Just imagine how difficult it would be to force Congress critters to do the right thing, if there were term limits. As corrupt as they are now, it would be a thousand times worse if there were no more voters to answer to.

Of course, massive election fraud also de-incentivizes politicians who know they will be *installed* without votes. We need to remedy that situation, and fast, before the next election cycle.

  4. Important to remember: Horowitz’s Big Lie about “no evidence of bias” wasn’t made to protect Comey, Brennan or even Lynch–it was made to provide plausible deniability to Madame Tussaud and Chocolate Pharaoh.

    “It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up. And the Well-Creased Pant-Leg.”

    • joeknuckles says:

You just did it right there. Horowitz didn’t say “no evidence of bias”. He said “no testimonial or documentary evidence of bias”. Funny how nobody has asked him if there is any circumstantial evidence of bias. I think the answer would have to be yes, there is.

      • I’m just agreeing with Barr and Durham dissents. Yes–“no evidence” is very different from “no bias”. But Horowitz asked the plotters if they were biased. They said “No.” He then looked for an email from Sedition HQ to all employees: “Hey, everybody, let’s overthrow the government!” Didn’t find that either.

So he says “no testimonial or documentary evidence of bias”. knowing full well how it will be taken and used by Gaylord and Granny to hide behind. Hack.

And to protect all the other perpetrators of illegal, unconstitutional political spying which is arguably exonerated by the fraudulently-obtained FISA Warrant, which goes back in time to cover the previously illegal spying. And to protect the DOJ from civil suits from those thousands+ of illegally spied on by 2-hopping, by the fraudulently-obtained FISA Warrant.

If IG clouseau-horowitz and his bumbling 400 merry investigators officially declared “bias”, the FISC would be under even more pressure to withdraw its fraudulently-obtained political spy warrant.

The FISC, of course is complicit in this scam (like all deep staters, the Star Chamber FISC surely expected hillary would win, and their participation in political spying and refusal of their primary responsibility to protect Constitutional Civil Rights, would continue to be hidden).

Note the applicability of 18 USC 242 to judges, from the Department of Justice website:
“Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.
For the purpose of Section 242, acts under “color of law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official’s lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.

The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any.”

I’m sure that the DOJ will start an investigation if the FISC right away for issuing an illegal warrant, and then continuing the denial of civil rights by wilfully not cleaning up their mess by withdrawing the warrant and disciplining those who withheld and lied to get it. /s

I am reminded of Kurt Vonnegut’s “Harrison Bergeron,” a short satire that portrays a society in which excellence is discouraged, where actually, it’s punished, a society in which “Everyone is equal every which way.” Those who are indeed above average must bear handicaps to make them “equal.”

The narrator describes a particular news show in which the picture is sideways or upside down because the cameramen are either incompetent or because they’ve been made to wear handicaps that are so burdensome they can’t do their jobs properlyl

The argument for holding a trial in the Senate, a position Steve Bannon takes, is that the opportunity can be taken to exonerate the president, not just to aquit him. And Mitch McConnell says that a trial must be held.

But then there is this from Joel Pollak as the counterargument:

….. Moreover, after arguing — correctly — that neither of the two articles of impeachment actually state an impeachable offense, Republicans risk creating a dangerous precedent if they validate either article with a trial. The Supreme Court has already destroyed the basis of the second article, “obstruction of Congress,” by agreeing Friday to hear two White House appeals of congressional subpoenas, thus validating the president’s so-called “obstruction.”

As for the first article, alleging “abuse of power,” there is no precedent for impeaching the president on that basis without any underlying crime ever being alleged. Even the radical Republicans who impeached President Andrew Johnson in 1868 on a similar basis contrived to have him violate some federal statute, however unconstitutional. By holding a Senate trial on a non-impeachable basis, Republicans risk validating what House Democrats have done. …….

Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams makes the point that a majority of voters already understand that the Democrats are perpetrating a sham impeachment strictly for political purposes. From this perspective, the president has already won the argument as it might apply to the public’s perception of his innocence or guilt.

According to Adams, to hold a full blown Senate trial knowing that the voting public already understands there is no basis for impeachment is selling after the sale, something that highly effective salesmen never do because it opens up the transaction for more questions that might cause the sale to fall through.

So ….. How do you hold a Senate trial without holding a trial?

The constitutional legalities have to be further examined, but is it possible that the equivalent of a pre-trial hearing could be held in a Senate committee where the president’s team requests and is granted a summary dismissal of the articles of impeachment?

Would doing it this way, using what amounts to a pre-trial hearing, set its own precedent for how the Senate handles sham impeachments passed in the House of Representatives?

The FBI and CIA came later and were just more steps in the gradual accumulation of Federal power and the erosion of our freedom..

      A timeline is helpful:

In December 2015, Carter Page said he sent an email to Corey Lewandowski asking to be part of the Trump campaign.

In late March 2016 he was officially named a foreign policy advisor.

In April 2016 he traveled to Moscow..

In May or June 2016 Stefan Halper invited him to Cambridge,

This was all brewing in the first half of 2016. It’s not surprising at all that Page was a target (or a plant for those of you who think he is not a victim) and Comey was talking about him by July 2016. I would have to review the IG report to see at what point the FBI became “suspicious” (i.e., realized they could use Page to get at Trump), but certainly by the time Halper got involved the plan was in the works.

        I’ll add to that.

In the first week of April 2016 the FBI field office in NY opened a counterintelligence operation on Carter Page or being in contact with Russians. They were advised he was a CIA asset.

Witness the response to inquiring about Biden’s threatened withholding of a loan guarantee. Anything – and I mean ANYTHING – will be cast as affecting the election.

Another article about bipartisanship and his great interview on Corrupt News Network where he solemnly got a softball interview from a known lying talking head.
This is the dishonesty that needs to be stopped. I replied about how lame he was NOT to even mention Trumps name. Called out his lying leader Schiftless, lying news network, and his failed attempt at bipartisanship.
This district was republican for 60 years until the last one simply gave up to the current trust fund baby that voted for house bill HR 5. More dishonesty in that bill which I hope never passes the senate. It basically says that schools can’t discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual identity, blah blah, even if you know the claim to be inaccurate. “(2) GENDER IDENTITY.—The term ‘gender identity’ means the gender-related identity, appearance, mannerisms, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, regardless of the individual’s designated sex at birth.” So, a guy can dress like a guy and claim he’s a girl and everyone knows he’s a guy, but can’t be stopped from using the girls locker room. The next impeachment articles will include treasonous abuse of power, for the sole purpose of influencing the 2020 election. While going against all political norms, President Trump makes a mockery of the US political system with an obvious ploy to smear his political opponents through manipulation, and coercion of several allies through fair and balanced trade deals. If the keeping of political promises is allowed to continue unchecked I fear the unwashed masses will expect every politician to do the same.
