At the Procession with Palms – Gospel
When Jesus and the disciples drew near Jerusalem
and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives,
Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them,
“Go into the village opposite you,
and immediately you will find an ass tethered,
and a colt with her.
Untie them and bring them here to me.
And if anyone should say anything to you, reply,
‘The master has need of them.’
Then he will send them at once.”
This happened so that what had been spoken through the prophet
might be fulfilled:
Say to daughter Zion,
“Behold, your king comes to you,
meek and riding on an ass,
and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.”
The disciples went and did as Jesus had ordered them.
They brought the ass and the colt and laid their cloaks over them,
and he sat upon them.
The very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road,
while others cut branches from the trees
and strewed them on the road.
The crowds preceding him and those following
kept crying out and saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David;
blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord;
hosanna in the highest.”
And when he entered Jerusalem
the whole city was shaken and asked, “Who is this?”
And the crowds replied,
“This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.”
May God bless the good (and not so good) people of America on this holy day.
You are never alone in faith Gods arms are always around you. Praise him.
Gracious Sunday morning to you, Patrick, our Treeper across the pond.
May Almighty God’s blessings rest with you as well, and all your countrymen in these perilous times.🙏🏻
Is this posted on auto-pilot or is Menagerie up at this time of morning?
Bishop Barron? No thanks…
Good Lord no thanks!! How about Wilton Gregory or even Bernardin? I’m afraid you picked the wrong bish. At least for those of us here who identify as Traditional Roman Catholics.
I identify as Catholic. I picked a message. I’m just not good enough for you I suppose.
you picked a good message Menagerie .
Happy Palm Sunday to you
Thank you, and to you as well.
Thank you Menagerie for the effort you put in to bring us these posts. 🕊💕
This was a great message, that I had not considered about “the Master is in need of it.”
This message is for all Christians on Palm Sunday. I am a protestant or non-denominational.
The most important question question is, does it line up with God’s Word?
Thank you, for bringing us God’s Word this Palm Sunday.
Menagerie, I am not Roman Catholic nor associated with any church denomination. I study the Bible under Pre-Tribulation Dispensational teachings. I find nothing in Bishop Barron’s homily that disagrees with what I understand about our Father and His will, His Grace, and His agapé love for us, and His Son Jesus Christ.
This is an exceptionally good message that universally applies to all Christians. Thank you for posting it this Palm Sunday morning.
A happy & peaceful Palm Sunday to you.
Thank you GB, but they won’t watch it. The message is lost in the stance for lots of people.
I found the message thought provoking & inspiring. Thank you. ❤️
So did I. Thank you, Menagerie.
Menagerie, I must admit that I am shocked that any Treeper would make such selfish, negative scolding comments as William Ware and Les Newcomb…whoever they may be. Were their words God inspired words, I wonder?
I am also Catholic, and I am feeling rather humiliated right now that on this post, on Palm Sunday, that self-righteous bigotry would be so exposed.
I rarely comment on your page, Menagerie, but I just want you to know that I really appreciate your writings and all the extra effort you put forth to help Treepers.
God Bless You and Your Loved Ones.
Bigotry? Look at the way this pope and certain bishops treat Traditional Catholics. Talk about selective outrage.
Yeah, I guess we should just take our beatings and smile, huh? We are fighting for the Magisterium and the Mass of the Saints.
“self-righteous bigotry” Pointing out that Bishop Barron fails to defend the teachings of the Catholic Church is now bigotry. Beautiful.
I wouldn’t give Bishop Barron even one minute of my time.
It’s not the message, it’s the bishop. Don’t you have a clue about the treatment of Traditional Catholics?
I know all about it.
I really don’t know anything about Bishop Barron. Some of the responses here indicate that he as messenger overshadowed the message. I thought the message was beautiful. Imagine a world where everyone acted for The Master’s purposes and glory alone.
‘Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
Amen, Amazing Gracie. Amen.
This reminds me of:
“Art: The little lights…they aren’t twinkling. Clark: I know, Art. Thanks for noticing.”
Beautiful message Menagerie, thanks.
Perhaps you should look into why a lot of us Catholics have a problem with Bishop Barron.
I know why you do. Perhaps you should look into not feeling the need to make your bitter feelings the center point of a Palm Sunday post meant to help people prepare for Holy Week.
“Perhaps you should look into not feeling the need to make your bitter feelings the center point of a Palm Sunday post meant to help people prepare for Holy Week.” This was not the intent of my post, and you know it.
I understand the bitter feelings. But since coming to the realization that Vatican2 was the installation of a fake church, just like the deep state installed Joe biden, these Nuchurch guys don’t bother me, any more than the women “pastors” of the Protestants or Episcopalians bother me…in fact, they are the same, or will be very soon. It is a new …”conciliar” church, just ask Bergoglio. I was a Protestant for a long time, and there are an awful lot of truly faith filled people there. I consider all Christians on the path. But the V2 Nuchurch is filled with wolves posing as good shepherds who, if they aren’t denying the dogmas of the Faith, they are not defending them..
amen
Again. Why post this on a Palm Sunday thread? If you read through the comments on this post, it was totally derailed by a faction of Catholics who will not, absolutely will not let other people have a time or place to share faith without finding something offensive about it.
I doubt that I could get any more traditional in my Catholic beliefs. I strive to live out what the Church teaches, and in those areas I struggle, I pray to be corrected. I never think that my opinion, that my interpretation, is superior to the Word of God.
In other words, I have much in common with so called Traditional Catholics. I imagine we are right in line on almost every belief and practice of our faith, with the exception of attending the Latin Mass in the Ancient form. I have, but it is not something I do regularly.
But I find their constant condemnations tiring and pride filled. There are a lot of sites out there where I could go and jump into the fray where those people share their beliefs. Strangely enough, I manage to respect their opinions and not try to take over and divert their conversations.
Christians of many denominations, or none at all, come here and share and find common ground. Not these people.
I don’t think it’s fair to say I have bitter feelings. I’m frustrated, and I do not understand the simple concept of just not understanding that you don’t have to like everything posted on the internet.
I apologize. My intent was not to take over anything at all, but to simply remind Trads that they are getting upset over a bishop of a different religion altogether. This thread is apparently one of those minefield threads like the 9/11 thread. PLEASE delete my offending posts.
Amen
Maybe you should understand a Baltimore Catechism. Then you would not be so offensive to those of us who do. Stop the crap.You are offensive, and use your position here to foster hatred to believing “Original” Traditional Catholics. Disgusting. Go join the DOJ, and the FBI. See you in Church???
Do you have to work hard to be such a jerk, or does it come naturally?
Not a member of the V2 “conciliar” Nuchurch or a fan of the “musclebishop”, but his message here is good. I am a sede and I watched it. Happy Palm Sunday!
I know, and some identify as Men or Women. I told you I identify as a Traditional Roman Catholic. Don’t start on me on this thread. Please stay in the shallow end. Sacred scripture,,, and Sacred Tradition defines us. Don’t be so thin skinned. Because “You”identify as a Catholic does not mean you and I have the same views. You and Pelosi are Catholics. So are you and Biden. I am Not. Do you now ban memoir wrong think? I hope not. It’s Easter week. That means”Holy Week”
You’re a nasty piece of work. There was no reason at all to hijack this post and make it about your beliefs.
You picked a good message Menagerie, but the messenger is suspect. Bp. Barron is a modernist who makes an idol to be worshipped out of the second Vatican council. He disregards many of the dogmatic teachings of the faith that originate from the 20 ecumenical councils that preceded Vatican II. He has also espoused some extremely heterodox positions of late, such as “a reasonable hope that all are saved” which directly contradicts the Catholic dogma Extra Eclessium Nulla Salus. Traditional Catholicism and prelates who are orthodox are preferable in all charity.
I know exactly why Trads have a problem with him. Traditional Catholicism and prelates who are orthodox are not my concern in these posts, nor are they my audience. I’m attempting to write for Christians who frequent this site. The message matters. I am not going to run it through the filter of what is acceptable to Trad Catholics.
The messages, the videos that I share I hope will be of value to Christians.
All of them.
You wouldn’t select a video by Barack Obama or Joe Biden to represent an American message to people, would you? The divide in Catholicism in not between latin mass going trads and novus ordo loving modernists. but rather between Catholics and apostates and heretics in the church. One must except all the dogmatic teachings of the faith to be considered Catholic. The primacy of conscience peddled in Vatican II was a trojan horse designed to weaken the magisterium and introduce innovations that diverge from the Catholic religion as always understood. Barron and many of the other idolators of Vatican II reject aspects of Catholic theology and moral theology specifically, which puts them outside the church, just as Obama or Biden’s denial of the primacy of the US constitution makes them unamerican.
This site does not exist to cater to Trad Catholics. It isn’t Catholic at all, and I find it insulting that Traditional Catholics have demanded that. What I post is meant to appeal to Christians as a whole.
I am not about to stop and ask myself if what I post will meet the Trad dictates. Best you guys skip over these posts and let the other Christians reflect in peace.
There are no trad Catholics. There are Catholics, schismatics, heretics, apostates, and heathens. This is a Catholic belief. You are Catholic. Why select a bishop who is at best questionably Catholic? The goal of all Catholics from the resurrection until 1968 is the conversion of the world. How do we convert the world using someone who denies our central beliefs? The suggestion to consider the messenger was made charitably out of a love of Christ and His mystical body. I wish you a joyous Holy Week.
Thank you too, Les!
Traditional Roman Catholics
I’m afraid, or should I say , I’m proud to say
Do not speak as you do sir.
☘️
Like you know. Just stop it. “Do not speak as I do ” thanks for the tip. And now do what you do best.
I don’t know a lot about the subject but people might be interested in a video of a discussion with Bp Baron and Shia LaBeouf re: Traditional Latin Mass.
This is why Shia’s movie as never released. Deep church is as bad as deep state, and they work together.
Thanks for saying, I was concerned I was the only one with this sentiment!
You know, those of you with this sentiment are cordially invited to skip this post. There was absolutely nothing in it compelling any of our readers to click and read this post.
The only question one needs to ask regardless the messenger, “Is the message relevant to the subject and Gospel centered?”
This one was spot on, excellent choice…and Thank you for providing this for Palm Sunday. God bless.
Hi William Ware,
I’m a Latin Mass loving, Rosary praying Catholic, as you might gather from my avatar which I’ve used for 15 years, which is a statue of Mary.
Thanks for inspiring me to watch Bishop Barron’s video. If not for the controversy caused by your post, it’s likely I would have quite honestly been too lazy to do so. And then I would have missed out on a good sermon.
I would encourage you to watch and listen to the video, and if you can quote a point in it with which you disagree, I’d be happy to discuss it with you in a civil and courteous manner.
God bless you this Holy Week.
PAX ET BONUM
It wasn’t the message. It’s the other things that Barron has said and done.
This post was never about Bishop Barron. You comments are off topic and mean spirited. Perhaps in the future you would be so kind as to just pass by the religious posts as they will not meet your standards.
I agree! It is the messenger whom I believe is a hypocrite. There, I said it.
There! You are just so very brave. In future I suggest you stay off these threads or I will put you in moderation. Today was all about Trad angst and took away the focus of this post. I won’t allow that to happen again, which means you’re going to wind up in moderation waiting for approval.
Prayer, Fasting and Alms Giving ~ is the solution Christ gives for solving any problems we may ~think are occuring in Our Church or our lives. … Bishop Barron proclaims a Christian message. = “Because when you serve the Lord Jesus Christ, it’s not a type of servitude. It’s not a kind of enslavement. In fact, it’s a liberation.”
+’For we are not struggling against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, the powers, and the cosmic rulers of this present darkness, and against the spirits of evil in the heavens.’ ~ The Goodbook
Thank you Lord for your Blessing on this Nation. We pray for all those in need, those that are hungry and destitute, and we thank you for saving us dear Lord Jesus, amen.

Palm Sunday – painting in the church in the Jerusalem
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Dear brethren (brothers and sisters),
since the beginning of Lent until now
we have prepared our hearts by penance and charitable works.
Today we gather together to herald with the whole Church
the beginning of the celebration
of our Lord’s Paschal Mystery,
that is to say, of his Passion and Resurrection.
For it was to accomplish this mystery
that he entered his own city of Jerusalem.
Therefore, with all faith and devotion,
let us commemorate
the Lord’s entry into the city for our salvation,
following in his footsteps,
so that, being made by his grace partakers of the Cross,
we may have a share also in his Resurrection and in his life. Amen.
The Donkey
When fishes flew and forests walked
And figs grew upon thorn,
Some moment when the moon was blood
Then surely I was born.
With monstrous head and sickening cry
And ears like errant wings,
The devil’s walking parody
On all four-footed things.
The tattered outlaw of the earth,
Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me:
I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.
Fools! For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.

Blessings to all in our Tree on this Palm Sunday
Blessing to you dearest Bett
off to mass
thank you for the poem
it is very nice
have a good morning
And to you, dear molon.
There are a few legends related to the donkey of Palm Sunday… but it was once thought that the donkey was the offspring of the one who Carried Our Lady.
…and then the cross upon its back-the donkey coat colors…
https://morningbrayfarm.com/2011/04/17/legend-of-the-donkeys-cross/
My dog peeps who engage in herding….keep a donkey in the sheep paddock….The donkey will go after and kill any coyote that breeches the paddock in search of sheep as an easy meal. Coincidence? I doubt it.
You do well to doubt it, Aggiegirl. There are no coincidences. Those donkeys have the instinct and are loving animals, if people only knew.
The first time I walked my sheltie near the paddock, the donkeys were extremely vocal. When out to pasture, the donkey stays close to the sheep.
For later this week….
“Tend my lambs”…or “Feed my sheep”.
Been contemplating this for the last month. Never work for your money.
PARMA, ITALY The fresco of Entry of Jesus in Jerusalem Palm Sundy in Duomo
Isaiah 50:4-7
The Lord God has given me
a well-trained tongue,
that I might know how to speak to the weary
a word that will rouse them.
Morning after morning
he opens my ear that I may hear;
and I have not rebelled,
have not turned back.
I gave my back to those who beat me,
my cheeks to those who plucked my beard;
my face I did not shield
from buffets and spitting.
The Lord God is my help,
therefore I am not disgraced;
I have set my face like flint,
knowing that I shall not be put to shame.

A good message.
Thank you

Psalm 22:8-9, 17-20, 23-24
R. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
All who see me scoff at me;
they mock me with parted lips, they wag their heads:
“He relied on the Lord; let him deliver him,
let him rescue him, if he loves him.” R.
Indeed, many dogs surround me,
a pack of evildoers closes in upon me;
they have pierced my hands and my feet;
I can count all my bones. R.
They divide my garments among them,
and for my vesture they cast lots.
But you, O Lord, be not far from me;
O my help, hasten to aid me. R.
I will proclaim your name to my brethren;
in the midst of the assembly I will praise you:
“You who fear the Lord, praise him;
all you descendants of Jacob, give glory to him;
revere him, all you descendants of Israel!” R.
Thank you for posting — The above message hit home. “The master has need of it” – On those days where I don’t know what my intended “purpose” is for I will remind myself that the talents and gifts the good lord gave me are for a very GOOD reason and to keep moving forward in grace.
“The master has need of it” passage always speaks to me!
Like you, Lot, it pops off the page into my heart!
Today, for me, Jesus’ words apply to physical and emotional suffering.
Our bodies belong to Him, and He will use anything in our lives to make us more like Himself.
And, for others to see Christ in us while we go through difficulties in a Godly way – not like the world does.
Yes, He gives us grace – amazing grace!
Blessings
🌷🌷
Amen
Thank you Jesus, thank you God. We await your return.
Jesus Christ, we come before you with thanksgiving as we celebrate Palm Sunday. It’s the day we commemorate your entry into Jerusalem on a mission to pay for our sins and to give us eternal life. You knew the anguish awaiting you and you still proceeded so that your father’s will would be fulfilled. Your love and obedience saved us, and now we are the children of God. Thank you. Amen
Yet another political comment deleted. Go post this on the daily Political thread!
This is NOT a bible study site, or is it? Such a shame to hide.
Good grief, you’ve got so many political posts on this site. One of the comment guidelines Sundance has posted at the very top of the page is stay on topic. Political posts are not on topic.
I am done with those who can’t follow such simple and respectful guidelines.
Menagerie,
Your message today is much appreciated.❤️
It could be a therapy; a cure

self-loathing- projectionist.
Thank you for all that you do Menagerie. This is classic trolling, over look the message and destroy the messenger.
We love you, that’s all that matters.
Great and important post especially with what we are experiencing in the world.
God Bless!
God is good 🙏 all the time God is good. God so loved the world he gave his only son. Praying for Peace amen.

Today let us all remember Pope John Paul II’s entrance into Eternal Life.
Born May 18, 1920 – Died April 2, 2005
He is now Saint Pope John Paul II and is interceding for us before God the Father in Heaven.
May God bless and keep all of you safe. We ask this in the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
I have always thought highly of Pope John Paul II 🕊
“We should ask ourselves if the ignorance of the Jewish people due to the corruption of the Sanhedrin does not sound like a terrible warning for today’s High Priests, who are equally responsible for the ignorance of the Christian people; and if the threat that the High Priests then saw in the meek Nazarene who performed miracles and preached the Gospel, to the point of plotting to send him to death by the hand of the civil authority, should not make the present High Priests tremble, who even today resort to the kings of the earth and to princes in order to impede His Kingdom, with the sole intention of maintaining their power and social prestige.”—Carlo Maria Viganò, Archbishop, 15 April 2022. Feria VI in Parasceve, Good Friday 2022.
Thank you.
Were You there, When they Crucified my Lord ?
Philippians 2:6-11
Brothers and sisters: Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;
and found human in appearance,
he humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

“And though he never ever did a single thing wrong, the angry crowd chose him. And then he walked down the road and died on a cross, and that was the end… of the beginning.”
But, three days later…

It is amazing the confluence of Old Testament prophecy that comes with today’s scripture!! Zechariah, Isaiah, Jeremiah. Jesus is the fulfillment of all that. It is equally amazing how one does not believe. The god of this world has blinded those who are perishing.
Years ago, when I was young and rather snotty, an elderly lady told me that there were only two things I needed to know about God. After years of Catholic schooling, I chuckled inwardly and thought, “Bring it, Grandma!” She informed me that “First, there’s just one God. And second, You’re not Him.” It wasn’t put quite that way in my Baltimore Catechism, but, the old gal was so right! Have had that lesson highlighted every day since! Thank you for today’s powerful message and reminder!
Shari Steinbruner,
Elders always know the enormous dimension of Truth by very few words.
The vitriol directed at Menagerie is breathtaking.
Some of these commenters are acting as though she burned down an orphanage or something.
I guess it’s just the nature of some people to be nasty contraians just for the sake of being nasty contraians.
Thanks Menagerie.
I appreciate and enjoy reading your posts as they are always positive and uplifting.
Happy Easter to you and yours.
if you’re not taking hits for God you’re not in the game…God can’t steer a parked car. Naysayers arguing secondary aspects are fully missing the point.
Menagerie is in good company advocating for The Faith.
Jonathan Cahn is among the best I have found that brings together the teachings of both Judaism and Christianity.
The link below is his sermon about Palm Sunday.
If you look through his other sermon’s he also talks about how PDJT’s role in prophecy.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
John 1:29
Menagerie, I am a follower of Jesus Christ first. Non-Catholic, non-denomination, and a Reformed Protestant.
But I do thank you for bringing the Gospel message, God’s Word, today. That is the most important point of all.
Mature believers should remember the bedrock foundation of their faith : we are sinners, Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended into Heaven, where He now reigns. He left us His Holy Spirit for all who believe in Him. One day we will be with Him in heaven forever. There will be no denominations or divisions there.
All of us who are believers should live by His Spirit, and let God sort it all out. This includes being respectful of others.
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! Psalm 133:1
Again, thank you, for proclaiming the Gospel here.
Amen
Beautiful.
Thank you Lord!
Although I personally do not subscribe to the Catholic tradition, I have very much enjoyed the many messages that you have brought to us.
