Broadwell’s Pillow Talk Symposium – “I don’t know if a lot of you have heard this”….

No Paula, something tells me no one except you had actually heard this…..

ISRAEL NEWS - Military expert Paula Broadwell, who was allegedly improperly involved with resigned CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus, confirmed in October that the CIA annex in Benghazi asked for reinforcements when the consulate came under attack on September 11. She also acknowledged that “there was a failure in the system.”

Broadwell was speaking at her alma mater, the University of Denver, on October 26. Her lecture, which is on YouTube under the title “Alumni Symposium 2012 Paula Broadwell,” now has added value, because based on the recent disclosures, it can now be assumed that she indeed knew exactly what it was that Petraeus knew about the attack.

Broadwell confirmed the reports on Fox News that the CIA annex asked for a special unit, the Commander in Chief’s In Extremis Force, to come and assist it. She also said that the force could indeed have reinforced the consulate, and that Petraeus knew all of this, but was not allowed to talk to the press because of his position in the CIA.

“The challenge has been the fog of war, and the greater challenge is that it’s political hunting season, and so this whole thing has been turned into a very political sort of arena, if you will,” she said. “The fact that came out today is that the ground forces there at the CIA annex, which is different from the consulate, were requesting reinforcements.

They were requesting the – it’s called the C-in-C’s In Extremis Force – a group of Delta Force operators, our very, most talented guys we have in the military. They could have come and reinforced the consulate and the CIA annex. Now, I don’t know if a lot of you have heard this but the CIA annex had actually taken a couple of Libyan militia members prisoner, and they think that the attack on the consulate was an attempt to get these prisoners back. It’s still being vetted.

“The challenging thing for Gen. Petraeus is that in his new position, he’s not allowed to communicate with the press. So he’s known all of this – they had correspondence with the CIA station chief in Libya, within 24 hours they kind of knew what was happening.”  (more)

I think Broadwell has many more sources of information than Patraeus, and may have been privy to casual conversations that are not open to outsiders. She is a member of a very select anti terrorist group.

Its all leaks, but part of the leak is that Broadwell was found to have some classified information, and that it was NOT sourced from Patraeus.

It would certainly fit the pattern if Benghazi was about prisoners in the CIA annex, instead of anything we have speculated on.

Thre are other reports that the delta force did land in benghazi but when the ‘hostage rescue’ mission failed because of the killings, they took off.

We knew they had two prisoners which they turned over to the Libyans before they were allowed to leave the annex to go to the airport. I remember that being reported early on. I had thought these were people that had been captured during the attack on the consulate when they were evacuating the 30 or so people from there and taking them to the annex, They were hoping to detain them for questioning about the attack on the consulate, but were forced to relinquish them to the Libyan guards. I did not get the impression from what was reported that they were being held at the annex prior to the attack on the consulate.

Well, this sorta explains why she was outed–for the media. She’s talking–no longer “tolerated”. BFD. Benghazi was a depot for a zillon tons of weapons during the rebels operations, and it was a rebel HQ pre-dead-Gaddaf. There were operatives and contractors from every known country in Benghazi getting their fingers in the pie–and they are still there. CIA had a captive? Move along…nothing to see here. Getting back to the story, you just don’t go out to a rooftop somewhere and put the IR designator on a target, light it up, and ask “where the f_uck is the Spectre?” is unless you expect it to be there, OR, you’ve been told the AC-130 is coming. With limited numbers. and if there is no reason to expect the cavalry to be coming soon, you continue suppressive fire and get the hell off the x. Ran out of ammo and then got overrun?–BS.

The book written by Broadwell was collaborated with Vernon Loeb, of the Washington Post. Now, here is a little interesting fact about Loeb.

Anyone remember Jessica Lynch, the female soldier that was captured in Iraq and was made into such a heroine until the truth came out that she was never in a firefight, had not been stabbed or shot, and wasn’t really the heroine that the press made her out to be? Well, take a guess who broke the story of Lynch and her [later disputed] heroism. That’s right; Vernon Loeb.

Loeb made the ususal rounds touting his “Lynch was a heroin” story. Only problem, it was all b/s. He later stated that he did NOT get his information from the CIA, but from some “anonymous” source that told him of Lynch’s bravery. After the Lynch Heroism story was proven to be pure media spin, Loeb refused to discuss it any further.

Maybe someone can find out if Loeb was part of the “Journalist” group?

Just to set the record straight, Jessica Lynchh never claimed heroic acts. She was in a support battalion that got ambushed, she was severely wounded by an RPG then she was captured. Her rescue was heroic. The media spin and rumors being circulated on the eve of our engagement with the Republucan Guard served a military purpose. Each of our two heavey Divisions attacked and destroyed two Iraqi divisions. Then they went back and destroyed four more divisions the next night.

I never said Lynch claimed the heroics. I said that it was Loeb who first came out with the story, claiming heroics. Geeesh.

Once the story was proven wrong, Loeb milked the original story for all it was worth, even making a PBS special, but once he was proven wrong, he would not talk about it ever again.

My read on the lady is she is 100% a Company spook and the entire public narrative is manufactured and being played out according to a script ….I don’t believe any of this stuff the way it is being presented and any excessive comeradery between her and Petraeus is a super sized “so what” that means absolutely zero. This stuff is all smoke and mirrors and is a manufactured diversion based upon a complete non issue that has been conveniently made into a controversy as a distraction.

Fox News has also learned that Stevens was in Benghazi that day to be present at the opening of an English-language school being started by the Libyan farmer who helped save an American pilot who had been shot down by pro-Qaddafi forces during the initial war to overthrow the regime. That farmer saved the life of the American pilot and the ambassador wanted to be present to launch the Libyan rescuer’s new school.

Brings back to mind the Vanity Fair’s article by Michael Lewis that was using the construct of Tyler Stark “ended up in a thornbush in the Libyan desert in March 2011″ to explain “Obama’s Way.”

My comment: I just don’t believe that Pres. Obama didn’t know exactly what was going on in Benghazi in the days surrounding 9/11 including the opening of “libyan rescuer’s new school”.

    Murder of an Idealist

[If you google the link, it apparently was posted Nov. 5]

    http://www.gq.com/news-politics/newsmakers/201211/sean-flynn-j-christopher-stevens-benghazi-libya-ambassador

    [snip]

On the morning of September 11, when the American flag flew at half-mast above the U.S. mission in Benghazi, J. Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, had breakfast with a man named Habib Bubaker.

    [snip]

Stevens planned to stay in Benghazi for five days. He’d had meetings in the city on Monday, and he would have more outside the compound on Wednesday. On Thursday, perhaps the most important day of his visit, he planned to turn over the Benghazi mission to the Libyans. The compound would be rechristened “an American Space,” and it would offer English lessons and Internet access and show films and stock a library. The United States would provide some computers, books, and the rest of the materials and support—but it would be owned and operated by locals. “An American Space,” Stevens planned to say, “is a living example of the kind of partnership between our two countries which we hope to inspire.”

    Obama’s Way
    By Michael Lewis
[Doing twitter trackbacks on topsy released online 9/11/2012]

    http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/2012/10/michael-lewis-profile-barack-obama

    [snip]

“Bonjour,” said Bubaker, or maybe not—he has forgotten the first thing out of his mouth. But in response Tyler Stark said something and Bubaker instantly recognized the accent. “Are you American?” asked Bubaker. Stark said he was.
    [snip]

The story would have become a much simpler one, ripe for exploitation by his foes: how a president elected to extract us from a war in one Arab country got Americans killed in another. If Stark had come to grief, the Libyan intervention would no longer have been the hole in the White House lawn. It would have been the Churchill bust. That is why Obama says that, as obvious as it seems in retrospect to have prevented a massacre in Benghazi, it was at the time “one of those 51–49 decisions.”
