Boarder Patrol nabs another one …

Tackle Greg Robinson is set for free agency in March, but anyone thinking about signing him may decide to wait on word of his legal situation.

TMZ Sports reports that Robinson was arrested on Monday. The arrest came when Robinson was stopped at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He was taken into custody after marijuana was found in his vehicle.

Robinson remains in custody and is reportedly facing a charge of possession with the intent to distribute.

Robinson was the second overall pick of the 2014 draft by the Rams, but didn’t pan out as hoped for his first club. He spent time with the Lions before joining the Browns in 2018. He started 22 games the last two years, but Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports the team told him earlier in the offseason that they wouldn’t be re-signing him.

When you are crossing the international border into the United States, Federal (not state) laws apply.

        Distribution

Distribution of a small amount of marijuana, for no remuneration, is treated as possession.

Manufacture or distribution of less than 50 plants or 50 kilograms of marijuana is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

For 50-99 plants or 50-99 kilograms the penalty increases not more than 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million if an individual, $5 million if other than an individual for the first offense.

Manufacture or distribution of 100-999 plants or 100-999 kilograms carries a penalty of 5 – 40 years in prison and a fine of $2-$5 Million.

For 1000 plants or 1000 kilograms or more, the penalty increases to 10 years – life in prison and a fine of $4-$10 Million.

    • I frankly don’t want to see this man in the White House. Like all the other candidates who are Senators, I think that the Senate is where he is (more or less …) effective, and where he should stay.

And, yes: He is “too damned old.”

The Presidency is an essentially powerless position compared to Congress. If these people wanted to make changes like they’re talking about on the campaign trail, any of them could begin doing so right now, with the powers that they now have as Senators and would not have as President. I’m not holding my breath.

      • The President of the United States is the only authorized actor in furtherance of our laws and constitution. The two other branches are devoted to ‘words on a page’ (judicial rulings, or drafting of laws) that are submitted to the President for his actions, veto or deferral. He alone is authorized to arrest, confiscate, execute, send into battle, or any other action that in his presidential judgement will further the safety and security of the United States. He alone is the ultimate, and saving check on unconstitutional judicial decisions or Congressional proposals. He alone is authorized to defer, or ignore laws that in his estimation are unconstitutional or endanger the lives of our citizens.
Not even a congressional override could turn a dangerous law into action without the President’s consent and expressed act.
Not even a mutinous, rogue, and criminal impeachment and removal of the President would, if wisdom prevailed, result in the President of the United States and his Attorney General ceding their authority, but rather creating, from that day forward, a newly-formed Constitutional Government of the United States. To do otherwise, would be to validate an unconstitutional process of coup d’Etat, and ensuing civil war. If such events were to occur, it would obviously spell the end of the United States in the sense that we know it. But a great president would not allow millions of Americans to live under obvious lawlessness and tyranny. He would call for a new constitutional convention while arresting the conspirators.
All of these issues, known and unimagined, comprise the awesome responsibility, power and authority of the President of the United States.

    So far you have
    1. Ensured not a single coup plotter is indicted and goes on book tours and TV to trash our President.
    2. Reprimanded our President for tweeting and making your job so much harder.
    3. Gone out of your way to block any and all efforts at transparency and making Judicial Watch sue your Department and the FBI for information, but at least you still redact significant information out when you are forced to reveal any information.
    4. In your endless wisdom and intelligence far above us plebes declared “Epstein killed himself”
    5. Made sure that the DOJ and FBI can keep lying about basic facts in the Flynn case.

Until the Mueller and then the Impeachment travesties were in the rear view mirror [July 2019 and Feb 2020, respectively], anything he might have done WRT the corruption could have and would have been used as obstruction excuses.

Yes…we are all beyond frustrated that nobody has been held accountable yet.

And yes….there are fair criticisms levied about things he has NOT done….yet. Especially WRT declassification and his apparent protection of Rosenhack and Wray.

P/T is doing his duty according to the Constitution and will NOT stop tweeting until each Coup/Criminal goes through the trial process for their criminal acts.

President Trump is going to implement Justice; with or without Bar (Strategically planned since Nov 2016).

P/T is telling Barr; follow normal investigative/prosecutorial policies and procedures, follow the evidence were ever it leads and prosecute. We see the evidence and there is enough evidence according to policies and procedures to open up investigations. We see enough evidence that appear to be way beyond a reasonable doubt.

Every time Trump tweets about Barr, he makes it look like Barr is supposed to be a partisan going after the president’s enemies (you, know, like Obama’s wingman, Holder). This just give the MSM ammo to use against Barr and Durham.

If the Durham investigation is to have any credibility, it must be seen as thorough and impartial by the public even if the Deep State squawks “witch hunt.”

Trump doesn’t know how complex a corruption investigation can be, how long it can take to assemble admissible evidence, and put it together in a comprehensive picture. The fact that Barr chose Durham shows he’s serious about doing thsi, but doing it right

According to TGP, Durham is now interviewing some of the Mueller probe’s 40 FBI agents. Some prior evidence led him down this path, and it was evidence worth following up on.

Durham and Barr have talked to Australians, Brits and Italians, as well. That’s why it can take so long – pull on one thread and find out it is connected to another one, pull the next one….

I can understand Trump’s anger at the last three years – Mueller, the impeachment, the attacks on associates and why he wants justice before the election, but he has to realize that he will help Barr and Durham more if he doesn’t tweet about Barr.

I disagree 100%. That would buy into the false narrative that the DOJ is independent of the President. Its not and never has been. The DOJ is an executive branch department and the President is the Chief Executive. The Presidents sworn oath is to see that the laws are faithfully executed.

As soon as you buy that narrative and start reacting in such a way, you are put on the defensive and your effectiveness is limited.

We made that mistake in Ukrainegate. Took the bait that there was anything wrong with what they even alleged the President did, and were thus on the defensive.

        • Wethal says:

Yes, the president has sworn an oath to see the laws are faithfully executed, and he has a justice department delegated to carry out that duty. He has in this case, even delegated his de-classification authority to Barr. If Trump thought Barr was not faithfully executing the laws, he should fire him, but he’s not.

The point of my post is that Trump is impatient with the pace of the investigation, not the direction. I practiced law in Philadelphia for 40 years, and we had a lot of federal prosecutions, Philadelphia being a city with a corrupt Democratic machine and the Mob (and sometimes a combination of the two). When a news report would come out, it often began with, “After a year-long investigation, the US Attorney announced indictments today…”

Although there no doubt was evidence from Nunes, the IG’s report, other sources, (and one would hope, from a staffer who reads the Treehouse), it can take time to present documents and witnesses to a grand jury. To flip a witness, you need enough evidence to convince that person that he is facing serious charges unless he cooperates. Then it’s a lesser charge, immunity, and maybe (with the Mob), the federal witness protection program, Following up on witness #1’s evidence leads to another witness, to documents to be obtained, and so on…

Barr has estimated Durham’s investigation concludes this spring (spring starts one month from today) or summer. He and Durham have come this far, and no one could take over at this point from those two and get up to speed before the election.

          Liked by 2 people

          • And I am 150% certain that what the Washington Post desperately wants to do is to throw a monkey-wrench into what it rightly fears that Barr and Durham are now doing.

They glimpsed an expression of frustration by Barr … which I happen to think is justified … and seized upon it to try to throw Barr under the bus.

Nothing about either man’s job right now is “easy.” But, both of them signed on to do it. And I think that both of them will, each to the very best of their ability. If there’s tension and disagreement, “okay, no surprise there!” And they can work it out.

            Like

        • Dawg, “I don’t.” Let me explain.

I think that Barr has a legitimate point to make when he says that “tweets” are causing problems for him. I think that on certain topics it therefore would be beneficial for the President to choose to change his behavior. Both parties have legitimate points. Both are doing very difficult jobs under conditions of extreme stress.

So, this is why I say that the two gentlemen simply need to “talk it out,” acknowledge each other’s position, and reach a private gentleman’s agreement between themselves. Which they don’t need to discuss publicly. If asked nosy questions by reporters, simply demur … “that is between me and …”

P/T tweets are an invaluable asset to implement Justice and his constant “Acknowledgements” for over 3-years “Guaranteed Justice” will happen. The “Acknowledgement” created a bound duty to implement Justice and P/T did this intentionally, starting 3-years ago and even during his campaign. P/T knew 3 years ago by his constant “Acknowledgments” it would be a dereliction of his duty, not to use all his powers given by the Constitution to implement Justice.

President Trump Checkmated himself into Justice.

P/T knows how long it takes to build a criminal case. When the President constructed building or 500 of P/T entities, he knew it takes a long time; you still apply pressure.

P/T doesn’t 100% trust anyone in the DOJ/FBI, even Barr until Justice is implemented. I personally followed /trust P/T hints/clues, what has to be done in order for our republic to have an on-going concern, knowing how P/T strategically thinks. I knew (extreme minority 1%) during his campaign and on Nov. 8th 2016, P/T was going to implement Justice.

P/T is very patient and strategically created the perfect stages we see today, for Easy Prosecutions Cases.

Today the flow of evidence is coming out from all directions. This did not happen by accident. Everyone thought this would all have been swept away long time ago.

P/T knew in Nov 2016 that his greatest act of his Presidency would be implementing Justice, saving the Rule of Law that protects the Constitution.

Following P/T through his historic business battles and his chess moves made is clear in what P/T was doing.

I knew when P/T stated during his presidential acceptance speech that maybe he should let Hillary escape justice; that was an intentional misleading comment for many reasons. P/T was not going to let anyone go.

P/T will sometimes keep his enemies close and mislead intentionally.

P/T knew how to clean house on Nov 8, 2016. He has done this his entire life. He needed to find his enemies and allow their own self destruction (prearranged by P.T) by adding mountains of paper/digital/testimonies trails of evidence to the already mountains of evidence.

Dr. Ben Carson was just interviewed on Hugh Hewitt’s radio program. Love listening to this man speak – not Hugh, LOL!

Carson spoke about the homeless issue in CA, as a direct result of Dem policy. He then veered into a truly frightening consideration.

If Corona virus found its way into one of these many homeless populations, it would be beyond catastrophic. It would be uncontrollable. Lights out.

It’s one thing to believe that people should have the freedom to live on the streets, or to have pity for illegals crossing the border – both erroneous thinking, IMO. But it is another to NOT realize that these misplaced stances ENDANGER our entire population.

Democrat policies kill. Their “compassion” is a lie. We are all at risk (from crime, disease, drugs, etc.) due to Democrat policies. Every. Single. Time.

    • Yeah, haven’t you folks already had a week in which to draft the next Articles of Impeachment? The US Senate and the Chief Justice really have nothing at all to do all summer long.

Remember: a Bill of Attainder is all you need … the Senate accepted it, thereby striking Sec. 1.9.3 from the text of the Constitution. You also no longer need to bother to suggest that the President actually did anything for which he would face “indictment, trial, conviction and punishment, according to law.” The Senate ignored that Constitutional provision also.

Therefore: “the President and all Supreme Court Justices now serve at the pleasure of the Congress.” Clearly, you just don’t like the man, and, as of January 2020, because the Senate did not rule your actions unconstitutional, “this is an impeachable offense.”

Just get rid of Trump and Pence too, so that your Speaker can finally become Madame Presidente like she so desperately wants to do. And while you’re at it, clean the Supreme Court, too. Pick the ones that you just don’t like, write a Bill of Attainder and take it to the Senate. After ten or fifteen impeachments, they might finally decide to vote the way you want them to.

Furthermore, there is the danger that was used by many Chicago mob bosses: “Everybody reads the Tribune, so everybody now thinks I’m guilty, therefore you could never convene a jury that would presume that I am innocent. Nor could a Grand Jury’s indictment be presumed to be impartial. Therefore, since you have to try me in Chicago, you can’t try me at all.” (That’s why mobsters used Tommy guns to get rid of their rivals, not courts.)

He thank the President and was praising his “Second Chance Act” and mentions Alice Johnson. He also praised the President for his kindness and said that he would vote for him if he was able to vote. The press conference is worth checking out.

Illinois politicians are beyond horrible. Corrupt, gender-bender Chicago mayor Lightfoot to Gov. Pritzer blasting Trump for communing Blago’s sentence with the latter claiming that Trump is abusing his power. They never have anything good to say. The Illinois GOP is beyond pathetic and very few of them proudly support out President. Even NY and CA have GOP politicians that strongly support the President. Here in Illinois, virtually nothing. Adam Kinzinger is in the same mold as Lindsey Graham and the dead nameless guy that twice ran for president and failed. Former governor Bruce Rauner was worthless and the less said about former US Senator Mark Kirk, the better. Townhall is highlighting a Washington Post opinion piece calling for “Preference Primaries”.

This is a euphemism for turning primaries into mere opinion polls. The elite of the Democrat Party would select the actual candidate, the “vote” of the Party members be damned. If Bernie squeezes through, something like this will no doubt follow.

Rush has warned of this for years. The Left/Democrats have had their fill of popular, democratic elections. Leftism is an intensely elitist, anti-democratic, anti-humanist doctrine. The State is the parent, the citizen becomes a child. How can a child direct the parent?

Every leftist State quickly evolves into a an elite (the Party), a special, enlightened 2 or 3% of the population, who “guide” (boss around) the great mass of the citizenry. Every leftist thinks like this: the Deplorables need to be ruled. This is why a gigantic snob like Bloomberg is a Democrat, and wants to be their leader. He will be a disgusting autocrat, if somehow elected.

    • Ausonius says:

Precisely, Raptors 2020! Fair elections are never part of the Leftist-Communist agenda. elections are used to legitimize a Communist regime, but they are never allowed to be “fair” elections, because the elitist Communist mentality (vide: “The Dictatorship of the Proletariat”) despises the average people (vide: “Deplorables”).

In Communist ideology the “proletariat” can never be allowed a say in government, because they do not know what is good for society. Hence Marx perpetrated a “dictatorship of the proletariat” and not a “Democracy” or a “Republic” of, for, and by the people.

Elections in post-WW II Eastern Europe were rigged so that – amazingly – Communist collaborators with occupying Russian troops always won. And if the Communists lost then an outright coup d’ etat was always possible (e.g. 1948 Czechoslovakia). Greece, birthplace of democracy, had to fight a Russian-backed leftist army in a civil war and barely escaped the Iron Curtain with the help of the United States.

No, free elections and letting the people vote are not wanted by Leftist Communists.

Always Communism (#nevertrump). Voters be damned: Let the party pick the candidate.

“On March 22, the New York Post ran a fine article by Jonah Goldberg that mainly dealt with the Electoral College. Those who are offended by how America elects her presidents would do well to read Goldberg’s concise piece, as it has some good info on how presidents in other nations are elected. But there was something else, perhaps a tad off-topic, that caught my attention (italics added):

As Elaine Kamarck of the Brookings Institution has observed, America is the only advanced democracy that has decided to strip its political parties of the power to select their own candidates. Until 1972 — through conventions, smoke-filled rooms, etc. — the parties, not the voters, determined who their presidential candidates would be. This function is among the informal checks and balances that make democracy workable around the globe; we scrapped it in favor of ever more open primaries.

America now suffers from a political paradox: This is one of the most partisan times in American history, but the parties have never been weaker.”
