Next Debate Moderator: Former Joe Biden Intern and Self-Proclaimed “Never Trump” Resistance Member…

The next debate moderator has been selected.  The October 15th debate will be moderated by Steve Scully, a former intern for Vice-President Joe Biden and a self proclaimed member of the “never Trump” resistance group.  You can’t make this stuff up:

WASHINGTON – […]  Let’s not forget that another debate looms on the calendar. This one promises to present a stark contrast to Tuesday’s bout. For one thing, experts and critics are already proposing to cancel future debates or launch format changes to quell all that chaos and cacophony.

Then there is the moderator to consider. When debate day dawns on Oct. 15 the moderator will be none other than Steve Scully, senior political editor of C-SPAN. (read more)

You guys still dont get it. This is exactly what Trump wants. This bias infuriates his base. So we will walk over broken glass to vote for him. Its so unfair that it pisses us off. This had already hit talk radio and conservative media. Trump loves this. He uses their own bias and tds to get us riled up. This motivates us! Trump’s a big boy. He can wrestle a handicap match. The more they lie, the more it fires us up. We vote and the left sees that Biden is not their Bernie. Biden is depressing the woke base.

Obviously #2, playing chess. I hope he tightens up his sound bites with more details on his accomplishments (and Biden’s weaknesses). He’s used to rally speak where his fans know exactly what he’s talking about.

I believe this new debate format, with the leftist Scully as “moderator” is a huge trap for PDJT.

I see nothing but danger, and massive unnecessary risk.

Yes, I know…he is our capable warrior, our Lion, etc. But this next venue will be staged and tweaked, and prepared, in every possible way…and not to PDJT’s favor.

I see very little to gain.

Better to focus time and resources on on rallies, door-to-door, maybe some kind of online “Townhalls”.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think either campaign has any word in it. According to the Commission on Presidential Debates website, they select the venues and the moderators. The moderators than select the questions.

Under the heading, ‘How are the Debate Moderators Chosen?‘ (link below) it states, “They do not meet with the campaigns, nor do the campaigns have a role in moderator selection.

Okay, but why should these old liberals get to decide anything about the debates? It’s not “their” debate! They should be there to facilitate, not dictate terms.

How about 4 debates – one campaign picks 2 moderators and the other campaign picks the other 2? Or debates with 2 moderators, one pick for each campaign?

I really don’t get who elected these people to control the debates. I sure as hell didn’t give my consent.

He’s not afraid of them, he’s not intimidated by them, he doesn’t think they’re going to be able to ding him in the least. And his internal polling must be telling him that he’s right. I think the most surprising thing to him about Washington DC and the federal government and the mainstream media it’s just how not bright they are. They’re so focused on little tiny gotchas that have worked for them in the last 25 years, and even though they keep failing, they keep trying, because that’s all they’ve got. Their horizon is maybe 48 hours. And he keeps gathering information, gathering ammunition, and it’s going to be a shock to them when he finally uses it.

Why are the debates beholden to legacy media? When the debate commission came about in the 80’s television was king. Now it’s a far second the internet. Divorce these debates from corporate TV (almost all of which is Leftist), host it at a university, allow streaming by anyone who wants to broadcast, and have the moderator be someone outside of corporate media, who understands the stringent 2 minutes here, 2 minutes there format BS is nonsense, and who instead simply serves to introduce the candidates then allow them to discuss (and yell) about whatever they want.
