WASHINGTON DC – Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:
Panetta said, though he did meet with Obama at a 5 o’clock prescheduled gathering, the president left operational details, including knowledge of what resources were available to help the Americans under siege, “up to us.”
In fact, Panetta says that the night of 9/11, he did not communicate with a single person at the White House. The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.
Obama did not call or communicate in anyway with the defense secretary that night. There were no calls about what was going on in Benghazi. He never called to check-in.
The 5 o’clock meeting was a pre-scheduled 30-minute session, where, according to Panetta’s recollection, they spent about 20 minutes talking a lot about the American embassy that was surrounded in Egypt and the situation that was just unfolding in Benghazi. [...]
“While Americans were under assault in Benghazi, the president found time for a non-urgent, politically useful, hour-long call to Prime Minister Netanyahu. And his senior national security staff had to find time to arrange the call, brief the president for the call, monitor it, and provide an immediate read-out to the media. I suspect Prime Minister Netanyahu, of all people, would have understood the need to postpone or shorten the phone call if he were told that Americans were under attack as the president chatted. But for President Obama, a politically useful telephone call—and the ability to have his aides rush out and tell the media about that phone call—came first.”

I know this may be insignificant, but it is DISGRACEFUL to me that Panetta would use the phrase “lost his life” when referring to Ambassador Stevens. He didn’t LOSE ANYTHING…..his life was savagely TAKEN FROM HIM BY EVIL MEN and to phrase this vicious murder as anything less is appalling!!!
He “lost his life” being involved with the Obama administration…maybe that’s what he meant.
That’s the same variant of the “passive voice” the MSM worldwide uses every time Holocaust Remembrance Day comes around.

The passive voice is sometimes used without even a named person as a subject, but “lives were lost” in “violence”. “Gun violence has claimed X lives”.

I was yelling at my tv when I heard Leon Panetta say the attack was brief and there was no prior warning. WTF? The attack lasted NINE HOURS! And, the terrorists had previously blown a hole in their stone fence. Several requests for increased security were ignored and eventually denied.
I came this close to smashing my tv. I wanted a reporter or anyone to challenge Panetta, but nobody did.
I’m glad I’m not the only guilt of yelling at a tv (or computer)… I get strange looks sometimes.

My co-workers and I were watching this on TV in a bar at a big airport waiting for our flight. This was after we ate dinner. The flight departure was about 9pm. I’m thinking the whole time, “WTF is this? Light them up!” Why would POTUS go to bed early?

Pannetta said that they now knew it was two separate attacks 6 hours apart. 6 HOURS? They coulda sent in 6 platoons in 6 HOURS! Yet they did nothing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,……..

Coast, this is an important point. There is a segment of the population who maybe does not hate the military, but feels they brought it upon themselves for being stupid enough to sign up. The same feeling extend almost to anyone working for the US abroad, to them they are all spies, (thanks Hollywood), or just meddling in that countries affairs. Whether he was asleep or not (wake him up!) it did not matter where Obama was…the commander in chief was MIA at a time when life altering events were occurring & decisions needed to be made as a matter of course in running the Country.

But it is critical in the timeline presented here…does Panetta’s testimony refute the timeline? I think it is all contrived, layers on layers of deceit.
What timeline are you referring to, we don’t even know for sure if Obama took the phone call from Netanyahu. Remember Biden was the one that had the notes in hand in above photo. Regardless, maybe that was Obamas hope of cover, but if your Ambassador to Libya is in a full on terrorist attack you excuse yourself or tell Biden, or Boehner, etc to make a decision.
There is a story here about that picture above, citing Obama on a phone call with Netanyahu during the time the attack was happening. The site mentioned that it was getting spam attacks after posting that photo.
IMHO, this was a planned kidnap attempt to secure Obama’s re-election. That is why no one was called and if any one was, they were told to stand down. It all went off plan, they killed him instead.
Of course Obama should have done something but he didn’t. same with Clinton, biden, and all his ‘security advisors’ in the room.
I used to think that it was a wag the dog kidnap operation to help President Zero get re-elected. I now think it was a case of The Man Who Knew Too Much and had to die. Gun running to al Qaeda and the Muslim Bros out of a CIA weapons depot in Benghazi and Zero knew what was going on. He also knew Stevens knew all about it. Dead men tell no tales. Graham than asked if Panetta spoke to Clinton that night & he said no. So basically no one knew where the Ambassador was during the attack coz they all went to bed.
