Our family received a 2 pound 12 ounce blessing this week.

Many of you may be aware of the birth of Sarah Isabella if you have checked into the prayer thread. Many of you have been praying for her and her mother. From the bottom of my heart I thank you. You have made a difference in a precious life, you have joined in prayer to save a precious and beloved child. I am awed and grateful that I have this place, these people to cry out to for help. I am thankful for all the prayers and love sent to Sarah Isabella. I am particularly grateful for the medical care given the mother and child.

Last night, my husband wondered at the fact that doctors will fight so valiantly to save this baby’s life, and yet perhaps a few rooms or floors away, be ending the life of another through abortion. The only difference being one baby is desperately loved and wanted by her mother, and the other is not. I am a mother, have had three pregnancies, and I do not discount the fear, hopelessness, despair, and perhaps even abandonment women can experience due to an unwanted pregnancy. However, any woman who loves that baby wil not end it’s life. Period.

What is the fate of a babe whose mother chooses this route? In the first trimester, perhaps vacuum aspiration, exactly what it sounds like. The cervix is opened and a tube attached to a suction apparatus is inserted into the womb to remove the baby. Descriptions of late term abortions are even more graphic, and sound like something from a horror movie, or perhaps a description of torture. We have politicians who are outraged at the treatment of terrorists at the hands of our soldiers or the CIA, yet support and fund torture and murder of innocent babies. For that matter, we have supposed Christians who support abortion. Supposed being the kindest term I have for them. If your faith has not led to the most basic belief in the sanctity of life, you might want to crack open your Bible with a view toward finding guidance to lead you where God wants you to go.

Two children. One lives. One dies a horrible painful death.

In celebration and joy at the blessing gifted to our family, I intend to renew my efforts, especially in prayer to end abortion, to protect the innocent. Today I write this article to ask that you all join me in prayer, at least for today, for those innocents who did not find their way into this world in love and joy, but face a far more horrible fate. I pray for a change of heart for these mothers. I pray that fathers will be supportive, loving and use their influence to choose life for their child. I pray that I may be able to help save at least one baby, perhaps be given a chance to help a mother in need. I pray that people will find a way to help these women, for no baby will live without aid and compassion being given to the mother. I pray for leaders who will find ways to right this wrong, end this legal murder. I pray that someone or something will touch the hearts of those who do not see the hypocrisy, and yes, the evil, in welcoming one child and killing another. Please join me today as we remember those we have lost, and fight for those we can save.
