House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) Chairman Devin Nunes sat down for an interview with Sharyl Attkisson for Full Measure News.  They discussed the HPSCI Russia probe, the FISA Court abuse and the ongoing investigative reviews of corruption within the DOJ and FBI.  [The VIDEO is Here]  The transcript is below.

[Transcript] There are numerous investigations going on, but one of them, at least, is coming to a close. That is the House Intelligence Committee investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion. As of today, that Republican-led investigation hasn’t turned up any improper ties to Russia, but has revealed something perhaps larger and even more serious. We asked to sit down with both the top Democrat and Republican on the committee, only the Republican chairman Devin Nunes agreed.

Sharyl: What is the investigation that the House intelligence committee is covering?

Rep. Devin Nunes: Well we have a Russian Investigation going on whether or not there was collusion between any campaign and the Russians. That’s coming to a close. We’ve never had any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

Sharyl Attkisson does a great job staying at a high-level and focusing on the big picture of how the DOJ and FBI are subordinate to the oversight of congress.   The intelligence apparatus is not a 4th branch of government, they a part of the Executive Branch and subject to the oversight of the Legislative Branch (Intelligence Committee and Judiciary Committee in this example).

Focusing on the FISA “Title 1” surveillance application, and the use of the “Clinton-Steele Dossier”, is much more important than most media are willing to outline. Attkisson knows how many more relevant implications and discoveries are within that application.
The FBI corrupt use of FISA surveillance authority, writ large, is also why Chairman Nunes began with the FISA “Title 1” application; and why Grassley is enhancing the HPSCI investigative memo with more validation and details. The FISA surveillance application against Carter Page, and the combination of the Clinton-Steele Dossier therein, is how all of that gets exposed.

The biggest of all BIGGER story aspects to the HPSCI Memo, in all coverage, has been overlooked by all Main Stream Media.  The Department of Justice FBI FISA request was for “Title I” surveillance authority.  This is not some innocuous request for metadata exploration – the FBI said American citizen Carter Page was a “foreign agent of a hostile foreign government”; the FBI was calling Carter Page a spy.
“Title I” FISA surveillance of U.S. citizens is the most intrusive, exhaustive and far reaching type of search, seizure and surveillance authority, permitting the FBI to look at every scintilla of Mr. Page’s life.  All communication, travel and contact can be opened and reviewed.  All aspects of any of Mr. Page’s engagements are subject to being secretly monitored.   This is an entirely different level of surveillance authority, the highest possible, and has nothing to do with FISA-702 search queries (Title VII) of U.S. persons.

To present a methaphor, under Title I FISA authority, Carter Page was essentially ‘patient zero’ in an Ebola pandemic.  Labeling him as a foreign agent allowed the FBI to look at every single person he came in contact with; and every single aspect of their lives and their activities in growing and concentric circles; without limits to current time or historic review.
The “Title I” designation as a foreign agent applied retroactively to any action taken by Mr. Page, and auto-generates an exponential list of other people he came in contact with.  Each of those people, groups or organizations could now have their communication reviewed, unmasked and analyzed by the DOJ/FBI with the same surveillance authority granted upon the target, Mr. Page.

The media’s bias, elitism, group-think, pearl-clutching and smug condescension has never been more brutally evident as it has been within this election cycle.  There is ZERO credibility remaining within the historic institutions of American media.
Journalism is beyond recovery, it is dead.  However, one of those brave few ,who took the off ramp and avoided the journey to irrelevance a few years ago, is former CBS award winning journalist Sharyl Attkisson.  Here’s her take:

Sharyl Attkisson was interviewed on NewsMax TV with Steve Malzberg and discussed an event she attended where a well known DC Journalist Bureau Chief urged all of the reporters in attendance to earnestly work at taking down candidate Donald Trump.

When you consider the event being discussed, and further add the known hatred from a very specific Washington Bureau Chief, it stands to reason Attkisson is discussing Carl Bernstein.

The left-wing media machine is striking out against Sharyl Attkisson for filing suit.  However, what the professional left fail to address is the ever present question: what other venue for redress does Attkisson have?  The DOJ obtusely denies the claim stating:

To our knowledge, the Justice Department has never compromised Ms. Attkisson’s computers, or otherwise sought any information from or concerning any telephone, computer or other media device she may own or use. (link)

Yet, within the legal DOJ obfuscation you’ll note the absence of a specific denial.  Against the backdrop of a provably weaponized DOJ commanded by Attorney General Eric Holder, who has specifically and intentionally targeted reporters, there is more than enough evidence to support the Attkisson forensic team who have identified government agencies as the source of the illegal tapping.   The discovery phase of a lawsuit is the only actionable redress to gain sunlight.
