COVID Madness – Comrade Newsom Shuts Down California Indoor Activities…

This is nuts. In an effort to fundamentally destroy the livelihoods of millions of California small businesses, Comrade Governor Gavin Newsom has declared that all indoor activities must shut down to top the spread of COVID-19.

The overwhelming majority of dictates around COVID-19 mitigation are not laws. There was no debate; no input from representative government; and no option for the public to weigh-in on the decisions.

CALIFORNIA – […] Newsom ordered houses of worship, gyms and barbershops to close across dozens of counties that collectively contain the vast majority of California’s population and most of its urban centers. Statewide, bars will need to again shutter and restaurants must halt indoor dining.

[…] In March, Newsom was the first governor in the nation to fully shut down his state, elevating California into a poster child for aggressive efforts to limit the pandemic’s spread. Public health officials credited the effort with staving off a surge that might have crippled the state’s health care system.

“We were able to suppress the spread of this virus, we were able to knock down the growth of this in the beginning,” Newsom said Monday as he issued new restrictions. “We’re going to do that again, there’s no doubt in my mind.”

Caseloads and hospitalization numbers have risen sharply in recent weeks as California authorized counties to restart various sectors of the economy. Hospitals in some parts of the state are staring down the prospect of running out of beds as the state’s seven-day average of new infections is approaches 9,000 daily, while its positive test rate has climbed above 7 percent after hovering near 4 percent during the initial reopening process.

The Democratic governor previously ordered especially stricken counties to bar indoor commerce like inside dining and museums, but his Monday order expanded that mandate to cover all 58 counties in California — a clear acknowledgment that the state must do more to control the rapid spread of the disease. (more)

In order to support the most important political objectives of the DNC writ large in the 2020 election, COVID-19 hype is essential:

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily achieve ‘mail-in’ voting; which they desperately need in key battleground states in order to control the outcome.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot shut down rallies and political campaigning efforts of President Trump; which they desperate need to do in key battleground states.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot block the campaign contrast between an energetic President Trump and a physically tenuous, mentally compromised, challenger.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have an excuse for cancelling the DNC convention in Milwaukee; thereby blocking Team Bernie Sanders from visible opposition while protecting candidate gibberish from himself.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have a mechanism to keep voters isolated from each-other; limiting communication and national debate adverse to their interests.  COVID-19 panic pushes the national conversation into the digital space where Big Tech controls every element of the conversation.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot keep their Blue state economies easily shut-down and continue to block U.S. economic growth.  All thriving economies are against the political interests of Democrats.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily keep club candidate Joe Biden sealed in the basement; where the electorate is not exposed to visible signs of his dementia.

♦Without COVID-19 panic it becomes more difficult for Big Tech to censor voices that would outline the fraud and scheme.  With COVID-19 panic they have a better method and an excuse.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot advance, influence, or organize their preferred presidential debate format, a ‘virtual presidential debate’ series.

[Comrade Gretchen Whitmer knows this plan, hence she cancelled the Michigan venue]

All of these, and more, strategic outcomes are based on the manufactured weaponization of the COVID-19 virus to achieve a larger political objective.  There is ZERO benefit to anyone other than Democrats for the overwhelming hype surrounding COVID-19.

It is not coincidental that all corporate media are all-in to facilitate the demanded fear that Democrats need in order to achieve their objectives.  Thus there is an alignment of all big government institutions and multinationals to support the same.

Nothing is coincidental. Everything is political.

          I’m in Utah but I think I can read the handwriting on the wall. The LDS churches still are not open, Governor Herbert is mulling the possibility of mandating masks statewide, all State managed businesses (which include liquor stores in Utah) have a mask requirement, the cases in Utah are spiking, and – last but not least – as goes California so goes the nation. My brother told me that many decades ago.

          As a result, and following up on a promise made recently here on CTH, I have today ordered Trump masks. A set of three. One says “Make America Great Again”, one says “Keep America Great”, and the third says “Trump 2020”. The first is red, the second is blue, and the third is red, white, and blue. I will be wearing my face covering with my “Keep America Great” hat. And, if masks are mandated in Utah, I will be changing my avatar.

          Kudos, Thankful. I’m right beside you. God Bless America. God Bless Us One And All.

The members of the body can vote to expel a member usually for a crime, but it rarely happens. Some have been “encouraged” to resign, but that too is rare.

      Okay cowboy, I am to the right of you, and even I know that singing, especially choral singing, is the single most effective way to transmit and receive the virus.

      All the deep inhalations and exhalations over the viral lesions in an infected person are the way this spreads. Go worship, say the prayers and rituals, but cut the damn singing for now. God does not want you to do stupid things. Singing around others is stupid right now. The singing will come back in due course.

      God takes care of those who take care of themselves.

          You don’t have to quarantine but you don’t have to lick toilet seats which is safer than singing indoors with a medium or large group of people.

If we tested and discovered that virtually EVERY SINGLE PERSON is using cars then it becomes obvious that the risk is understandably low. That is what I think.

For those who worship government as their god, which in the new America is a lot of people, when they lose faith in the government, they need some alternative. Newsom and the Democrats know this, and the Christian churches have been a particular focus of their enmity.

    More than facemasks, more than federal handouts, California needs Christian missionaries. Now is the time to start turning our culture around.

    “The superintendent for the Los Angeles Unified School District announced Monday that students will not return to the classroom when the fall semester begins next month because of the surge in coronavirus cases across the Southland.

    LAUSD Superintendent Austin Beutner said that the fall semester will begin Aug. 18. However, student learning will begin online only, with no students returning to in-person classes.”

    The announcement comes on the heels of this insanity:

    “The Los Angeles Teachers Union issued a research paper arguing schools in the district can’t reopen without certain policy provisions in place ranging from ******mandatory face masks to a “moratorium” on charter schools and the defunding of police******.

    With classes set to begin on Aug. 18, United Teachers Los Angeles, a union consisting of 35,000 members, outlined a series of demands that should be met before reopening.”

    So days after UTLA demanded 1) mandatory facemasks rules, 2) the elimination of its professional competition (apparently Wu-Flu has mutated and now prefers to attack charter school students) and 3) the diversion of police funds to other causes (such as public education, presumably) LA announces no school openings in the fall.

    But none of these demands are self-serving, not at all. UTLA just wants to protect the children. And eliminate its competition. And take money from the police. But this is not a shakedown. This is common sense public policy. Trust them.

      Politically California is owned and operated by the public sector unions. And teachers are one of the biggest. My conservative neighbor (who is a public school teacher) has been saying for a few weeks now that teachers’ unions would veto re-opening the schools.

        Same here in MA. The PSUs own the Democratic supermajority in the state legislature.

        The state has not announced plans for the school year. Complicating the issue for those who would keep schools closed is the fact the Massachusetts outbreak has undeniably crested and broken. All the major metrics have shown substantial and sustained drops (new cases have been averaging about 150 per day and about 20 deaths per day for nearly a month, and I have reason to suspect the real numbers are actually lower).

        However, many of the official indicators remain both nebulous and therefore “in progress.” I have no idea, for example, what “positive” “Healthcare System Readiness” and “Contact Tracing Capabilities” are supposed to look like or how those metrics are supposed to measured. I suspect they are intentionally vague categories in order to slow-walk the “phased reopening” and to carve out political gifts to organizations such as public sector unions, or to coerce other groups into falling into line.

        But as I said the problem for the shutdown crowd is the outbreak has all but ended here. People can see this in their everyday lives and the scare tactics are having diminishing returns.

        But now that California has taken the lead, I expect other states, including Mass, to follow suit, or at least try to.

      A leftist version of Islam would be irresistable, right now.
      Our young women are just so lost. A doctrine of subordination would appeal to so many.
      Women want husband and family. They want submission. Hate me, it’s true.

      The compactness, completeness of the Christian family unit remains a compelling message. Trying to substitute faith in government is pathetic.

      A time when dispensing with police is being seriously discussed is obviously a time of transition. The future will belong to those who seize it.

    If the nation-wide emergency is not lifted soon, this will have a domino effect like it did in March with each state shutting down, IMHO. POTUS Administration is trying to get the country back working again and the children back to school, but the Governors are hiding behind the national emergency to enforce perpetual unconstitutional lock downs in their states. When the national emergency is lifted, then the people will start pushing back hard because it will spotlight the Governors being dictators. Now, people are following like sheep because they think the Government says to do so. But I am afraid, until the national emergency is lifted, the states are going to shut down again and we go through the whole cycle again. The ultimate goal is November – vote by mail.

    Suppose I asked you 4 months ago what country I’m describing:

    (1) The Ruler claims the right to order all businesses to shut, except such as he in his regal discretion deems “essential”;

    (2) The Ruler claims the right to order all his subjects not to leave their homes, except for such errands and purposes as he in his regal discretion deems “essential”;

    (3) The Ruler claims he can order his subjects not to peaceably assemble in groups larger than X, and when in public to stand X feet apart, and to wear mandatory accoutrements such as “face coverings”;

    (4) There is no functioning Attorney General at any level who protects the citizens’ liberties;

    (5) There is no functioning ACLU or similar organization to step forward and demand immediate injunctions against such despotic abrogation of citizens’ liberties;

    (6) In any event, the Courts are absolutely useless, and do nothing — even when asked — to challenge the Rulers’ totalitarian edicts;

    (7) And, perhaps most distressingly of all, only a small percentage of your fellow citizens have any idea that the Ruler possesses NONE of the powers he is purporting to exercise.

    What country would you have thought I was describing?

    But here’s the difference. They are both self employed and getting money through PPP. My esthetician said that without the extra $600 she was getting the first time around, she’d only get $147/week. That stipend is running out the end of this month.

    Unless the proponents of the Recall Newsom Petition actually sport to get the program needed to Validate signatures and catch duplicates it will NEVER make it! I have petitioned on the side for over 10 yrs.I am also working this initiative and ask these questions in hopes maybe….When is the last time you signed a petition? Have you moved even if right next door, gotten married or changed your name since the last time you voted?If they say yes I then have them fill out a voter registration card….record the #s on the side of their signature proving they are now registered and make a copy of VR card to send in with petition and mail off the original. THIS is what is necessary to achieve a ballot measure. Unfortunately the majority of individuals gathering these signatures are NOT doing this as well as not having the proper tools needed to validate prior to sending in to be counted.

    Remote communications for the purposes of case investigation and contact tracing should be prioritized; in-person communication may be considered only after remote options have been exhausted.

      Good catch WSB. This whole Contact Tracing program seems like a boondoggle. There are a lot of books on Contact Tracing, many filled with mathematical hieroglyphics and highly technical.

      The CDC guidelines listed are very rigid and don’t offer much justification for what they are doing. An effective Contact Tracing program depends on many variables being just right, aka the Goldilocks Principle resources, timing of the outbreak, overall prevalence, virulence, speed of transmission, incubation period, etc. etc.

      Here’s a scientific article that asserts that mathematically, influenza, which is much less infectious than Covid-19, isn’t a good candidate for Contact Tracing.:

      “…we explain why contact tracing was and will be effective for control of smallpox and SARS, only partially effective for foot-and-mouth disease, and likely not effective for influenza;”

      “The Effectiveness of Contact Tracing in Emerging Epidemics”
      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1762362/

      Contact Tracing is most helpful at the beginning of an epidemic where the index cases can be rapidly identified and isolated. In a long-established pandemic with high infectiousness and prevalence, it becomes, well, Silly.,.. Like a one-armed wallpaper hanger

        Contact tracing should have been done out of the Wuhan Lab, not from Sarasota to LA!

        With the way this reads, there would be six to seventeen additional probable/possible cases for every one illness.

        No wonder the CDC was able to fake a second spike. Fauci knew there would be back at the beginning.
