But he doesn’t — and even starts winning absolute majorities in late contests.

That’s how Donald Trump won the GOP nomination in 2016, and so far, it’s consistent with how Bernie Sanders is doing in the 2020 race.

It seems like we have the Greatest Legal Predicament & Coup in American History on the precipice. Will AG Barr:

    – prosecute the DOJ, FBI, CIA, State Department & Administrative State bad actors; or

    – sweep it under the rug with “reforms” & new “regulations”? And lose the support of over 30% of America for a generation.

Tom Fitton again states he sees no sign of a serious investigation.

President Trump yanking the Jessie Liu nomination to these rookie eyes seems to show POTUS seems to be calling AG Barr on the carpet in a semi nuanced way.

    • If we are speaking of officers of the United States Government, I think that the venue could legitimately be “any county where there is any Federal office building.” Like a post office, for instance. I do not believe that they need be, nor necessarily should be, confined to the District of Columbia. “The venue” of the Government is … anywhere and everywhere.
