Released on the same day Obama killed the Keystone Pipeline project this first “official” 30 second ad is meant to deflect attention away from Obama’s actual energy policy that has horrid consequences:   Illegal DOE drilling ban/moratorium in Gulf following Deep Water Horizon explosion, halting of ANWAR oil exploration, selling of Gulf Oil rights to Brazil, subsidization of Mexican Oil exploration, withdrawing permits for new coal mining in West Virginia and now the elimination of Keystone Pipeline project.

When you look at the claims within this ad they are openly false.  Really, this is rookie manipulative advertising that wouldn’t even pass muster at Daily Kos.   The decreasing lack of dependence in foreign oil claim is specifically because of overall oil consumption decreasing due to a horrible economy, but that is not the easiest deconstruction.   It gets way funnier.

Pause the commercial at the screen shots of media reports they use to support their claim(s) and look at the dates.   Example: “President Obama kept a campaign promise to toughen ethics rules”  DATED  01-21-09…..  Hello, the fibber took office 01-20-09, what possible “ethics rules” are they talking about that were constructed in 24hrs?  Darned sure wasn’t about energy policy, and if he’s talking about no administration lobbyists well he blew that one didn’t he?   Then there’s those pesky Alex Jones, Tim Geithner, Jon Corzine,  Charlie Rangel, Solyndra type things…..  OR maybe the new fangled “Deem and Pass” rules for Obamacare…?    Who knows.

Don’t tell the DNC how ridiculous this ad is, let them make more.   It is openly hilarious stuff like this that will help take the wool off the eyes of the sheeple.
