Today President Obama refused to rule out any unlawful activity on the part of General Petraeus. Instead deferring to the ongoing FBI investigation. ie “seeds of doubt“.
Then what happens “Presto” Reuters *cough* Report - WASHINGTON, Nov 14
(Reuters) – A computer used by Paula Broadwell, the woman whose affair with CIA director General David Petraeus led to his resignation, contained substantial classified information that should have been stored under more secure conditions, law enforcement and national security officials said on Wednesday.
The contents of the classified material and how Broadwell acquired it remain under investigation, said the officials. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to comment publicly. (more)
Reminder: The White House GOAL: 1.) Move current opinion of Gen Petraeus 2.) Use CIA Angle as cover for misleading information. 3.) Take no responsibility for the lies and falsehoods. They must find a way to stop Petreaus from collapsing their narrative.
Think of advancing their objectives like advancing a football in the game toward the Goal line:
√20 yard line – Petraeus is a solid patriot ===> √ …. Fri
√30 yard line – Petraeus is fallible/human ====> √ …. Sat/Sun
√40 yard line – Petraeus lost his capacity for judgement ====> √…. Mon
√50 yard line – Petraeus is/was distracted ===> √ …. Tue
√40 yard line – Petraeus is compromised ===> √ …. Wed (presser avoidance)
√30 yard line – Petraeus is unstable ===> Thursday 11/15
20 yard line – Petraeus is not-credible ===> Friday 11/16 (he talks to congress)
10 yard line – Petraeus is out for revenge. ====> Weekend….
Touchdown – Petraeus is a liar.
Each Administration player, including Media “special teams” (See Michael Hastings and CNN Suzanne Kelly) will have a specific goal in advancing the narrative of protection for the Administration. Remember: “How to win the game”? Isolate => Ridicule => Marginalize.
It is how they roll. Always.

Obama Administration Named Holly Petraeus to $187,605-Per-Year Job on Jan 12, 2011 in the newly formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Really think the ‘General’ is going to tell what he knows? Side note; your site is the first place I go to now for the ‘truth’.
Any Obama action against Holly Patraeus without a LOT preparation would get a load of bad press. Testimony under oath and behind closed doors, and after his trip to Libya to personally investigate, might be the Obama line, but I think there is a better chance he will spill all he knows in whatever detail congress allows.
Hope you are correct, but I have nagging doubts…….
Hi Ray, thanks for the compliment – snag a comfy spot and lend your perspective…. It’s like a rolling conversation. Just trying to see through the fog and narratives….
Regarding Petraeus and Holly’s job, it depends on how much of his core principles have been compromised. However, in the final analysis when looking at your entire earnest career being reduced to scraps of ridicule, I doubt he has much more than honor left to carry him.
I hope.
I think/hope Petreus’ affair was an aberration for him. The blatantly false testimony that he gave to Congress was another aberration. The deal he made with Obama to give thatbfalse testimony to cover Obama’s butt on Benghazi was yet another aberration. Now Obama outs Petreus in spite of the deal. Petreus has just been punished for his aberrant behavior. Perhaps it taught him a lesson and he will revert to his core principles.
I’ll bet they forgot to mention that she was allowed to have access to the confidential material with her clearances. Just leave it open ended and the masses will assume it was classified info she stole from Petraeus.
“should have been stored under more secure conditions”
Maybe it was in her home office in an unlocked filing cabinet inside her locked house or she only changed her password every 90 days instead of 30. Should have; What does that mean? Was there an actual violation or just less than best practices in her home?
Does it matter? They control the narrative and the press. That’s all they need.
I was thinking the same thing. I was going to say, I think she had Top Secret Clearance, and as such she would have been cleared to handle such information. Perhaps she did not have the GSA Approved Security Container, or had an unencrypted thumb drive sitting around. I think it should be clear to everyone by now that Broadwell is clearly a CIA asset. Either that, or she is the most educated and over qualified biographer in the history of biographers. Her CV is top notch. This is all a smoke screen.
Broadwell has blatantly misspoken in public twice that I can think of in recent days
-Referred to deaths of 3 officials (not 4…any truth?)
-CIA Annix was actually a detention center
So Broadwell was given top security clearance(now suspended) when she clearly did not deserve or she misspoke on purpose.
Read it in the media so it must be true?
I haven’t heard about the 3 vs 4.
The militants held in the annex story is sourced from a Fox story same day.
The full Alinsky! Works every time. The Great One outlined how the entire obama campaign was textbook. The Won might’ve sucked in college, but he sure did well at the Midwest Academy.
As a retired SSO I will wait to see what ‘classified’ data she had on her computer. You can parse ‘classified’ until the cows come home – was it classified in the past (e.g., classified data that has gone over a mandatory declassification date, or classified that has been declassified), was it ‘FOUO which is a handling instruction but frequently misidentified as ‘classified’, was her computer cleared for low-level classified (unusual but not unheard of – the ‘owner’ of that classified data determines its dissemination)? Then again, we can’t say what classified information was found because…it’s classified! **Imagine dark, smiling face under a hood saying “Trust Me” in a low, slimy voice. We had some classified courts-martials some decades ago, where special military defense attorneys had to represent the defendants as the defense attorneys had to have TS-SCI access and – whoops – that was almost impossible except for some hand-picked special Federal attorneys. The hearings were classified, the charges were classified, the evidence was classified and the verdicts except for “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS” was classified. OH yeah – we have the paranoid question too of ‘who put the classified information on her computer”? Just sayin’
After today’s press conference, I’m convinced that General Patreus is going to tow the company line. He HAS NO CHOICE. The Administration has leverage on him, including possible criminal charges, loss of wife’s job, and possible repercussions if it is found out that his affair occurred prior to his departure from the military. He has too much to lose and will not risk everything he has earned to buck the administration. I think you are wrong on this one Sundance. Obama heaping praise on Petraus today reinforces that. You and I both know that Obama would not have been complimentary towards him today had he believed Patreus would harm his Presidency. Just MY thoughts.
Obama will continue to be complimentary to those he seeks to destruct. He is the front, the guise, the shiney thing….. the operatives do the legwork to his benefit so he can maintain the guise “above the fray” n’ stuff….. It’s typical Alinsky machinations at work.
When Obama confronts directly (See Graham, McCain) it’s because the groundwork from the operatives has already been laid —- extremists, right wing-nuts, angry bitter old white men, etc etc. He hits, loads the bases, then the media plays cleanup…..
He will look upon the deconstruction of General Petraeus with sympathy and earnest dispair for the loss of such a brilliant patriot. (he might even shed a tear if needed)
Oozing charm from every pore he oiled his way across the floor.
I wonder about how bad the stuff could be, Broadwell had a week to realize she was under investigation and clean house. She also strikes me as the sort of person that would have a “real” safe, and use passwords.
Trophies.
I can understand that, but why leave them at home when the FBI is going to search it? Why not simply return it to whatever her “approved” secure storage place might be, or hide it someplace else? We have a 32GB microSD the size of a fingernail that goes in our phone or PC.
Ron Paul gave his farewell address today. Here’s the video and a link to the text.

Oh, well. (my feeling when I finished the article that is linked here…)

Looks like one of the Trayvon 7-11 Three Stooges got a job carrying boxes for the FBI.
This is why McCain, Graham and Ayotte are all up in arms.
Benghazi inquiry sparks Hill turf battle

There are three different committees that are interviewing witnesses and since they are closed door, none of them can share info with the others. Petraeus is appearing before the Intelligence Committee, so only those members will know what he said. McCain etc…. want a special committee formed (like Watergate) so ALL information will come out in front of one committee. Harry Reid, for obvious reasons, does not want a special committee.
What a cluster.
I just found this photo of Jill Kelly and her twin sister.

They both pose with their heads tilted stupidly.
Ne of the fringe benefits of the Petreas scandal is that we will see more photos of the Kahwann (spelling?) twins as well as Paula Broadwell. I hear thatnthey all have money problems. May be they’ll get desperate enough to do pictorials for Playboy?
Reading the article it seems best she will get is a slap on the wrist if anything.
I am sure while this investigation is underway that since Petraeus’s lover is now “under investigation” that it will be used as leverage against him to testify on behalf of the administration’s position. It is a close as you can get to kidnapping a family member and holding them as ransom while you are at court to testify.
I don’t know about that, Mr K.D. Wino…they’re both late-30s, approaching 40 i.e. SAG.
Plus, per the NY Daily News:
Jill Kelley was raised in Philadelphia, where her family settled in the mid-1970s and opened a Middle Eastern restaurant after immigrating from Lebanon.
So you know there’s hair growing just everywhere…..
