I have a friend who is a realtor in Rancho Mirage and she just told me it’s wild – she’s getting calls from all over the country. People want out! It may be too hot there now but they’re coming anyway.
One thing about that area – it’s relatively safe and quiet.

I live in a 55 plus community in the La Quinta area not too far from Rancho Mirage. Escrow companies are getting hammered. Prices are staying relatively stable….for now.

Also, did a tour of just 2 blocks around my home. 15 Trump signs, 4 Biden signs and one ‘Anyone but Trump sign’.

      Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised.

Just when I thought Illinois couldn’t get any dumber

A school district in Illinois wants students to take remote learning seriously and has implemented a dress code for those sitting at home in front of their computers. The Springfield School District told parents that the student handbook has been updated with a new dress code that bans kids from wearing pajamas.

Not all parents were happy with the new dress code. Elizabeth Ballinger told WCIA she doesn’t think the school has the authority to tell her what her kids can wear inside her home.”

Actually, you will probably hate my comment, but it’s been proven many times over decades that how we dress does affect how well we work. Dressing less casually for most work increases performance and attention paid to the job. I spent years running businesses and how people dressed definitely affect performance.

This is a concept that was drilled into me in the military. “If you dress and look like soldiers, maybe you’ll start acting like soldiers!” Of course, that was the family-friendly version of that message. The original version was, uh, more direct, and included brief commentary on parentage and sexuality.

As adults, definitely. Even teens, to a degree. Kids… not so much.

Since the rapist killed his accuser, and the rapist/murderer was released from jail because of fears he couldn’t socially distance in jail and could therefore contract Covid, does this make the victim a Covid death? Because if it wasn’t for Covid, it could be argued he would not have been released and could not have killed her.

Would it surprise anyone if she’s listed as a Covid death somewhere?

Which was more important to the victim in the end……..socially distancing from the virus or socially distancing from her rapist/murderer?

Read the story, more details there than I’ve found elsewhere including his violence after release.

Put them back in jail and give them a mask. It will save the lives of the innocent.

States like New York have their own tax auditors who receive a copy of the federal tax return along with the New York State Tax Return because they both use the same numbers. Why can’t the state tax auditors examine the tax returns? Why, because they either already have examined them or they rely on the IRS who has already examined them. There’s no legitimate reason for anybody to obtain those returns especially when the IRS is satisfied that they are correct!

In Rare Rebuke, Top GOP Senators Accuse Schiff, Pelosi, Warner and Schumer of “Knowingly” Spreading Disinformation on Foreign Intel
    By Cristina Laila
    Published August 7, 2020

In a rare rebuke, Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) this week sent a letter to top Democrats accusing them of spreading disinformation on foreign intel.

The letter was sent to House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff, Speaker Pelosi, Vice Chair of the Senate Intel Panel Mark Warner and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Claiming that for the past four years they have “promoted and amplified the false narrative that the Trump campaign ‘colluded’ with Russia,” Johnson and Grassley wrote, claiming that the Democrats have “pushed this false narrative even though, behind closed doors, [they] repeatedly saw and heard evidence to the contrary.”

  16. Walt says:

I know most of the focus here has been on what happened at the federal level to bring us where we are today but I believe it’s what’s been done at the state level is the tail that’s wagging the dog.

The states have been using the state and county employees as hired political stooges for many years.
They know if they hire as many as they can, pay and benefit them many times what they could get in the private sector for their skill level, they have political loyalty for the duration.
We have a second grade teacher where I live that makes $145K, police and fire that retire on >$300K pensions, I have a relative who, with his wife (also a public employee) are retiring on >$600K with full taxpayer funded medical for life.
The leadership keeps them firmly on leash by reminding them firmly before each election what the consequences will be if “the other side” gets elected and how they all get fat raises if they keep the status quo.

I’ve read that Ca has about 150 Billion in unfunded pension benefits and to appear like they’re dealing with it, Sacramento has puttered about raising employee contributions but to negate any political fallout at the same time, they hand out salary raises that are even larger.
As the left likes to say “this is not sustainable”.
THEY KNOW that they are running out of taxpayer sources to keep the pyramid scheme going.
In Ca, state income taxes, property taxes, and sales taxes are close to the point where the people are going to start pushing back. Some might recall a Ca governor being recalled because he was arrogant enough to reinstate the large car registration tax.

If they lay off the public employees that have no function except to warm a chair and vote occasionally, reduce public retiree pensions and teacher/administrator/state/county/city employee salaries, they know that the hired loyalty will be gone, millions of votes (and billions in lobbyist money) will be lost and it will be the end of the democrat party.
They are dependent on a federal money bailout to continue the scheme and if they don’t regain power, now, they’re done. This is evidenced by the states already demanding virus bailout money to fund their pension liabilities.

Among the numerous lies told by Steele and his Deep State handlers (FBI, DOJ, Fusion GPS, most of the MSM etc.) is the whopper that “sources and methods” had to be protected or else lives would be in grave danger. In reality, ALL of Steele’s sources turn out to be insignificant turds unconnected to real intel or spyworld. There is no one in the list of Steele sources who could plausibly be any target for assassination because they are all such total non-players with no actual intel knowledge.
Their only value was as cardboard cutouts for Steele to use in pretending he had a network of real sources. He had no real sources. It was all b.s.

Most of my bikes have been Yamaha XS 650s. I rode a bike from Webster, FL to Lander, WY, 2.600 miles and Albuquerque, NM to Webster, Fl, 2.100 miles and a few trips between Lander and Albuquerque, 800 miles … all without a windshield or fairing. The only new motorcycle I ever owned was a KZ 440, which I put 33,000 miles on it in 3 years.

My favorite ride was a Kawasaki 454 LTD, billed as “half a Ninja.” That thing was sweet, and I swear it sang to me sometimes, when we were working out. The Yamaha was the biggest thing I ever had, so I didn’t go on any safaris; just riding around town and weekend trips to the country. When I was in Germany in the Army, one of my buddies had his Honda Gold Wing shipped over, and he got to drive his bike on the open Autobahn. I was so jealous!
