Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

    The Fruit Of The Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law” (Gal. 5:22,23).

The “fruit of the Spirit” is that combination of graces evidenced in the lives of believers who “walk in the Spirit.” Let us never make the mistake of supposing that “the Spirit,” in Gal. 5:22,23, refers to “the spirit of man which is in him” (I Cor. 2:11). It refers rather to the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, who indwells believers. The spiritual virtues listed above do not spring from any goodness in us, but from the Spirit of God dwelling within.

Next, we should observe that these graces are not the product of human effort. The passage above declares that they are fruit, and fruit is the natural product of life and growth. Indeed, “the fruit of the Spirit” is here contrasted with “the works of the flesh” (Vers. 19-21), and these are all bad!

Finally, it is a remarkable fact that the graces which the Holy Spirit produces in yielded believers are certainly not those which the world admires. The world admires self-confidence, self-respect, self-made men, intellectual prowess, personal magnetism, authority, etc., while the Spirit produces “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.” But consider the difference. A man may have self-confidence, intellectual acumen, political or other power — and he may still be very difficult to live with, but not so with the virtues which the Spirit produces. Of those who possess these graces the Apostle says: “Against such there is no law.”

    By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

1Corinthians 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    “Arise, shine.” Isaiah lx. 1

We have to take the first step as though there were no God. It is no use to wait for God to help us, He will not; but immediately we arise we find He is there. Whenever God inspires, the initiative is a moral one. We must do the thing and not lie like a log. If we will arise and shine, drudgery becomes divinely transfigured.

Drudgery is one of the finest touchstones of character there is. Drudgery is work that is very far removed from anything to do with the ideal – the utterly mean grubby things; and when we come in contact with them we know instantly whether or not we are spiritually real. Read John xiii. We see there the Incarnate God doing the most desperate piece of drudgery, washing fishermen’s feet, and He says – “If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.” It requires the inspiration of God to go through drudgery with the light of God upon it. Some people do a certain thing and the way in which they do it hallows that thing for ever afterwards. It may be the most commonplace thing, but after we have seen them do it, it becomes different. When the Lord does a thing through us, He always transfigures it. Our Lord took on Him our human flesh and transfigured it, and it has become for every saint the temple of the Holy Ghost.

Yes, there really are cracks in Earth’s magnetic field. One of them opened on Feb. 18th, sparking some of the strangest auroras in years. First, the night sky turned blue over the Lofoten Islands of Norway:

“After snow, sleet, and heavy wind all day, the clouds parted for a 2 hour display of spectacular pale green, blue, and purple auroras over the mountains of Reine,” says photographer Matthew Steinberg.

Blue auroras are rare. Auroras are usually green, and sometimes red. Those are the colors produced by oxygen when it is excited by electrons raining down from space. Blue is a sign of nitrogen. Energetic particles striking ionized molecular nitrogen (N2+) at very high altitudes (> 400 km) produces a cold azure glow of the type captured in Steinberg’s photo. Usually the blue is faint, but on Feb. 18th it was strangely intense.

Next, the auroras turned green again. But they were strangely shaped. This was the view from Tromsø, Norway:

“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” says photographer Markus Varik, a longtime aurora tour guide who previously thought he had seen it all. “This strange rippling band formation unfolded overhead. It was so different than the usual aurora arcs. Truly magic! Let’s hope for some more strange shapes tomorrow!”

Indeed, it could happen. A G1-class geomagnetic storm is underway, and more Arctic auroras are in the offing. Stay tuned. Aurora alerts: SMS Text.

Good morning Doug. In the late 70’s I was on wheel-watch one (very dark night) out on the high-seas on my dads commercial fishing boat. Seemingly out of nowhere, the most beautiful bright orange crescent moon appeared on the horizon. That image has stayed with me for all these years. The following are the lyrics to a song I completed a few months ago:

    From: Mark Boyce
    Sent: Sunday, May 20, 2018 8:50 AM
    To: Mark Boyce
    Subject: Portrait Island

Late one night the moon cried out, while sailing on the sea

I’ve come to lay my crescent down, and join this human-being

The ocean waits for a change in the tide, as I move towards the sun

The southern skies are synchronized, and the night is long

    I hear a steel-drum sound, and a mission bell….the rhythm of a waterfall

The old man sits on the island shore, awaiting my port-of-call

As I draw near to the outer-banks, it’ll raise my point of view

The tropic sea becomes his wishing-well by the light of my crescent moon

It’s been said before, below these southern skies

(that I) once chased an equinox, then stayed here for a night

Even as the world stood still, and the trade-winds settled down

It was here on Portrait Island I laid my crescent down

It’s dark as night the moon cried out, to the small house on a hill

I’ve come to make my presence known, outside his window sill

The ocean waits for the break of dawn, there’s a ship out on the sea

Here in the heart of an old sailor-man, he’s reaching out for me

My oh my! oh my my

    Everybody knows cows don’t fly

But you can feel it in the air tonight, way beyond the coconut trees

I’ve come to lay my crescent down and sail this autumn breeze

We’ve been here before, below these southern skies

The old man and the moon, at the water’s edge tonight

Guided by the midnight stars, we’ve sailed the rolling tide

And I’ll come back to Portrait Island when the trade-winds come alive

      Glad to see this;

these lawsuits plus the one he just filed against the prosecutors and State of Florida, along with remarks from the former Gov. of Illinois (can’t spell his name) about the manipulative abuse of power that put him behind bars,

these seem to be a part of a growing movement to stop the incessant lies and abuse of power by politicians and their use of law enforcement against those who don’t fit the preferred narrative.

It’s a nice start; perhaps a ricochet effect from the ground up that can bring the rule of law back into alignment after watching and learning from the masterful way President Trump stayed focused on his job and prevailed over the series of hoaxes, accusations and impeachment moves.

      Make ’em pay. Bigly!

The murder of Jovanni Alexander Sierra should have been the occasion for a national discussion about the phenomenon of converts to Islam becoming violent, which keeps happening, and what should be done about it. What surprises me is that the cruise lines have experienced trouble with disease epidemics before, and it is costly for them whether *norovirus* or anything else contagious.

How bizarre that the cruise line management would not have developed protocols, years ago, to counter disease outbreaks like this one?

By the way, check and see if your school board and administrators have any contingency plans in place for what they will do if schools have to close for this epidemic. Also ask the hpspitals, pharmacy staff and medical offices if they are prepared.

In San Francisco, you can notice bus drivers and cable car conductors wearing face masks. They are aware of the possibilities. Facebook has cancelled a large conference that was scheduled for early March, because they know they have a lot of employees who have gone back and forth to China while this was developing.

Your community might not be ready to deal.with this if, or when it hits us. Bring it up, scare anybody, but to brainstorm and prepare for the potential.problems.

Let me ponder on the Lord Jesus as a worker:

    1. As a manual worker for many years.
    2. As a spiritual worker, ceaselessly teaching, consoling and healing men and giving a new commandment to the world.
    3. As a tireless worker who left the counsel: “work while it is yet light.”
