Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

A devotion for today

he better stay alert, gators are eyeballing him (Okeefenokee Swamp)
That picture reminds me of my youth, visiting my grandparents farm where I’d go play/hang out by the edges of the pond at the back of their property. Behind that nothing but wilderness. It was loaded with gators.
Reflecting back on stupid city boy me out there alone for hours at a time, I sometimes wonder if my parents were hoping to get rid of me. Of course, I say that in jest but what were I/we thinking?
One of those many reflections back on life where you realize, someone was looking out for you.
True, Levi. A comforting memory…and with those gators?? Another Someone looking after you as well on the edge of that pond😉🙏
Good morning Betsy and Levi! That’s a great memory Levi, Someone really was looking out for you. Reminds me of the story Mungrel told to Nipper about sticking his head under water and looking at a saltie.
Have a blessed day.
Oh my, that’s a “soiled” story there. Or would be for me. Thank you, Garrison. Blessings to you and yours as well. Cheers!
Good morning, G💖 on this Monday….er….TUESDAY morning…gonna be confused all week.😉
Someone looking after our Mungrel as well methinks.
Hi Betsy, grandpa et all…..ferals got her days right after all!! My second Sunday followed by Tuesday’s looking pretty good to you now? 😂
Just waiting…..boot tapping…..
Got the chipper already? 😍
Yes…time’s a’wastin’
Still waiting delivery…pout.
Hi grandpa!!!! Seen those eyes on a kayak trip in Florida. Threatening yet awesome!! Very impressive!!
Hope your day goes as you two wish for ❤️
Good thing they are not that people aggressive.Sofarmy day has been productive. Drove to town and shipped the loanmowers wheels to Houston to get filled with foam, so no more flats. Talked to the Generac people and scheduled two appointments for two bids. Decided to stop sinking money in trying to repair the old one and bite the bullet and get a new generator.
This early afternoon taking mom to the doctor to try and help her knee pain. Its been bothering her quite a bit lately.
Then off for San Antonio to prepare for my next vein procedure tomorrow. I am running out of legs but Im sure theyll find a place to cut. 😂
You sound busier in retirement than you ever were in unretirement. Hope your mom can get some relief, G. Knee pain you feel with every step. Countdown to 0 on your vein procedures….🙏😘
Show off !!! 😂
I got a generac last year. So far so good. Good choice grandpa 😉 hope all goes well with everyone 💜
An old friend, now long retired, used to do wonderful vein procedures—he was so skilled he rarely had followup problems. Be well old fart . . . 🙂
OK, Gramps, testimonial to “I’m old and not entirely there anymore”. But to my credit, I did remain entirely “G” focused. You know, Garrison, Gramps. Sometimes us old folk have cranial stuttering and stammering issues. I am obviously there.
I admit I was surprised to read Garrison speaking of Nipper but just assumed you’ve all been friends here for a long time. OK, back to my Memantine prescription I go. Cheers!
Cheers mate!
Here ya go, Levi…
“I’ve reached the age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me.”
😉🤗
🙂 🙂 🙂
Yes, Betsy, ……..Someone.🙏
Yes ma’am, Lorrie. I’ve seen that Someone’s protection up close.🙏💖
“So another day gone when I pretended to know what I was doing…”
😆 that’s how I get up thinking about yesterday!!!!All the time!!!!! 😜
Sent it to my older daughter, who looks like that cat of Leon’s but in human form ALL the time, so overloaded is she….or like this…
Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Her: Buddy, I’m just trying to make it to Friday.
😂 😂
To my American friends, I wish you a happy 4th July! May freedom and sanity prevail and May you be blessed. Happy Birthday America. And Shalom!
I am attaching here an Israeli singer who is a talent and he translated an Israeli song to English. Enjoy.
Thank you for the blessings David. 😀 Return peace and blessings for the State of Israel. 🇮🇱
Agreed. Be well, David. Thanks for visiting!
Thank you, very much, David and Shalom to you, also. Love to see the Hebrew letter’s and hear the Hebrew language spoken.
Mazel tov!
Like water falls from sky
to wash
and fill the thirst of earth and life below
-Lord, Hear our prayer.
God be with each one of you, David. And Bless-ed Israel. I am watching intently what happens with your elections forthcoming. Shalom.
David, todah-rabah and shalom!
Loved this, her voice is beautiful. Thanks
“. . . And I have heard Doc Watson play Columbus Stockade Blues . . .”
One more . . .
Gotta love Doc Watson…one of my favorites… Down in the Valley to Pray
Works!!! 🙂

July 5, 2022 1:05am * 7+5 = 12 & 2+2+2 = 6 + 1+5 = 12 😉
Truth.
Great song!!! Your country conversion is almost complete…the transformation is mindboggling to a simple man…now if I could convince you to wear a cowgirl hat and boots and run off to East Texas you would be like the most perfect woman… hehehe
Here’s another one of my favorites… originally written by the rebel Kris Kristofferson and sung by somebody you might not recognize… lol
…Enjoy!
Well Howdy Partner! Or is it Pardner? Those are some great songs there! hehehe! 🙂
I suppose you’re right. I have expanded my horizons a bit when it comes to music. I went from the 70’s & 80’s classic rocker…to appreciating the purdy twang of some country! 🙂 And it’s clear that influence came from you! Now….as far as a cowgirl hat & boots…..I’d definitely do the hat! And the boots….hmm….do they have to be cowboy boots? lol Baby steps I guess.
I don’t know…..a big sail boat sounds pretty good to me! 😉 I went with a classic!
You know I dig that song but the message before that is interesting… reminds me of what a spook told me a long time ago…. “It’s my job to make friends with people so I can f’ them over.” Needless to say I took him at his word and never became his friend… Are you a spook? lol
hmm…yes I noticed that prior to the video starting. Thought it was strange….but I liked the video…so I didn’t really care much. So now you think I’m a sp Ooooooooook!? hahahaha! The odds are much greater that I’ve got ties to the mob…not the feds. lol just sayin. 😛 So don’t be tryin to run off to far! hehehe!
That Dolly Parton is always perky…hahaha.. It’s great listening to her sing but the videos just bring out the songs ….uh meaning…lol…Now see that rockwell song has been the story of my life…prophetic…. Sorry your guys didn’t win the stanley cup … they have the curse like my team for getting rid of that special goalie… Just sayin ….karmas a glitch….I hope all is going well for you and you’ve made preparations to weather the storm. It’s groundhog day here so things haven’t changed much….Even though I complain about it sometimes life is still good in my simple world….I always knew it would pay to be a simpleton…lol Anyways, I’ve reached my quota for social media participation for now, so I’m signing off but if I can ever help with anything just reach out to say Hello…
hehe! 🙂 xoxo
Oh.. Happy belated Birthday…. Hopefully you had a perfect day…
My favorite version in honor of you and Uncle Sal… Enjoy!
Thank you! I didn’t do much….had dinner at my moms and we watched the hockey game. After my team was out of the playoffs….I was rooting for yours….then they lost….so I rooted for the Avalanche….and they ended up winning the Stanley Cup on my birthday! That’s one bet I wish I had placed. lol
I love this version of this song! I sent you a message and song on your birthday too….but not sure if ya ever saw it.
Re: Barlow knives. My dad’s favorites. I, however, discovered Kershaw knives. You can easily pay big bucks for a pocket knife but that’s something that I refuse to do, mainly because I tend to loose knives over time. Happily Kershaw knives are spring loaded, are made of excellent steel which holds an edge, and don’t cost very much. I bought my current Kenshaw for $30 on Amazon.
True story. My friend and I were accompanying a especially attractive lady to lunch a few years ago. We both observed that a black guy was approaching us in what we both identified as a threatening manner. Obviously he saw two old guys and our attractive companion as easy prey.
As he got close, however, quite suddenly he stopped, turned away and crossed to the other side of the street. Know what happened? Although rather old, my friend was a life-on-the-street kind of guy with a formidable street-fighter background who had immediately understood what was happening. He was carrying a knife which he discretely opened, held at his side so our intended mugger could see. On seeing that one of us was prepared to fight, our potential mugger crossed the street to look for easier prey.
Lesson learned. Carry a good knife. Kershaw’s are cheap and good. Better still, if you live in Texas where where it’s legal, carry an easily concealed handgun. It may very well save your life.
Every.Single.Day…….
🙂
Moring Garrison. Good story. I immediately flashed over to the “that’s not a knife” scene from Crocodile Dundee. Thanks for procuring the first chuckle of the day. Cheers!
🙂
As is oft mentioned… and it holds true, “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away”. In those types of situations, you must find a way to defend yourself and those around you. Your dad’s subtle form of deterence or prevention is an excellent example.
🙂
I have two Kershaw pocketknives, a Schrade, and a Gerber knife sitting on my table. I’m actually partial to Case pocket knives, especially the ones with the bone handles. W. R. Case knives are somewhat pricey. I saw some Barlow knives on a couple of web sites; they are very inexpensive compared to the other brands. I might order a couple of them to add to my cutlery collection.
Hey grandpa….. these too???? 😂
They have to be dull. 🙂
I have been to auctions here in central Missouri where beautiful knives are sold. Some in sets and some individually. At one, it took an hour to sell all the knives and people got them at good prices.
Hi Joe, I really like my Schrade knives. I have several, a larger on that I use when I go hunting and a nice smaller one that I carry elsewhere. Be safe and God bless you.
I have a collection of Schrade, Uncle Henry, and Old Timer cutlery. Two of them are hunting knives; the rest are pocket knives of varying sizes and styles. Almost picked up another Schrade folding knife; went with a Kershaw lock blade instead. Atwoods and Tractor Supply stores are my favorite places to shop.
May God bless and God keep you. That goes for the rest of you Treepers.
We are entering unchartered waters, and Divine Intervention would be more than welcome to help us through these difficult times.
Grandpa, should I get one?
Thanks Garrison for the tip!! ❤️
Love ya Garrison ❤️
Hi!!!!!! Be well, happy!!!! 😘
By all means carry a knife with you. But always keep in mind that if you have to use it your will probably be in dire circumstances. I have no illusions about being a knife fighter. We don’t like to think about such things but our society has become much more dangerous, especially if you are old and move slowly. A knife is a last-ditch form of defense without which you might be dead. I gave one to my best friend. who is the sister I never had, for exactly that reason. Always carry it with you and—whether knife, gun, or both—never tell tell people you are carrying.
😉
Forgot to mention this, Cat. If you are doing some knife shopping (Amazon’s a great source) pay attention to knives with “assisted opening”. These are designed to open instantly with a single touch. My $30 Kershaw has a built in torsion spring that I can open with one finger.
Jolly good thing you live here, Garrison, and not in the Socialist Nanny State the UK has become time a million.
There you’d be arrested for carrying a knife. No guns, but plenty of “illegal” knives contribute to their massive murder rate.
But so cripplingly suffocating is that state that even the precious Thomas the Tank cutlery knife, fork, and spoon sets for toddlers learning to eat with utensils are (not kidding) labeled as dangerous and are under lock and key.
My Brit hubby ALWAYS carries a knife. Wouldn’t be without it.
Here’s a brief story…
When we came over for our daughter’s wedding, my husbands outfit was a full dress kilt. And as a Scot is never fully dressed without the obligatory knife, or Sgian-duh (pronounced “skane-do”), he wanted to bring his.
But at the time the US was in the process of declaring war on Iraq (in fact, we returned to Britain on the same day it was declared), he couldn’t bring it with him, even packed in luggage.
What to do…
We found a knife shop at The Galleria in Dallas purely by chance. We explained what we were after and why, and the owner/manager very VERY graciously allowed us to borrow it and return it for a fee of $2. Thus hubby went to the wedding correctly dressed.
And yes, I suppose we could have bought it and returned it the next day. But my husband couldn’t do that. It would have been, to him, the same as some women have done..bought a dress, worn it to whatever occasion, then return it. That’s the way he saw it, the knife being a part of his formal attire.
(Ok, Ok…NOT so brief😉)
We used to play Mumbley Pegs back in the 1950s. It is described at https://www.artofmanliness.com/living/games-tricks/mumbley-peg/ with the American Boy’s Book of Sport version being close to what all the boys did.
I suppose it is illegal in the UK and I haven’t seen it played in many years.
If I had money to bet, I’d win big betting it as illegal as dealing drugs there.
Hi Betsy, I read Dick Francis books and one of them delt with the horrors of having knives in UK. It was interesting the problem of owning a knife or knife collection that had had to be either hidden or confiscated. Thank the Lord we do not have such laws here. Have a Blessed day.
They’ve gone off the deep end, Marti. Completely.
Nice. “Shady Grove”; that’s some world class finger picking on both banjo and guitar.
Thanx, Garrison.
Well, it was Doc Watson, after all. 🙂
Morning, Garrison💖 Tennessee Stud is a good way to get moving for the rest of the week. Now if I can just remember yesterday wasn’t Sunday, today isn’t Monday…I tend to be a day off when there is a holiday… thanks for these wonderful songs of Americana.
Sure feels like Monday, don’t it! 🙂
Does it ever!!😂
Good morning Betsy. It does feel like Monday. I’m just sitting here in the dining room and having that 1st cup of coffee. Might get up around 100 degrees today; we will see triple digit temps later next week. I am looking forward to October.
You all need to borrow my calendar? I’ve got a few extras 😂 😂 😂
Naw, I’m good. The window a/c is keeping the dining room cool. I used to live in Arizona; temps are higher in the summer there, but humidity here makes it uncomfortable.
October is my favorite month of the year.
btw, if you’re shopping for cutlery, look at the Gerber brand knives. They not only make great pocket knives, but their survival knives are superb.
Cool joe 🤩
Thanks!!!!
Have a goodaye!!!!!
Went on Amazon and looked at the Gerber knives. Very nice and a good selection.
So good to see you!! I think we’re there here, Joe! Just finished our second cup and staying as immobile as we can.
Funnily enough, I was thinking of you about an hour ago, wondering how you were. How strange then, I should check in again and see you! You have no idea how happy that makes me, my friend.🤗
And yes!! October!!! Like you and Garrison, I say bring it on!! Blessings to you, Joe🙏💖
Hi Betsy. Listened to “Shady Grove” again. For about the 10th time. The banjo and guitar duet kept playing in my head long after I shut the laptop down.
Dear Ms. Idaho,
Awhile back you posted a link to Anna Von Reitz’s site (too much info for me to digest due to time constraints). I ended up clicking on a link to another site, another, etc., etc. (surfing) and discovered several potentially helpful things.
This one has a testimonial from someone about an eye issue, so perhaps take a look if you’re not familiar with it:
https://www.magicdichol.com/store/mdusa/health/nano-soma-nutraceutical-liquid-supplement/
The others, in case of interest (I’m not promoting; still evaluating), are:
https://monatomic-orme.com/product/monoatomic-gold/
and
https://superimmunebuilders.com/
I mostly lurk because I’m usually days behind and like to read in sequence; jumping ahead to post this. Know that more people than you realize are thinking of you. And thank you!! Without the link you posted, I wouldn’t have found these. [heart]
Dear SRT
Thank you for your kind words.
My words of ‘thank you’ seem so inadequate.
I will check out your links.
For the moment I am going to follow the protocols (based on studies) from these folks
https://www.wisechoicemedicine.com/
Its not that other nutritionalals won’t work, but I think I should go down 1 path at a time
PS – I will post more later on what I think is going on with me.
Have a Blessed Week (whenever you catch up on your reading) 🙂

Morning Sunny. Dionne had one of the prettiest voices of her day.
🥰
What a lively voice and also expresses the conflict of so many when I was growing up…
Wayne Henderson is a famous guitar maker who has made guitars for Doc Watson. Here he plays a very sly joke on Jill Wagner, a completely unsuspecting TV reported. Poor dear, she walks right into the joke. Happily she gets the joke and, importantly, understood that the best southern humor is never aggressive or intended to humiliate. She was a good sport about the whole thing.
Had one of these contraptions on my front porch for years. Used a squirrel tail. One lady jumped about 5 feet high and her head never moved. So much fun!
🙂
Was she standing? Or sitting…the sitting high jump should be an Olympic event.
😁
🙂
Love practical jokes. Good one!
🙂

Never thought that I would get pulled into the Adorable Puppy biz, but … (whatchagonnado?)
Very cute! Morning Hayseed.

Don’t Plan Without God
Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. —Psalm 37:5
Don’t plan without God. God seems to have a delightful way of upsetting the plans we have made, when we have not taken Him into account. We get ourselves into circumstances that were not chosen by God, and suddenly we realize that we have been making our plans without Him— that we have not even considered Him to be a vital, living factor in the planning of our lives. And yet the only thing that will keep us from even the possibility of worrying is to bring God in as the greatest factor in all of our planning.
In spiritual issues it is customary for us to put God first, but we tend to think that it is inappropriate and unnecessary to put Him first in the practical, everyday issues of our lives. If we have the idea that we have to put on our “spiritual face” before we can come near to God, then we will never come near to Him. We must come as we are.
Don’t plan with a concern for evil in mind. Does God really mean for us to plan without taking the evil around us into account? “Love…thinks no evil” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Love is not ignorant of the existence of evil, but it does not take it into account as a factor in planning. When we were apart from God, we did take evil into account, doing all of our planning with it in mind, and we tried to reason out all of our work from its standpoint.
Don’t plan with a rainy day in mind. You cannot hoard things for a rainy day if you are truly trusting Christ. Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled…” (John 14:1). God will not keep your heart from being troubled. It is a command— “Let not….” To do it, continually pick yourself up, even if you fall a hundred and one times a day, until you get into the habit of putting God first and planning with Him in mind.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
The great word of Jesus to His disciples is Abandon. When God has brought us into the relationship of disciples, we have to venture on His word; trust entirely to Him and watch that when He brings us to the venture, we take it.
Morning, Cat💖 Who these days doesn’t feel overwhelmed and probably helpless and impotent in the face of personal issues and in the face of the rampant evil which seems to have swallowed the world whole?
For myself, who tends to think too much, I have constructed a vision which helps. In it, I/we are in that Biblical open boat, being tossed violently hither and yon on the seas which we cannot control, far from solid land.
But in that boat with us is our Lord and Saviour, resting and unperturbed. Gently upbraiding me/us for fearing, not bringing our faith to the fore and relying on Him as the anchor which secures us.
And so I keep this vision, knowing, as in this devotion, there is only One to rely on day in, day out. We abandon, but are never abandoned. How reassuring is that?🙏
A lot to ponder here, my friend. I found out, I think, how simple it is. Just throw your hands in the air and let my belief in the Lord, take the helm.. 🤷♀️ been working for me ❤️ it’s so reassuring 🥰
Yes, it is… 🤗
Good morning FC. I never got a call requesting bail. Congrats. Not getting caught is an art form. Have a beauty of a day. Cheers!
Hi Levi!! You’re still on the hook. Thank you…it’s my strut that keeps me out of trouble sometimes 😉 kiss your beauty and have a great day ❤️

Wonderful! Thank you so much.
He had some wonderful thoughtful essays. His “Farmer” one I’ve been thinking of in view of the uprisings in the Netherlands and the attacks on our farmers here. Paul was a national treasure…wish another of his kind were here now.
Good morning Betsy. He and his distinctive voice were indeed national treasures.
A blessed day to you and yours. Cheers!

Feral cat thanks for the movie I watched it into the wee hours. true friend U R. Having trouble typing as Roxie walking over the keys. good night. Hay time for me. Third hay mow up. merrie Hey that Boaz guy is all a girl could want keep her barefoot and pregnant till the cows come home.

Ruth and Boaz had a kid named Jessie who had a kid named David. Used to sing a song lyrics as I remember went “there shall come forth a rod out of the root of Jessie and a flower shall grow up out of the root. A virgin shall concieve and bear a son and his name shall be called Emanuel, Lord with us…”
and all of that Boaz stuff from the Babylon Bee
Just wanted to write about a group of teens who were just by my house lighting fireworks. They were not from around here since I’ve never seen any of them.
But, guess what. They made me cry.
They did everything by the book. They took all safety measures and monitored everything themselves. As they lit off their collection of fireworks in the street, they were careful. Very calm and watchful.
They looked for traffic first. Once clear, they lit the fireworks and watched them. They went out into the street and pushed the remainders together so they could cool down.
For about 30 minutes, they enjoyed their friendships together. Both boys and girls of about 16 years old.
They quietly laughed and minced about while going through their arsenal. One girl was draped in a blanket even though it’s 75 degrees at 1:00 AM now. Maybe a security blanket for her.
Then, what did they do? They went around the street and gathered up the left-overs and put them in a container. They cleaned up everything from the streets themselves.
That’s when I began to cry.
They didn’t see me, but I was watching them with caution and my fire extinguishers on hand. But, I didn’t need to do a single thing.
There is hope in our youth. Sometimes, I forget that. But, now I know better.
What an inspiring and hopeful experience, Justice.
We seem to be confronted every day with the opposite of those lovely, thoughtful kids. But they are there, and simple observations like yours really do keep those acts of thoughtfulness and awareness front and centre where they need to be. Thank you for taking the time to post your story.💖
(…and what a kind and good neighbour you are with your fire extinguisher!)
That is an inspiring story, Justice. Thank you for sharing with us.
At least someone in that group has been blessed with good parents as well as an astute mind. Hopefully all of them share those blessings.
Truth
There a whole lotta good ones out there. Sometimes you just need to look more closely.
Not bragging, believe me, but we’ve got twin 17-year old grandlads just like this.
We started them out with the easily said “Manners Maketh Man” alliterative when they were 2 and went on from there. When I was reading Justice’s wonderful story, I thought of them. Grateful…
July 5
Morning
We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. I John 4:16
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:4-7
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom. 8:32
The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. Psa. 145:9
We love him, because he first loved us. I John 4:19
Blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. Luke 1:45
Evening
Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Rom. 12:16
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? James 2:1, 5
Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth. I Cor. 10:24
Having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. I Tim. 6:8, 9
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise: and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence. I Cor. 1:27-29
LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty. Psa. 131:1

So uplifting, Poyeema. Each one a treasure for the soul. Thank you.🙏💖
Mornin’ comrade infidels.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Troparion & Kontakion
Saint Alban (or Albanus), the protomartyr of Britain, was a Roman citizen who lived at Verulamium (modern Saint Albans), a few miles northwest of London, during a time of persecution. Nothing is known about his family or his occupation.
The chief magistrate of the city had orders to arrest all Christian clergy. One of them, a priest named Amphibalus, fled to Alban’s home in order to hide from the soldiers who wished to kill him. Alban was impressed by the priest’s constant prayer and vigil, and so he questioned Amphibalus about his beliefs. As a result, Alban came to believe in Christ and asked to be baptized.
Eventually, Amphibalus was forced to move on, and Alban changed clothes with him so that he could get away. The soldiers heard there was a priest hiding in Alban’s house, so they came to search it. Seeing Alban dressed in the priest’s clothes, they arrested him and brought him before the judge.
The magistrate was offering sacrifice to idols when Saint Alban appeared before him. After questioning him, he discovered how Alban and the priest had switched clothes. Furious because Alban had allowed a fugitive to escape, the magistrate threatened him with death unless he returned to paganism and revealed where Amphibalus had gone. Saint Alban replied, “I am also a Christian, and I worship the true God.”
After having the saint beaten and tortured, the magistrate threatened him with execution. Saint Alban rejoiced and glorified God. The magistrate ordered the soldiers to take Saint Alban to the Holmhurst Hill to be beheaded. When they came to the river Ver, they saw that the bridge was crowded with people who had come to witness Alban’s martyrdom. Since they could not proceed because of the multitude of people, Saint Alban prayed and made the Sign of the Cross over the river. At once, the waters parted so that they were able to cross over to the other side.
The executioner was so astonished by the miracle that he threw down his sword and refused to behead the saint. He was arrested, and another man was found to behead them both. There is a tradition that Saint Alban became thirsty while climbing the hill and asked for water. A small spring gushed forth near the top of the hill, and he was able to drink from it. Pilgrims used to come and drink from Saint Alban’s well, but it is now dry.
The date of Saint Alban’s martyrdom is uncertain, but it is believed that it took place during the reign of Decius (ca. 251) or Valerian (ca. 257). The eighteenth century Turin manuscript (which may be based on a fifth century source) suggests that Saint Alban may have been executed as early as 209, when the emperor Septimus Severus and his two sons were in Britain. The name of the executioner who was converted has not been preserved. The priest Amphibalus was ultimately caught and put to death at a place called Redbourn, four miles from Verulamium.
When people began to cry out against the magistrate, he put an end to the persecution. In later years a cathedral was built on the site of the martyrdom, and the relics of Saint Alban, the priest Amphibalus, and perhaps even the executioner were enshrined within. Saint Bede (May 27) tells us that miracles frequently took place at Saint Alban’s tomb. When the Danes invaded England in 860, the relics were removed for safekeeping, then later returned.
A new chapel and shrine were built for the relics in the early fourteenth century. Two hundred years later, during the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII, the marble shrine was destroyed. Much later, the fragments of the shrine were reassembled on its former site. What happened to the relics is uncertain, but it is probable that they were either destroyed or buried in an unmarked spot.
Although Saint Alban is sometimes depicted in military garb, there is no evidence that he was a soldier. After all, he was living in a private home when he was arrested, and not in a barracks. There is a medieval painting in the south aisle beside the Choir in the Abbey which depicts Saint Alban with red hair. A medieval seal, now in the Durham Cathedral Chapter Library, shows him with a thick beard. He is stocky, with a high, round and balding forehead, and a cloak covers his left side and right shoulder.
So exists St. Albans in Britain…the executioner who was beheaded himself, his name is unknown in history, but certainly known by God. Thank you for this fascinating life story, Lonestar. Shamefully one I did not know.

Good morning, ms Idaho💖
In case you have missed it, there is an incredibly nice message for you above from SRT 392.
Blessings for you and Doc and your beloved brother🙏
And a Blessed Tuesday to you Betsy
How could I miss SRTs message? Gotta think of an adequate reply. Words are so inadequate.
As long as God lets me I read everything I can. Check back on the OT to make sure I don’t miss something new, read all of Sundance’s posts. Read as many comments as I can. Never enough
PS – going to post a new thought later today.
Joy to all treepers
Oooolll you teaser, ms Idaho!!!!! You’re interfering with my chores you know. 😊
dzień dobry!!!!
OK – my update is posted. Go back to your chores.
I know. I was taken aback by the sincerity and concern in his post. I truly was overwhelmed by it, and I knew you would be. So glad you saw it, and your reply was gracious.
I revisit this thread often in the day to catch up on replies to earlier posts, and still miss some. Like catching up with folks in a small town and staying connected, as we used to do in Blighty in our small village. Fifteen minutes to get what we came to the store for, an hour to chinwag and get a cup of tea and a teacake. Wonderful.
Good morning everyone. Home is where the heart is, right?
Doesn’t seem to matter where we land in life, if we leave home for a time, it always feels good to return. There is something special about home because it speaks to each of us. From furniture to pictures on the walls or tables. From sentimental pieces gathered from relatives passed on. A quilt. Dinnerware. Home is a haven of our very personalized heritage.
And how often does home represent not just an internal cathedral of our lives but an external oasis of nature’s serenity? It can be as simple as a tree planted long ago, the flower garden or the vegetable garden. Because the outside is an escape for the mind.
For the truly fortunate, nature abounds. The visual inclusion of a stream, a lake, a wooded view, a field, a mountain or such simply complements the rest of the home. It makes home a place where we no longer HAVE TO seek vacations or time away because home is our staycation.
Home is, in my mind, what Shakespeare referred to as “I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it”
And if you wake up each morning and feel that comfort, that level of contentment with your surroundings, look up, smile and thank the good Lord. I know I do. In so many ways we are far more fortunate that we realize.
Hope everyone has a wonderfully enjoyable day in your home. God bless you and yours. Cheers!
Amen, Levi. What a wonderful post. Thank you.
Blessings
Superb, Levi…Dorothy had it right as well. There really is no place like home.
Yeah, well, she was ahead of her time (as they say)!
Yes…prescient she was.
You nailed it Levi!!!!! Our(my) home saying is “we rent from god” so I totally get it. My doors are open for anyone here, you just got to find me 😂 ❤️
Home, Family, God. Simple lives make happy lives because, in the end, we are rather simple creatures compared to our creator.
I found you and all the others here. That works for my scatterbrain. Keep the doors open and don’t worry about me wandering up. I can’t even tell a GrandPa from a Garrison in this forum. It’s best I don’t wander off too far anymore.
That aging thing reminds me of a funny line from Jay Leno years ago about Hugh Hefner. Hugh was in his 80s and rumored to be dating someone in her 20s. Leno said of him “Hugh is at that delicate age where he is caught between having a wandering eye and just wandering off.”
I can totally relate to the latter portion. Gotta laugh while we still can.
Amen!
I’ll just follow the trail of barker eggs.
Great post Levi! You’ve described perfectly where I find myself.
So fortunate. So much to be grateful for.
Good morning, Treepers!
Glory to God for all things
Good morning Lonestar. Amen and always. Blessings to you and yours. Cheers!
Blessed day to you, Levi
Good morning, Lonestar😊
Have a blessed day, Betsy. Stay cool! when do you suppose this high pressure system will break and we will get some cooler weather/rain??? October???
It looks as if that’s going to be the case. I remember over a decade ago a summer like this. Sixty days without a drop and hot as …..
Hoping all the weather geeks are wrong. Am I ever!!
Hi Lonestar!!! ❤️ 🍅 🌶 🌽
Hi, FC! Hope you are doing well up north. Think some cool thoughts and send our way.
God bless.
Your wish…my command. You all down there are worth my blowing the clouds being misinterpreted up here 😂
Serious question…
Can anyone name a God given right that we can currently fully exercise without having to get some sort of permission from the government?
🙁 Too taxing a question this early but off the top of my head, no. We would need either a license, approval and/or be taxed.
The government mistakenly, or deliberately more like, think there are none whatsoever.
The abhorrent part of what I see happening is this. The people who abided by the rules that THEY MADE are the ones they are hellbent on breaking. They, themselves, have broken every rule and law that was cast upon us but we, those who observed the rules and laws, are to be stricken from their world.
So much for lessons in obedience.
And that is most infuriating thing, Levi. Two tiered so called “justice”. The judicial system is corrupt or arrogant…probably both.
Yeah I no longer have the words because they’ve all been used. Never would have thought Merriam-Webster would run out of words for describing anything in life. But here we are. Everything about this government and the former free world collectively.
Time for a new language supply chain.
What about the 10 commandments?
What about them? Sorry, not trying to be a smarta$$. I just don’t see how your question relates to mine.
For anyone interested in new sites…
I’ve just discovered, through an idle comment by someone on another site…
SARA’S MUSINGS~Aspire to Inspire
And while I have not done an in-depth reading of all of it, I have read two of her thoughtful posts…and feel confident in suggesting that fellow Trespass might like to take a peek.
For my part, I have bookmarked it as a “favourite” and will look forward to reading more of her Christian based essays. Agree or not, the ones I’ve read give ample food for thought.
Blessings to all🙏💖
Noted. Saved. Thanks!
fellow Trespass or fellow Treepers? 😉
To which Sara’s Musings are you referring? There are at least 6 different sites with that name that I have found, including one on Facebook.
Oh dear!!!!!! So sorry!!! Thanks, GB… since this is Monday to me, I’ll blame my non editing for it…autocorrect is not.my froend.

Thanks Betsy, I got it.
Hi everybody 🙋♀️
Doing a group thank you for all the spiritual posts. I won’t have room to think of anything else today. Oops just realized, that’s the way it’s supposed to be 🤭 ❤️
Hi one and all – here’s my update.
I think I have an answer – but not a solution.
As you know I have been on a mission to save my eyesight. I have shared with you what I have found – knowing there are others with the same problems. Macular degeneration and glaucoma affect millions of people world wide and, sadly, the end result is often blindness.
I have reported some on nutritional support. More recently I focused on DNA repair. More research in that area – other nutritionals besides l-Tryptophan can effect DNA repair.
My guess is that we should do all the good things we all know to do help keep our DNA in tip top shape – exercise, quit smoking, eat right, take supplements….
Last week I had a great discussion with the Director of WiseChoiceMedicine.com. Their products have studies that show they mitigate or even reverse the above mentioned eye diseases. I will be using their 3 products and following their protocols.
My challenge to her – are there studies where people have been treated with Lucentis gene therapy and their products.
Uh – no.
That led me to my ‘revelation’.
Here is how to look at it. Had I ever been ‘transported’ al la Star Trek, they would have a copy of my DNA. Lucentis has changed my DNA.
Yes, aging is a factor. Yes, nutrients to REPAIR DNA damage are important. But I did not have many of the problems I now have before the shots. And the problems are not limited to my eyes – tho I can cope with most of them. Blindness is a whole different problem (for me)
Never will I be able to return to the DNA God gave me.
I had an appointment with my favorite Naturopath – but sent him a note with my revelation He has a group of non-traditional gurus he interacts with and wants to do some research. Appointment moved to early August.
I think I have mentioned that Lucentis (and 3 or 4 similar drugs) is administered to stop the proliferation of blood vessels in the eye and stop the seepage of serum or blood into the eye. Miracle drug – it does what it is supposed to do. This is supported by imaging and tracking by my retina specialist. Also, he is so satisfied with my response that instead of the recommended shots every 4 weeks, my next one is in 10 weeks. YAY!
What worries me – the pressure in my eye, evidenced by fuzzy vision – is a side effect of Lucentis. For a number of weeks I have been putting Rx drops in that eye to reduce pressure. Without a test I can’t tell pressure reduction – but vision is still foggy.
Will the drops not work like the natural remedies are not working? Remember, we are each unique – what helps or hurts you may not help or hurt me.
I have modified the wedding blessing – What God has created let no man put asunder.
Am I being too harsh?
This sounds immensely hopeful, ms Idaho. Not perfect but perhaps more uplifting for you? That’s the way I’m reading it. In any event, it sounds as if some positive progress is happening per your specialist. So I’ll rejoice with you for each bit of new news and discovery in high hopes the trajectory of your eye problems might be changing. One step, no matter how small. 🙏B
Betsy
are you hiding a Star Trek transporter somewhere?
Oh that I were…it would be yours in a heartbeat.💖
I may have found one – but unfortunately I can’t find Scotty to fix it for me so it works
😊🌷
The biochemist spreading the gospel of balanced blood sugar
When biochemist Jessie Inchauspé discovered balanced blood sugar levels led to higher energy, improved mood and clearer skin, she set up an Instagram account to share the good news. Could managing glucose spikes also help to ward off serious illnesses such as diabetes?
n her book, Inchauspé argues that these health problems can be traced back to glucose overwhelming mitochondria. Mitochondria are found in every cell in our body and their job is to absorb glucose from the blood and convert it into energy.
Too much glucose delivered too often can stop the mitochondria from functioning effectively. When this continues for too long, it can cause oxidative stress, which Inchauspé describes as “a driver of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cognitive decline, and general ageing”.
Learning this changed Inchauspé’s life. “It’s what made me change my diet,” she says. “Not what I ate – I couldn’t cut out the likes of bread, pasta, and chocolate as I love them too much – but how I ate.”

the big lie that fat is bad for you – so you should eat carbs and processed food
A huge number of people still have not learned or have rejected the truth
ps – i was skimming the article (read often but several years ago).
I was reminded that thru the years a number of studies have been conducted ‘to prove Dr Atkins was wrong’
Guess what – they all failed.
Beware of artificial, hydrogenated, made in the factory (not real) fat

On the subject of food and eating habits – a small game for you
Make a list of the foods you really like
put a checkmark next to those you eat every day
done?
Most of us eat the same 10 or 15 foods – every day. A good diet includes a variety of foods and they should be varied..
In otherwords, if you want to ‘do it right’ don’t eat the same food any more often than 3 or 4 days apart.
The voice of experience feeding 2 of us – that is really really hard to do.
If you want to do a good evaluation re: whether you are varying your diet
bon apetite
lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and his family as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall. Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
And prayers up for all political prisoners. Prayers up for Pastor Pawlowski, for Julian Assange, and for all the protesters of January 6 who were or are entrapped in DC.
