I expect everyone realizes that if they call witnesses, and Biden is called, his campaign is over, not because he will admit anything, but because his lawyers will insist that he plead the Fifth to every question, and his campaign cannot survive that.

Fifth or not, Biden and his family would not survive this – because they have to much on them already.

In a normal world I would agree. But since the Democratic senator can literally drive his car off a bridge into the ocean and drown a young woman in the backseat, and not only never spend the day in jail to continue on with the successful political career for the next forty years I’d say he would have nothing to worry about.

That dress and its proof broke the clintons back.] President Trump is well within his right to do the same ; and he would win.

Both McCain and Romney absorbed malicious belittlement from Barack Obama with nothing more than a weak grimace. Not sure what McCain’s problem was. I would expect more from one with a warrior background. Romney appears to be nothing but an ego wind sock. His meek response was expected.

McCain’s problem was he was dirty and Obama knew it. This is why McCain put up zero fight to win in 2008. He fakes running, Obama looks the other way, and McStain keeps doing the illegal crap he did. He profited from gun running and wars. That’s all McStain cared about.

McCain was a highly placed mole in the Republican party. He sold out in the 80’s during the Keating 5 scandal. McCain actually wanted to switch parties after the 2000 primaries, but Senator Kennedy wouldn’t allow McCain to keep his seniority, so McCain remained in the Republican party, but was always available to work with Democrats.

Both Romney and McCain are Establishment Uniparty (as are most Rs, though most are not as obvious about it) and as such, they must play the R role in the joint Uniparty project: The Fleecing of the American Taxpayer.” The Uniparty R role is most often to lose elections to Democrats, or at least to lose enough elections to remain the minority party – which is one reason why Rs never contest any Dem voter fraud. Uniparty R’s have a nice easy life because, as losers/minority, they are never going to be held accountable for “doing something” as they can always say “if only we’d had more money/enough votes!” It’s also quite lucrative on the (corrupt) personal level. If Romney had been elected President by some fluke, he would probably have been shocked and dismayed, but he still wouldn’t have “done” anything, as the same Wall Street/Deep State lobbyists/corrupt-o-crats would have run his administration that have run all administrations going back to at least Bush 1.

Once you realize that Uniparty Rs aren’t really trying to “win” or “beat the Dems,” but instead are just play a role for the cameras in order to fleece more $ from us, the American taxpayer, all this otherwise unexplainable behavior suddenly makes complete sense.

    SERIOUSLY – WOW

Vindman’s Twin Brother in Charge of NSC’s Process Reviewing Book Approvals
by Cristina Laila January 27, 2020

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman’s identical twin brother Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a senior ethics lawyer for the NatSec Council is in charge of reviewing book approvals, according to sources who spoke to Breitbart News.

Recall, Alexander Vindman, who leaked Trump’s call to the whistleblower because he disagreed with Trump’s foreign policy, showed up to testify in the House hearings against Trump in his uniform.

Vindman testified that his twin brother witnessed Trump officials move the transcript of Trump’s call to Zelensky to a top-secret server.

Barack Obama also used this same top-secret server to secure transcripts of his calls to foreign leaders and nobody cared. It’s only a scandal when Trump does it.

Breitbart reported that Yevgeny Vindman would have been in charge of the book manuscript submitted to the NatSec last month by former NatSec Advisor John Bolton.

A source close to the Trump administration informs Breitbart News that Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a senior ethics lawyer for the National Security Council (NSC), is in charge of reviewing all publications by current and former NSC officials.

The official added that Yevgeny Vindman could have seen former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s draft manuscript after it was submitted for prepublication review at the end of December.

The review is a standard process that allows the NSC to review book manuscripts, op-eds, or any other material for any classified material to be eliminated before publication.

Anonymous sources conveniently leaked to the New York Times claiming former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s book manuscript accused President Trump of tying Ukraine aid to Biden investigations.

Bolton’s team pushed back in a statement Sunday night and said, “It is clear, regrettably, from The New York Times article published today that the prepublication review process has been corrupted.”

Bolton on Monday also denied coordinating with the New York Times.

“Ambassador John Bolton, Simon & Schuster, and Javelin Literary categorically state that there was absolutely no coordination with the New York Times or anyone else regarding the appearance of information about his book, THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENED, at online booksellers. Any assertion to the contrary is unfounded speculation,” John Bolton’s aide Sarah Tinsley said in a statement posted to Twitter.

Why are the Vindmans still employed at the NatSec??

Why is Eric Ciaramella still working at the CIA?

Philbins’ argument is exactly why this needs to be taken from the Senate and sent strait to SCOTUS. The constitution assigns to the Senate the duty to try constitutionally framed articles of impeachment. Going through this exercise from an unconstitutionally framed impeachment provides license and precedent for more of the same and it is ….UNCONSTITIONAL!!! Exoneration after this Shift show only puts a shine on a rotten apple and opens the door to being delivered more rotten apples.

I wonder if SCOTUS would rule on the conflict between House Impeachment rules and for example “due process”?

SCOTUS has already ruled on Senate Impeachment trial rules in (Judge) Nixon v United States:
” A unanimous Court held that the question of whether or not the Senate rule violated the U.S. Constitution was nonjusticiable since the Impeachment clause expressly granted that the “Senate shall have sole Power to try any impeachments.” The clause laid out specific regulations that were to be followed and as long as those guidelines were observed the courts would not rule upon the validity of other Senate procedures regarding impeachments.”

While I don’t do these types of investigations, Schiff reminds me of a particular individual who would always choose to argue over violations. I loved his arguments, as I would simply cut and paste a section of his argument that proved my violation was valid and be done with it.
