Wow, you want to say great job U.S. Marshals Service… but then you think about what exactly they are being thanked for, and “great job” seems prayerfully inappropriate.
Ohio State Attorney General, Dave Yost, has announced the results of a 50 agency anti human trafficking operation called “Operation Autumn Hope”, and while the results are excellent the underlying evil is almost unimaginable.

(Columbus Ohio) – […] “The success of Operation Autumn Hope is measured not only in the number of arrests but in the lives that were rescued from this evil,” Yost said. “Every agency on this team looks for the day when no person is bought and sold in Ohio. Don’t buy sex in Ohio!”
During the operation, the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Trask Force, Columbus PACT Unit and the Cuyahoga County Human Trafficking Task Force rescued 109 human trafficking victims and referred them to social services.
“These vulnerable members of our population usually slip through the cracks,” said Sgt. Dana Hess, director of the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force. “This operation highlighted the vast number of potential victims and allowed law enforcement the opportunity to make contact and link them to services.”
Sondra Miller, president and CEO of the Cleveland Rape Center, whose agency was part of the social services network prepared to aid the rescued victims, said: “Survivors of rape and sex trafficking deserve to be believed and have access to justice. By holding offenders accountable and reducing demand for human trafficking, this operation prevented many others from being harmed.”
Across southern Ohio, 76 missing and exploited children cases were cleared, including 45 by physical recovery by the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
Among those missing included a 15-year-old girl missing from Cleveland whose recovery linked her and other possible victims to an individual in Columbus suspected of human trafficking; a 15-year-old male with two warrants who is a suspect in multiple shootings and a homicide; and a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing by the Lancaster Police Department who was recovered in Columbus within six hours of being reported missing. The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015 enhanced the U.S. Marshals’ authority to assist federal, state, and local law enforcement with the recovery of missing, endangered, trafficked or abducted children, regardless of whether a fugitive or sex offender was involved. The U.S. Marshals Service established a Missing Child Unit to oversee and manage the implementation of its enhanced authority under the act.
President Trump, former AG Jeff Sessions and current AG Bill Barr have unleashed the USMS to support their new authorities; they have been delivering strong results.
It must be remembered these operations have been taking place all over the country with the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) coordinating the cross-state agency efforts: Operation “Not Forgotten” rescued 39 children; Operation “Safety Net” recovered another 35; and now Operation “Autumn Hope” rescues another 45 missing children.
“This operation, with the cooperation of the law enforcement agencies, social services, and non-governmental organizations, has brought to the forefront the realities of human trafficking and the exploitation of trafficking victims. Together, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and its partners will continue with its victim-centered approach and ensure that traffickers, here in Ohio and beyond, face justice for their criminal acts.”

Meanwhile, last week the U.S. Department of Homeland Security launched the first ever national Center for Countering Human Trafficking (CCHT), and DHS Secretary Chad Wolf held a 30 minute press availability (remarks here) to announce the new federal agency.

However, in a stark example of how liberal media refuse to discuss this topic, after the announcement not a single media reporter asked a question about why this national center was so urgently needed. The media just got up and walked out.
Great work in Ohio by the U.S. Marshals Service. There is some slight solace in knowing we have at least one federal law enforcement institution effectively working on behalf of our nation. The politically disinterested politicians, and their media bootlickers, should be ashamed of their lack of forceful engagement on this issue.

What a good news story! I sincerely hope these kids will get the proper care they need. Social Services isn’t what it is cracked up to be and can create a whole new set of problems for them. For now they are safe and out of the hands of evil and for that I am grateful.
This is answered prayers. But we need to get to the root of the problem and that is how these vulnerable kids became victims in the first place.

Interesting how the left cares more about 500 children brought illegally into our country, who are safely being cared for, than about hundreds of American children who are being victimized and abused right under our noses. The only reason to ignore this is that they are complicit.
I don’t know whether they actually care, or are so busy virtue signaling that they don’t bother to consider what happens to those kids, either.
The people on the left that control the narrative definitely are complicit.

At this point, it’s really hard to resist drawing conclusions. But doesn’t it answer questions about by, when “good people” are appointed to drain the swamp, they suddenly reverse course and refuse to act? Sure, there are moments such as the assassination of a sitting judge’s family… examples of someone otherwise incorruptible as Trump himself. But aren’t they incredibly few and far between?
Isn’t it far more likely that the ghost of J.Edgar Hoover lives on within the CIA and other intelligence agencies? Doesn’t power corrupt?
I often think of a girl that I knew in high school that disappeared, never to be found. She was probably about 15/16 when I knew her and she disappeared. She was a good kid, that started dabbling in drugs and started hanging out with older boys/young men.
She liked me and I liked her, but over the course of maybe 2 months, the above started happening and then one day she just disappeared. She was not from a troubled family situation, or likely to be a runaway.
We weren’t boyfriend/girlfriend, but for a while it seemed like it was heading that way.
It was really painful seeing her on the milk cartons and realizing that she was probably abducted, sexually abused and ultimately murdered.
We may not share the same definitions of what constitutes a troubled family situation. That she was into drugs and older boys/men suggests otherwise. Either her parents knew about it and didn’t care or she hid it amazingly well and she was simply able to do this because they didn’t teach her otherwise.
And it could also be that various forms of abuse were not (and are often not) readily apparent to you or anyone outside of the household.
It’s definitely more sad when you know who the face on the milk carton actually is. My wife has a circle of friends where they all talk about each other but not necessarily to each other. There was a very troubled girl who was getting into a LOT of trouble with drugs, crime and bad boys. Yet another tragic ending — the mother was highly neglectful and the girl died of a violent overdose. Before she died, my wife was telling me about the situation and I said I’d be happy to talk to her or to both of them as the girl’s father had died some time before. I thought it was likely the lack of a father in the home was a big part of the problem. My wife thought it best not to get involved. Months go by and she told me the girl died. It gets to me knowing that there might have been a chance a little involvement could have saved her life and put her on to a better path. But it’s too late now.
Part of the cultural crisis in our country is the lack of family. And while you might have thought “no problems at home” I might suggest what you think isn’t a problem is actually an artifact of slipping standards. This whole nothing of “empowered girls” is utterly ridiculous and dangerous in the first place. Girls and women are physically weaker. It doesn’t matter that they can do any job they choose. What matters in life and death is the fact that they are physically (on average) than men and far more likely to be a victim of men. Mothers and fathers used to teach their girls about this sobering reality. Does that happen any more? Certainly not as often as it once was. Girls were taught to value boys/men who are smart, responsible and can take care of a family. Without that teaching, young people revert to “nature” rely on what nature does which is more about physical appeal and sex drive.
“But men should be taught not to rape and kill!” Sounds a lot like “car should be taught not to run people over” to me. Life is unpredictable. The only sane approach is to learn to limit risk for ourselves because projecting responsibility for yourself onto others/strangers is no way to live a safe or healthy life.
Think of the emotional and physical marks on these victims. It will be difficult for them to return to normalcy, unless they are returned to a loving family. As with abortion and those souls lost, this is a stain on the lives of too many people and on our nation. Those who hide or condone both are cruel.
Thank God for President Trump and the US Marshalls who do this work. It must be emotionally draining, yet satisfying.
