The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China centric. We will be giving that a good look. Fortunately I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on. Why did they give us such a faulty recommendation?

    ***
Wasn’t that also part of the “recommendations” from the Event 201 back in October – that countries ought not shut their borders when this pandemic starts?

this is from the Event 201 website (videos, photos, info from the “Event”) – they also had an informative list of the panel participatns – for example, here is the info re George Gao:

      Event 201 Players
      George Fu Gao
      George Fu Gao

Professor George F. Gao is the Director-General, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention; a Professor in the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; President of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology; and President of the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB).

Dr. Gao obtained his DPhil degree from Oxford University, UK, and did his postdoc work in both Oxford University and Harvard University, with a brief stay in Calgary University. His research interests include enveloped viruses and molecular immunology. His group research is mainly focused on the enveloped virus entry and release, especially influenza virus interspecies transmission (host jump), structure-based drug-design, and structural immunology. He is also interested in virus ecology, especially the relationship between influenza virus and migratory birds or live poultry markets and the bat-derived virus ecology and molecular biology.

Dr. Gao has published more than 450 refereed papers and 10 books or book chapters, and he has applied for and obtained more than 25 UK, US, and Chinese patents. His research has recently expanded to public health policy and global health strategy. He led the China CDC team from September to November 2014 to work in Sierra Leone in the fight against Ebola.

Dr. Gao is a member (academician) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences (also known as the World Academy of Sciences), a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, and an associate member of EMBO. He is a recipient of several national and international awards, including the TWAS Medical Prize (2012), the Nikkei Asian Prize (2014), and the HLHL S&T Advancement Award (2015).

this is from the pdf provided of the list of recommendations from the Event 201 panelists

Countries, international organizations, and global transportation companies should work
together to maintain travel and trade during severe pandemics.

Travel and trade are essential to the global economy as well as to national and even local economies, and they should be maintained even in the face of a pandemic. Improved decision-making, coordination, and communications between the public and private sectors, relating to risk, travel advisories, import/export restrictions, and border measures will be needed.

The fear and uncertainty experienced during past outbreaks, even those limited to a national or regional level, have sometimes led to unjustified border measures, the closure of customer-facing businesses, import bans, and the cancellation of airline flights and international shipping.

A particularly fast-moving and lethal pandemic could therefore result in political decisions to slow or stop movement of people and goods, potentially harming economies already vulnerable in the face of an outbreak.

Ministries of Health and other government agencies should work together now with international airlines and global shipping companies to develop realistic response scenarios and start a contingency planning process with the goal of mitigating economic damage by maintaining key travel and trade routes during a large-scale pandemic.

Supporting continued trade and travel in such an extreme circumstance may require the provision of enhanced disease control measures and personal protective equipment for transportation workers, government subsidies to support critical trade routes, and potentially liability protection in certain cases.

International organizations including WHO, the International Air Transport Association, and the International Civil Aviation Organization should be partners in these preparedness and response efforts.

“Event 201” presenters used the term “hotwash” in discussing the conclusions developed from their event –

I was telling my mom about it – that they used this term “hot wash” and she thought I was saying “hogwash” – but looking it up in wikipedia, it’s been in use for a while, originated purportedly from the military, quickly washing weapons with hot water then later used as part of the “After Action” terminology used (eg., Hurricane Katrina)

          it is now a “buzzword”

It just annoys me as a tip-off that there are nerds in action like Bill Gates with his hands waving and weaving around as he speaks (not meaning to speak disparagingly against nice nerds but there is something about Bill Gates that just really annoys me and maybe nerd is not the right word)

          “hotwash” from Wikipedia:

A hotwash is the immediate “after-action” discussions and evaluations of an agency’s (or multiple agencies’) performance following an exercise, training session, or major event, such as Hurricane Katrina.[1]

The main purpose of a hotwash session is to identify strengths and weaknesses of the response to a given event, which then leads to another governmental phase known as “lessons learned,” which is intended to guide future response direction in order to avoid repeating errors made in the past. A hotwash normally includes all the parties that participated in the exercise or response activities. These events are used to create the After Action Review.

Hotwash is a term picked up in recent years by the Emergency Preparedness Community, likely as a result of Homeland Security and other government agencies’ involvement in disaster planning. It serves as a form of after-disaster briefing for all parties involved to analyze what worked well, what needs improvement, what person or agency needs to be responsible for said improvements, and the assignments and timelines for the noted corrective and proactive improvements to be in place.[2]

The vast majority of states aren’t reporting the actual hospital utilization data elements with respect to inpatient census (ICU and otherwise) or ventilator patients. Only those state that were reporting it were included in the total. The demand for ICU beds/ventilators is much greater than what was reflected in the incomplete actual data being presented even though the forecast shortages may still be overblown.

“All those we have examined so far had cancer, a chronic lung disease, were heavy smokers or severely obese, suffered from diabetes or had a cardiovascular disease.”

He pleads for statistics based on concrete examination results. “All speculations about individual deaths that have not been expertly examined only fuel anxiety.“

Contrary to the guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute, Hamburg had recently started to differentiate between deaths “WITH THE“ and “BY THE“ coronavirus, which led to a decrease in Covid19 deaths.

      libertymavenstock. Apr 5 ·

“In the last 3–5 days, a mountain of anecdotal evidence has come out of NYC, Italy, Spain, etc. about COVID-19 and characteristics of patients who get seriously ill. It’s not only piling up but now leading to a general field-level consensus backed up by a few previously little-known studies that we’ve had it all wrong the whole time.
There is no ‘pneumonia’ nor ARDS. At least not the ARDS with established treatment protocols and procedures we’re familiar with. Ventilators are not only the wrong solution, but high pressure intubation can actually wind up causing more damage than without”
The past 48 hours or so have seen a huge revelation: COVID-19 causes prolonged and progressive hypoxia (starving your body of oxygen) by binding to the heme groups in hemoglobin in your red blood cells. People are simply desaturating (losing o2 in their blood), and that’s what eventually leads to organ failures that kill them, not any form of ARDS or pneumonia. All the damage to the lungs you see in CT scans are from the release of oxidative iron from the hemes, this overwhelms the natural defenses against pulmonary oxidative stress … … …… Patients returning for re-hospitalization days or weeks after recovery suffering from apparent delayed post-hypoxic leukoencephalopathy strengthen the notion COVID-19 patients are suffering from hypoxia despite no signs of respiratory ‘tire out’ or fatigue.
Here’s the breakdown of the whole process, including some ELI5-level cliff notes. Much has been simplified just to keep it digestible and layman-friendly.

Excellent deep dive, sedge2z, on how COVID-19 kills and how HCQ works to stifle it. Just excellent. Understand your enemy, then defeating it becomes soooo much easier. I feel so much more confident now about the pathway forward!

This article also illustrates to me, once more, the different roles of different aspects of medicine and science, and the different personalities attracted to the different aspects. Here specifically you illustrate the heroic problem solver integrating the many complex symptomatic clues with the entire (but imperfect) body of knowledge about how the body works and how different medicines interact to achieve that epiphany of insight that results in a treatment protocol that promises to vastly improve outcomes.

By contrast, Fauci and many statisticians , “Data Snobs,” I call them, treat all those insights as unsupported leaps of faith, that cannot be trusted as “real” scientific knowledge until each component can be isolated and tested under controlled circumstances that eliminate the possibility of ambiguity about the results. You may remember the 1973 movie, the Awakenings, in which Robin Williams played a nerdy scientist based on Oliver Sacks’ discovery of the effect of L-Dopa on catatonic survivors of an encephalitis lethargica, and manages to illustrate both roles. Williams’ character makes the brilliant clinical insight, bringing a whole group of patients back to life from a catatonic existence, but there’s also a scene describing his previous work to a new scientific acquaintance. Something to the effect: “I researched the use of a particular worm in clinical research for human medicine,” to which the other reacted, “but that worm isn’t useful for such research.” “I PROVED that that worm was not useful,” came the proudly definitive reply.

    • I don’t know if Gates own the patent (yet). But for the sake of the naysayers out there – yes, viruses can be patented if they’ve been modified by humans. You can’t patent a disease, like cancer, but you can patent the genetic code of modified viruses and organisms. PLEASE NOTE: This is an article from 2013 and when it refers to “novel coronavirus,” it’s referring to MERS, not the current virus in circulation.

Nor is there any $, to finance the research, to conduct the tests to show iys efficacy.

After all, even the manufacturers of it can not justify raising the price, under the current pricing system.

It costs abou $0.04/pill, worldwide average price. Been around long enough for the Patents to have expired.

If they suddenly raise the price to say,…$10/ pill, they are “profiteering” of others misery.

So, why spend $5-10 million or more, to conduct detailed, double blind random controlled studies (like Fauci wants) in order to ‘prove’ its efficacy?

I’ve been screaming that we need antibody testing. Well my county in PA is doing it. Read the article from the local paper linked below for the released story. Below that are my comments.

Highlights: “new antibody testing of health care workers, first responders and others on the front line in the fight against the COVID-19 crisis. Chester County is the first in the state to undertake this type of test.”

“We have just received a shipment of 10,000 blood test kits and are expecting a second shipment of 10,000 more next week,”

    https://www.dailylocal.com/news/coronavirus/chester-county-to-test-workers-on-front-line-fight-against-covid-19/article_7e4502bc-7846-11ea-a051-e31bb792471d.html

PA had early cases identified in the counties outside of Philly. There was early shutting of schools, first for cleaning, and then for an early closing for Spring break. Philly and the three surrounding counties (Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery) have roughly half of the tested cases in PA. As of Monday 4/6/20, that is 6,282 positive cases and 78 deaths.

Chester County is just to the west of these known highly infected areas. We have 307 positive, and 2,238 testing negative. There are over 30 people over 70 that have tested positive in Chester County, but only 3 total deaths. It has a good, well respected Health Department–it’s actually stepped in to help Delaware County, because they don’t have one. This area is served by mainly volunteer fire companies, so the volume of people from there will be pretty high. Chester County, politically has been mainly Republican, with a shift in the Obama years as more people move here, to be more left leaning.

I expect that the roll out of this testing will be done well, and not be held up for any political reasons. The shear volume of tests means that there likely will be a wide spectrum of people tested without shenanigans because there are enough for everyone. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started in the eastern part of the county, because that is were there are more confirmed cases.

Russia Collusion, Fake Dossier, Impeachment IMO was a coup attempt on the President and his administration but now IF this crisis was planned or leveraged to harm PT by taking down the economy and jobs, thus effecting millions of Americans then IMO this has moved from a coup to an act of terror.

Yes. Soros is a bad news. We know that.

The American author gaslights her readers. How?
She avoids mentioning any connections between Soros and China.

    In 2016,
George Soros laid out the global elites’ plan for ushering in what he called “a New World Order” during an interview with the Financial Times. According to Soros, China must lead this New World Order, “creating it and owning it,” in the same way the United States “owns the current order.”

Soros pretended not to know that China was part of the ‘New World Order’ for years.

The American author of the RT op-ed touches China only once, in an innocuous context of “quarantining” shipments of cash.

The author talks about privacy getting lost, and never mentions China or Russia.

Usually when you get a particular virus you acquire a “titer” or immunity to it. The trouble is that virii mutate constantly. This is why “flu shots” often do not work.

Coronaviruses are usually just “cold viruses” but we all know how virulent (“achoo!”) they can be. I agree that it is highly unlikely that a vaccine for COVID-19 will actually prove useful. But, it sure will be interesting to find out if quinine compounds could serve as a prophylactic treatment for other viruses!

It’s been a long three years when I think of all the coup exploits. During those years, I was frustrated as to why President Trump (PT) didn’t fire or have fired [ fill in the blank] earlier. I remember often hearing some offering ideas/explanations why; PT not wanting to be accused of ‘obstruction of justice’. That hammer made sense, but heck, I’m not a lawyer.

Since I can’t get the coup part out of my head I offer and ask:

The distrust of Fauci is seen in many places, and I’m pretty sure PT knows about it. Maybe PT trusts him. If PT doesn’t trust him, could he for some reason be keeping Fauci on board for reasons similar, e.g. ‘obstructing the health of the public’? (I know, Ms. Impeachment Nancy will do what she will do anyway.)
If there is no trust in Fauci and his method, is President Trump keeping him on board to lessen the resistance once he starts to encourage states to open up again?

I look for trends in human behavior…I could be cross-eyed too.

Then why the congratulatory response to the guy who invited the chinese propagandist to the press briefing?

I ask because Fauci is building a record that is starting to overwhelm benefit of the doubt.

It is hard to imagine someone doing the same job for ~35 years and doing so incompetently. But there sure has been a lot of incompetence this time around. Add in that that they are doing these incompetent things for the first time. They did everything differently when he was in the job for only ~25 years.

On top of unexplained changes, incompetence, and political behavior, Fauci has lied. Lied about the very things he was involved with 10 years ago. The CDC page on the swine flu timeline brags about the test being developed by the CDC and approved by the FDA in 13 days from the discovery of the virus. Yet he told us they never acted faster. And after being developed, the vaccine was tested and approved in slightly under 2 months. People were being vaccinated 6 months after the virus was first detected. So next time he repeats his lies about it can’t be done faster, or we are doing it faster than ever, remember the CDC brags about doing it fast!

True, no solid evidence of duplicitous conspiracy. But lots of duplicity. And the congratulations for bringing in the Chinese Propagandist sure looks conspiratorial.

Fauci still has some room for benefit of the doubt. Not much. He is destroying what is left at a rapid rate.

He can also see how he talks out of his ass about quarantine time and all kind of vague answers, “maybe, maybe not.” He’s supposed to be the expert, and although this is new, he should have some kind of clue.

But maybe he’ll keep him around to know the Swamp’s next move or tactics. He needs to have someone else that actually wants to help co-chair the position at least. Because Fauci is stalling and we aren’t getting anywhere with him on board, just to have that adversarial point of view.

The Strange Case of Trish Regan (Too Smart for TV?)AP Photo/Richard Drew

“Look, Regan won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, just like Rachel Maddow isn’t, but Regan is a real journalist with real credentials. She’s no dummy. She has a degree in history from Columbia University and wasn’t considered “bonkers” when she worked for CBS News, where she was nominated for an Emmy for investigative reporting. She wasn’t considered “batsh*t” crazy when she worked for CNBC and was nominated for an Emmy for best documentary. Nor when she worked for Bloomberg Television or Fox Business for the last eight years.

Oddly enough, she wasn’t crazy until she defended President Trump from the liberal media and their Democratic Party allies over his handling of the coronavirus crisis. She backed up her assertions about the assault on Trump with clips that made the point for her: Rep. Jackie Speier saying the president isn’t “capable of telling us the truth about the coronavirus”; Joe Scarborough saying that “they have no plan”; Rahm Emanuel saying that the administration looks like “it couldn’t organize a one-car parade.” Most revealing was a snippet from MSNBC that “this is an event that could take down a president.”

Hmm … “take down a president.” That sure sounds like a desire for impeachment, but Regan wasn’t supposed to say so.”

I spend significant time staying abreast of this pandemic from many sources. The true eye-opener for me has been the realization of how globalist/political/left wing the field of public health currently is. This leads me to the conclusion that the evil-doers have shifted strategy from the courts to the public health machinery as the future means by which they will impose their will upon us all. We all see now how formerly perfectly sane laws regarding government power during a time of public health crisis (think early 20th century and fatal communicable diseases) can be turned into instruments of power, oppression, and political gain when coupled with a compliant disinformation organ like our current MSM.

But the only viable way that I can see this ending soon is to get the death rate down. This starves the oxygen from Gates/NWO/Dems/Swamp/Soros or whoever wants to cripple our economy and take away our freedom. Rather than focusing on who exactly is behind it and for what, let’s focus on the solution that is directly in front of us: The Hydroxychloroquine cure.

By pushing this, sharing it, demanding it, we can cut down the number of deaths, save lives, restore our economy and freedom.

“U.S. reports 1,264 coronavirus deaths in over 24 hours,” NBC News recited this week. “Meanwhile in China, where the pandemic broke out, not a single new coronavirus death was reported.”

“Health officials reported 32 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in mainland China on Monday, all of them imported, bringing the total to 81,740,” the NBC article continues. “The former epicenter of the epidemic, Wuhan, reported only two new confirmed cases in the past 14 days.”

Now seems like a good time to remind everyone that the regime that claims now to have had no new coronavirus deaths since January is the same regime that claims only 200 civilians and security personnel died in the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre. (The actual number may be as high as 10,000.)”
