Yesterday the White House occupant equivocated any current supply chain shortages to the 1980’s Christmas shortage of Cabbage Patch dolls {link}. According to the White House narrative there are no shortages of essential products other than a few hard to find non-essential toys.
Obviously, that level of executive office propaganda is intended to gaslight a national audience into questioning themselves when they see shortages of highly consumable products like pet food and grocery store items. Unfortunately for the White House the supply chain issues are of such widespread frequency even the allied narrative engineers cannot ignore them. NBC reported that chicken tenders are “in short supply” at stores and restaurants as President Joe Biden’s supply chain crisis persists, during a segment on NBC’s “Today” on 12/2/2021.

Had lunch with a friend who owns an electronics company that makes programmable logic controllers and other electronic control devices. He told me that there are NO, as in zero available electronic components available and he’ll be out of business in a month unless some miracle happens. The suppliers are telling him that the estimated delay for these parts is 8-12 months. This is the same shortage that is shutting down the automotive industry…no electronic components to build the controls. It’s going to get really ugly….soon.
Pelosi is keeping all the components offshore in California ports. They had my welder out of stock, already paid for for almost a year. Turns out the ships in LA ports had it. Pelosi and Gavin newsome are running a scam on the American people.

Need a president that understands basic economics. Manufacturing will stay overseas as long as cheap labor and less regulation makes it attractive. You cannot have free trade between two countries with disparate economies. The money will always flow to the cheaper of the two. You have to have tariffs to even the playing field, you have to incentivize business to encourage them to manufacture here by not unduly burdening with regulations, you have to enforce market competitiveness not only for the consumers sake but also the suppliers. You cannot have the government interfering in the labor market and artificially limiting the labor pool by welfare to the able bodied. You need a government who prioritize real infrastructure spending, highways, roads, rails, waterways, bridges, and community. Most of all, you need a president and a government who is willing to stand firm and take the heat without knuckling under, and that is the hardest part of the equation to find. Trump was the most business oriented presidents I remember that actually encouraged and gave cause to invest in America, but it only goes so far when you have bureaucrats stymie progress at every turn.

hmm guess one advantage of living in the food belt.local grocery store has fresh hind quarters at .89 cents a lb in the meat case right now.we usually wait til they drop to .49 to buy 40 lbs worth,they usually have the same price sales for boneless skinless chix breasts but haven’t seen those on sale in awhile.also sale next week is for whole beef short loins at 6.99 lb for those unfamiliar with the short loins the t-bones come off the small end and porterhouses off the big end these are about a foot and a half long and run 24-26 lbs so you drop about 160 bucks but man they are good eatin.hamburger right now is 2.99 a lb , one thing i did notice.the freezer case was stocked full but if you grabbed something there was nothing behind it,they stocked it to look full.and bread man that went waay up.

Last week I saw two sets of young parents freaking out when they went to the frozen chicken tender aisle and it was empty. One wife was panicking “what are we going to do. OMG, what are we going to do”? Meanwhile, one aisle over was whole chickens, chicken breasts, and legs. I don’t think either couple have ever made a chicken dinner from scratch. It was sad to see the real panic and total loss of what to do.
I buy whole chickens -spatchcock and then cut them up with a sharp kitchen scissors
Then I package the portions and freeze them
Use the backbones for chicken stock/soup
1 chicken breast cut lengthwise makes 2 or 3 chicken steaks which you could spice up then fry/grill

I think the freak-out was not so much over making food from scratch. Let me give one parent’s take on this. My son is autistic. He’s high functioning, but autistic. He self-selected down from eating anything and everything I put before him when he was a very young child, to only eating store-bought chicken tenders, Sam’s club cheese pizza, grilled steak, rice, some green beans, and mashed potatoes. He will not eat home-cooked anything except a grilled steak, occasional green beans, mashed potatoes, rice. That is all the home-cooked he touches. He tells me at 16 that he is trying very hard to learn to eat other things, but that the texture and smell of new foods makes him nauseous.
If these parents are parents of autistic kids, they may be wigging out because their autistic kid will literally starve before he or she will eat anything but pre-packaged chicken tenders.

I have two refrigerators and a small freezer all well stocked at the moment but not enough to last 3 years (When we can tell Brandon to go for good). But maybe I can pick and choose a bit and take advantage of times of plenty in the supply chain.

Not at Chewy dot com. We’ve expected a shortage and purchased about a six-month supply of canned chicken cat food. As of this writing, Chewy can still ship from US inventory. BTW, the best chicken cat foods are packed in Thailand, and the quality of their white meat chicken cat food is known to be so high that the cat’s owners can dine on it as well. Put an open can of a good Thai white meat cat food next to an open can of Swanson’s white meat chicken, and you’ll be hard pressed to tell them apart.

Do you have a spare room or garage? Put a cage of two or three hens in there. If you put them in a large rabbit hutch, the tray will catch the droppings. Hens are quiet for the most part and nobody should ever know that they are there.

There are multiple growers probably in every state. Once Medical Marijuana became legal in some states Growers popped up overnight. I live in a small city in Ok. where the number of shops dispensing marijuana seemed to appear out of thin air in a very few days. I don’t think one has to worry about a supply of Pot ever.
I’d like to see someone perform a DNA test on one of those “chicken” nuggets; I suspect it’s the same mystery meat used in the McRib. Having said that, those nuggets sure are good with some dipping sauce.

What is wrong with these people that their kids are such picky eaters. She acts like they will starve if they don’t get what they want. This level of softness got us to where we are.
It is not softness. My autistic son at 16 has self-selected down to just a few foods that he can tolerate. It’s a texture/smell issue for these kids. Autistic kids with apraxia, like my boy, simply cannot stand certain smells and textures in their food. And, yes, they will starve if they can’t get foods that they can tolerate. It is a neurological issue, not an issue of bad parenting or rebellious, petted, spoiled kids. I guarantee you, in my house nobody is “soft.”

Well to be fair Sundance, marijuana is locally sourced and grown by local greenhouses. In MA, the dispensaries there typically are sourced by the greeneries in Maine, MA, CT, and NY. In CT, the dispensaries are supplied by CT greeneries typically. I think only a few of the dispensaries around this area are permitted to import from California or other states not bordering Ct.
I am a legalization advocate because well, this is America. I know not all agree, but if you believe in freedom, you should. It’s a harmless plant that has been demonized. I especially love listening to those who down glasses of wine, whisky, beer, or other alcoholic beverages like they are going out of style complain about weed. I find it funny for those who only occasionally drink to complain about it too. You drink alcohol, STFU about weed you hypocrites (that’s aimed at those who fall into those categories).
Weed will not be impacted because it’s very locally sourced. Less supply chain issues in that regard. Now, this BS by the WH….they are just fools. And they keep opening their mouths and proving themselves as such.
