Does a special, counsel protect the investigation past the election in case Trump loses?

      • cboldt says:

Yes. At least in the sense that incoming administration would have a hard time firing it, without causing notice of the public of the blatant double standard that protected Mueller’s witch hunt. And too, if appointed well before the election, can’t honestly be labeled as “lame duck gotcha trap set by loser Trump.”
There are other benefits to a hypothetical SC. The core reason to use SC is to create more trust in the outcome, on the part of the public. DOJ can’t investigate itself, basically, or investigate political actors, or any of other reasons that the public is signaling that they don’t trust the usual suspects.
In this case, the result would not come from Barr, who the DEMs have been busy painting as a toadie.
And too, see Mueller report, an SC report is usually made public especially when there is a decision to not prosecute.
There is also the news shock value of a special council having run an investigation without advance notice to Congress or the public. Front page for that reason alone, regardless of result.

They are blatant and they don’t care what the public thinks. Their masks are off and they are telling us what they will do. They can not go back into hiding they will be going over the top with power. Sadly if we go to war with these evil monsters, we will be opening ourselves to full scale attacks from countries that want us and our constitution destroyed. This country has stood in the way of an evil world empire from coming. It waits.

We have to win this election. I think if President Trump does not win, that the good people in government and the military will have to step in with marshal law and begin military tribunals to deal with this evil.

I believe that Trump will win. It is God’s plan. Afterwards we are going to see the biggest world wide revival this world has ever seen. The Holy Spirit poured out in such a way as millions of souls saved through the blood of the lamb. Healing flowing from heaven like summer rain. World wide praise rising to the King of kIngs and Lord of lords, from hearts in such a crescendo, that it will felt as holy fire running through our veins.

I would just point out that the special counsel law was intended to investigate CRIMES, not counter-intelligence investigations, & Rosenstein’s authorization to Mueller was outside the scope of the law.

The Special Counsel reports directly to the AG, not Congress & not the public. It is up to the AG’s discretion to disseminate the whole, part or none of the report to anyone he/she wants to.

When the old independent counsel law expired, Democrats were horrified with the Ken Starr investigation of Pres. Clinton & the impeachment. The new special counsel law enacted by Congress was written to avoid what Democrats called a witch hunt of any president. They could have made the SC report to Congress or the Supreme Court or whoever, but they didn’t.

And now Democrats don’t like the Special Counsel Law because they realized they weren’t even entitled to the report, let alone control the SC’s investigation.

But Rosenstein did authorize Mueller to do want Democrats wanted, but there was no “there there.” And Mueller did ruin the lives of many Trump supporters, as well as George Papadopoulos, Gen. Flynn, Paul Manafort, and Roger Stone.

Yes, a columnist suggested appointing a special counsel a few months ago to protect all of these investigations, should Biden win/steal this election.

That was the point of Mueller taking over the DOJ operation from Trump. It’s really tough for a president to get rid of a special counsel, as we saw.

Caveat, though, is the Republicans are wimps. Most of them would roll over to get their belly rubbed in response to Biden killing an investigation into himself, just as they did with Mueller’s appointment and antics. The Dems are evil, shameless demons, but they fight like hell, and have the media to help them. A new special counsel would not be nearly as protected as Mueller was. Double standard, but true.

IMHO, a minor error in choice of title name; not deliberate; no significance.

PDJT said earlier (or afterwards) that he calls Mueller a “special prosecutor” instead of a special counsel, so it was obvious that slightly he mis-spoke in referring to Durham as a special counsel when he meant prosecutor, I picked up on that easily.

The President apparently looks on the SC as a special prosecutor. If there are any legal differences between the two I think it’s pretty safe bet that the President is not addressing the two titles knowing those differences. From his perspective it doesn’t make much difference to him.

I really liked Trump’s public offer to Barr he stands to be the GOAT Attorney General or if “he wants to be politically correct” just another guy

Trumps has reversed liberal reality, now Trumps true claims circle the planet, before liberal lies can get their shoes on.
Compare Trumps style of, “swatting down fallacies as they fly, before they have time to bite” to George Bush being “above it all” and hoping the public will know better.

The truth no one can avoid is what’s happening right where they are. The media can call the violence in Portland, or Seattle’s ‘Chaz’ peaceful all they want. The people who live there know it’s burning, looting, and destruction of their cities. They see the rioters without masks while they are hiding out in their homes, living in fear. The unemployed know they no longer have a job because their governors and mayors have shut down their places of employment. They see homeless people camping and crapping on the sidewalk while their mayors pretend it’s not happening. They will see that the crime rate is going up around them. And even the most foolish will eventually say this is BS, enough’s enough. And they will turn on the government leaders closest to them, the ones they can shout at face to face, their governors and mayors.

It is also impossible for the left to ban Trump on Fox (OAN, or wherever) like they can on Twitter. He needs to do this regularly each week, rotating among the various news outlets. If he’s responding to “news” or comments against him from Biden/Harris, he can’t be legitimately accused of campaigning. I propose a nickname: Kameleon Harris. She unfailingly changes her political appearance to match the polling environment.

Unfortunately the Left (communists in America) has also been “flooding the zone” with utter BS and sneakily twisted “facts” (lies) for decades. They have had a long running start way before our President came into office.

And the Left has six primary TV news + entertainment networks, all lying in unison about the Administration while only one broadcast network (Fox) is being more honest, and only then on a part-time basis (only a few show hosts out of dozens).

Then there is OANN which is streaming-only and has been refused by all corporate-owned broadband cable providers of which I am aware.

The only downer were his comments about keeping the Senate. We’ll see. I really think the rallies will start again when the China flu burns out (he was optimistic about that too), and “Trumpmentum” will build till Nov 3.

We’ll have to figure out what to do with all the communists and other traitors eventually. First things first though. Everything depends on Nov 3. All our efforts should be poured into winning on that day.

As usual the “FAKE Media “, is taking that out of context.

The next stimulus package has in it 3.5 Billion dollars for ballots and 25 billion dollars for the Post Office to process “Universal Mail in Ballots. These ballots are indiscriminately mailed to unpurged voter rolls”. (IIRC some voters in California were 125 years old 🤔🤔)
NOT Absentee ballots, which have to be requested from the county’s election board.

In the next stimulus package, includes a whole bunch of PORK, unrelated to the COVID-19 Flu, expenses. IIRC 3.5 Trillion dollars, total, a Bill that IIRC is written in over 1900 pages, what could be hidden in there🤔🤔?. Mostly Pork? Some of the low points, Fixing state and local pension funds, operating funds, graft, etc. because of their total mismanagement, usually from bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy BLUE STATES, Counties and Cities.

Ninja7, I would point out that the Postal Service is $25 billion in debt. Nancy has been trying to bail them out for at least the last year. Businessman Trump doesn’t want to do that unless they change their business model to run more efficiently & making bad business deals, like w/Amazon.

So we have a new person running & reorganizing the Postal Service. They have already flunked primary mail-in voting for smaller elections. So now Nancy says Pres. Trump is reorganizing the Postal Service deliberately to thwart the will of the people.

Why wouldn’t you reorganize something that’s $25 billion in debt? Why would you give a company that makes bad business decisions the primary responsibilty to deliver 150 million ballots timely & return them timely to state officials who then have to count them, etc.??

I’ll give you an answer that shold make you call your elected officials:

A caller to Rush says from all his reading, if there is not a final talley & a winner to the presidency declated by 1/21/2021, Nancy Pelosi becomes President. Even if it’s just until they do declare the winner, she can do a whole lot of damage, including declaring the election fraudulent & void.

I don’t know if the caller is correct, but it would explain the Democrat Communist Fascists demanding mail-in voting at this late stage. And BTW, I believe the Supreme Court has said it’s the states that decides the election process, not the feds, which is why we can’t get voter id requirements nationwide via Congress.

I REALLY don’t know how President Trump keeps his anger under control when speaking to MB. I Just don’t,
Please look for the article from Simon Black on ZH, re the ” IRONY of it all.” President Trump is “running” for office against a woman sniffer with so many valid claims against him and as well as what he and he son did in Ukraine and China. Oh, and JB says, “I don’t remember.” That makes him a triple CON ARTIST.
And from what I am able to ken, KH HATES black men to the 9th degree (loves putting them in prison for non-criminal felonies). Need more BLACK people in prison ( I guess) to work on chain gangs on forest fires; and work in slave labor camps for whatever needs to be done just for smoking a forking joint and getting caught at it. Wonder who is profiting from that?
As for the USPS, I spoke with the woman at the Post Office and asked her about when the USPS (unlike any other agency) was required to start funding their pension plans in advance.. She said 2006. Said that pensions for the USPS are being taken out of their budget for 75 years in advance.
So many rackets going on I can hardly keep up.

Harris is trying to get by on charm! — women need to answer when harris flutters her eyelids and makes preposterous statements such as “trump’s at fault for our unemployment” – I hope some strong GOP women are on stage at the convention because I think american women are disgusted with harris insubstantial phony act, superficial chameleon opportunism-glad to hear nikki haley or joni ernst will be there, and I hope also to see them assisted by other very effective serious female attack dogs such as kaylee mckinney, sara huckabee sanders, liz cheney, elise stefanik –I think they will not be accused of sexism for directly and forcefully attacking harris and they will help president Trump win the women’s vote
