Why Did The DOJ Declassify and Release the FISA Application on July 21, 2018?….

On July 21, 2018, amid the apex of all things Trump-Russia being carefully narrated by the special counsel team, why did the DOJ release the Top Secret Classified Intelligence document known as the Carter Page FISA application?

At the time it happened everyone was so consumed with the content of the release, almost no-one stopped to ask that question.  Except, well, me.

Put yourself back into that 2018 time-frame: the Trump-Russia collusion hoax was being pushed hard; the Nunes memo -vs- the Schiff memo was being argued and the media was writing furiously about leaks from anonymous sources “with knowledge of the investigation” etc.  Congress was being blocked from all their document requests and their bucket lists for declassification.  Rod Rosenstein was refusing to testify to the House Intel Committee led by Devin Nunes.  The DOJ was blocking documents related to surveillance of President Trump.  The media was saying there was no surveillance of Trump.  Congress was desperate to break the stonewalling and asked President Trump to declassify a list of documents they provided.  Rod Rosenstein threatened Trump that if he declassified documents it would be adding to a potential obstruction investigation and claim. Etc. Etc.

Hell, despite his recusal from these matters, AG Sessions was getting major heat over the blockage from DOJ… the battle was intense.  Sessions announced an Illinois USAO John Laush to try and mediate the issues.  Laush was a major fail.

Then, amid all of that stonewalling, blocking, redacting of documents, failure to unredact, and refusal to declassify…. suddenly, all of a sudden, presto, here’s the most top secret classified document release ever.

To fulfill a FOIA request by Judicial Watch and the New York Times.

A FOIA request?

Seriously?

Considering all of the documents that would have been the easiest NOT to release because it is a top secret classified intelligence product; and considering the denial of that FOIA request would have easily withstood all judicial challenge because of the nature of its content; all of a sudden… hey, here you go. Here it is.

It just never made sense.

I have finally found the answer to that question; and while I must hold back on some details, we are at a point where you too should know.

First, an admission that I was wrong.

I always thought Robert Mueller was a false front, a semi-cogent face for a team of 17 lawyers that moved-in to take over Main Justice.  I was not wrong about Mueller, he was exactly that: a hand selected name to give credibility to a team assembly, and a man who would acquiesce to the smart, familiar and legal minds that were really running the resistance operation.

Where I was wrong, was thinking Rosenstein was a countermeasure to those who took control over Main Justice.

He was not.

Rod Rosenstein was doing exactly the same as Mueller, acquiescing to every request, instruction and demand by the seventeen legal squatters who took over Main Justice.

As Rod Rosenstein recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he never once questioned the special counsel about any request, demand or instruction; and he never once challenged their motives for the requests they made.

As Deputy AG, and with AG Sessions recused, Rod Rosenstein should have been on top of the special counsel; but he wasn’t.  He intentionally wasn’t.

The entire time the special counsel was operating, seventeen assembled members of the Trump resistance, were running the show inside the U.S. Department of Justice.  They controlled everything.

AG Jeff Sessions was fire-walled; he saw nothing, and he had no input into anything.  That was the first step in the resistance operation.

The second step was to instruct Rosenstein that every request made by the team was part of their investigation; regardless of how it might seem disconnected, it was all part of their investigative process.  That’s how they steamrolled Rosenstein into sitting in a corner and waiting for documents to sign; authorities to grant (scope memos etc.); indictments to approve; and requests to be fulfilled.

Seventeen members of the special counsel were running Main Justice.  Seventeen members of the resistance, with input guidance and assistance from Lawfare, were running Main Justice.  That’s the paradigm shift needed to baseline everything.

When the FISA application was released in July 2018, it was released by the special counsel team.  Technically Rosenstein released it; however, unofficially it was released by the demand of the resistance operators under the auspices that it was part of their investigative technique; part of the ongoing operation.

Except that wasn’t the real motive.

The real motive for releasing the FISA application, under the auspices of granting a FOIA request, was because the resistance already knew the New York Times had obtained it illegally.

In fact The New York Times had the FISA application since March 17, 2017, when SSCI Security Director James Wolfe, operating under instructions from SSCI resistance coordinator, Mark Warner, took pictures of each page of the FISA application and sent them to journalist Ali Watkins at Buzzfeed.

Ms. Watkins then shared the FISA with fellow resistance allies at the Washington Post and New York Times.   To cover her tracks Ms. Watkins did not immediately write about the FISA application, and I suspect the editors at Buzzfeed may not have known.

In exchange for her pre-planned role, The New York Times then hired Watkins; and, under the legal tutelage of the NYT, Watkins based her reporting on the Trump-Russia narrative from there.

However, in March 2017 what Watkins, Wolfe, media and Mark Warner did not immediately know, was that the FBI was conducting a leak investigation; a genuine leak investigation, and the SSCI was suspected.

The FISA application picked up by James Wolfe and delivered to the SSCI contained a leak tracer, a trap.  When the tracer showed up in media reports, the FBI knew where it leaked from – the SSCI.

[Note the FBI interception dates – The Wolfe leak was March 17, 2017]

Unfortunately, what the FBI did not know – was that SSCI Vice Chairman Mark Warner was the inside resistance operative giving Wolfe the instructions on how to proceed.

In May 2017, the FBI informed Vice-Chair Warner and Chairman Richard Burr that someone in the SSCI leaked the FISA application.   In essence FBI investigators just told the culprit they were investigating a leak he created.  Think about the ramifications.

As part of the overall investigation to locate the specific leaker, all of the SSCI was subject to review and quiet investigation.  As the FBI worked through a process of elimination, that’s when the FBI discovered the Mark Warner text messages to Adam Waldman, the lawyer for Chris Steele.   Not coincidentally the Warner text messages end in May 2017; exactly when he was first notified by the FBI about the specifics of the leak hunt.

What also started in May 2017?…..  The special counsel.

One important aspect to the coordinated demand and incessant drumbeat by the media for a special counsel, was a need to control the outcome of the FBI leak investigation.

Total control.  This was all connected.

The resistance took over Main Justice with the appointment of the special counsel; and one of their priorities was to stop anyone from: (a) finding out the FISA application had leaked; (b) block anyone from finding out how it was leaked; (c) block any independent FBI activity surrounding the leak.

Remember, in this period of 2017 the media side of the resistance operation were denying Trump was under any surveillance.  They were denying anyone in/around the Trump campaign was under surveillance.  However, they were also reporting on the investigation of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative from the investigative perspective, while using and exploiting the information they had in the March 17th leak of the FISA.

March 17th was less than two months after President Trump was inaugurated.   The FISA was leaked even before it was renewed in April (Boente/Comey), and renewed again by the instructions of the special counsel team on June 29th.

When the New York Times sent a FOIA for the FISA application, they did so as a necessary legal cover because they already illegally possessed it.  [Keep in mind, the copy they had was not redacted at all.]

When the Trump-Russia narrative was at it’s apex in July 2018; and with a need to deploy all weapons against the upcoming mid-term election; and when the resistance group  needed to provide legal cover for the New York Times; the FISA application was released by the resistance unit running Main Justice.

It was released as cover for the New York Times (and others) who were already reporting on it; and it allowed the NYT, and others, to fully weaponize the fictitious aspect of the narrative about the FBI genuinely being concerned about Trump colluding with Russia.

The July 2018 release itself was not a clean copy of the FISA application; but rather the DOJ team re-released the March 17, 2017, release and then added the final two renewals to the total release.  In 2018 the DOJ resistance group had to re-release the portion of the FISA application that was previously leaked in March 2017 (or else any reporting containing the leak tracer would not be covered/justified).

So who do you think released the Mark Warner text messages for the same purpose?

BINGO.  Yup, the same resistance group.   It was all an effort to cloud, cover and control.

Key takeaway.  The seventeen members of the special counsel were intentionally brought into Main Justice to organize the resistance.   The DOJ was running the resistance operation.  AG Jeff Sessions was fire-walled and clueless; and DAG Rosenstein was just approving anything put in front of him because it was sold as part of the investigative process.

Regardless of the FBI investigation, the DOJ resistance operation held ultimate control.

Some in the FBI were not happy… not happy at all…. but not in a position to do anything about Main Justice patting them on the head and telling them to run along now.

Oh, there’s so much more…. this is just an appetizer.

The SSCI

The Gang of Eight

The DOJ

The ICIG

Why did Warner/Burr, the SSCI and the DOJ resistance need ICIG Michael Atkinson?

…..Control, in the event a whistle-blower tried poking his head up.

Wow. In helping to provide credibility to the Mueller team, NBC did them no favors by highlighting their past deeds that they likely also performed as deep State minions. As someone who merely watches this drama play out from the peanut gallery, even I can see that they are trapped with no way out. The big players won’t go down, ain’t happening. These are the sanctioned sacrificial lambs. They are the pawns in the world of cross/double cross/triple-cross.

I suppose the goal is to get Biden in and it will all go away. That is not a very good strategy for these folks. Despite breathless editorials of how great Biden is doing and how Trump is stumbling, it is akin to saying that Colin Kaepernick can win the super bowl. You are going to need more than a few crooked referees In each and every game. Media hype can only do so much.

No, these are the individuals to be fed to the lions to placate the crowd. I actually feel sorry for them even though they committed the crimes and earned their fate. I feel sorry for them for being led down the rose colored path by those who had them do their bidding. Crime pays and is all fun, until it is not.

Believe me, while we’ve been out working and trying to build a better life, these demons have been infiltrating the body politic, stuffing their comrade’s into important positions (Police Chief, Heath Minister, Education Secretary, Fire Chief, DA’s, and Judges, therefore allowing all of this anarchy to go unmitigated once it erupts. The only way this ends is with extreme violence. These plotters will never give up or give in. They are fueled by blind hatred and utter contempt of the American way of life, religion, work ethic, and capitalism. You might as well try to reason with a Terminator sent for YOU, good luck. I don’t doubt the existence of a virus epidemic but I do doubt almost all that we’ve been told and how we’re supposed to fight it and what we should be doing to keep the country from going bankrupt.

I wonder, not knowing specifics about Sessions, if he might not reenter DC as a vengeful bulldog, knowing that the only way to right his family’s name–or repair his image in history–is to relentlessly go after the resistance who used his genteel but peacetime ethics against him.

He took the AG position as one of the few remaining in Washington who recalled and cherished when national business was conducted as southern gentlemen. He might just return as Stonewall Jackson.

But I don’t know anyone in Alabama or DC who is close enough to the real Sessions to know if he has an uncompromising ideological core… whether he is motivated by vain pride or by obligation-to-history or God.

I’ll contend that you can’t judge anyone’s actions without also knowing his or her motives.

For example, my friend’s teenage son just bought a hot performance car, is repairing some body damage on it, and upgrading the wheels. Looking at his actions you might conclude he’s a typical, superficial teenager, spending his money on thrills, or thinking he can project a cool image by the car he drives.

But in fact, he bought it to fix it, flip it, and then give the money to an elderly tornado victim he knows of.

No. Very seldom can we know anyone by their actions unless we also understand their motives.

The spirit of lawlessness is running strong in this country, threatening to tear apart the very moral fabric of who we are and how we conduct our self in a civil society. I can not be 100% on this, but President Trump had one of the BEST TV shows on Earth, and viewers have a very short memory. if you watched the show (original is my favorite), you would gain a lot of understanding of how PT works.

September 5th would be sixty days before the next election. This is when the DOJ would shut down any investigation that could have impact on an election cycle.

The glaring aspect, though, is that non-action has the same impact. Just hurts the other campaigner.

If President Trump wins this fight, indictments will be before September 5th. This would tie into PT’s understanding of short memory and Barr actually being forthright.

AG Barr was brought in to make a deal between the Deep State and it’s known actors and Trump.

The deal is probably something like this: they don’t lose their pensions and they don’t go to jail and they leave. Trump gets exonerated publicly and the public gets shown the evidence that also points to the deep staters.

Barr has been in on these sort of deals before. Notable the FBI sniper at Ruby Ridge. Barr is a deep stater of sorts himself.

If Trump wins Barr will continue this process and few will even be indicted. If Trump loses, Barr gets replaced and it all gets stopped cold. Unless it’s a Republican they can charge.

I am sorry that both of them had to go through that experience, I don’t like anyone being hurt like that, I just don’t like it being a heart string pull for a vote.

Anyway, around here he is fairly popular and I plan on doing what I can to help him win. My hope is that the Congressional candidate and Gade will team up and VA go full hog to win. I know the RPV won’t be a help, but hopefully the citizens can get it done.

Also go to Mark Warner’s facebook page and every time he lies about Trump, comment under his post and state the facts! He has a big following, many people will see your comments!

This is what I’ve been doing and I don’t even live in Virginia!! But Warner has done so much damage to the prez and our country, I just want him OUT of there! How about you?

President Trump’s obstructions of justice were broader than those of Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton, and the special counsel’s investigation proved it. How come the report didn’t say so?

If the Carter Page FISA application hadn’t been leaked and FOIAed, since Carter Page wasn’t charged with any crimes, I assume he would have continued providing information and assistance to the CIA & the FBI/DOJ without ever knowing how he had been used and how his privacy had been violated.

Now that everyone knows about the FISA warrants, his business dealings in Russian must have changed. Hard to believe that Russian officials would want anything to do with him after he related in interviews that he had been passing on information to the CIA for almost 20 years. I doubt he’s inclined to continue to be an asset after being abused so.

Note that in this whole mess, the pattern is the accomplices to the coup are never charged with any crimes. There is still a faction that believes Carter Page *knew* why he was inserted into the Trump staff.

Page is a Wall Street energy fund manager, a 2008 McCain presidential run staffer, who engaged the Trump campaign through New York State Republican Party chairman Ed F Cox. Page spied on a Russian energy company for the FBI, and was probably being paid by the FBI to recon the Trump admin. It is possible that Page was spying, while he was also being spied upon.

I would suggest that it was not a leak trace that was put into the leaked copy but rather an intentional obfuscation. If it was a leak trace then who put it there? I find it much more likely given the information we currently have that the very same bad guys who leaked and covered up the leak would have changed information in the FISA for their own nefarious purposes.

If it is what I think it is then I think it was changed to protect the FBI from having to answer for Cohen to Prague exculpatory information being available prior to the first FISA submission.

    Like

    • fabrabbit says:

The leak trace, IIRC was a date. But I cannot rightly recall if Sundance guessed who did it. It might have been someone in Rosemary Collyer’s office as I assume the copy was sent from there.

      Liked by 1 person

      • Hmmm... says:

The FISA that was sent to the Senate would have come from DOJ. The court would have had their own copy. Sundance speculated at the time that Nunes caught Rosenstein by going to Colyer to confirm details of the FISA. It was public knowledge that he approached Colyer and the actual date of the first FISA came out in Feb (I think) 2018 when Grassley included it in a letter. This was shortly after Colyer responded to Nunes.

IMO the blowup meeting between Rosenstein and Nunes in Jan 2018 (the one where Rosenstein threatened Patel) was likely due to the revelation that the DOJ had been lying about the date for almost a year.

Suddenly Cohen to Prague becomes an issue and literally the next day after that meeting the WSJ runs the first ominous story about Cohen. Cohen was completely on the sidelines and not being targeted by Mueller or the DOJ until 2018. All that changed the day after that meeting.

Why did Cohen become a target again? Because the date change was from October 19 to October 21. The Cohen to Prague information was in a Steele memo dated October 20. That IMO was the motivation for the bad guys to change the date and leak it.

Remember that the Fusion GPS allied reporters continued to float Cohen to Prague confirmations in early 2018. Personally I suspect Cohen was seriously messing with them and they thought he was going to “confess”. I think Cohen will end up not being the person everyone thinks he is.

IMHO Warner was part of the gang of 8. The resistance.. the leaking of the FISA to the NYT was to bolster the PDT Russia narrative. The coup attemp was blessed by Republican and Democrats. PDT was an outsider he never should have won.

Remember all of these politicians write legislation. They make millions of dollars from inside trading on the stock market. If PDT drained the swamp their ‘extra’ cash flow would dry up… remember congressmen come in and make 200,000 per year. Cost of living in DC.. high…

It’s so easy to get corrupted when a little extra cash helps so much. Help Mitch and get appointed to lucrative congressional committees…. junkets, etc.. set up a non profit to solicit campaign contributions from globalist corporations. After all in Washington DC everything and almost everone is for sale.. only question is how much… Vote with Mitch …. take a dive for Mitch.. you will be rewarded with re-election campaign money from the RNC… go against Mitch and get primaried.. primaried.. where Mitch gives millions of dollars to political RINO in a primary race to get rid of a MAGA Republican ..

In 2017 PDT said he wanted congressional term limits…. Mich said.. ‘that is never going to happen’. So who is really running congress?

But at the end of day, if James Wolfe is the shovel to hit people over head that career civil servants DID NOT just wake up one day and proceed half cock into resistance land, but sought out the political cover that was to blow up as the Russia Collusion narrative.

Well, you are barking up a major snooze fest.

In all honesty, the sex appeal needs to be more instantly dirtier in the grabber department, if it is to be Carnegie effective.
I say that seeing you’re determined to go over the wire. But truth be told, if there are major revelations within and as you have said gamed it out, backward and forwards.
Then have you gamed out, the old umh hum reponce of glassed over eyes, the big nothing burger play of the MSM. A MSM that can specifically define the issues of the day and manufacture them if needed.

In other words, until some doors are kicked down and a big brew hah is made leaving a mess the usual suspects in media have to deal with, wink wink nod nod ‘honestly’.
That is why in my book, any effective butter knife patrol over the wire needs to bag a big kill right from the get go.

I only say this because charging over the wire does require getting your ducks in row. I am encouraged with your choice of the claymore closing photo pic that you have ready successfully returned with bigger stuff.
