Over time, retired Col Douglas Macgregor has been shown to be quite accurate in his overall perspective of the war in Ukraine. Appearing on OANN with Dan Ball, Macgregor gives another update on the current status that aligns with what little non-propaganda information is visible.
As Macgregor notes, Russia was always going to strategically win a war in eastern Ukraine for the same reason the United States would win a war in Mexico. The scale of a determined military capability eventually wins, even with a strong resistance, specifically because: (a) Ukraine is connected to a common border with Russia, and (b) the citizens in the eastern part of the country are aligned with Russia.
Macgregor also identifies the financial motive for the government of Sweden to join NATO, even though the Swedish citizens would likely not support the effort if put to a referendum. As the retired colonel also notes the lack of recent U.S. media talking positively about the status of Ukraine, is an indicator that Russia is solidifying the eastern part of the country with lessened resistance. The segment with Macgregor starts at 04:00 (Direct Rumble Link) WATCH:
Sundance, thank you for posting this interview.
It is next to impossible to obtain reliable info on Ukraine war. The corporate media is very very very tightly controlled, as you have pointed out for a long, long time.
Thanks again for your excellent work and truth-telling.
Look up the Duran Podcast on youtube or rumble. They give updates almost every day and they’re two smart Greeks. Alex Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris.
Love those guys. Top of the line for all geopolitical news.
imo mercouris is the better. and he makes daily broadcasts. check out today’s, has a useful recap of the eight years of western deceit:
Impressive, this is good info on what is really going on in Ukraine. I am now hooked on this reporting. Truth!! Somebody should send these reports to President Biden and Sec. of Defense Austin.
Not really. Search for alternative, international reports instead of listening to or watching Faux News. They have some good Telegram channels. I’d recommend going to Rumble, Bitchute, and searching for Ukraine war. You will find plenty of good and reliable sources. Or moon of Alabama if you prefer the US source. But, the rule of thumb is- to think the opposite of what the MSM is telling you. Or https://eng.mil.ru/en/special_operation/news/more.htm?id=12422278@egNews (this is the Russian military report)
I hate making Laws, but one Law needs to be considered. Any one reaching the age of 72 must retire from and running for political office and having a job in government (bureaucracy)! Mental acuity lessens as you age just a fact. Congress right now looks like a nursing home.
Its bad enough we have these demented old fools like Kissinger Soros Schwab buying and influencing governments.
They’re all attention whores and control freaks with criminally debased minds and conscience. Why else would they still be “working” when they could be on the beach with their ill-gotten gains.
Just make it simple and set a 2-term limit, just like the Presidency.
Then make it illegal to accept campaign donations to any person or organization outside your district.
yes – and then they can campaign for whom they think would carry their torch for them (further their progress)
The system is good, except its totally corrupt!
The youngest member of the house just got axed (stolen) after ONE term. Corrupt fraudulent elections is all that is left of a once good system.
In the halls of congress, Cawthorn second run for the house, I bet you would hear from those that have been there for over 30 years saying, look the system works Cawthorn was booted out after ‘one term’. At this point I only see one solution and it is not pretty!
Ditch the 17th amendment – return the chance for senate to be composed of statesmen. Renew the state legislature ability to recall senators immediately upon discovering bad behavior or illegal behavior like TREASON!
“It is not the function of our government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error.” — U.S. Supreme Court in American Communications Association v. Douds 339 U.S. 382, 442 (1950)
This is our downfall. The American People refuse to communicate with each other, come to an agreement and then force their Employee, er Representative and Senator to do what they demand or get thrown out of their Job, er Office!
You’re looking at problem through the wrong end of the telescope. It’s the quality of the voters that must be improved—a franchise based on no more than still having a pulse on reaching an arbitrary and ever-reducing age (as is the norm today in every country labelling itself a ‘democracy’) is lunacy. Restore Athenian principles: three generations of citizenship, military service and property. Do that and you won’t have to worry about term limits or anything else.
Don’t know what situation was in US but Britain only introduced salaries for MPs in 1911; until then, for 646 years (longer if counting Parliament’s antecedents in 8th Century Saxon Witan and Moot), only Crown ministers received remuneration (and had to be MPs first so barrier to entry remained). Introducing salaries:
• turned a patriotic service into a mere job and get-rich-quick scheme
• removed the need for talent at least sufficient to maintain themselves
• turned Crown’s subjects into Parliament’s cash-cows
And we had better MPs unpaid than ever since—who now compares to such as Mill and Burke, Pitt (Younger), Palmerston and Salisbury?
Yes indeed. And there should also be employment time limits for all govt employees, say 4 years or so (btw, everyone in the employment of govt should have their voting rights suspended until discharged)
Well, in the private sector CEO’s of publicly owned companies typically must retire at age 65.
Why won’t people like Pelosi, Biden, and McConnell leave? You become fabously wealthy by simply being above the laws the rest of us live by, e.g. insider trading.
Perhaps there should be a battery of competency tests rather than base it on age. There are plenty of people older than biden who still have their wits. OTOH such a competence battery would clearly disqualify most of congress….regardless of age.
Interesting
I look at a general and my trust level is low
Obama sure burned out the upper ranks of the military
There is a question about how much even Russian speaking Ukrainians
want to be pulled back into the Russian miasma
after they have seen the glittering lights of Europe.
But the power of Russia so close to its own borders has to be understood
Thanks to Sundance for shining a lantern on all the manipulation.
I see propaganda in even the things I agree with.
Rob in Solana
“[T]hey have seen the glittering lights of Europe.”
How ya gonna keep them down on the farm
When they been to gay Par-ee?
No one wants to affiliate with Putin’s shambolic economic enterprise.
*** No one wants to affiliate with Putin’s shambolic. ***
.
The BRICS are. The euros are paying in rubles now. That data contradicts your assertion.
You need better camo, lad. Try that with your next login swap.
“Glittering lights of Europe” with their immorality and atheism and their soon-to-be Muslim majority of rape gangs and kiddie fiddlers? Sure, I’d want that over openly Orthodox Russia.
This was posted over a month ago.
At no point did Russia want Kiev (spelling).
basing any feel good thoughts over russia not getting that is pure propaganda swallowing.
Odessa Either.
Fake War. Putin has his role to play.
yea the craziest thing is – we are paying for Afghanistan still.
i thought a pull out was a pull out.
That’s what she said.
If this line expresses Putin’s strategic objective, it will never be realized.
He will be fortunate to escape from Ukraine with 50 BTGs.
Yep that was the goal all along. Too bad the flag waving sheeple didn’t read or pay close enough attention to what was going on.
UKRAINIAN TERRITORIAL DEFENSE COMMAND POST IN LOZOVA IS DEKALIBRATED BY RUSSIAN AEROSPACE FORCES

Biden has announced $100 million in arms funding to Ukraine on top of the newly approved $40 billion aid package.
https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-biden-admin-adds-100-million-in-arms-for-ukraine-on-top-of-40-billion-aid-package
And it’s not “$60 billion of military aid” … it’s nothing more than more easy money for the DC Swamp to grift away. Almost none of the money will ever arrive in Ukraine, and anything that is sent there will simply be “grifted away” there!
There is nothing that can deliver Ukraine from its fate – a fate that it richly deserves for having been at civil war with its own people for more than six years and using Nazis as mercenaries. Putin stated very clearly what his nation’s national security issues were, and exactly how his military was going to address them. And, that is exactly what they have done.
You’ll notice a lot of countries are shipping larger old weapons systems and armour.
The MIC will be “selling” a huge amount of new hardware to these countries to replace their old crap, with shiny new platforms.
The $40,000,000,000.00 that Biden borrowed from China, and have to be paid back by US taxpayers, will cover some of that.
The media hyped German Gepard is a case in point.
They will be next to useless in Eastern Ukraine as AA support.
Something you will not read in the corporate media is that the twin Oerlikon 35mm guns are thirsty beasts, and requires very reliable logistics support.
It spits out around 1100 rounds/min through both barrels. Every round comes packaged individually in its own container, it takes time to load magazines and onboard storage. Do the math…
The lack of trigger economy apparent in Ukraine will require vast amounts of ammo, very expensive ammo at that.
Training on the system under normal circumstances takes around 5-7 months to become proficient. That will need to be much more condensed, sacrificing quality. There is a lot of Radar training involved too. Very little to none of the training /operation of the Gepard will be intuitive: it’s just not a climb onboard and learn on the job type of system.
It needs a high level of maintenance to stay combat reliable, working on it is time consuming.
A lot of spares will also be needed.
The 35mm rounds only have an effective range of 13,000 ft, though it is devastating when used to engage land based targets.
But all its other limitations will still apply.
Wow!
You should be over at Zero Hedge with the other rabid Putin groupies.
A well placed tactical nuke on May 22 in Davos would solve a lot of the world’s problems in one stroke including the Ukraine war and end the Biden administration.
And certain parties are aware of this which is why half a division of Swiss troops are needed.

Douglas McGregor’s analysis is similar to what I have seen on other sites.
Many people don’t realize that in addition to Austin telephoning to demand an immediate cease-fire, General Milley also called the Russian general who is the equivalent as chief of staff – yesterday. So, why all these calls to Russia if Ukraine is doing so well?
So, why all these calls to Russia if Ukraine is doing so well?
Good question. Here’s one possible answer:
The Biden Administration doesn’t need Ukraine to “win”. They see a tie as perfectly fine. Why? Because this administration is riding the express escalator down as the fall mid-terms approach (less than 6 months away). Everything Biden has touched has turned into rancid goo – except Ukraine. The Defeat of Russia in Ukraine is somebody else’s accomplishment which Biden is taking credit for. A Biden negotiated cease fire could save some blue seats in congress. In short, Biden doesn’t need a win – since a stalemate will do.
A springtime race in Moscow that the fake news would rather you not see.
Isn’t it weird that you only see the mid-level military analysts who don’t believe the sh**** that the MSM and their pundits provide to the public. Or is it maybe all the “generals” are a bunch of corrupt officials who skim off from every country they helped conquer. The Ukies are losing big time, right from the beginning, and it will end in the breakup of that corrupted country where Russia will take all the “good” parts of Ukraine and leave the scrap to the hegemony West. No wonder monkeypox is trending. Here we go again.
One of those talking head generals appearing on CNN regularly to tell us Russia is losing, Gen Jack Keane is a member of a think tank called The Institute for the Study of War.
Interestingly enough here are the members of the board of directors…how many are neocons I wonder?
General Jack Keane (US Army, Retired), Chairman, Institute for the Study of War; President, GSI, LLC
Dr. Kimberly Kagan, Founder & President, Institute for the Study of War
The Honorable Kelly Craft, Former US Ambassador to UN and Canada
Dr. William Kristol, Director, Defending Democracy Together
The Honorable Joseph I. Lieberman, Senior Council, Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman, LLP
Kevin Mandia, Chief Executive Officer & Board Director, Mandiant
Jack D. McCarthy, Jr., Senior Managing Director & Founder, A&M Capital
Bruce Mosler, Chairman, Global Brokerage, Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.
General David H. Petraeus (US Army, Retired), Member, KKR & Chairman, KKR Global Institute
Dr. Warren Phillips, Lead Director, CACI International
Colonel William Roberti (US Army, Retired), Managing Director, Alvarez & Marsal
https://www.understandingwar.org/who-we-are
Keane also gets big bucks from defense contractors.
They all do, those that play ball with the beltway boys.
MacGregor is too low on the totem pole to get anything.
All of them.
Russia won’t only take the best parts of the country, Putin will confiscate the 100% guaranteed reserves of gold hidden by the western elites and corrupt politicians in the country.
Ever wonder why HRC, Schwab, Soros and Graham panicked so hard?
Their little Deep State retirement nest eggs stashed in Ukraine are now owned by Putin.
the Pox is happening now because it’s election season and the Dems, MSM are setting up again to cheat big time so they need lockdowns, mail in ballots and more mules than ever before.
Ukraine gold was taken back in 2014 after the coup.
Is it possible to invent a “Pill” that will kill the “Woke – Dem Virus? I would like to see both the United Nations & NATO disbanded.
FJB’s impeachment can’t come fast enough
Just discovered site today and will return daily. Very impressed with the host and the guest, who is a GREAT American and expert in all matters but especially military ones.
4:45 re Bush laughing about Iraq War: This is not the first time that Bush has joked about the war in Iraq. After justifying the war as a preemptive way to remove (imaginary) “weapons of mass destruction” it was all laughs and giggles for Bush.
And you know what? He’s right. It’s just a game to The Powers That Be, and anyone who volunteers to be a pawn gets what he deserves. That’s just part of being a corporate mercenary — it comes with the job. It’s been, at a minimum, 70 years since the US military had anything to do with protecting the US or with protecting our freedom. They do just the opposite. They work as muscle for criminal psychopaths who want to rule a world of slaves. The oath to protect the Constitution is just a schoolyard rhyme like “Ring Around the Rosie”. It binds no one, and is repeated by grownup children who don’t even know what it means.
Think I’m wrong? Think our “brave men in uniform” care one whit about their oath? Explain one thing, just one thing. Tell me why the US military did not surround Washington, DC, decades ago and march all the traitors out in chains. Here’s why. “We couldn’t arrest the traitors because we work for them, not The People. We might have lost our pension. It’s safer just to help destroy the country.”
Interesting to me how the far right (represented here by Douglas Macgregor ) and far left (old commies) are the only ones supporting Putin. Maybe 10-15% of the US population.
Fact is Russia invaded a sovereign country. While Russia will eventually stabilize its hold on parts of Eastern Ukraine, this has proven one of the most costly miscalculations in military history. The price for that bit of real estate is huge. Russia is a developing country and desperately needs access to Western products, services and technology. That access is now severely curtailed. Higher oil and gas prices no where near compensate.
Russia’s military showed that it is unable to seize and hold major cities in Ukraine.
Russian troops have shifted to a sort of “aggressive defense” that seeks to dislodge strong Ukrainian defenses around Slovyansk-Kramatorsk. The Russians are using the same tactics that failed in the opening campaign: bombard built up areas with artillery then send armored units down the highways into the teeth of Ukrainian anti-armor defenses. This fighting is centered upon villages and small-to-mid-sized towns and cities. On any given day – one side’s gains are offset by the other side somewhere else in the region. It does not appear that either side enjoys overwhelming combat power to mount a “steamroller” offensive that would crush everything before it.
Don’t look for a decisive encounter until September – October.
“As Macgregor notes, Russia was always going to strategically win a war in eastern Ukraine for the same reason the United States would win a war in Mexico. ”
This totally ignores the quality and quantity of equipment available and the ease or difficulties of replacements. It also ignores similar issues with the manpower. Initially I thought Russia would clearly be a win, partially because I considered Pooties wasn’t stupid enough to start something that would be this difficult. Obviously I was wrong. Maybe this was caused by the typical command chain issues of authoritarian regimes. (They lie to keep from being fired and they are even more corrupt than us.)
If Ukrainian forces are on the verge of collapse why is Russia having such a problem making advances in the east now that they have given up on fronts further west??
This man is just another paid shill. SPIT!
