  1. Things you can do to stay safe:
    – General hygiene/Sanitation recommendations (see CDC and others)
    – Take at least 3,000 mg of Vitamin C. I take Ester C since it is easier on the stomach
    – Either get enough sun or take vitamin D (I take 20,000+)
    – Get good rest
    – Laugh daily

  2. the New York Times parroting the phony numbers of the Chinese Politburo: “The US Now Leads The World In Coronavirus Cases”, the Times claimed without evidence.

To which professional patient Hillary Jezebel Clinton rejoined: “He did promise “America First”.”

I bet she was up ’til 3 a.m. writing that joke.

The same Times article has reporter Julia Ioffe asking questions. Unfortunately, the question is this: “Who is the shithole country now?”

You can just feel the patriotism dripping of that tweet from here, can’t you?

So to answer the Commie brat without further ado, and with a tip of the hat to a comedian who asked that we not use his name Jeff Foxworthy, we present:

You may be a shithole country if…

…your President-for-Life has almost as many medals as John Kerry applied for.
…the hurricane you experienced 30 years ago is still a front-page national emergency.
…machetes are placed on the right with the salad fork.
…all press reports start by praising your country’s Menshevik medical system.
…your Transport Ministry classifies a llama as a “muscle car”.
…your National Fragrance is musk ox.
…the hit of the Boat Show is the exciting new Twin Outboard Water Buffalo 2000!
…even gypsies refuse to steal your children.
…nerve gas just went up to $2.89 per gallon self-serve.
…All the cool American college students put your Gestapo Chief’s picture on their t-shirts.

You may be a shithole country if…

…your Number #1 pizza topping is tree bark.
…Dick Durbin and Bob Mueller scrubbed all references to your culture from the FBI’s counter-terrorism manuals on orders from the local Muslim Brotherhood, Oval Office Chapter.
…college professors insist we adopt your country’s political system, even though you just ate Sunday brunch from a dumpster.
…your nation’s entire GDP is based on Deepak Chopra successfully bilking lonely widows.
…the .50 caliber machine guns you just bought out of the back of a stolen Lexus in Juarez say “Courtesy of Eric Holder”.
…the secret ingredient in your country’s hot dogs: a hot dog.
…your national Rock-Throwing Team has dominated the Olympic Medal count for the last fifty years.

You may be a shithole country if…

…your dictators, criminals and terrorists got their nukes from Obama, their machine guns from Holder, their small arms from Hillary, their censorship from Facebook and their excuses from the Mainstream Fake News.
…”Snakes on a Plane!” is both the in-flight movie and the motto painted on the tail-fin of your national airline.
…you want to sacrifice a 9 year-old virgin to the volcano but they’re all happily married.
…Liam Neeson is rescuing his daughter from your extended family.
    …your State-Run Media isn’t must-see TV–it’s Must-Watch.
…your Entertainment Industry is powered by dung-fired power plants. And the entertainment consists of watching the dung fire.

And finally, you may be a shithole country if…

…your banana republic’s cabinet ministers openly took bribes while the “independent” press stared at their shoes as the former el Presidente wiretapped political opponents in collusion with the National Police Force in order to rig the last election and–oh, wait a damn minuto…

Inside the Story of How H-E-B Planned for the Pandemic

“The grocer started communicating with Chinese counterparts in January and was running tabletop simulations a few weeks later. (But nothing prepared it for the rush on toilet paper.)
    ~
“This isn’t the first time H-E-B has done a good job of managing a disaster—it played an important role in helping the Gulf Coast recover from Hurricane Harvey in the immediate aftermath of the storm—which led us to ask: How did a regional supermarket chain develop systems that allow it to stay ahead of a crisis as big as this one? We spoke with nearly a dozen employees, executives, and customers to better understand—in their words—how H-E-B has taken on its unique role in shaping its business around the needs of Texans in the midst of trying circumstances.”

I too can fondly remember when all of us were laughing at the unnecessary runs on toilet paper in places close to China back in January. Such a long time ago.

As someone who prides himself on having at least half-a-brain, I wonder how we were all blindsided in not preparing for our own local runs on toilet paper just a month or two later. As in anyone with half-a-brain should have seen it coming.

      Pride cometh before the fall.

Numerous counties in NY, NJ & Ct. have no more cases than flyover country. Treating the entirety of any State alike is ill-advised.

I oppose any such quarantines/blockades in any event. Even mentioning such a possibility will now lead to a “rush for the exits,” as well as prevent/deter people from bringing in “essential” supplies for fear they’ll be trapped when and if the EO comes. I hope DJT quickly announces he has decided AGAINST this.

Not that many care about our Constitution at this point, but neither POTUS nor any of our State potentates have the authority to prevent American citizens in general from moving freely within States and across State lines. It’s one thing to quarantine and restrict the movement of persons who HAVE a highly infectious and contagious disease. It’s quite another to deprive other citizens of their liberties.

I hear two different things for CT. I am hearing
parts of CT likely Fairfield County.which border NY and
Westchester County.. Fairfield County has over half our
states cases and most of the deaths.. So there is no need to
          do the whole state.

I don;t know why (or even if) the Governor Lamont doesn;t shut Metro North
commuter rail in and out of NYC and Westchester County as well as
Fairfield county it can still run from New Haven up to Boston.

But lots of people us it to commute to the city or to go visit the city
but with quarantine you wouldn;t be able to do that so shut it down.
for now. That is not used for trade or commerce it is simply a commuter
          train..

Amtrak is a different I am not sure how or if that could be stopped
since it runs from Florida all the up past CT.. And I believe that is
          federal.

As of a couple minutes ago I now know of two cases and both are pretty darn sick. One looks to be recovering but the other just started the journey, is already health compromised. I still think this is all a political situation to shut down the country but it makes me sad and scared to watch people fight for their lives when there are other ways to handle this. It also frustrates me that you can not be tested to see if you already had the virus so that loved ones aren’t just dropped on the hospital driveway with a cell phone. This continues to strike me as bizarre. Really sad that people are so sick with no human contact besides hospital staff.

    ** REMARKS BY PRESIDENT TRUMP
    BEFORE MARINE ONE DEPARTURE

    South Lawn

    ————————————————————

    **
    12:13 P.M. EDT

Q Mr. President, do you think the Easter timeline is off the table now, sir?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, we’re going to see what happens. We want to get our country back to work. The doctors, nurses, first responders — everybody doing a phenomenal job, like beyond good.

I’m going to — as you know, the Comfort — the great ship, Comfort — is stocked up to the gills. It’s right up to the top. And we’re going over there. I guess some of you are coming with me. But we’re going to send that up to New York four weeks ahead of schedule. And it is loaded up with everything. So that’s great.

I just spoke with Governor Cuomo, and he’s expecting it on Monday. It’ll take about two days. So we’re very excited about that.

But I’m going to go see the people that did the work, because it was supposed to take a good four weeks, and we did it in four days. So that’s pretty good.

Q Mr. President, have you spoken to Mark Cuban about 3M? And are you planning to maybe —

THE PRESIDENT: No, I think —

    Q — (inaudible) DPA?

THE PRESIDENT: I think 3M has done an incredible job. I just spoke to Ken Langone. I think he’s on the board of 3M. He called up and he said what a great job they’ve done. I think 3M, from everybody — what everybody said, they’ve done an incredible job.

    Okay?

Q Mr. President, in terms of DPA —

Q Do you think you’ll have enough ventilators?

THE PRESIDENT: Oh, we’re going to have plenty. Absolutely.

Q Do you intend to use DPA again in the next week or so?

THE PRESIDENT: We’re going to use — I would say we’ll use it again, maybe once or twice. We have a couple of little problem children, and we’ll use it where we have to. But, overall, I tell you, the private free enterprise system is at work like nobody has seen in a long time. It’s a beautiful thing.

Q What kinds of supplies, Mr. President?

THE PRESIDENT: It’s a beautiful thing to watch.

Q What kinds of supplies might you use the DPA again to produce?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, we’re looking at two companies that have not lived up to what they said. I would say they’re in a 1 percent group, okay? And now, all of a sudden, they heard we’re going to use it, and they’re rolling out the red carpet.

Q Should anyone who lives in a state that has a governor that you’re not getting along with well be concerned at all?

THE PRESIDENT: So, I think, really, most of the governors are very appreciative. As I said, I just spoke with Andrew Cuomo. I just spoke with Ron DeSantis. We’re thinking about certain things. Some people would like to see New York quarantined because it’s a hotspot — New York, New Jersey. Maybe one or two other places; certain parts of Connecticut quarantined. I’m thinking about that right now. We might not have to do it, but there’s a possibility that sometime today we’ll do a quarantine — short-term, two weeks — on New York, probably New Jersey, certain parts of Connecticut.

Q Restricting travel from those places?

THE PRESIDENT: Restrict travel. Because they’re having problems down in Florida. A lot of New Yorkers are going down. We don’t want that. Heavily infected. We’re having a really good dialogue with Governor Cuomo. We’ve supplied him with a lot of things. We’re giving him an extra four medical centers, tents. That’s beyond what we’ve already given. As you know, we’re giving them to New Jersey. We’re doing a great job with the Governor of New Jersey. He’s been very good.

Q Will that be a more enforceable kind of quarantine, sir?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, this would be an enforceable quarantine. And, you know, I’d rather not do it, but we may need it. So I will see you over at the ship.

Apex in New York is estimated in 14-21 days from now
We’ll keep COVID-19 patients separated from the other patients in hospitals
We can now test for antibodies to determine whether a person had COVID-19. This is a blood test
172 new ICU admission in the last day, vs. 374 in the preceding day, may indicate a decline in the growth rate
155,934 people tested in New York State

Were some (many?) of those pneumonia deaths prior to March actually Covid-19 deaths? Or are many patients actually dying of pre-existing pneumonia, which they would have died from anyway, but (inaccurately) their death is attributed to Covid-19?

Of course. Common sense tells one that the more testing that is done, that more cases will be discovered at THAT TIME. We could very well be in the last or next to last GENERATION of this virus, discovering more infections via testing but the total ACTUAL number of new infections is in decline. The flawed Imperial College model indicated a peak in a few months later qualified in 2-3 weeks. The Oxford University model indicates a real possibility that we have already peaked and are in the last one or two GEN’s of this virus. Will we see more cases (ICU’s, death’s) over the next two-three weeks? Sure, exponential math says so. However, if the R0 factor is indeed 3, the virus will have run out of enough uninfected individuals to maintain that 3 factor and will fall to less than 1. The infection numbers should start to fall noticeably soon. There is the real possibility that like the 1918-1919 flu, enough people have isolated themselves and the more virulent strains have been ‘hot-housed’, a second wave could be experienced next flu season among those not previously infected. Even worse, a mutation from a ‘hot-housed’ strain could….well, won’t go there yet.

Actually it only takes a minute to show that the data is meaningless. In our worst flu year in the last 30 years, flu deaths were about 1/50 of the deaths in the US.

And the graphs are showing total mortality for the years. So flu and coronavirus deaths would be hidden in the overall mortality rates and be meaningless.

Back when the wildfires swept San Diego County, (and again during the big power outage that caused people to freak out and empty Walmart stores when the word was power out for 72 hours) the local KPBS station which had the contract for emergency radio broadcasts was playing pre-taped music, and national feeds- no local news and no county updates as contracted.

However, the reason NJ and CT are “hot spots” is probably because of people going in and out of NYC. Cuomo and/or DeBlasio should be shutting down NYC and allowing CT and NJ and the rest of NY to go on with their lives.

  40. I’m running dangerously low on beer. Is that a Federal, State or local issue?

Yes, Cuomo lies. 24/7/365. However, our POTUS is a good man (and life-long NYer) and has sent a boatload of medical items to NY, which will arrive Monday. We’ll be in good condition here. No thanks to Il Duce Cuomo.

I do understand Cuomo wanting to be prepared and collecting ventilators for the future. However, he makes it sounds like the reason people are dying is because he doesn’t have ventilators. Even complaining about a lack of personal protection equipment would not be a reason for the deaths. But he makes it sound as if those are the reasons people are dying.

What we know is this – … we are in the blue curve. What you are doing is helping us. What is important is that every day we don’t spread #COVID19 makes all the difference for our frontline healthcare workers.

  45. NY Post: “A Manhattan judge on Thursday ordered the release of a career criminal charged with stabbing his girlfriend to death out of concern he could contract coronavirus at Rikers, the Post has learned.
State Supreme Court Justice Mark Dwyer freed Pedro Vinent-Barcia, 63, and 15 other inmates after the Legal Aid Society filed a petition arguing that their detention exposed them to serious medical harm …
After cops nabbed him, he allegedly asked, “Is she dead? I hope so.”
The prosecutor told Dwyer that Vinent-Barcia was arrested in Florida for stabbing another girlfriend in 1993 and biting off a piece of her ear.”

So glad these judges protect everyone in NYC and allow gun sales to protect the loyal citizens/sac

What are the odds all these judges conceal carry …. because they are at risk.. but you my poor low life can be killed without consequence… what a pathetic judge.

I just wonder if anyone can review their bank accounts.. bet Harvey Weinstein has millions to help the judge decide… I can see it comming… these low life release are just paving the way…for bigger and better payouts…

President Trump is owning the downside by announcing he is considering quarantining NY, NJ and Connecticut. The impression is that those in power in these areas aren’t doing enough, He is flipping the script on them. Let’s see how they react.

Sadly, I live in NY – 20 miles from Manhattan. BUT if it takes this to flip the script, I am in. I am so sick of Andrew Evil Cuomo and all the nightmares he has brought to this once great state. Whatever happens Treepers I will provide on the scene reporting 😉 Thus far, it has been ok but leaning towards the downside of OK — Remote learning, ugh, husband can’t do elective surgeries (Orthopedist ) ugh, 4 kids aged 13-19 all at home eating 24/7 and NOT doing what they all love to do (rowing, theatre, hoops, everything!) ugh,… But we are here alive and together AND PDJT is at the helm so we are GOOD! No, better than GOOD – FANTASTIC!

I wish you no harm, but this fake outrage by Cuomo and his bosses must stop. This move is an effective way of doing that. He might not even need to do it, just mentioning it has obviously stunned Cuomo and the LSM. I can tell because they aren’t responding yet, they weren’t expecting it. They are now in a no win situation. Plus, Trump loses nothing politically if he loses support in NYC. Cuomo might be eliminated as a potential nominee once the smoke clears on this one. Cuomo’s response made no sense. Why? He didn’t get to practice the script beforehand. I am in Mississippi. We are ready to spend. Now!
