White House Leaks Private Trump Transition Communication To CBS News…

The front of the story is that President Elect Donald Trump’s transition team requested security clearances for Donald Jr., Ivanka, Jerrod and Eric Trump.

The reason for the request is simple: in order to see the executive dossier’s and backgrounds of some governmental officials -who are under consideration for Trump administration positions- you must have a security clearance.

Almost everyone on the transition team needs a security clearance in order to see details of the candidate backgrounds.  It is no big deal, and has nothing to do with anything except the ability to review information, candidate experience, qualifications and provide an opinion.

However, that said – the bigger back story issue as outlined in this tweet from CBS is far more concerning. It would appear the Obama administration is leaking private discussions to CBS news:

Do y’all remember..during the primaries..during the general elections when you doubted PRESIDENT-ELECT Trump?

This is no different. The subject of the thread is that a “news outlet” leaked, etc…is that difficult to believe? Hell no. Is it difficult to believe that President-Elect Trump would want his adult children (whom he is personally and professionally close) to be on his board? Hell, no. Is it difficult to believe the Obama administration leaked anything?

Another thing to consider is State is a swamp to be drained. It’s basically taken over the role the CIA used to play as far as espionage, intelligence, & covert ops. Lots of vipers lurking there. The Chinese & Russians infested Clinton’s state department in the 1990s, especially the Chinese. Just think Wag the Dog “you never won an Oscar, but how about being an ambassador?”

          • Actually, there is a very good reason for Rudy to go to State. The foreign relations world is a minefield of Saudi influence now. And Rudy knows how to stand up to them.

I am 100% on board with a 9/11 New Yorker, and specifically Rudy, being Secretary of State.

I think the State department has been so tarnished and downgraded in so many peoples minds they feel it a step down for Rudy to take that post. Many including myself don’t have enough understanding of the functions of the State Department to know how important it is. To many Americans it’s just photo ops and statements for TV, the inner workings are a total mystery. On the other hand the DOJ only needs to be understood as the department of law and order for all so seems to have more prestige. Whatever Rudy does I think we can count on him to do it right and in America’s best interest. He does know how to clean out nests of vipers.

Bolton is perceived by the critics as a neocon, a warhawk, member of the war party, etc. I think it’s more nuanced to say he appears to be a “cut-out” for those groups. He is hawkish towards Russia & many believe he would interfere w/ Trump’s desire to foster good relations w/ Russia. He was critical of Trump’s stance on NATO as well. The best argument for him that I’ve seen (it’s not that wonderful) is that he has disdain for the UN & the Muslim Brotherhood.

I don’t think that is right. There is law and policy in place that applies to the whole transition thing. The candidates are even allowed to submit requests for security clearances for prospective transition team members BEFORE election day, so that there will be a smoother transition and transition team members will be able to get things done before the inauguration. It takes time to do security clearances, especially the higher-level ones. The law directs that all the investigations, etc be completed, “to the fullest extent practicable,” by the day after election day. As far as I know, the government cannot deny a request for a security clearance investigation from a candidate. So, the Trump campaign was able to get these security clearances going while he was still campaigning, for any of the top people he was thinking about making a part of the transition team. Some of the people on his transition team no doubt already had clearance. And from what I read, it appears everyone doesn’t need a clearance, only those who will have a need to access classified information.

Personally, I have problem with the Trump children serving on the transition team. After all this is a team of professionals put together for the purpose of determining personnel and processes for the transition to the administration of President Trump. No one knows Donald Trump as well as his three adult children. They know the types of things that he would want to know, and how to present that to him. They can help everyone on the team get where they need to go more efficiently.

I don’t have a problem with them having whatever clearance they need to participate in this – any more than for any of the other transition team members. Others have posted the correct information: Top Secret clearances are compartmentalized. That is, your access to information is determined on a “need to know” basis. You have access to what you need to accomplish your job, and that is all.

(Obviously, with updates saying these reports of their clearance requests are not true, may make this a moot point anyway)

Finally, what I DO have a problem with is two brothers in these positions sharing information like this. Talk about compromising our national security. This White House – the Obama administration – has compromised us in every way possible.

Ok, so I have read all of these comments and looked at the different reactions.

My initial thought on the supposed leaked tweet is that it had a multi-faceted design.

The first thought was that it was an attempt to criticize or embarrass President Elect Trump, get the useful idiots rioting in the streets to riot some more and cause more general havoc. Create the narrative that President Elect Trump was not trustworthy and attempt to distance his supporters from him.

Tall order for any of those things to actually work.

My second thought is that it was a signal for people to start destroying as much incriminating evidence as they could.

For very good reasons we complained about the Kennedys. We complained about Hillary riding the coattails of Bill. We even complained in the last few years about the Bushes and used it against Jeb during his campaign. Now, people are drooling about decades of Trump children being in political office? Trump should have his children show up in maid and butler uniforms b/c they can have access to confidential files without needing a security clearance according to HRC. In fact, it is known as the “hired help” exception, isn’t it?

I’m thinking that Ben Rhodes needs to get his RESUME updated quickly as Mr. Trump puts it. I don’t believe that he’ll be working in a Federal Government job after 1/20/2017. Just a feeling!

    Louisiana Election Results 2016
    http://www.thegreenpapers.com/G16/LA#S3

Runoff Election Louisiana – December 10

    US Senate

    John Neely Kennedy (R) 24.96%
Foster Lonnnie Campbell, II (D) 17.47%

    U.S. House of Representatives

    CD 3
    Scott A. Angelle (R) 28.56%
    Clay Higgins (R) 26.50%

    CD 4
James Michael “Mike” Johnson (R) 24.68%
    J. Marshall Jones, Jr.(D) 28.18%

For the Senate runoff the RNC is moving into the state to support Kennedy, but Im more concerned about CD 3 runoff where Clay Higgins is going up against an entrenched candidate (Angelle) that is likely to start a run for Louisiana Governor again
