Earlier today President Trump delivered remarks as he departed the White House for a campaign event in Pennsylvania. During his impromptu remarks President Trump remarked the announcement of the supreme court nominee will be Saturday at 5:00pm. [Video and Transcript Below]

[Transcript] – THE PRESIDENT: Hello, everybody. So we’re going to Pittsburgh. We have a very big crowd, as always. We have a very, very big crowd. We are doing, actually — I think it’s a lot hotter than it was even four years ago. People like the job we’re doing, and I think we’re going to have a very successful day.
Do you have any questions, please?
Q Have you made up your mind on the Supreme Court or how close to it —
THE PRESIDENT: I’m getting very close to having a final decision made. Very close.
Q Are you going to meet with —
THE PRESIDENT: I’m going to make it, I believe, at 5 o’clock on Saturday. I’ll be having a conference.
Q How many people have you interviewed? How many interviews?
THE PRESIDENT: I’ve talked to many people — many people.
Q Why haven’t you said anything about the U.S. hitting — why haven’t you said anything about the U.S. hitting 200,000 deaths from COVID?
THE PRESIDENT: Say it?

THE PRESIDENT: Go ahead. Anybody else?
Q Mr. President, could you speak to the grim milestone today of 200,000 deaths to the virus? What do you want to say to the American people?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think it’s a shame. I think if we didn’t do it properly and do it right, you’d have two and a half million deaths. If you take a look at alternatives, you could have two and a half million deaths or something thereabouts. You could have a number that would be substantially more.
With all of that being said, we shouldn’t have had anybody. And you saw my United Nations speech. China should’ve stopped it at their border. They should’ve never let this spread all over the world, and it’s a terrible thing. But had we not closed our country down and reopened — and now we’re doing well in reopening; the stock market is up — all of those things. But I think it’s a horrible thing.
But if we had not done it right, you could have two million, two and a half million, or three million. But it’s a horrible thing. It should’ve never, ever happened. China let this happen, and just remember that.
Q Do you think that we could hit another 200,000-death milestone?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I know this: The original numbers were around 200,000, if you do it right, if you did a good job, and if the public worked along. And if you didn’t do it right, you’d be a at two million, two and a half million. Those were the numbers.
But this should’ve never happened. This should’ve never come out of China. They should’ve never let it happen. So that’s it.
Q Are you going to meet with Barbara Lagoa this week on Friday? Or when?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I don’t want to talk about who I’m meeting with, but I’ve spoken to many, and we’re getting close to a decision. We’re going to be doing it on Saturday. We’re going to be meeting on Saturday. A lot of paperwork to do. And I think it’s going to go very quickly.
Q And then one of the things that the Democrats are saying is that, if you go ahead with this, it could tear the country apart. What’s your reaction to that?
THE PRESIDENT: Oh, I don’t think so. I — we need nine justices. You need that. With the unsolicited millions of ballots that they’re sending, it’s a scam; it’s a hoax. Everybody knows that. And the Democrats know it better than anybody else.
So you’re going to need nine justices up there. I think it’s going to be very important. Because what they’re doing is a hoax, with the ballots. They’re sending out tens of millions of ballots, unsolicited — not where they’re being asked, but unsolicited. And that’s a hoax, and you’re going to need to have nine justices.
So doing it before the election would be a very good thing because you’re going to probably see it, because what they’re doing is trying to sow confusion and everything else. And, you know, when they talk about Russia, China, and all these others, they will be able to do something here because paper ballots are very simple — whether they counterfeit them, forge them, do whatever you want. It’s a very serious problem. And the Democrats know what they’re doing is wrong, and all they want to do is go forward with it. So I think you’re going to need the nine justices.
Also, I have a constitutional obligation to put in nine judges — justices. So I think you’re going to be very impressed when you see — all of them. I mean, they’re all great. These are all very talented people, and I think you’ll be very impressed by the person chosen. Okay?

This may not be what you have in mind but Louisville, KY has closed court houses in anticipation of police being charged/not charged in the killing of Breona Taylor. They’ll riot either way unfortunately.
Saw pictures of the courthouses being boarded up in anticipation of a hurricane of riots. We shall see.
Just a little bit on that. The info has been very scarce. Some public facts are now known to be falsehoods such as they had the wrong house and it was a no knock raid.
Breanna was an associate of a known crack dealer. That dealer was seen going into and out of her apartment and at time, received mail there. Breanna may or may not have been involved with the drug dealing.
The police were going to take down the drug dealer and had 5 locations they were going to raid. They knew the dealer was not at Breanna’s house. They may have done no knock at the dealers location but Breanna’s was considered a soft target and they were doing a knock and announce.
At 12:30 am agents knocked on her door loudly for an extended period. They said they announced themselves several times. After that extended time, they knocked the door in.
Meanwhile Breanna was asleep in bed with her boyfriend (not the dealer). They said they didn’t hear the knock and announce at first and never heard an announcement. At some point they heard the knocking and asked who it was and received no response.
The boyfriend thought it might be the drug dealer and had armed himself with a legal weapon. At that time, they kicked the door in. The boyfriend fired one shot hitting an officer in the leg. The 3 officers returned fire with multiple rounds, killing Breanna who was behind her boyfriend. I don’t believe there were any drugs found in her house.
So this was NOT the wrong house, was NOT a no knock, they had a valid warrant, and ultimately was a tragic accident. Not a crime. One of the officers was fired because they said he shot too randomly into the house and endangered neighboring residents, including children. I guess that is subjective.
So you can expect no officers will be charged unless the #blacktoo movement succeeds in railroading these cops. But Kentucky will burn anyway because the mob has no regard for truth and justice, just violence and chaos for political reasons.
We stayed in Louisville on Saturday night, driving back from Hilton Head. Places were already being boarded up and I saw several people wearing Breonna Taylor shirts. Then a day or so later there was a murder. Now today the city will be charred to a cinder.

There has been that feeling you have by many people and the President has been laying little crumbs for us to pick up on, plus his demeanor has changed over the last few weeks leading us to believe something big is coming.
The Dems and RINOs are showing signs of caving on the RBG replacement… feels like they are trying to drive a bargain to avoid their doom. Don’t let them.
Hypothetical: let Joe get out of the debates for some half-assed reason, and you can have your SCOTUS pick.
One of those bombs will come before next Tuesday. That bomb will give Biden the “out” to decline the debates. But that is only the first of the Democrat “bombs”.
My guess is the other bomb will come from the AG of New York bringing charges against either Trump himself, or Donald Jr…..or perhaps Eric.
What is needed is something on the order of a MOAB delivered to the Democrats. For instance, a video or audio or something that really incriminates Biden and Hunter in the Ukraine pay-to-play scandal. Another one would be something regarding the whole Russia hoax / Mueller witch hunt. It would be SO nice if a Special Prosecutor was assigned to look into both of them. Doubt it will, but it could.
The notorious RBG dying is good karma for Trump, but he / we are going to need all the good luck and divine blessing possible. Trillions are at stake and that kind of money can buy a whole lot–including the fraudulent election of a fraudulent president and his amoral succubus VP.
If the Senate repubs led by the Turtle would just have an up or down vote on the nominee without any hearings to give our enemies a public platform that they will grotesquely abuse I might have at least a little confidence that “our side” is is FINALLY willing to LEAD instead of merely reacting to the initiatives of our enemies. There is absolutely no legal reason for failing to do this and it would mean we might (Roberts cannot be relief upon in any fight) even have a conservative majority court to decide the inevitable legal battles after Trump humiliates Biden and our enemies November 3rd.

The constitution requires the Senate to give their advice and consent for confirmation of federal judges. Not to allow what will surely be a disgrace would be unconstitutional and would open up correct challenges to the confirmation, and possibly give actual grounds for more impeachment proceedings, which are started in the House. If Republicans just stand down and let only Dems give their advice and consent, the American people will hear only made up BS about the nominee. I resent the silent GOP leadership like crazy, but this would be a bad situation for them to throw the rules away. After the confirmation and election, I hope the GOP will finally take the %^€<#* gloves off. Just MHO

The committee circuses, like so much else in the “rules” of the Senate (and the House) are an encrustation on the Constitutional process designed only to inject partisan politics into the process.
I don’t know what cases have been decided under the term “advice and consent”, but the fact that there have been public hearings At least since the first nomination I remember in the 70’s, I think it’s safe to say they’re either legally mandated as part of the right to “advice and consent” or they are established practice. Evidently you are unaware that for the majority of US history there was no norm to hold Senate Judiciary Committee hearings for every Supreme Court nomination. There is nothing in the US Constitution to require such a process. “Advice and consent” means whatever the Senate decides it means upon a final vote on the nominee. Only since 1955 have all SCOTUS nominees received a public hearing process in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Before 1925 none ever did.
Thus, a great many justice have been appointed to the SCOTUS without public hearings as the form of “advice and consent.”
Granted, there would be lots of MSM squawking if Graham and McConnell proceed in any very different ways for this nomination, but there will be lots of such squawking regardless.
I hope for more limited, very professional and focused hearings. Fantasy, yes, but Graham and McConnell should announce in advance that if the Democraps try to turn it into another disgraceful slander session that the hearings will be adjourned immediately and the nomination will be presented for a vote by the entire Senate.

Here’s the deal. Politics is the art of the possible. McConnell and Miss Lindsey HAVE the votes and the Constitution; they make the Senate schedule, and they have public opinion and Trump (and his millions of voters) behind them.
So, if McConnell and Miss Lindsey truly WANT Trump’s nominee to be voted on (and passed) before the election, then it will happen–period. It’s all a matter of priorities, desire and political self-preservation. It’s just that simple.
The hearing in the Judicial committee is not in the constitution. This is something the senate decided to do in recent history. It is not mandatory.

It certainly appears the votes are there so why in the world should “our side” open the door to the evil of our enemies by allowing hearings? The top candidates were already vetted and approved by the Senate for their current judgeships so the “quality” of the nominee is not an issue.
Thus the ONLY reason our enemies want hearings is to do to the nominee what they tried to do to every conservative nominee for the last 30 years, with each effort getting more and more hysterical and outright evil.
In a way I WANT hearings, because I assume the Dems would treat Barrett or Lagoa the same as they treated Kavanaugh. An allegation–no matter how specious or outlandish–would give the Dems the ability to scream coverup and claim the nominee is unqualified. (That allegation is being developed right now.) And it would give the Enemedia the meme that the nominee was being appointed under a ” cloud of suspicion and controversy”. That “stigma” would NEVER go away as the left is as relentless as they are ruthless.
McConnell and Miss Lindsey should use the relatively recent Senate hearings of Barrett or Lagoa (assuming those are the two front-runners) as sufficient to meeting the “Advice and Consent” requirements of the Constitution and hold a vote in two or three weeks–if not sooner.
It will be Graham’s responsibility to maintain order and decorum. He will look like a fool if he permits the Dems to attack the nominee as allowed by Grassley.

If the “public” hasn’t figured this out already, the hearings will not shift many voters. The upside of showing decisive leadership and actually getting a new justice “installed” is far better than any potential value in letting our enemies run another monkey house show.

If they do to Barbara Lagoa or Amy Coney Barrett what they did to Brett Kavanaugh then America will get a stark reminder of just how vile the Dhims truly are. During the election for all to see.

I like the Judiciary committee having their meeting. Even w the delay tactics of DEMs, it can only take three days. And just think, they will try their BS smears from the time of the announcement, till reported out of committee. If they are as Ape-shit as they were w Kavanaugh, Trump and Republican approval goes up. It also keeps other Dems talking points buried for the next couple weeks. On the other hand, the sooner approved, the sooner the Dems will be depressed – after all the big talk, Dems were powerless! Depresses their turnout somewhat.

So I had read on Wikipedia, yes, not a great source, that there are two kinds of originalists.
One, who holds to the intent of the original authors. And Wikipedia says it can be problematic. I don’t really agree with that.
Apparently, Scalia was not that kind of originalist. So, supposedly, he took the written word, without consideration of the original debates and intentions of the authors of the legislation or amendments in the Constitution. Only its “ordinary meaning”.
This is how we’ve gotten into trouble with illegal immigration and birthright citizenship. The authors never intended for the 14th amendment to give citizenship to children of foreign nationals.

If you read thru the thread you’ll see some examples of why. In particular, she doesn’t seem to be an advocate for liberty, as evidenced by her ruling on lockdowns Illinois. The whole rationale for her seems to be solely based on her exchange with Feinstein during her federal court hearing.

The republican’s understand the dems have a plan to steal this election in the courts and with mail voters. JMO that is the reason he has the votes and so stated. They understand Roberts is compromised as ObamaCare told us. Getting the SC to 5-4 without counting on Roberts is without a doubt one of the biggest stories that has happened in Trump’s 4 years. It is a strong possibility the R’s will not have the senate in 2021 so they better get it done now.
I’m one who thinks the GOP will keep the Senate. Alabama is a pickup, so that puts us at 54-46. That gives us some breathing room plus at least a 50/50 chance of winning the seat in Michigan with John James.

I don’t know how it happened, but some way or other I got on the mailing list for John Hickenlooper in Colorado. He’s running (as a Dem) against the current Rep senator. So every day I get an email asking for money, whining, etc. At first (a couple months ago) most of the emails were upbeat. But little by little he’s started to sound a little desperate, no longer talking about how great HE would be, but how horrible Gardner is for supporting Trump, McConnell, etc. At first I guess polls were looking pretty good for Hickenlooper… but apparently now there’s some internal polling telling a different story. GOOD.
Rush said yesterday that his sources indicated that the Senate proceedings could be over and the justice nomination approved within one week as Leader McConnell intends to fast track the procedure and get senators back on the campaign trail.
I think President Trump is going to fool and shock everyone. My sources tell me that the Supreme Court nominee will be . . . . Fightin’ Roy Blunt!

The courts are thoroughly corrupted, folks. It almost doesn’t matter who Trump picks. We’re seeing signs of that from Gorsuch. Roberts is gone. The only justice I’d even remotely consider is any judge who made it their mission to strike down any and all abuses of government power. Somebody who ruled against the lockdowns, ruled against gun-grab/ban legislation, against attempts to thwart immigration law, etc.
As a practicing Roman Catholic, I couldn’t care less if the nominee is Catholic. Sotomayor is Catholic. Kennedy was Catholic. A lot of Catholics are hard-core Leftists. A lot aren’t. Roberts is Catholic.
Trump frequently gets some terrible advice from the NeverTrumpers masquerading as loyalists in his sphere. I hope he finds the most hard core conservative justice in America, if that judge is female, ok, but it is not a requirement. I would invite Clarence Thomas over for dinner and ask him who he would pick.
Sounds like they’ve made up their mind. But I warn you, be prepared to be disappointed in this person unless you can point to a slew of rulings empowering the government to enforce immigration law, restricting abortion, opposing or striking down the illegal “lockdowns”, and striking down 2nd Amendment infringements.
The Dems are angling for some concession for behaving even approximately like the loyal opposition in the SCOTUS replacement. I think it has to do with the open(Ing) secret that Biden is unelectable, due to dementia.
My recommendation to PDJT is to go ahead and make a deal with them, and after the seat is secured, double-cross the SOBs, and let them complain to the American people about it! It’s what they would do to you, after all!
He doesn’t need to play games with it. They are powerless to stop it, and they blew their wad on Kavanaugh losing three Senate seats in the process. It’s a good bet his nominee gets confirmed in less than a month. Democrats lose a motivation to vote. Trump further unifies and motivates his base (keeping promises). GOP Senators have almost no wiggle room to flake out, and need to be campaigning in their home states not sitting in pointless hearings.
