The wrong thinking “fringe minority” have raised over $8.6 million [LINK] in support of their trucker Freedom Convoy as the massive assembly protest continues in Ottawa, Canada.
The truck convoys started from British Columbia in the west, Newfoundland in the east, and Windsor, Ontario in the south. On every highway along the journey, crowds cheered and waved support for the Truckers. Now they are inside the capital city.
Tens of thousands of Canadians protesting the oppressive government rules around COVID-19 have converged on Parliament Hill. After the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) originally tried to downplay the size and scale of the protest, yesterday they changed their perspective to the massive protests being extremists who were supported by Russia. Subsequently, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was evacuated from the capital city.

Some are saying that the convoy has already won, in essence, by the very nature of what it has already done. I’ve read a few comments to that effect on threads here and just read some comments by Ezra Levant expressing a similar sentiment, as excerpted below from The Daily Wire link at the bottom:

I don’t get it. To my mind, it is not success to have pulled off what the truckers have done as of this writing if their action yields no meaningful result. Yes, what they’ve done has been beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. And the outpouring of support has been inspirational and heartening.
But two years into this madness with no end in sight, it seems that we need more than that.
If the truckers aren’t able to leverage any power and wind up going home with not even an inkling of victory in hand, then we will once again be reminded that the elites hold all the power and that no matter what we do, we cannot break their lock on their ever-increasing control.
What am I missing? If someone has a different view, I’d like to hear your rationale for why this is already a win, for lack of a better word. I’m genuinely intrigued to understand this thinking.

Haven’t seen or heard of any issues is BC yet. There have been supply chain issues for certain goods though but I think this is occurring in the US as well.
YES. I live 100 miles north of glorious nation of Toronto. We pay $1.50/litre. That’s around $5.70 /US Gal. There are virtually no independent Gas Stations anymore. 20 minute drive for gas. In the
70’s we had 6 Stations within 6 miles. Out in Lala land BC it’s been close to $2/L. Food-Zero chicken in the independent except for boneless thighs $32/pack. Costco in Orillia has nowhere near the stock “above” the food displays. Our 12 chickens are still laying 10-12 eggs a day. Thank God for these little miracles. Add some Walleye from the lake, some Venison burgers, beef jerky, all our canning, and we will be ok food wise. Not sure about the society. I’m not living as a Dhimmi. EffTheLeft.

Most drivers for large trucking companies, moving companies and carriers like UPS are in the TEAMSTERS Union which is connected at the hip with the Democrats in the United States and Trudeau in Canada. Independent drivers are as noted her members of trucking associations.

They are not unionized. However, just like in US, the top bosses of trucking organizations try to make folks bleieve they speak for all truckers. A majority of US truckers are small business with 1-5 rigs and not union. In Canada i don’t believe a trucker’s union/association is that expansive.

After church we had just arrived home! We heard horns outside and even in our little town, lines of cars behind our house on Main Street with horns and flags. We jumped back onto the car with our flags and joined in! We all reached the place where it ended in a large parking lot. Absolute joyful cheers of hope erupted from everyone.
One old man gave us the Looser sign on a corner. He walked away. We were just too many, and too full of joy to be bothered by his negativity.

When they were ask why are you doing this: their answer was, I want freedom for my children and especially for my grandchildren. Stop and think, if 50,000+ truckers are involved in the convoy and they are a “minority fringe group” representing only 10% of the truckers, that means there are 500,000 independent truckers in Canada? I listened to the news reporters speaking. I could swear they used THE EXACT SAME WORDING that I had found earlier today in a completely different liberal Canadian source.
In short, they are using the precisely same talking points – something Sundance pointed out in an article many, many months ago. I recall he had juxta-positioned liberal talking heads on a screen, in squares like a TV show game, with each different reporter using the same verbiage. They are told what to say, and they say it, without deviating from the script.

I am, yes, obsessing over the truckers who police pretty much cordoned off on the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway. Trucker tweeted that they have to keep rig going to keep warm. Afraid they’ll run out of gas, plus there is no food. Restaurants hang up as soon as they realize the callers are truckers.
Police won’t let others through to deliver food, anyway. I would guess that pertains to no gas delivery, either.
If that is true, then excuse me but this is just a sh&^storm waiting to happen.
My sense is the police are deliberately provoking pushback.
Why wouldn’t the restaurants want all the extra business?
I bet the truckers will handle everything better than you predict. They are guys that live out of their trucks and sleep in them, so they must have a way to heat them.

Trudeau is a total coward not even able to stand and speak face to face with his own citizens. Where do the Canadian Military and Armed forces stand ? What I want to know is how many tow trucks capable of moving an inert semi-tractor trailer even exist in that area and will men actually drive them at the behest of the government to remove these trucks? You need a huge tow truck and a man to drive it. And I say men because hooking up and towing a semi takes a degree of physical strength that generally means that men do it, and not women. Sorry girls. And these people are not police officers. They are people who work for tow truck companies that tow stuff for the police. Who are the men who will cross that proverbial picket line? And if not, who will move those trucks if the driver of the inert truck refuses, throws his keys in the sewer and you arrest him? And if you bring in the military to move those trucks imagine the PR crisis that would bring as you deploy your military against your working men and women? Truck on.
And another thought. Once you impound all those trucks who is delivering your oranges and in what vehicle? These are just questions I have.
