Neil Oliver does a weekly monologue that is very well articulated and provokes thought; this one is no exception.
In this outline Oliver weaves a series of points around the topic of collapsed trust with government and institutions with examples we all relate to. However, the last 90-seconds, when he connects them is brilliant, painful and disturbing. Highly recommended.

If a previously trusted institution betrays that trust, be it the government (which I have never trusted no matter who controls the levers) or far worse, the medical field, it ruins forever any legitimacy other institutions might claim to have to that precious commodity.
I have come to the point where I assume as a matter of course that any and all entities of any description holding power are liars, frauds, and charlatans. I look at them with a gimlet eye and assume the worst.
My trust is mine to bestow, and there is no earthly body to which I will give it. That is a terrible thing to say, but it’s for MY “greater good”.

Considering that God is the sum total of all that is pure and wholesome .
Is it possible for anything good to replace Him once He has been repeatedly rejected by a society.

My soap bubble trust in our Federal Govt and LE burst right around the time of Ruby Ridge and Waco! Since then it has gotten less and less! Now I have none especially after watching how President Trump was treated by Congress, Federal bureaucrats in all agencies and departments and by even our own military leaders! I’d say my first questions arose shortly after the man whom a holiday is observed tomorrow, and RFK, were murdered, and trust in any form of authority devolved from there.
This latest attack on freedoms and liberties isn’t surprising, to me, however the method, using a bioweapon, that was brilliant and I admit it took a month or so to clearly match the instincts with the realities. The enemy is very clever, intelligent and well-educated. Formidable.
Do decent, God-fearing humans exist in government? Yes. I am reminded though, that we’ve killed a lot of decent, God-fearing humans over the centuries because they were soldiers of our enemies, nothing more than the local public face of the despot or tyrant. Military or civilian, the results were the same.
I expect history to repeat itself on all sides. Why? We’re human, flawed, imperfect and have a long track record of never learning from history.
I don’t tend to follow YouTube influencers so don’t know the man in this video but his statement about trust and respect in law enforcement waning in the UK caused me to remember the time when such trust and respect fostered the environment that the police could discharge their duties enforcing the law without using deadly force or even being armed.
Trust and respect. Fragile things. God be with us.
He is so right! In all relationships it is “TRUST” and once broken it is never, ever, regained. There is a civil tolerance, a mild forgiveness, but nothing can ever replace the pure feeling of the original trust.

CREDIBILITY is the key point. As the poster above says, Credibility in our institutions HAS been eroding for some time; for some it was 911, for others Ruby Ridge,…etc.
What changed things was the escalator ride, and “Trump effect”.
Before, the mask would ‘slip’ due to one incident or another, and we would briefly glimpse the monster behind the mask, but they would quickly adjust the mask, and we would all “move on”.
The escalator ride triggered something fundamentally different; ALL the institutions of our civil society lined up in a queu, and each as they got to the front of the line stepped forward, into the limelight and cheerfully, eagerly took off their masks, shredding their CREDIBILITY and laughing at us, for having been foolish enough to have ever put our trust in them.
Is there ANY Institution, Public or Private, Gov., “for profit”, or “not for profit” that ANY of us feel has any CREDIBILITY any more?
From Boy Scouts, Red Cross, AMA to School boards or City Councils, Military or LE (leaders), ANY branch or office of Gov, etc. THEY have shredded their own credibility, taking off their masks and revealing their true natures.
The question is NOT “how do we restore things to that which was before”; its GONE.
The question is “WHAT comes now?”
CIVILISATION as we know it is unraveling, and the unraveling has reached the ‘tipping point’ where it can no be stopped, or reversed. As Oliver and tinkorg recognise, once trust and credibility are GONE, they ain’t coming BACK.
And, our current crumbling civilisation is built on INSTITUTIONS, and on their CREDIBILITY.
Without credibility, they are nothing, and without the Institutions, our civilisation is nothing.
If, then this IS “TEOCAWKI”, the question we need to answer is “WHAT comes next?”

I think a true measure of Adulthood is recognizing you really can’t trust anyone or any thing. I trust my wife and children, that’s my inner circle and that’s it.
Our government is built upon a Constitution, not trust. Obviously different in the UK.

Well said. I think Patriots are just biding their time, waiting for the spark that starts a Revolution. None of us wants a violent revolution, but the powers that be are driving us to it. There are only three questions left to us: 1) what is our personal line in the sand? and 2) how far will we go to defend it? and most importantly 3) what does God desire of us?
Sorry, late to catch up, but: How about FREEDOM from rulers? “Government” means, literally, “mind control.” Does your mind need to be controlled by someone else? If so, why?
We can have civilization without rulers. It’s scary, we’re indoctrinated to believe we cannot do without being ruled, but that indoctrination is a lie to serve the rulers.
We don’t need rulers. We need peaceful, mutual respect and cooperation, among each other of good will. None of us intends to go out and shoot our neighbor because there’s no “president.” A free society of productive, peacefully trading human beings with no one lording it over anyone else is possible and workable, if we really want it.

Fwiw, i tend to agree. An alarming number of Americans have become soft, ignorant, credulous, ingrates. Just imo, we haven’t reached a point of no return, though, and have a good fighting chance to beat back the authoritarian government institutions.

I have tried to find his weekly editorials on my own, including searching GBN, but have been unable to find them or get notifications of when they are posted on YT.
Brilliant and heartbreaking. My sister read me a post on Fakebook from a young man we both knew very well growing. His father was in ICU on a ventilator from covid in our local hospital.
He shared his heartbreak and anger that he and his mother could not see his dad. He begged the nursing staff and hospital administration for weeks to be allowed to see him. Everyday he would say in his update that he and his mother were convinced his dad would get well and fight harder if he only knew how many people were praying for him, pulling for him to keep fighting.
Sadly three weeks later his dad, whom we had known for many years, passed away alone without his son and wife being able to express their love and to do the one thing he was convinced that would help his dad overcome this..
If this is not the definition of evil then I don’t know what is.

There are more than a few events like that. I experienced a similar situation. You cannot go up against TPTB as one individual. The outcome is that those of us who did just don’t care about anything anymore.

I believe global leadership across Western countries are being set up purposely as failures, including the American government. The last two years have completely shattered any confidence citizens have in government, the legal system, politicians, the medical community, I could go on and on.
It’s exactly how color revolutions work in toppling existing power structures. Life in the West was simply too good before the Scamdemic for citizens to revolt against the status quo. It’s clear the past few years have been as much about weakening American hegemony as anything we’ve seen since World War II. The supply chain crisis looks almost entirely manufactured on purpose if you take a step back, which poses a direct threat to sitting Western governments.
The more I ponder these things, the more I think China and certain forces in Europe and the Middle East are colluding together. Possibly with different long-range objectives in mind but a temporary alliance in achieving their immediate goals. Too many improbable things are happening simultaneously for this to be mere coincidence.
I you take your last sentence and apply it to what happened worldwide when this plandemic first started, it should of been one of the first red flags.
Mr. Oliver is correct, but his timeline is off. The trust was broken when the DC Swamp (and their media/tech collaborators) tried to bring down the Trump MAGA presidency, and when the coup plotters were exposed, there was no accountability.
I also gave Trump my vote in 2016 solely on trust. However, aside from his numerous failings in selecting the right people, the constant lies on threatening to veto the spending bills without wall funding was the line in the sand for me. The abandonment of his people while the country was being taken over on November 3, 2020 reminded me of the troops in the jungles of Vietnam, under heavy enemy fire requesting backup from command, only to find out, unbeknown to the the troops that command was already packing up and hightailing it out. Now, this same man has the gall to back the enemy’s play by schilling for this “vaccine”. Talk about trust. I don’t forgive because I can’t forget.
