McConnell Agrees With Bill Barr – President Trump Not Using Political Filter Enough With His Tweeting – Too Much Honesty….

Senator Mitch McConnell appears on Fox News to discuss his view on AG Bill Barr’s frustration with President Trump’s honest tweeting of opinion.

Leader McConnell agrees with AG Barr that President Trump is not being political enough with his communication.  President Trump is delivering too much honest information and direct opinion in a DC system that relies upon a purely political filter.  The absence of that political filter is creating a problem for all operational systems in Washington DC.

McConnell says the President “should listen to the Attorney General” and ignore the expectations of the American people who hired President Trump to be brutally honest as an anti-politician and disruptive influence in DC. DC-Based Brett Baier guides the conversation to stay focused on attacking President Trump for not being political enough.

.

And Brett Baier is a human Cabbage Patch doll.

He may want to arrest more than just a few though, and considering the staff he has to work with that can take time. Jessie Liu is now gone so he has less of a headwind, but it still isn’t plain sailing.

If you don’t like what the Trump administration is doing, the normal thing would be to blame Trump. If you think Trump can’t get much progress because of his problems with oh bummer holdovers, why do you think Barr has it any easier?

Don’t ever forget his hands are partly tied because Trump won’t let him go after oh bummer.

Why did Trump hire him in the first place if all he is going to do is protect the swamp creatures from prosecution? Jeff Sessions 2.0?

I still have hope that there will be prosecutions, but patience is running short now and the time to deliver is soon approaching!

Another thought that entered my mind when viewing Barr’s interview is that he needed to say what he said to dispel the Marxists accusations that he is Trump’s personal attorney. So in essence this could be a communications strategy to make Trump’s tweets a focus and to distract the narrative and focus on him. Trump is big enough to handle the criticisms. On the latter, it is my hope that is exactly what is at play here.

Poor Barr is projecting because he got royally played by the 4 Stone prosecutors. Barr mistakenly thought that if he left the Stone matter alone, it would go quietly away. Sure, Stone would get screwed, but Barr wouldn’t have to hang out any DOJ dirty laundry, because, well, the DOJ’s reputation is more important than any one American citizen, right? Big mistake! He failed to deal with corruption staring him in the face and got burned twice, once by Zelinsky et al and the other by POTUS’ veiled do your job and I’ll continue tweeting, thank you…

Barr brushed off what the prosecutors did as overzealous yet considered Trump’s tweets undercutting him.

Same thing happening with Flynn case. Shea signed off on Van Grack motion. Looks like Barr wants judge to deny withdrawal and give light sentence. Expedience over justice Runs the risk of backfire if Flynn can’t be bullied to roll over and just take the nice plea deal instead of fighting for his integrity.

Barr gave an interesting talk about justice. He felt it was about outcomes being more important than process. Weird- that’s how Comey thinks as judge, jury, and investigator..

  5. Nope … I don’t think that this is at all “what Mr. Barr intended to say,” but I am rather morbidly amused to watch Swamp Rats like McConnell too-quickly seize upon it.

Whether old-folks like him comprehend it or not, “social media is a present and forever-future fact of political life.” Obviously, “old-folks like him” don’t comprehend it at all. They wish that it was 1996 again. So they too-quickly see Barr’s negative comments as somehow being aligned with their own.

However, as usual, the reality is far more … ahem … “actually, obvious.”

No, this is not the end of “social media,” like it or not. It might or might not promise a refinement as to precisely how this very potent weapon is now used. But the weapon itself, like or not, is here to stay.

People on our side, and those who pretend to be on our side, have been whining about POTUS’s tweets since day one. While some of his tweets seem reckless at the time they are strategic and purposeful. They have shined the light on many a cockroach, caused many swamp rats and traitors to out themselves, secretly signaled to the aforementioned that he knows and he’s coming for them (“Obama tapped my wires”), and cause so many to walk right into well laid traps. And hey, when the tweets don’t fit into any of these categories, his masterful trolling of the enemy causes them to lose their shit and destroy themselves, while providing much needed entertainment for his supporters. But, but, but, it’s not presid-eeeeential. GOOD. He has been very, very effective. I fear that today’s events might be a coordinated swamp attack to get him to lay down one of his key weapons in that effectiveness. Speaking of not presidential, I can’t believe he tweeted this gem, LOL:

    No Tweets? No problem.

Issue policy directives to DoJ to put heavy emphasis on investigating and prosecuting violations of civil rights by LEOs and other government officials (from local to federal, executive, legislative, and judicial), Require them to put focus on their own house (current / prior employees first)… after all, the public perception and confidence in the DoJ / FBI is at risk here. If it’s been in the news they shall investigate and prosecute.

Second policy – investigate and if laws were broken all appearances of impropriety. As above, local through federal, all branches. If you a public official and your friends and relatives have amazing ‘luck’ financially, you will be looked into. Again, focus on those at the highest echelons, and if it’s in the news and verifiable…

Third – Anyone with a security clearance will be held to the same standards as the most junior enlisted man – go badmouthing America in a bar or on TV, have problems with debts, have moral / ethical issues (such as being ‘candid’) you will have your clearance suspended pending being vetted by new investigation. As above, the biggest an loudest will fall first.

And a tip line for the small town deputy shaking down yutes with broken tail lights for ‘cash fines’ …

What I think is going on is Trump has been conditioned to not trust any of his supposed allies. It feels like he has been burned by about half of all his more important appointees. I think he can trust Barr, and frankly, I think he can trust McConnell. So since Trump is a bull in a china shop, which is what helps him rack up wins against all odds, he feels he has to push them harder and harder via his public comments and twitter.

People like Barr and McConnell feel like they know how to get things done their way under the radar, and think the pushing creates unnecessary attention. They want Trump to trust them and just play ball, and Trump thinks that if he doesn’t push them around, they will stab him in the back. He has reason to think this way, but again, I really think Barr and McConnell are allies.

I think Trump should have dinner with McConnell and Barr, bring Mark Meadows along and just have a discussion. My instinct is that they are trying to help him. Say what you want about Mitch, but he doesn’t want socialism anymore than we do, he may not do things the way we would like, but he does get results in his own way.

And YES I agree that the MAJORITY of posters on CTH are sick and tired as to why nothing is happening with regards to prosecutions!!!!! NO PROSECUTIONS!!!!!! But we have to sit still and watch Stone go to jail for 9 years?

And read about the 40 FBI agents, and the Mueller cabal still working against Trump and the NSC cabal INSIDE THE WH!! And now the DOJ cabal of lawyers and corrupt bureaucrats that put party before country because Trump is not a member of the country club of corruption? Yet NO ONE HAS GONE TO JAIL! NO ONE??? Late Spring Barr should be ashamed of himself, don’t project on the President, blame yourself and those around you whom you adore (Rosenstein etc.). I don’t think this is a big deal. A little perceived separation between the president and Barr is probably good for both of them. It blunts that assertion that there’s some sort of unseemly coordination – or whatever nonsensical proposition the libs are pushing lately. Regular people know that most DC veterans maintain a veneer of decorum and Trump doesn’t – and that’s fine.

Ok, let’s take the 180 degree opposite of Trump not tweeting anything. Would DC then self evaluate and self correct? Well, that’s a multi decade NO. Barr said Trump makes it impossible for him to do his job. I wonder if Barr’s “job” is to sweep and do a DC covering action. In which case, Trump tweets do make it hard for Barr to do his “job”.

CTH and Lou Dobbs contributed yugely, but most likely the main reason that Jessie Liu was pulled and the 4 prosecuters resigned from the Stone case was because of Trump tweets. His tweets most likely force DC to look in the mirror. They don’t like it.

It’s unclear what McConnell’s intention was in butting in on this issue. He could be honestly trying to help Trump by advising him to cool his jets a bit. Take some of the emotion out.

But, here’s the thing with McConnell and somewhere between 50 and 75% of ALL republicans in Congress. Republicans were, at one time, the party of law and order, love of country, honesty and decentness. Now, today, the fake republicans just stand by, idly, mute, unable to conger up one whit of outrage over what has been done to Trump. It’s pretty clear, the “republicans don’t give one shit about America, about our future, about us or our families. They obviously care only about themselves and what they can scam out of the system using laws they’ve crafted to benefit themselves and all the ingenious ways they’ve figured out to launder money into their pockets. What’s wwrong with Obama’s $50mil book deal from a bankrupt publisher, right? Hey, as long as you can get away with it, it’s all good.

I think I can count on one hand the republicans who have had the guts to say the Hillary email investigation was a joke, the democrats obviously illegally spied on the Trump campaign, Mueller was a an attempted coup, the administrative state in alliance with media, Brookings, and corrupt House democrats then tried it again with the most transparent attack ever conceived by a moron. and the DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. And then after all that the republicans thought, oh yeah, we need to have a trial and let dems attack trump for two solid weeks with saturation media coverage. That’s the right thing to do. Sickening.

And whats even worse, it looks like the republicans, likely including Mitch, were in on the whole coup thing. What was an enormous joke was the useless Senate Intel report on Trump Russia.

Just unbelievable what you corrupt pieces of absolute shit have done to this country. Hillary had nothing on any of you, because all of you are just as bad as her. You’re equal crap. All of you sicken me and any honest politician, assuming that isn’t a complete oxymoron, should quit out of the dishonor of serving alongside republican gangsters. Did your mom and dad teach you that ignoring corrupt colleagues is okay? Mine taught me to have the courage and decency to call out the corrupt. You dont need a 500 page report from DOJ to “know” what’s going on.

Trump is our president. We elected him in a fair election and by God as long as there’s breath in my body you indecent, you wholly corrupt, you useless boils on the country will not remove him. Sen. Schemer mentioned that PDJT should be on the look-out for ‘six ways’ that could do him in . . .

1). The Media: started early in the campaign and thought they really had him with the October surprise of the Billy Bush audio. Still on-going. Repeat. Repeat. RepeT.

2). The DNC: immediately began to raise doubts that the election was accurately counted and entertained Hillary’s zillion reasons ‘What Happened’. Trying to buy this election with Mini-Mike ‘throwing the ele…Scrabble game’.

3). The Obama IC: ran spying operations, manufactured collusion with Russians, infiltrated the Trump campaign/transition team, tried to exonerate selves with actions as the were slinking out the door of the White House.

4). The Special Counsel Investigation: Mueller played for the fool he is to attempt a regurgitation of Watergate; his handlers failed stupendously despite their belief that they are the smartest people, ever.

5). The Ukraine Impeachment: the House of Representatives ‘special’ committees floundered through a flawed process in order to arrive at a trial so completely outclassed by the President’s team of lawyers, it made the voters of those representatives appear to be not so bright.

6). Return of Chucky? Is it the Senate’s turn, now? The Big Club ready to make it’s move? The Elites going to tell us all what’s best for us underlings? The Keepers of the Crypt Keys, passed down from generation to generation of political terrorists?

Is McConnell going to the dark side? Or will he keep his head slightly out from under his shell by ‘just’ allowing a vote to censure take place?

Meanwhile, our VSGPDJT could let things stew for a week or so, invite Nancy to an Ash Wednesday service and proclaim he is giving up tweeting for lent, and he expects Nancy will give up her habit he dislikes the worse, and give that on-going ‘way #1).’ something to speculate on for 40 days . . .

Trump hasn’t been treated like any other politician. The media attack him 24/7 so he uses twitter to defend himself because that’s the only means to do so.

When they “interview” him is mostly entrapment and gotcha questions to smear him and keep him defending himself from absurd accusations.

Totally Agree!! The media twist words and spin interpretations to always belittle and demean President Trump, and ignore his superior achievements but he withstands it.

President Trump is a strong man, good man who has been doing the realpolitic business of governing of the USA with dignity and duty and Presidential Style, all while the petty attacks and deceitful sabotage by the communist democrats have been raging.

This hatefulness, is gleefully helped by the corporate media howling harlots throwing gasoline on any fire of controversy they can find, or make up,

President Trump’s leadership instincts have been forged in this Unique and Historic Time of pillaging and ravaging of American government and citizenship, and now for the battle royale,

Pray for America, Pray for President Trump. MAGA Always.

POTUS wouldn’t have to tweet if we had an honest media to report on facts.

However he is constantly under attack, MSM invents stories to destroy him, the only way he has to communicate is Twitter.

Showbiz, Social Media and MSM are all attacking him 24/7

When he is interviewed by the swamp media is nothing but condescending questions about hoaxes for sensationalism.

        Sporty,

If you mean to say the Old Southern Proverb is BS, then I would venture it’s fair to say you’ve never owned a business and discovered you were paying some sumbitch who was standin’ around doin’ nothin’ while you paid him. That can be very aggravating because in small business the employees get paid before the boss does.

This illustrious person is typically discovered when one walks out the back door and finds him leaning on a building or a car or a stack of pallets. It is never surprising to hear “the Local President of the Leaner’s Union” bellyaching about how The Boss — The Boss! — is keepin’ him from doin’ his job!

It’s always interesting to me to note who does not understand a given Proverb, especially in older years. It’s a pretty fair sign they don’t live in the same universe I do. I find these types are best avoided if possible. That’s why Southerners use quaint, dumb-sounding BS sayings. It’s like waving at everybody as we drive by. The guy who doesn’t wave is watched, checked-out, etc.

A good dog flushes quail. (Actually, even a bad dog will flush quail, but a good one will when do it you’re nearby with your bird gun.) Anyway, same thing.

So, if you think the Old Southern Proverb is BS, then we will just say that you don’t understand the Old Southern Proverb since you’ve clearly said so. No problem. Most people don’t fully understand the lean/clean quip either, until they are the ones paying the leaner.

One thing about Old Proverbs, people saying the Old Proverbs are BS always shine as great examples of discretion being the better part of valor. (That’s another Old Proverb Daddy used as a gentle way of telling us to shut up, and at the end of his life as a way of encouraging us we “needed to say what need’s sayin’ before we run out of time, son.”)

I’ve only had two rules: Do all you can and do it the best you can. It’s the only way you ever get that feeling of accomplishing something.

If you’ve got time to lean, you’ve got time to clean.

To be diplomatic, Barr should have said that he ignores what he hears from the media/social media. Including the Trump tweets.

That he is immune to political gamesmanship from either side and that he only deals with facts, details, evidence as it is uncovered. And as a highly important government functionary it is part of his professional duty to be judicious and objective.

But he let emotion dictate his comments.

He knows full well the political dynamic, and that the Lawfare and House partisans listen to every word, study every expression, parse each sentence to start the next impeachment narrative.

A little self discipline would have prevented this needless distraction.

None of the prognostications about what he really implied would be necessary. In his role. It is very disappointing to see that lack of diplomacy and self control. He full well knows that his boss is under constant siege.

Even if not a ‘wingman’ or part of the Presidential inner circle he should make every public appearance and statement purely about the law, not letting irritation turn it personal.

Unless he intended to stir up a storm with this public comment.

You ever take the lid of the pan off the popping popcorn and then try to get all the popcorn back in the pan while it is exploding all over the place? The Swamp is trying to get the popcorn back in the pan.

What the “establishment” or “Deep State” fails to realize is that the genie is already out of the bottle. The deception, corruption, and lies have been laid bare. Efforts to go on cable news and spin narratives and lies fall on deaf ears. It is a waste of time for them and just validates their membership in the Swamp to America. The question is – and what the American people are watching very closely – is what are they going to do about the blatant lawlessness, the two-tiered justice being meted out, the corruption tentacles running a triangle from the executive agencies to the Congress to the media, and the in-your-face inequality under the law?

Unfortunately, the complicit media has compounded the problem…not alleviated it. In 2020, they cannot lie anymore and get away with it. They cannot cover up crimes and corruption and get away with it. They cannot spin BS and get away with it. Like the Mullahs in Iran, modern communication is becoming the Great Equalizer by acting as the sunlight required and desperately needed – as all Americans are finding out to our utter astonishment.

Bondo Barr surely knows by now he is in a corner and he MUST deliver justice or we do not have a free America. The song-and-dance and the desperate attempts to put a lid on that popcorn are failing. Verily I say to you, Mr. Barr, you cannot espouse the law and oversee lawbreaking. We are going on 4 years…

And Sundance’s wit is unparalleled. Human Cabbage Patch doll indeed. LOL.

You speak truth to power. Barr is definitely backed into a corner. Late Spring Barr’s job appears to be to slow walk all of these prosecutions as long as possible or until the SOL’s run out. However Trump is making that impossible. Barr is right, Trump’s tweets make it impossible for him to do his job.

President Trump keeps getting out ahead of their next coup plot.

They say “He needs to wait it out and let things develop”. This is how they boxed President Bush in with the Valerie Plame railroad job. In the end, Bush commuted Scooter Libby who was fully exonerated years later, but the political damage was done.

Even so, the political lesson for conservatives is to get out ahead of the narrative. If you let the left set the narrative, you have to live under a false reality that will have political costs.

Bush let them make up a story and they bolstered it with anonymous leaks. Trump has had to deal with the Russia narrative because he wasn’t in a position of power to squash it in its infancy.
