WASHINGTON DC - Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) claimed that the United States had a $5.6 trillion surplus at the end of the Clinton administration Tuesday.
“Remember, we had a $5.6 trillion surplus in 2000 – 2001 from the Clinton administration,” Jackson said in the interview while discussing fiscal cliff negotiations.
However, according to CNN Money, the “Treasury Department reported a budget surplus… of $127 billion” for fiscal year 2001 and a $237 billion surplus for fiscal year 2000. (more)

The economy did well under Clinton only because Saudi Arabia and Kuwait could and were producing enough oil to keep energy prices low to reward Pres Bush Sr for fighting a war to expel Iraq. Remember when oil was less than $20 per barrel and gas was about a dollar? Did you use that extra $3,000 per year that you would have spent under the Obama green energynregime to stimulate the economy by buying other stuff?
I understand why Black people vote for Black politicians.
I even understand why Black people vote for Black politicians only if they are liberal Democrats.

Just a word about the Clinton “Surplus”…If you have $30 and you borrow $20 then spend $40 you don’t really have a $10 surplus. You’re still in the hole $20. Just like the US after Clinton.

Ctdar, you read my mind. Yes, it takes hours and hours, according to some black women I know. AND it costs a small fortune – some up-dos I have commented on to the Wearee require approx. 8 hrs to complete (the ones with braids are very time-intensive) and costs approx. $200 and up.
Don’t get me started on the fingernails.
Personally, I get a$20 haircut, and go home and style it myself. But I’ve got good hair.
