Comrade deBlasio Sets Up New York City Check-Point Charlie…

Well, visits into NYC have just become a bit more covert… LOL.  Apparently Comrade Mayor Bill deBlasio is intent on surrounding New York City with transportation checkpoints to capture subversive citizens from freedom states before they can spread free thought amid the heavily controlled populace.

NEW YORK – Out-of-state travelers could face up to $10,000 in fines if they break New York City’s two-week quarantine rule and checkpoints will be set up at entry points into the city, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday.

Currently, travelers from 35 high-risk infection states and Puerto Rico must quarantine for 14 days. Those flying into New York airports are also required to fill out a special travel form — or face a $2,000 fine.

The new crackdown includes random checkpoints at major bridge and tunnel crossings and up to $10,000 fines for those caught breaking quarantine. (read more)

In colonial times, they would be tarred, feathered, and strung up.

Yea let’s see how appealing NYC is to out of towners now and days. Lawless Wild West, Escape from NY daily atmosphere. Fines for walking on the street. Quarantine. And rampant fake virus and ramped up death rate. I’m sure the arts and rich culture will still lure millions of visitors per year. /s

Now De Blasio is begging his richest citizens that fled to come back to the city. Saying the city is nice now and they want them back. Reminds me of the story about how that high ranking Iraqi official managed to get out of Iraq before Sadam could have him killed. So they whoo’d the guy into coming back and promised he would be welcomed. And guess what, Sadam arrested, tortured and killed him almost immediately. Sure NY’ers go right ahead and head back to your lovely home. They don’t want to capture you, drain your bank account, and possibly leave you dead on the side of the road after accidentally driving up on a BLM protest. They promise!!!! Lol

Hey, it happened in Vt. practically before any of the other states, back in the 1960s.

The disease of communism came north straight from NYC — what was then called the “granola” crowd. They were attracted by the beautiful countryside cultivated by generations of Republican hardscrabble hilltop farmers.

Vt. voted 4 times against FDR. It was once the most Republican state of all — and as late as the late 1950s demonRATs were still rare here.

Check this out from the classic flim “White Christmas” (1954). When Danny Kaye (Phil Davis) and Bing Crosby (Bob Wallace) try to think of a way to pull in customers to a failing Pine Tree Inn in Vermont, they have this delightful conversation:
              • Phil Davis:  What do you suggest?
              • Bob Wallace:  I don’t know.
              • Phil Davis:  Something unusual, some kind of a novelty.
              • Bob Wallace:  Tell me, Brainstorm, what do you think would be the novelty up here in Vermont?
              • Phil Davis:  Maybe we can dig up a DEMOCRAT?
              • Bob Wallace “They’d stone him!”

For example, Howard “I Have a Scream” Dean comes from East Hampton, N.Y., on Long Island. Dean became a doctor but lived off his family’s money, made on Wall Street.

Sen. “Red Bernie” Sanders is from Brooklyn.

Similarly, the founders of the commie ice cream company, Ben & Jerry’s, are imports too.

Ben Cohen is from Brooklyn. Jerry Greenfield is from Merrick, N.Y., on Long Island.

What is it about Long Island that breeds commies?

Must be something in the water….

All at once wanting ‘green acres’ instead of Park Avenue. Vermont loved the expensive vacation home building and construction boom. Tax revenues galore. Leftists invading and poisoning the conservative communities. Communes sprouting everywhere. I saw it, lived it and left it in 1974.

        • Tuesday this week was primary election day. When my wife arrived at our polling place, she was told that she would have to vote with a provisional ballot because there was an “E” by her name, indicating she had requested an early ballot to vote by mail … WHICH NEITHER SHE NOR I HAD HAD EITHER REQUESTED OR RECEIVED.

My wife was then directed to another table, where a second poll worker handed her a provisional “FEDERAL” ballot that included ONLY the races for Senate and the House Representative for our district, rather than a provisional “REPUBLICAN” ballot.

I was not able to get to our polling place until just before closing time: When I started asking questions about my wife’s experience, the precinct supervisor overheard the conversation. Only then did he discover that the lady at the second table had been handing out those “FEDERAL” ballots all afternoon long, and she’d recorded pages and pages of names on a legal pad. She pleaded ignorance.

The morning after the election, there was a news item that the same “problem” had occurred at another polling location in town. And I’m left to wonder how many other “volunteers” at other precincts might have been doing the same thing, or worse.

When I checked, there was no “E” by my wife’s name on the master list, but an “E” had been marked next to her name in the list those voting in person signed.

It’s very easy to see how these sorts of deliberate shenanigans could make plenty of vote-by-mail early ballots “available” to otherwise ineligible voters.

Yeah right. Does wonders when you reduce the amount testing done to surveillance levels as well as start reporting rates vs surveillance test sample size. The reduction has zero to do with “heard immunity” or even countermeasures. Same goes with CA reporting. Of course the Wuhan switch will be reset to ON as election time draws near.

So not testing for coronavirus somehow stopped the deaths? Makes no sense. Sweden has also seen new cases and deaths slow to a crawl because they’ve hit herd immunity. Many people are proving to have innate immunity even without covid antibodies. Once seropositivity for antibodies hits ~ 20%, when coupled with people with effective T cell immunity, the virus stalls out. That’s starting to happen in AZ and TX, too. Florida soon.

Use you brain if you really are “sentient”. The left and media use positive test results as their metric. The fewer tests, the fewer positive results to report. Duh.. now continue chasing parked cars to straighten out your forehead.

That could account for reduced numbers of positive tests – aka cases – in NYC, but it wouldn’t account for covid deaths coming almost to a halt in NYC. Or Sweden. Or Belgium. We’re seeing a pattern where places that were hard hit initially have seen both new cases and numbers of deaths plummeting. That’s because the virus is running out of susceptible people to infect in those places. Even the most officially respected Trump-hating virologists like Mark Lipsitch at Yale are slowly but steadily ratcheting down the percentage of the population needed to be seropositive for covid antibodies in order to achieve “herd immunity”. What started out at 80% is now acknowledged to be perhaps only 40%, and if past patterns continue, will likely be about 20%.

    “We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey, teachers, leave them kids alone …”

I don’t care. If they want to be the American version of Cuba I say “Vaya con Dios”. Ops forgot there is no God in a Communist regime. .Americans should take back the Statute of Liberty before the anarchists push her in the drink. Put her in Mt. Rushmore, she can hang out with the guys.

So, you stop them when they enter, randomly, and require they quarantine for two weeks. And if they’re caught breaking that quarantine, they’re fined.

How many police would be required to enforce this in a city like New York? Are they branded on the forehead to help identify them as travelers? Maybe a big tattoo with their state abbreviation. Do officers randomly search hotel rooms to make sure no one is leaving to go to the ice machine, or take part in the continental breakfast? Is room service conducted in an air lock?

This is the dumbest thing ever. Besides killing any and all in-person business meetings in the city, tourism is done. Does this apply to foreign travelers, or are we okay with Chinese and Iranian visitors over those coming from middle America?

It’s unenforceable. A huge paper tiger. deBlasio’s an idiot. Though I’m sure that didn’t need to be said.

The Outerbridge Crossing, the Goethals Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge, all entrances into New York, are all cashless, the are no more toll booths. If you do not have EZPass you are mailed a bill according to your registration. The cars move at about 50mph.

Will we see high sped chases now?

This little scheme will do wonders for the commuter’s traffic flow. Perhaps he is trying to boost the ridership of mass transit.

As far as mass transit, has he added any more subway cars to allow for “social distancing”? How about removing every other seat as well?

Of course, if anyone is stopped, you do not have to answer any ones questions nor be forced to identify your self.

So as I mentioned a month ago, I went to NY from Florida on July 6. No issues going in. You must wear a mask EVERYWHERE. The only time I was able to NOT wear a mask was when I was gassing up my car. I left on Saturday, 8/1. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I think my work up there is finished. I now want to sell my house up there. My taxes are over $14,000 per year. SO the next time I go up there, it will be by plane. There is talk that many municipalities, Counties or cities are considering bankruptcy. Deblosio announced 22,000 layoffs if he doesn’t get a bailout. NY is a BIG mess.

The foolish and dangerous policies of many Democrat mayors like the ignoramus De Blasio and Dem Governors like “Care Home specialist” Cuomo should be setting up a Democrat bloodbath in the next round of elections across the country.

But like the Nashville voters that elected their 3rd Dem only mayor John the “Dictator” Cooper in just 3 years, the thought of voting for anyone but a Democrat is not a consideration for conceited, close minded progressives. They would have to admit how stupid and misguided they’ve been. Anti Trump New Yorkers believed driving the President out of the city (who really loved and cared about NY) would create a happy, progressive utopia.

But all their unrestrained hate and ignorance has done is create a path for a once great city to descend into a dystopia that only criminals will enjoy.
