With 20 percent of Republican voters, Donald Trump is the clear leader in the crowded Republican presidential primary field, but he trails any of three leading Democratic contenders by wide margins in general election matchups, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today. POLL DATA

This national poll data, in combination with the Florida poll data released yesterday, reflects a devastating reality for the GOPe professional political class and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the GOPe financiers.

While there is still a long way to go, the strategic plans of the white wine spritzer and crust-less sandwich crowd are being compromised by Donald Trump and his coalition of supporters who are rebuking traditional candidates.

The professional political class has assembled a very specific electoral construct to insure their selected guy, Jeb Bush, achieves victory. The high electoral count GOP primary states, Texas, Florida and Ohio, have been seeded with CoC candidates to insure the ‘Anyone-But-Jeb’ voting block remains fractured.

The original goal, as evidenced in their plan, was for Jeb to take the GOP nomination only needing 15 to 20% of the overall vote. The fulcrum of the entire operation is dependent on the Florida primary victory, hence Rubio was purchased as an insurance policy. The “Super Delegates” consisting of Governors, Senators and Congressional Reps along with party leadership are essentially guarantees for Jeb so long as his team can maintain the planned pathway.

The longer Trump continues to upset the UniParty apple cart, the more of a risk he represents to the professional political class.
