    There is no indication Barr is going to reveal anything of importancr friday. He played it down when talked ng about it.. Could be something as simple as someone getting fired, or adding a new prosecutor to the probe.

    • KBR says:

      He did play it down. Yet he said it would be enough to show that “things are moving in the right direction.”

      Ivy League education has been over-rated for decades: God and Man at Yale was written by William F. Buckley in the early 1950’s to expose the Leftism already rampant at Yale.

      A good number of pro-Communist, Stalinist apologists, and “fellow travelers” in the Roosevelt administration came out of the Ivy League.

      Going back even farther into Time, Woodrow Wilson was president of Princeton, and he was no Conservative!

      In 1982, Brown University rejected my application for admission (the hand of Providence at work). I choose to attend a small women’s college in Virginia where I received a fantastic education. The expectations, academically and socially, truly enriched my experience. I also received terrific academic merit scholarships.

      The campus climate is more important than any so-called “aura,” especially now.

        My university was similar in excellence: it was only 5 years old, but as a quadruple major who would become a teacher (mainly in Catholic schools) I found many, many superb teachers there! And the Library was incredible!

        I have often told my students that the “name” colleges guarantee nothing: 45 years ago Harvard accepted a student from my school (at the time) who was a first-class schmuck and goldbrick, but who had family connections. Their acceptance of him confirmed my worst suspicions.

It was not mismanagement — it was outright aggressioin, deception and deceit on a global scale when they halted air travel from Wuhan to the rest of China, while flooding the rest of the world with infected Wuhan pandemic refugees — MUCH worse than a couple of A bombs.

          Exactly. And everyone reading CTH KNOWS the details. “All this” does not start with Zero-44. But 2008 was the first time that an out-and-out communist could be fraudulently foisted on the American people solely for communist-globalist purposes.

          (Anyone reading CTH who voted for Zero-44 hang your head in shame, look at your past beliefs, learn from Sundance – and Nunes – teach your children and grandchildren American truths, virtue, and Can-Do spirit, and vow this will never happen again, Courageous Sundance.)

          Never forget that the Virus, created by Shi Zheng-Li and Peng Zhou in the Wuhan Level 4 Viral Pathogen Lab , when they perfected the means to sustain transmission in alveolar cell cultures, funded by Anthony Fauci’s NIH, was an attempt to create a weapon capable of ending all human llfe on Earth.

          It was blasted at the World like a shaped charge, or a nuclear detonator, with the hard ring around Wuhan and a soft side to the World via the returning New Year celebrant via unrestricted air travel…after hoarding as much of the World’s PPE as they could.

          Do you remeember the heart-breaking images of our hospital staff wearing garbage bags taped up while their counterparts in Wuhan were wearing spacesuits?

          The CCCP NEVER reported the Virus to WHO. The “delayed reporting” is a media-created myth. The Virus was discoverd by a private pandemic monitoring group in the US and Taiwan who questioned Wuhan health authorities on January 5

          The Pres knows all this of course and it’s why he often says these days he’s not so interested in persuing a deal with China.

            The ‘Times of India’ details the dose of Ivermectin (IVM) to be given instead of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to the 200 million residents of Uttar Pradesh who test positive for Coronavirus or come in contact with infected people. They say IVM safer than HCQ:

            Don’t know about “health care heroes” wearing garbage bags taped up, but I do remember the NYC full PPE TikTok dances the “heath care heroes” posted early on. I guess using precious and rare PPE to make Tik Toks was more important than using it properly to treat patients. And it does garner more sympathy for you as a “health care hero” if you whine on TV in a garbage bag at the front of the hospital while dancing in PPE in the back.

            And I remember the empty hospital ships. And the empty emergency Central Park field hospital. And the scores of fragile elderly condemned to die alone by draconian “lock down” orders that still didn’t keep the disease out of nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

            Yeah. Maybe we just don’t remember the same things.

            Scamdemic. Dampanic. Planned-demic.

        I agree. I am coming around to reconcile the fact that China’s evil govt. created the whole covid mess on purpose. If not on purpose from the beginning, certainly they took the oppurtunity to use a research mistake as a weapon to get the world in turmoil and save face on the fact their economy is failing and their fear of what PTrump did through his tariffs and trade deals.

        The timing is just way too convenient and all the evidence that has been revealed so far points to a deliberate attack on their own people and everyone else especially the USA and Donald Trump. They want him out of office as bad as the left, antiTrumpers and globalists do and maybe even had their help doing it. My opinion of course.

    Is there any blog with any kind of dedicated activity of this level?

    Totally random Morning Devotional from 1st Samuel 17.

    21 And Israel and the Philistines drew up for battle, army against army. 22 And David left the things in charge of the keeper of the baggage and ran to the ranks and went and greeted his brothers.

    23 As he talked with them, behold, the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, came up out of the ranks of the Philistines and spoke the same words as before. And David heard him.

    24 All the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were much afraid. 25 And the men of Israel said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel. And the king will enrich the man who kills him with great riches and will give him his daughter and make his father’s house free in Israel.”

    26 And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” 27 And the people answered him in the same way, “So shall it be done to the man who kills him.”

    28 Now Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men. And Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, “Why have you come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your presumption and the evil of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.” 29 And David said, “What have I done now? Was it not but a word?” 30 And he turned away from him toward another, and spoke in the same way, and the people answered him again as before.

    31 When the words that David spoke were heard, they repeated them before Saul, and he sent for him.

    32 And David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”

    33 And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him, for you are but a youth, and he has been a man of war from his youth.”

    34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father. And when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb from the flock, 35 I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth. And if he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and struck him and killed him. 36 Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.”

    37 And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”

    38 Then Saul clothed David with his armor. He put a helmet of bronze on his head and clothed him with a coat of mail, 39 and David strapped his sword over his armor. And he tried in vain to go, for he had not tested them. Then David said to Saul, “I cannot go with these, for I have not tested them.” So David put them off.

    40 Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherd’s pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine.

    41 And the Philistine moved forward and came near to David, with his shield-bearer in front of him.

    42 And when the Philistine looked and saw David, he disdained him, for he was but a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance. 43 And the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

    44 The Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the field.”

    45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.”

    48 When the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.

    49 And Sundance put his hand in his bag and took out a stone of Truth and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the ground.

    50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. There was no sword in the hand of David.

    51 Then David ran and stood over the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. 52 And the men of Israel and Judah rose with a shout and pursued the Philistines as far as Gath[f] and the gates of Ekron, so that the wounded Philistines fell on the way from Shaaraim as far as Gath and Ekron.

    53 And the people of Israel came back from chasing the Philistines, and they plundered their camp. 54 And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in his tent.

    May it be so. Amen

        Yes! But this motivational speech could also be used as a fight plan for encouraging young masked punks to throw bricks, frozen bottles of water and molotov cocktails at people and property in hopes of toppling a political and economic behemoth backed by the US Army.
        Somebody in the Gladwell vein could easily say, ‘hey, you don’t fight the US Army, you destroy its economy by burning it down! Then watch the army disappear!’

    Fascinating interview of Carly Fiorina on CNBC with Wilfred Frost, on China and US business operating there. Wilf is of course a lefty, but he’s a British lefty which means that he hasn’t had a dilation and evacuation procedure performed on his brain from attending college in the US. Consequently he didn’t stick to the brain dead script and asked a few questions that Carly wasn’t prepared for.

    The gist of Carly’s offering was that :

    1) it was impossible for US businesses to make a profit in China, and if you did business in China your IP would be stolen
    2) Consequently the US government should adopt a long term plan to try to get China to stick to its commitments
    3) The Orange Man’s random sledgehammers against China interspersed with saying nice things about Xi wouldn’t do at all

    Wilf wondered if the Trumpian sledgehammers were such an obviously bad idea, since as Carly had pointed out, previous US government had done precisely squat. At least a Trumpian sledgehammer was something. Carly looked at Wilf as if he had just put his had up her skirt. She was unable to come up with a suggestion as to how a long term China discipline policy was to be adopted by the US, given that Trump is the first and pretty much only US politico who does not think highly of China.

    Wilf then put his hand up her skirt again by pointing out that she had dragged HP into China and if it had had its IP stolen, then it was kinda on her wasn’t it ? She didn’t like that at all. Everywhere else in the world you could do business, make a profit, hang on to your IP. But China was different. They cheated.

    Wilf – and your point is ? Weren’t you as CEO supposed to be evaluating risks ?

    Carly finished up by repeating that the US government really needed to get its act together, because China was a really important market, and individual businesses could not deal with China on their own, without US government help. But it was a really important market. Really important. Really really important. The notion that a place where you can’t make a profit and you get your IP stolen is not, perhaps, such a great market did not appear to have registered.

    In truth Wilf’s very mild queries which were never aggressive, nor aggressively followed up, should not have troubled any serious person But Carly was not up to it. And not only not up to it – it looked like Wilf’s obvious pushbacks had never even occurred to her. Not so much an evil RINO, as a clueless 65 year old teenager, entirely trapped within a hermetically sealed box made of received wisdom.

        I was attempting to convey the idea that she appeared to find his comment shocking and indecent – ie not “hmm, that’s a view I do not agree with” but “I am astonished and appalled that you could suggest such a thing.”

        Perhaps hands up skirts is a little old fashioned, and maybe sexist too since I can’t think of a comparable metaphor for that sort of reaction from a man. Guilty and contrite. But alas not very contrite.

    Psalm 64[a]

    For the director of music. A psalm of David.

    1 Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint;
    protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
    2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked,
    from the plots of evildoers.
    3 They sharpen their tongues like swords
    and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.
    4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent;
    they shoot suddenly, without fear.
    5 They encourage each other in evil plans,
    they talk about hiding their snares;
    they say, “Who will see it[b]?”
    6 They plot injustice and say,
    “We have devised a perfect plan!”
    Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
    7 But God will shoot them with his arrows;
    they will suddenly be struck down.
    8 He will turn their own tongues against them
    and bring them to ruin;
    all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
    9 All people will fear;
    they will proclaim the works of God
    and ponder what he has done.
    10 The righteous will rejoice in the Lord
    and take refuge in him;
    all the upright in heart will glory in him!

    Who Stands to Benefit? Group Behind Occupy Wall Street Plans 50-Day ‘White House Siege’

    BY STACEY LENNOX AUG 12, 2020 3:12 PM EST

    Adbusters, the group credited with energizing the Occupy Wall Street protests, is now pushing a 50-day siege on the White House beginning on September 17. This date is the same day the Occupy riots started in 2011. The group is an anti-consumerism magazine based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

    You might call Adbusters the marketing wing of the revolution. It would be naive to think the use of the words “siege” and “occupation” are unintentional. They did occupy Wall Street for nearly two months from Zuccotti Park in New York City’s financial district. Protests continued through the first anniversary and have recurred at least annually since.

    They have an activist wing, the Blackspot Collective. They claim they have 13,000 activists in their collective and are explicit in their desire to overturn liberal democracy. Liberal, in this case, refers to our foundational ideas—free speech, individual rights and freedoms, property rights, and objective reality—not left-wing politics.

    You would also have to be pretty wet behind the ears to assume some of the agitators in Lafayette Park recently were not their operatives. It is highly likely they used the Peaceful Protestors™ as cover to collect intelligence about how federal law enforcement operates and to develop plans.

    During the Occupy riots, NPR reported that Adbusters distanced themselves from the protests:

    I’m beginning to see who the architects are of the Mueller teams strategy. This person you will recognize. He is the husband of Samantha Powers. Pay particular attention to Conspiracy theories and Government.
    “Conspiracy Theories” and government infiltration Edit
    Sunstein co-authored a 2008 paper with Adrian Vermeule, titled “Conspiracy Theories,” dealing with the risks and possible government responses to conspiracy theories resulting from “cascades” of faulty information within groups that may ultimately lead to violence. In this article they wrote, “The existence of both domestic and foreign conspiracy theories, we suggest, is no trivial matter, posing real risks to the government’s antiterrorism policies, whatever the latter may be.” They go on to propose that, “the best response consists in cognitive infiltration of extremist groups”,[38] where they suggest, among other tactics, “Government agents (and their allies) might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action.”[38] They refer, several times, to groups that promote the view that the US Government was responsible or complicit in the September 11 attacks as “extremist groups.”

    The authors declare that there are five hypothetical responses a government can take toward conspiracy theories: “We can readily imagine a series of possible responses. (1) Government might ban conspiracy theorizing. (2) Government might impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories. (3) Government might itself engage in counterspeech, marshaling arguments to discredit conspiracy theories. (4) Government might formally hire credible private parties to engage in counterspeech. (5) Government might engage in informal communication with such parties, encouraging them to help.” However, the authors advocate that each “instrument has a distinctive set of potential effects, or costs and benefits, and each will have a place under imaginable conditions. However, our main policy idea is that government should engage in cognitive infiltration of the groups that produce conspiracy theories, which involves a mix of (3), (4) and (5).”

    Sunstein and Vermeule also analyze the practice of recruiting “nongovernmental officials”; they suggest that “government can supply these independent experts with information and perhaps prod them into action from behind the scenes,” further warning that “too close a connection will be self-defeating if it is exposed.”[38] Sunstein and Vermeule argue that the practice of enlisting non-government officials, “might ensure that credible independent experts offer the rebuttal, rather than government officials themselves. There is a tradeoff between credibility and control, however. The price of credibility is that government cannot be seen to control the independent experts.” This position has been criticized by some commentators[39][40] who argue that it would violate prohibitions on government propaganda aimed at domestic citizens.[41] Sunstein and Vermeule’s proposed infiltrations have also been met by sharply critical scholarly critiques.[42][43][44][45][46]

    He is also a Traveling Fellow at the Brookings Institute . Remember Brookings = Lawfare.

    Could Sunstein have been doing this in his wife’s name?
