Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Happy Caturday, y’all
This guy’s helping with hurricane cleanup
Good kitty…good boy !!
extra biscuit !
or kibble, I guess
Copied over from the hurricane thread:
For once, the phrase “Florida Man” is not a perjorative:
Florida Man Saves Cat
This one warms my heart…the expression on the kitty’s face is so precious!
Aww..so 😋 sweet. Pretty kitty.
One more . . .
Good morning Garrison! Have a blessed Caturday!
Hello there, Pa❣️
Morning, Patience and Ma🤗🤗. Tea drunk, moved on to coffee. You girls enjoy a peaceful weekend.
Good morning, wonderful-Betsy❣️
Easy on the Java😊
One cup in the morning, one in the afternoon…👍😘
Howdy Patience!
Morning, G. I’ve waited months to say this…turned all the ceiling fans off, cool to chill inside…AND!!! A $113 electric bill. So all the endurance in our steaming hot house paid off. Best of all? We lived to tell about it. WOOHOO!😁
That’s great Bet! Mornings and evenings are really nice. Now if we got some rain… Please, Lord.
🙏🙏🙏!!! Boy do we need it.
You too, Gramps! 🙂
😎
Some fine finds.
Yeah, I used to listen to Stephane quite a lot back-in-the-day. 🙂
Good morning, Garrison.😁
Morning, Bet. Turned my air conditioning off this morning. Yea October! 🙂
You betcha! It seemed to far away. And all of sudden, here it is! I look forward to this all year.🤗
The fall is my favorite time of year.
Oh and mine, lindak! I can’t tell you how much I anticipate it. And everything it entails…anticipation for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and ultimately Christmas, especially all the gorgeous music that starts at the end of October on Holiday Pops on Sirius XM.
The name of that channel is an horrific misnomer, as that music is from classic composers, European music and choirs…sublime. We marinate in it. Never tire of it. See? Now I am getting really excited.😉
It has always been so. I am sorry to say it.
All of my women friends . . . every one have been in dangerous situations that men almost never encounter. Dark parking lots, especially at places like Lowes or Walmart, can be deadly . . . It’s time to consider carrying a gun for self defense.
You can never really know when the Really Bad Thing happens but with the rise in crime rates, especially in urban areas, you cannot be complacent. Here in Texas it’s legal to carry a concealed handgun. In places where the state makes that hard, your life may depend on violating the law as a way to save your life. Buy a gun. Take classes. Learn to protect yourself. You don’t have to be a victim. . . . 🙂
Very well said, Garrison!
Ladies, get a gun, train how to use it, and always be aware.
That’s HORRIBLE!
Glad she’s ok.
I think there is a special place in Hell for people like this.
No matter what…….GOD WILL JUDGE.
I’ll be sending this message to others, thanks for posting it.
Biggest Lesson in Life
Don’t ever think it can’t happen to you.
This country as we knew it no longer exists. We all need to be aware of our surroundings. Full stop.
Grew up in dearborn and know exactly where that happened. And, to validate, it is right by the dearborn police station.
“the times they are a changin’ ” (bob dylan)
thanks john, for posting.
Morning, Slowcobra. Funny you should quote Dylan. This of his has been playing over and over in my mind for several weeks. Indeed they are “a-changing” in the good ole USSA.

Happy Catterday. Another kitten saved. Pet your kitties for me!!! 🙂
I really hope Jeff who has kept us enthralled with the ongoing tales of his new kitty, saying if he could afford it he would adopt every cat from the shelter near him and unabashedly admitting to the same thing this big hearted man did…that he’s a cat man…sees this. Bless him.
Mornin’ my friend. This is why I can’t go to shelters Bet.I would want to take them all (I am too weak). While I love my kitties, the only reason I don’t have any dogs is that I tend to like the bigger breeds…shepherds, retrievers, labs, etc…and I just think it would be cruel of me to have them in such a small space where they couldn’t run and frolic without running into a fence every 25 feet!
I laugh when I read Jeff’s post, reliving those experiences we’ve all had when the elder resident meets the new young invader, and the encounters that ensue. It’s funny to think of them later after they’ve become best buddies.I hope he sees it too.Blessings mi amiga and Happy Caturday all. 🙂
Well,my aunt’s power is back on,but her neighbors across the street are still without.I think she’s on a grid that’s the same as the one of the water treatment facility down the road.
Her husband’s daughter’s house in Ft. Myers beach is gone. His twin brothers house in North Ft. Myers was heavily damaged, but still inhabitable. His older sister’s house in Ft. Myers is completely gone. It’s heartbreaking to think,an 83 year old woman and her 87 year old husband losing everything.
All are well and alive though. Some aren’t as lucky.Praying for all effected that their pain will be slight. Casco
I said this yesterday. It’s the loss of a lifetime’s precious mementos which cannot be replaced that in the whole tragedy this event has been breaks the heart. At any age of course, but at the twilight of one’s life? Soul destroying.
Nature does what nature does and always has done. For power mad, self enriching (on the backs of others), self regarding creatures to presume they (or anybody else) have control over weather, climate, etc is godless hubris unquantifiable.
I’m certain those who can help have pulled out all the stops and are working flat out to do what can be done at this juncture, and will not abandon the efforts as this moves out of the headlines in the days ahead. Blessings never-ending on everyone who is there willingly and otherwise. There are good, good people in this world.
So good to see you this Caturday, Casco.
Thee and me, my friend. My heart is very vulnerable to those in shelters and any which are homeless. This is why you, Jeff, so many more and I are brothers and sisters really when it comes to animals.
When we were in Wales, as I’ve bored all and sundry with, we were in a rural valley with farms all around us, so we were known by every cat which made its way to Chez Jones.Vet care when we were there was not exhorbitant. It is now, along the lines of ours here. So we took all comers, none of which, miraculously, had any trouble settling in with the pre existing residents.
I would call our home there a “cat house”, but you know😂…
We loved and remember them all.
Blessings, dear friend. I hope your aunt is managing her dreadful injury and that she will be able to get her antibiotics. 😘
Thanks Bet.She’s going to be in pain for a while, but in the grand scheme of things, this is really quite minor. I have unashamedly used this opportunity to softly chastise her about her obstinance to accept help from others, while the ‘pain is still fresh’.She doesn’t listen to others, but she listens to me.It has been received with “yeah…I know…you’re right”,so I’ll lay off of it now that I can see the message getting through a bit.I love her dearly of course, but a 74 year old woman trying to lift a 100 + lb. table? Really?!Enough is enough dear auntie.Just shaking my head… What the heck are ya thinkin’ lady?(LOL)
That being said,I hope and pray that others are as fortunate as my aunt and her neighbors…they really dodged a bullet. There are others, well…not so much.Prayers for all.
P.S.- Don’t ever say your stories about Wales and wherever are boring!I for one love to hear of them, and that of others here as well.Besides,at times, they make me remember stuff of my own that I had forgot about…(premature senility?)Many are interesting, funny and make me downright cock-a-hoop.
That’s an order (softly)……………ma’am………! Casco 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hahaha…good man remembering cock-a-hoop😊. It’s a phrase like no other and I use it all the time. I picked up so many that, when I use them here, just get blank stares.
I say “petrol” for American “gas” in a car, and “gas” for the natural variety that heats homes. Over in Britain there is a difference.
Another…to call someone there means to show up at their house, as opposed to phone someone. I still post my bills, or collect the post…not mail.
I had a very close friend there who was a Bobby who was one of the most well read, educated people I ever knew. When our house was broken into by Irish travellers parked on the top of our lane in a layby, we called the police out and he showed up. He was stationed at a small station in a neighbouring village. We became very good friends, and he would often stop by for a cup of tea and whatever else was going from my kitchen, like an apple pie. We attended his wedding, that’s how close we were.
Anyway he was Welsh but taught himself several languages and was fluent in all of them. The last one he learned was Polish, as we had a sudden influx of Poles from Europe whose English was poor or nonexistent. I’m certain he has probably added Ukrainian by now, and maybe even Russian.
His house had so many books in them they overran his shelves and were stacked in piles all around. Really he was so erudite and smart, his superiors were actually, I believe, frightened he’d rise above them, so they never promoted him. And isn’t that the way in so many organizations?
So all of that to get to this point…
I remember saying I was going to write someone. He corrected me…write TO someone, he said. And while it is a small grammar point, he was absolutely right. So now, pedant that I am, I never fail to say it properly.
And that’s the end of my ramblings for the nonce…once you get me started….thank you for your indulgence, Casco😉
(and to your main point…I think we all reach a certain age when we are still so certain we can do all that we have done before…and for some, like your aunt, and the two of us in the this house if truth be told, it’s a hard or impossible thing to face that it simply isn’t so. To prove it, we do things we really know we shouldn’t, and unfortunately sometimes pay a dear price for it. She and I are really twins in that regard. Thank goodness she has a loving nephew to keep reminding her to think before acting. Finally, she probably, like me, hates to bother others for something so seemingly simple, so there’s that as well😉)
Yep.And if you were her twin,I would be doubly blessed! 🙂
Love you, Casco😘 I’ll treasure that.
Good morning Bet and Casco! I am wondering too how Jeff’s kitty saga is unfolding. 😁
Casco, my 3 kitties and two dogs go in and out and get along fine. That is until the cats decide that the bigger dog is to much nuisance. Then they gang up on him and produce the most blood curling sounds. They’ve got him trained. He is about 26 lbs but still prefers to squeeze through the cat door rather than use the nice big dog door. Anyway, lately with the cooler mornings the 2 dogs have started taking themselves on a walk but when you are in the boonies that’s not a problem.
‘Now have to go water the garden and then drive to Nipper’s soccer game. Last night put together the 10×10 canopy. Them Chinese instructions are not worth a crap but we figured it out.
‘May your day be blessed!
Mornin’ GrandpaM! That’s funny.Growing up,my dog and cat used to sleep with me in the attic during the winter, and in the basement during the summer. My dog would “spoon” up to my belly and the cat would spoon into the dogs belly.I would read my Hardy Boys or Jim Kjelgaard books under the covers with a flashlight. There we all were, buddies for life!
Enjoy the coolness and the ‘lil Nipper’s game, and blessings to you as well my friend. Casco 🙂
Simple pleasures, Casco. And memories. Two of the best things in life.
So true… 🙂
We had a cat flap in our Welsh home, G. The cats came and went, the only problem being on the return trip from the boonies, as you described your place, sometimes they’d bring a “friend” home with them…rabbits. Alive or not made no difference and it was something that greatly upset us. Thankfully it did not happen but once or twice.
We taught our Jack Russell, Penny, to go in and out of that flap in about a minute. They are such smart dogs. Reluctant on the first two shoves through, but she got the hang of it straight away, and fortunately never roamed past our front gate…and now I’m missing her dreadfully…
I hope Nipper and his team are victorious. I’m sure you peppered him with a little coaching before the game. You go, Nipper! 🤗
(Your dog sounds as if he thinks he’s a cat…very “woke”. 😉)
Tied game but they did much better than last week. Nipper did some great goalkeeping. Now he is snoring next to me. 🙂
Oh bless…worn out is he?🤗 I hope this group grow together with their soccer as the years go by. Wouldn’t that be great? And I say this because our now 14 year old granddaughter was on a team which stayed together for quite a few years.
They had a coach who was from Mexico who was quite strict about their training All the girls got on a treat, as did the parents.
Their team name was The Sweet Cleats and oh boy! Thanks to this wonderful man they won and won and won. They would still be together except for one thing.
Some parents of girls on other teams took umbrage at being beaten so often that they reported him to the overseeing soccer body…still to this day we were unsure what the “charge” was. He held his own but in the end, this body demanded the disbanding of this little team…and they got what they asked for.
That was that, and the disgustingly rigged end of a group of 10/11 yr old girls who simply wanted to have a good time and did, thanks to the dedication of a man who knew how to coach. All because some parents couldn’t stand to see their daughters’ teams lose.
Oh my! That sucks. Reminds me why I don’t miss dealing with people. But it’s all politics regardless of if it is soccer, or horse shows, or bbq contests, or you name it…
I’ll never understand those parents who make what should be joyous times for their children tense and an absolute misery G. They take all the fun out of it. Fie on them! Can’t remember who said hell is other people…too sadly true a lot of times. Sleep tight, my friend. See you in the morning.😘
🙂

The Place of Exaltation
…Jesus took…them up on a high mountain apart by themselves… —Mark 9:2
We have all experienced times of exaltation on the mountain, when we have seen things from God’s perspective and have wanted to stay there. But God will never allow us to stay there. The true test of our spiritual life is in exhibiting the power to descend from the mountain. If we only have the power to go up, something is wrong. It is a wonderful thing to be on the mountain with God, but a person only gets there so that he may later go down and lift up the demon-possessed people in the valley (see Mark 9:14-18). We are not made for the mountains, for sunrises, or for the other beautiful attractions in life— those are simply intended to be moments of inspiration. We are made for the valley and the ordinary things of life, and that is where we have to prove our stamina and strength. Yet our spiritual selfishness always wants repeated moments on the mountain. We feel that we could talk and live like perfect angels, if we could only stay on the mountaintop. Those times of exaltation are exceptional and they have their meaning in our life with God, but we must beware to prevent our spiritual selfishness from wanting to make them the only time.
We are inclined to think that everything that happens is to be turned into useful teaching. In actual fact, it is to be turned into something even better than teaching, namely, character. The mountaintop is not meant to teach us anything, it is meant to make us something. There is a terrible trap in always asking, “What’s the use of this experience?” We can never measure spiritual matters in that way. The moments on the mountaintop are rare moments, and they are meant for something in God’s purpose.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
When you are joyful, be joyful; when you are sad, be sad. If God has given you a sweet cup, don’t make it bitter; and if He has given you a bitter cup, don’t try and make it sweet; take things as they come.

Morning Cat! 💜
The time of growth is when we go through the valleys. The mountain top experiences are to recharge our batteries, have a glimpse of what is to come, and stay strong and courageous.
Be blessed. 😻

MORNING
The fruit of the Spirit is temperance. Gal. 5:22, 23
Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. I Cor. 9:25-27
Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Eph. 5:18
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Matt. 16:24
Let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober. I Thess. 5:6-8
Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus 2:12, 13
EVENING
Grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. Eph. 4:15
First the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Mark 4:28
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. Eph. 4:13
They measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. II Cor. 10:12, 17, 18
The body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Col. 2:17-19
Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II Pet. 3:18

Mornin’ y’all!
…& “12 years old” little girls
My lip is curling…
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Okay so WEF’s “global reset” from a Christian world view. Documentary from Tru News, 2 1/2 hrs.
Thought here would be better than the Presidential thread… it’s new:

There is also a new documentary called “The Princess” out about Diana. It is all oeiginal footage of her life from the time she became engaged to Charles until her death. Interestingly, there is no narration.
I saw it on HBO last night. Very sad and does not reflect really well on Charles and his mistress.
The press truly could not leave Diana alone, but maybe she encouraged it too.
I can’t stand Charles.
Something we saw right after the Queen passed away that we hoped was just an idea thrown out there for discussion…reading today that it seems it is seriously (stupidly and foolishly) being considered….
…and that is that Balmoral will be turned into a sort of memorial to the Queen, open to the public.
It sits in the middle of the stunning and undeveloped Highlands. To do what apparently what is being considered would be a desecration of that part of Scotland that was her home and which she loved so much because of its unspoiled remoteness.
We here have gamed out what “open to the public” would entail.
That means not only daytrippers but also thousands of coaches full of tourists and the traffic coming and going on roads that were not made for the like. That would mean opening facilities for those tens of thousands who would no doubt be visiting…cafes, restaurants, bathroom facilities, and a massive tourist center, filled with mementos for purchase.
And, that would mean the end of that most serene part of Scotland which for centuries has been untouched and defiled by the intrusion of so so many people.
I’d hoped for better from Charles, a rabid climate cultist. You’d think he’d know better. Apparently not. In fact, it astounds us. He needs to rethink.
That is very interesting …. and sad. Thanks for posting about it!
I’m guessing potential financial benefit is swaying him.
