There are literally dozens and dozens of Treehouse articles on Egypt and Libya available via the drop down category links on the right side of this page (great job StellaP and Ad rem).   From the moment the entire situation in Egypt began we categorized factual first hand reports of the elements behind, and taking advantage of, the uprisings.     Despite the claims of Western media, which coincidently quickly diminished from visibility when CBS reporter Lara Logan was brutally raped in Tahrir Square, Egypt is a far cry from a freedom loving crew of Facebookers yearning to be free.
A more apt description is a resurgence of radical islamic sentiment and a return to Muslim Brotherhood supported ‘sharia compliant’ muslim society.   The young facebookers were merely useful pawns in drawing Western support toward their goals.   By using internationally visible psychological operations to create their curtain of false optics the radical elements are working diligently to advance their cause.   This cause specifically also includes Egypt’s Western border neighbor, Libya.
Benghazi is the center of Islamic political ideology in Libya, and the man in charge of that operation is former Libyan Justice Minister Mustafa Abdel-Jalil who was “chosen” by the political organization of the rebellion to head up the transitional government and be the leader of their organization.   We began discovering Abdel-jalil’s ideology back in March.  The relationship between Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, their leader Mohamed El-Baradi and the Libyan rebels led by Mustafa Abdel-Jalil is so important to understand that I am providing the context information again.   This is the basis for what might be many years of United States involvement.
The media in the western world would have us believe that the Egyptian military is a conduit to a “Democratic” Egypt. But that is NOT the case. The military in Egypt has been the central branch of economic power for decades. They are a self-serving entity of omnipotent power, and the receivers of billions of dollars in U.S. aid and funding for almost 40 years. During the uprising in Egypt the media claimed the Egyptian Military was an arbitrary altruistic endeavor, protecting the ‘people’ of Egypt from a ruthless dictator.
Yet no one seemed to ever ask how the allegiance of said military was able to switch directions so fast from supporter of all things Mubarak to his adversary and proponent of the democratic citizenry.
This seemingly obvious question was just ignored by every media outlet. Once the popularity of the story faded from the 24-hour newsrooms, and attentions were turned elsewhere, it appears no one was actually looking at Egypt to see what the outcome is becoming for such an unusual coup. Well, allow me to present this update for your consideration. You decide for yourself whether the Military Control over Egypt is actually a positive outcome.
An ominous news report from Egypt, the arrest, conviction, and sentencing of Egyptian activist Amr Abdallah Elbihiry, 33. Elbihiry was sentenced to five years in prison by Egypt’s Supreme Military Court on Wednesday, four days after he was arrested by the military police at a peaceful sit-in. Al Jazeera:

The arrest and sentencing of Amr Abdallah Elbihiry, 33, an Egyptian activist, has sparked outrage among pro-democracy activists and human rights groups in Egypt.
Elbihiry was convicted and sentenced to five years in military prison on Wednesday by Egypt’s Supreme Military Court, after being charged with assaulting a public official on duty and for breaking curfew.
Elbihiry was arrested during the early hours of Saturday morning, in front of the Council of Ministers headquarters, at a peaceful demonstration demanding the resignation of Ahmed Shafiq, the interim prime minister.
He was one of a group of protesters that took part in a peaceful sit-in, which was violently dispersed by the Egyptian armed forces, and military police. Protesters were reportedly beaten with sticks, others with electric shock batons.

The very same Egyptian military who, after the protests began in Egypt on January 25th, played–very well–the part of the protesters’ ‘protectors’ against the Egyptian state police. In some news reports, the military handed out water bottles and gave away candy to protesters. (read more)
At least that is the way the media played up the story…… “Freedom Square” right? “Freedom,” that is the picture the media would have us believe. Yet it just doesn’t reconcile with this arrest, conviction and detention, does it? Also, why haven’t you heard about the Egyptian Military entering Libya to attack Quackdaffy’s army? What’s that you say…..? Having a *Whiskey*Tango*Foxtrot* moment?….. Read on…….
Also reported in the news back in March, Egyptian military special forces are in Libya, backing the rebels fighting Gaddafi.

Egyptian special forces have been secretly entering Libya to back the rebellion against Moammar Gaddafi, the Mirror newspaper reported on Thursday. The elite troops moved in as the Libyan leader vowed to die in Libya.
The British newspaper reported that Egyptian troops have been allowed into Libya by Tunisian soldiers – as a sign of increasing Arab support to the anti-Gaddafi uprising. (read more)

Just doesn’t reconcile with the narrative the media was feeding us does it? Funny that…. Then again, really not so funny…. More like Alarming. ! /SD
Read on….. please ! (But first some context)

Isaiah 19
A Prophecy Against Egypt
1 A prophecy against Egypt:
See, the LORD rides on a swift cloud
and is coming to Egypt.
The idols of Egypt tremble before him,
and the hearts of the Egyptians melt with fear.
2 “I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian—
brother will fight against brother,
neighbor against neighbor,
city against city,
kingdom against kingdom.
3 The Egyptians will lose heart,
and I will bring their plans to nothing;
they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead,
the mediums and the spiritists.
4 I will hand the Egyptians over
to the power of a cruel master,
and a fierce king will rule over them,”
declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty…….

The Mubarak dictatorship crumbled, the Muslim Brotherhood announced that regimes will fall all over the Middle East and the radical left in America and internationally is cheering them on. (Of course). The unholy alliance between the radical secular left and the forces of the Islamic jihad was forged a long time ago in the crucial of the Palestinian Islamic jihad against Israel and the West. Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood as are the Muslim Students Association, CAIR and every major Muslim organization in America. The MSA and the pro-Palestinian left was part of the coalition of radical organizations that defended the Saddam regime during the lead up to the Iraq war and was on the steering committee of the International Answer demonstrations. Yassir Arafat was one of Saddam’s leading cheerleaders when Iraq tried to swallow Kuwait, triggering the first Gulf War. The roots of the alliance we see shaping up in the Egyptian struggle are deep.
We saw the unholy alliance at work in the Hamas-inspired campaign to break the Gaza blockade. Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn were leaders of the American wing of the Hamas coalition against the blockade and went to Gaza to meet with Hamas shortly before the terrorist Flotilla was intercepted by Israeli forces. The Gaza blockade was jointly instituted by Israel and Egypt – by the Mubarak regime in Egypt. (Mubarak had outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood after they attempted to asassinate him). Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood’s army. If the Muslim Brotherhood replaces the Mubarak regime, Hamas’s war against the Jews will be immeasureably strengthened. The radical left in America and internationally is committed to Hamas and its genocidal campaign against the Jews and its general war against the United States. That is why the fate of Egypt in this crisis resonates for all of us.
And if the snake Mohammed ElBaradei forms a national unity government with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Brotherhood will be the new government of Egypt. Perhaps that is why we are seeing Egyptian Tanks moving into Libya to support the removal of Quackdaffy. The Egyptian army may now be influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood and their ‘more than likely’ rise to power. The military leaders either have to commit to following the Brotherhoods’ agenda, or face the possibility of removal at the hands of Radical Islamists. Remember this is not a ‘western democracy’, this is an opportunistic power move created by a vacumn in leadership from Mubarak’s removal, and Islamists control the most significant percentages of the Egyptian population.
But why would a Muslim Brotherhood influenced Egyptian military move in to support the anti-Kadaffi resistance group? Well you have to consider since March the rebels appointed Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, Libya’s former Justice Minister, to form a new transitional government in Benghazi. Of course, it is good that someone is stepping up to the plate to take over Libya, since that may prevent the country from erupting into civil war. But, depending on who takes over Libya once Muammar Quackdaffy is finally removed from power after ruling Libya with an iron fist for 42 years, Libya may go from bad to worse. Both for the welfare of the people of Libya and the peace and stability of the rest of the world, starting in Europe.
Above I have outlined, with specific notations, my suspicion that Egypt will become an Islamic republic, like Iran, in the not-distant future. Judging by Abdel-Jalil, I suspect the same terrible fate may await Libya.   Why do I say that? Sometimes the simplest answers are right in front of your face. Take a close look at his picture of Mustaffa Abdel-Jalil.

Mustaffa Abdel-Jalil

Do you see anything interesting? If not, look at the following picture of Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s second banana, and see if you can see anything in common.
Ayman Al-Zawahiri

OK, if you said that they are both wearing silly headgear, you would be partially correct. But, what is more telling is the dark spot on their foreheads. That is known as a “prayer bump” or zebiba. Perhaps you would consider it a mark of the Islamist. Devout Muslims get it by banging their heads on the ground 5 times per day. It is actually a considerable “mark of pride.” After all, the word Islam means “submission” in Arabic.
The Basics of the Muslim’s Prayer, 1st Edition, 1423-2002″ states:

The Sujiud (Prostration): It is obligatory to go down to the floor and prostrate by pressing your bare forehead, and putting your palms, knees, and pads of the toes on the floor. Both feet are kept vertical with the heels up and the toepads down touching the floor. Stay still in this position for at least the time it takes to say subhanallah (figure-5-).

This is accompanied by the following drawing:

The media is basically ignoring any investigative Mid-East journalism, in part because of the cultural challenge, and in part because of fear, and in part because they are complicit in the eventuality. Therefore it is almost impossible to ascertain if Abdel-Jalil is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. However, there is no doubt that he is a very pious Muslim. This probably means that his beliefs echo those of the Muslim Brotherhood, and that he wants to see Sharia law instituted, rather than a secular democracy. At the very least, given his Islamic devotion, he would not be opposed to Sharia. (Remember, Islam and democracy are mutually exclusive.)
(*UPDATE NOTE*  Since the original information presented here the newly released draft constitution from the rebel council led by Mustafa Abdel-Jalil specifically states that “Sharia Law” will be the framework of governance and legal systems in Libya now. So this is no longer a prediction or hypothesis, it is indeed the anticipated and desired outcome of the rebel leadership.)
As brutal and insane as Quackdaffy is, he was, basically, a secularist. Specifically, he was a Communist radical, just like Castro and Hugo Chavez; And, like both of those demons did to their countries, he succeeded in turning Libya into a fascist Hell hole. (*note* While essentially a secularist, it is interesting that Quackdaffy named his daughter Aisha. Aisha was Mohammad’s favorite wife. Mohammad married her when she was 6 and he was in his 50s′; he waited until she was 9 to consummate the marriage.)
Already, in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood is making its considerably ominous inroads. Not only have they formed a party to run in any elections, but Egyptian Muslims are feeling more empowered to attack Christians. It now looks like Libya will go from a Communistic fascist regime to an Islamo-fascist regime. Setting the stage for many more countries in the area to fall into a similar trap.
The shock is not the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya, the shock is a Main Stream Media Outlet CNN finally, however slanted and flawed their view, reporting about it. But in the interest of accuracy I will also attach my researched perspective into some flawed elements within the article itself…
(CNN) Dr. Abdulmonem Hresha knows first hand how Moammar Gadhafi’s regime works. He says the seeds of his opposition were sown when he was age 10. He and classmates were taken to witness the public execution of a political opponent of Gadhafi. “They hung him up in front of thousands of small kids,” Hresha said. “He did that to scare people.”
Hresha, who taught physics at Tripoli University, later fled to Canada. The prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood now lives in London, and anticipates the group could become an important player in a post-Gadhafi environment. As in Egypt and Tunisia, the Brotherhood in Libya has been energized by the sudden upheaval sweeping the Arab world. It says it has no organizational links with the Brotherhood elsewhere, but shares the philosophy of the pan-Arab Islamist movement founded in Egypt in the 1920s.
[not entirely accurate, the MB is a cellular organizational structure like the al-Queda model. While they do not need to talk to each other frequently, each individual element within the MB model operates similarly within its geographic region]

Sheikh Mohamad Darnawi in the bottom right leads the meeting at the city hall of Baida.

Largely drawn from the devout educated middle classes and university campuses in Tripoli and Benghazi, the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood was founded in the mid-1950s. Islamist opposition to the Libyan regime gathered force in the late 1980s, as part of a wider Islamic awakening or “Sahwa” in the region and in reaction to what many saw as an attempt by Gadhafi to hijack and interpret Islam for his own purposes. While jihadists launched a brief but unsuccessful campaign to overthrow Gadhafi in the 1990s, the Brotherhood focused much of its efforts on clandestine preaching and social welfare efforts in Libya.
[to learn more about the Muslim Brotherhood in their own words, some of which contradict this edict, go here]
In 1998, Gadhafi’s security services launched a crackdown against the group that saw more than 200 members imprisoned and hundreds more forced into exile, including Hresha. espite years of repression, Hresha claims the Brotherhood still has thousands of members scattered across Libya, with chapters in almost every single town, including Sirte, Gadhafi’s birthplace on the coast west of Tripoli. In 2006, its leaders were released after reconciling with the Libyan regime. But now the Brotherhood is siding with the rebellion.
[an unusual alliance between MB and al-Qaeda has formed, both aligned by their radical Islamist ideology. The MB pushing West from the Eastern city of Benghazi, and AQIM pushing North from Southern tribal regions toward Tripoli]
Yusaf al-Qaradawi Muslim Brotherhood Spiritual Leader
In February, as protests in Libya began, Yusuf al Qaradawi — an Egyptian preacher in Qatar widely viewed as the Muslim Brotherhood’s chief spiritual guide — issued a fatwa or religious ruling obliging any Libyan soldier who had the opportunity to do so to assassinate the leader. Al-Amin Bilhaj, a leading figure in the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood and the President of the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) recently traveled to Benghazi, the headquarters of the rebel movement, according to Hresha. Other Brotherhood exiles have returned to help treat the wounded in hospitals, according to Kemal el Helbawy, the Egyptian founder of the British association.
[Note the ire toward Gadafi is exactly similar as the ire toward Hosni Mubarak. Both Gadafi and Mubarak banned the Muslim Brotherhood within their nations. This was due to radical anti-governmental operations. In Egypt they attempted to overthrow the government with the assassination of Anwar Sadat, in Libya they needed to eliminate Gadafi. Their intentions in both nations are not altruistic]
There is little or no overt presence of the Brotherhood in Benghazi, according to CNN’s Arwa Damon, who has been there for most of the month. But in the longer term, in a country where the political space has been dominated by Gadhafi for more than 40 years, the Brotherhood’s organization and nationwide presence may afford it an advantage. The West has nothing to fear from the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya, according to Hresha. Like their counterparts in Egypt, they would embrace multiparty democracy. “I’ve lived for many years in Canada and the UK, and that’s exactly the political system that we want,” Hresha said. Hresha says that if his organization forms a political party, it would seek to legislate according to Koranic principles, which would include, for example, a continued ban on the sale of alcohol.
[The first part of this is pure Taqiyya and media manipulation. It is the same position and exact verbage used in Egypt. Obviously there was no “overt presence” in Benghazi (Eastern City near Egypt/Libya border), they were outlawed so it is disingenuous for a Western reporter to claim they are not highly visible. *Aaaargh* Secondly, to reflect that the West has nothing to fear from the Brotherhood means we would need to completely discount and ignore all their attachments to terroristic activities. Thirdly, to claim they want multi-party democracy is more applied manipulations. When given the opportunity within a highly charged Islamitic election the radicals win, they know this. Democracy and Islamic/Koranic law are in direct opposition to each other, they cannot co-exist. So yes, they do seek a majority political system, an islamic one]
“Why shouldn’t we be able to press our point of view — we are humans too,” he said. Hresha said the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood welcomes airstrikes in Libya, a startling turnaround for a movement that previously supported jihad by Iraqis against U.S. forces occupying Iraq. “I salute and am very grateful to the Americans, French and British governments for stopping the killing,” he said. “I will never forget this.”
[Indeed, why wouldn’t they support the West eliminating their enemy (Gadafi). Essentially we are doing the heavy lifting for them. This is not a turnaround. They welcome airstrikes because it is accomplishing the goal of MB/AQIM – removal of Gadafi and implementation of radical islamic rule. We are complete idiots for helping them.]
Hresha said he hopes a post-Gadhafi Libya will be a close friend to the West. A more prominent role for the Brotherhood in Libya could dent support for al Qaeda and other jihadist groups, especially in eastern provinces that have witnessed significant radicalization in recent years. But Libya’s deeply tribal structures — unlike Egypt and Tunisia — may complicate its efforts to build a national base. And hardline “Salafi” preachers have gained influence in neglected towns like Derna — on the coast near the border with Egypt. “Conservative imams (in Derna),” a U.S. diplomat wrote in 2008, “deliberately sought to eliminate the few social activities on offer for young people to monopolize the social and cultural environment.”
[read that again and pay attention. Positioning in the ‘end game’ for the Muslim Brotherhood to be viewed by the West as the lesser of two evils. Do you see it? The outcome they are trying to create is exactly like Afghanistan. A competition for tribal loyalty against the West. Also, you can see an admission of geographical ideology. Closer to Egypt = more hardline approach, a more oppressive islamic ideology]
Mustafa Abdel-Jalil (Picture taken Feb. 27th) Leader of Benghazi Opposition Council

But in the end, the reach of the Brotherhood may be most limited by the emergence of secular forces at the forefront of the rebel movement. The Interim National Council in Benghazi — a 30-member opposition leadership — is mostly made up of lawyers, doctors, intellectuals and former political prisoners with a secular bent. In a statement Monday, the Council stated the ultimate goal of the revolution was “to build a constitutional democratic civil state based on the rule of law, respect for human rights and the guarantee of equal rights and opportunities for all its citizens including … equal opportunities between men and women and the promotion of women empowerment.”
[“A democratic civil state based on the rule of law”, what type of law do you envision that to be? Sharia? – BINGO ! Respect for human rights within the framework of Islam/Sharia and womens “empowerment” according to Islam. Not the Western view of women’s empowerment / women’s rights. That is laughable when you look at how they are treating women in Egypt now Post Mubarak, far worse than previous and that was horrid by itself. Remember this Benghazi ‘council’ is where Mustafa abdel-jallil comes in.]
Guma el-Gamaty, a Libyan academic based in the UK who has emerged as a key liaison between the Libyan opposition overseas and the Benghazi Council said no Muslim Brotherhood leaders had yet been appointed to the Council, and played down their influence. Hresha, the long-time Brotherhood member, expects that to change.
[key word “yet”, and playing down the influence just like in Egypt. Its deja-vu all over again. Yeah, it will change. It will change quickly. Just look next door…]
We’ve been working secretly till this moment,” he said.
[‘nuf said…….. ]
