President Trump Impromptu Presser Departing White House – Video and Transcript…

Chopper pressers are the best pressers.  While departing the White House for Virginia, President Trump stopped to answer quick questions from the media.

.

[Transcript] – Q Mr. President, do you think the Easter timeline is off the table now, sir?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, we’re going to see what happens. We want to get our country back to work. The doctors, nurses, first responders — everybody doing a phenomenal job, like beyond good.

I’m going to — as you know, the Comfort — the great ship, Comfort — is stocked up to the gills. It’s right up to the top. And we’re going over there. I guess some of you are coming with me. But we’re going to send that up to New York four weeks ahead of schedule. And it is loaded up with everything. So that’s great.

I just spoke with Governor Cuomo, and he’s expecting it on Monday. It’ll take about two days. So we’re very excited about that.

But I’m going to go see the people that did the work, because it was supposed to take a good four weeks, and we did it in four days. So that’s pretty good.

Q Mr. President, have you spoken to Mark Cuban about 3M? And are you planning to maybe —

THE PRESIDENT: No, I think —

Q — (inaudible) DPA?

THE PRESIDENT: I think 3M has done an incredible job. I just spoke to Ken Langone. I think he’s on the board of 3M. He called up and he said what a great job they’ve done. I think 3M, from everybody — what everybody said, they’ve done an incredible job.

Okay?

Q Mr. President, in terms of DPA —

Q Do you think you’ll have enough ventilators?

THE PRESIDENT: Oh, we’re going to have plenty. Absolutely.

Q Do you intend to use DPA again in the next week or so?

THE PRESIDENT: We’re going to use — I would say we’ll use it again, maybe once or twice. We have a couple of little problem children, and we’ll use it where we have to. But, overall, I tell you, the private free enterprise system is at work like nobody has seen in a long time. It’s a beautiful thing.

Q What kinds of supplies, Mr. President?

THE PRESIDENT: It’s a beautiful thing to watch.

Q What kinds of supplies might you use the DPA again to produce?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, we’re looking at two companies that have not lived up to what they said. I would say they’re in a 1 percent group, okay? And now, all of a sudden, they heard we’re going to use it, and they’re rolling out the red carpet.

Q Should anyone who lives in a state that has a governor that you’re not getting along with well be concerned at all?

THE PRESIDENT: So, I think, really, most of the governors are very appreciative. As I said, I just spoke with Andrew Cuomo. I just spoke with Ron DeSantis. We’re thinking about certain things. Some people would like to see New York quarantined because it’s a hotspot — New York, New Jersey. Maybe one or two other places; certain parts of Connecticut quarantined. I’m thinking about that right now. We might not have to do it, but there’s a possibility that sometime today we’ll do a quarantine — short-term, two weeks — on New York, probably New Jersey, certain parts of Connecticut.

Q Restricting travel from those places?

THE PRESIDENT: Restrict travel. Because they’re having problems down in Florida. A lot of New Yorkers are going down. We don’t want that. Heavily infected. We’re having a really good dialogue with Governor Cuomo. We’ve supplied him with a lot of things. We’re giving him an extra four medical centers, tents. That’s beyond what we’ve already given. As you know, we’re giving them to New Jersey. We’re doing a great job with the Governor of New Jersey. He’s been very good.

Q Will that be a more enforceable kind of quarantine, sir?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, this would be an enforceable quarantine. And, you know, I’d rather not do it, but we may need it. So I will see you over at the ship.

I saw him make the remarks at his presser before he left for Norfolk concerning the quarantine and the activation was ordered by President Trump. I already know Murphy and Cuomo are globalist tools. However I’m not comfortable with the potential of troops riding through my neighborhood. I served for 3 years in the US Army under Carter and Reagan. My concern has more to do with exposing our forces to the virus because of inept politicians.

Oh they were itching to get him to commit to using the DPA again, trying to get him to reveal what supplies. So they could immediately write stories of how unprepared he was by not making sure those supplies were available, like, 2 months ago.. But PDJT saw thru that obvious setup and skillfully swatted that away.

What I understood sounded like only a travel quarantine… interstate, possibly inter-county on a few borders.

But let’s put a left-spin on it. Call it an “enforced sanctuary.”

He sure had the balls to call for the political assassination of Congressman Tom Massey for the ridiculous request that each member vote so the voters know how they voted on the most expensive spending bill in the history of the nation, and a bill that none of the Congress members had actually read. Trump made it clear he is no sissy and he doesn’t tolerate political dissent in America.

Are you saying I am not respecting the cult. Trumps comments about Massie were disgusting, the opposite of what a leader in a representative republic, a trashing of the only person in the whole scene who bothered to think about the Constitution. And a demand he be removed from the party. That is the height of arrogance and the behavior of a spoiled child tyrant.

We will never get out of this mess if everyone treats Trump, who I liked a lot till about two weeks ago, as a God who never makes a mistake. Shutting down the national economy and causing $2.2 trillion in damage in just two weeks with the damage still be inflicted on American workers and businesses is a massive mistake. Everyone here should be doing everything possible to influence Trump to understand this indefinite shutdown is killing the country and must stop ASAP and he has better respect the workers more and the leftist unelected health experts less.

And he should start this reversal and course correction off with a sincere apology to Tom Massie and a thank you to him for reminding him in this time of virtual nationwide martial law that the Constitution is our North Star. And it had better be pulled out of the trash can and respected or we are done.

He didn’t shut down the national economy. He said keep clean and practice a little distance. It’s the governors and mayors that ran with it. If you liked him up until two weeks ago, then you are not MAGA, just an opportunist.

Then on what basis does he now say he is hoping to open the economy by Easter, but not end the shutdown after his original 14 Day Protocol which ends on Monday? He issued a National Declaration of Health Emergency. He has issued directives to all states warning of the dangers of people assembling in any groups of more than 10. He says we should not touch surfaces where other people are. His statements in the Daily Briefings are in 100% support of the state shutdowns, like mine in Ohio. We don’t have a national shutdown of national businesses and all the others too, without the very strong influence and pressure from the federal government which runs most things. The states are very subordinate and the President yesterday said he would be signing another massive bill soon to pay for all the state costs of the Shutdown. It is the height of denial of reality to say Trump is not in fact leading on the shutdown on the advice of Dr. Fauci and the Woman Doctor. You are not a thinking person if you deny this – you are a cult member.

The way I see it, Trump is in full damage-control mode, mitigating as much damage as he can by going along with it for now and curbing the worst impulses as far as within his power.

But by all means, keep telling us how he should commit political suicide and allow thousands or tens of thousands of Americans to die. After all, New York City and New Orleans had the same attitude you do and that turned out great, right?

      • Nice try at getting your TDS out stealth mode. Massey was making a political point, virtue signaling at the expense of others. His behavior was disgraceful. To signal his purity as Cruz & Paul have done in the past he engineered a pointless exercise that wasted $ and went against the 15 day plan since the members appearing was not essential & changed nothing. Massey was much worse than Cruz or Paul since they didn’t have make their “principled stands” during times of National crisis.
Members had read the bill. We had commentary from members and discussion of specifics that they wished weren’t included and what was included.
The situation was clear Nan & Chuckie wanted to use their leverage to grab everything they could from payoffs, to changing the way the Nation votes, everything in the Leftist wish list. President Trump and the Senate stood firm and held to the bipartisan agreement forged in the Senate. There were some small concessions but not too many. The giveaways have defined sunsets so the damage is minimized. I’m sorry that so much money is being spent but the situation demands support of the people, businesses large & small and support of the effort.
Massey has gotten lots of donations from people who rebel against increasing debt and stand on principle while Rome burns. Apparently he is in a safe district and will not pay a price for his cynical ploy sometimes however karma finds a way.

As Mark Levin pointed out on Friday night more eloquently that I have, Tom Massie was doing his job. You don’t pass a $2.2 trillion bill without a vote where each members position is recorded so the voters know who did what. You are advocating for secret ballots which is amazingly ignorant. And he did this on principle, defending the Constitution. Of course, we now have people like you who don’t mind secret votes and who love the idea of a President ordering a corporation to make a product they know nothing about and do it under the terms he demands, aka the nationalization of the company. Because we are in a “war”. Right. A war on the American people. Well you deserve an endless shutdown and an America that looks like Venezuela because you don’t support the Constitution, you support a unrestrained tyrant, and a totally worthless currency. All accomplished in just two weeks.

In today’s at total war America, we do not permit Congressmen to vote as they see fit. If a Congressman votes against what the President and Nancy Pelosi both want, in a very rare and very temporary moment of unity, he must be removed from the party and from Congress immediately.

The audacity of this man to not want to vote for a bill just because nobody had read or knew what was in it and it cost several $trillions of dollars we don’t have is ludicrous horse dung and hurtfull and unacceptable to all real Americans.

Tom Massie must not only be thrown out of the party, he and his wife and little dog and pet goldfish should be taken in the middle of the night by at least a courageous 29man FBI Swat team, indicted, stripped naked, tarred and feathered and sent to Gitmo.

            • Come in and vote when the decision was already made? Pure virtue signaling.
The American people are supposed to work from home if possible, only essential work that must be done in person, avoid groups.

Many House members are already ill. So 60, 70, 80 year olds all of whom are at risk by age, may of who have specific risk factors and have family members at risk fly across the country for a pro forma appearance to satisfy this man’s ambition when they were in agreement and the personal appearance would not make a change.
I supported McConnell keeping the Senate in session because they were meeting, discussing, horsetrading etc. But insisting on this totally needless show appearance was a disgrace and showed a lack of consideration for others that borders on pathological egotism.

Your comment is fitting for the new Republican Party, the leader of which forever branded Ted Cruz, as Lyin’ Ted because he preferred juvenile insults to civil debate with a member of his own party he happened to be running against. Trump is the master of the insult. He uses this not only against real enemies who deserve the treatment, but against natural allies and people of great value to his own cause, like Cruz and Massie and the Freedom Caucus, which Trump trashed when he was lobbying to make Paul Ryan Speaker. He trashed the CEO of GM yesterday for daring to insist on negotiating a reasonable solution to his request about ventilators. Totally classless and totally the behavior of a tyrant. It is easy to insult. Harder to be civil. It is a skill Trump will never possess. This means he will never be a real leader.

Brendan Buck, slammed Massie for forcing colleagues who are older and thereby considered more vulnerable to potentially fatal consequences from the virus, to travel to debate a measure that is a foregone conclusion.

“Thomas Massie is legitimately threatening the health of his colleagues, many in their 60s or 70s even 80s,” Buck tweeted. “I hope no one forgets what he’s done here.”

One Republican lobbyist who previously worked with House leaders on Capitol Hill also implied Massie was a hypocrite.
“It’s just grandstanding, his effort to delay the stimulus will not change the outcome,” said Sam Geduldig, co-CEO of the firm CGCN Group. “He also rails against the swamp, rails against lobbyists, and then sends emails to lobbyists to attend his fundraisers, which arrive in our in-boxes quarterly.”

One thing about those Members of the House of Reps, they travel all the time, constantly on the move, continually in meetings of people, always on the lookout for old number one.

It was not too much for those poor old men and poor old women to either stay in the Capitol or return to do their Constitutionally-honored work. It was a swamp move. Kevin McCarthy was in it as deep as Nancy Pelosi. At least Rep Massey forced them to bring enough for a quorum, if the report of the count for the voice vote was not a lie, and we had a valid and legal vote.

And did you notice the only delay, caused by Thomas Massey, was the time used to count the members present? The name of the problem is Democrat Nancy Pelosi.

            MAGA on, comrades.

I believe most of us agree with your general disdain of Congress critters however that does not make Massey correct in this instance. You are aware that Massey’s record of votes is not supportive of the President’s agenda. I would be chary of making Massey a hero for this grandstanding.

Thomas Massey got $4 billion that was allocated for “mail in election voting” removed from the bill. Trump was OK with mail in voting. McConnell – OK with mail in voting. The idea was Pelosi’s. Tom Massie forced a vote and got it removed. And now Trump attacks the only guy who read this evil monstrosity bill that makes Obama’s Porkulus look like an 8 years old allowance by comparison. Tom Massie is the hero. Everyone that supported this insane bill should be thrown out of office for dereliction of duty. The bill by itself could destroy of economy. And we don’t know 1/10 of the bull excrement that is in it. That will only be learned later, when we are in the Depression it causes.

You have merely noted the Rule–that all members should be on record with their vote; and not allowed for the exception—which all rules must have—which are the exigencies of a dire situation merit dire measures.

The problem with invoking such an exception is whether is whether the situation is dire enough. The Senate UNANIMOUSLY said YES. Trump and Pelosi both, who hate each other with gusto—BOTH AGREED—which means all or almost all of both Democrats and Republicans would surely agree.

Massie should have had enough common sense to see this is the Exception that is justified under the circumstance.

Actually, spending $2.2 trillion with nobody knowing what’s in the bill is the Dire Emergency. That is the virus. The war Trump is fighting is a fake war on a fake virus that he has used to shutdown America and install himself as a Dictator. Who would have thought. But it is dictators who order CEOs to turn their factories upside down and ask no questions. It is a dictator who orders a Congressman to shut up and do what he says. This is the most disgusting behavior out of a Republican President in my 65 years. I expect this from Obama and Clinton. To see this massive disregard of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, disregard forthe separation of powers, disrespect for the currency, from a Republican is proof that we do now have the real Uniparty.
