That’s interesting speculation. What’s important is that some conservatism/nationalism got its foot in the door. Look at what the left has done to our country by getting its foot in the door in education and the media. They’re on the brink of totalitarian victory.

I decided to just spot fact-check a few of the claims in that Spectator article.

      Claim:

Encouraging British embassies to fly the LGTB flag was among his first pronouncements as Foreign Secretary.

      Reality:

The foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, has lifted a ban on UK embassies and high commissions flying the rainbow flag during gay pride events. […] The decision on whether and when to raise the gay pride banner will be for individual ambassadors and high commissioners, taking into account local conditions. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/aug/05/boris-johnson-lifts-ban-on-uk-embassies-flying-gay-pride-rainbow-flag

Lifting a ban is not “encouraging”.

      Claim:

He did nothing to seriously address the global persecution of Christians. Indeed, his only words of ecumenical wisdom seem to be that: ‘Most religions… require a belief in all sorts of more or less peculiar things’.

      Reality (his own words):

I have been asked to say something more in favour of gay marriage – and I do so gladly, because frankly I can’t see what the fuss is about. A couple of years ago someone asked whether I supported the idea and I was a bit flummoxed, because I thought it was already legal. It is one thing for religious leaders to object, and they are absolutely entitled to their point of view. There is no call for gay marriage to be politically imposed on churches or mosques or any other religious institutions – or, if there is such a call, it is emphatically not one I would support. Most religions, if strictly adhered to, require a belief in all sorts of more or less peculiar things –dietary, moral, metaphysical or whatever. But that’s fine. That’s the privilege of faith, and faith consoles billions of people around the world and helps to give meaning to our lives.
      https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/aug/05/boris-johnson-lifts-ban-on-uk-embassies-flying-gay-pride-rainbow-flag

His comment had nothing to do with the global persecution of Christians, it was about gay marriage.

Is the rest of the Spectator article as flawed? If so, then it’s nothing more than a fake news hit piece, like we see so often about Trump. And I’m not even a Boris Johnson fan, I actually dislike him.

      Brexit, absolutely.
I am in the UK at the moment and I know hard core labour voters who voted Tory for the first time ever so that they can leave to EU.
Corbin turned his back on millions of labour voters who voted to leave the EU. Jo Swinton of the Lib Dems promised to ignore the referendum and lost her seat.
People here don’t seem to care much about Corbin’s views on Israel. It’s a nothing burger.

At the very least, it is a change from the current progressive charge further left. Time will tell what sort of leader Mr. Johnson will be. There will eventually be another election and opportunity for Britains to affect their future.

In my very personal opinion, any defeat of progressive agendas is a good day.

The only thing we are sure of is our President Trump and our Freedom Caucus in the House. We are sure of your Nigel Farage. Perhaps Britain should have him warming up in the bull pen. Free people not going to go for assaults on democracy – and this is a common truth between our nations and truth will prevail.

NYC is much too influential in our elections but it always has been. Wouldn’t it be nice if we split the state like so many of us would like? Problem is it would be better to make the cities their own state and leave the rest to make us a new state with some fiscal sense and freedom. Lol, one of my long time wishes since I cannot leave here for awhile unfortunately. Maybe someday the backlash from Albany’s dictatorship will change the minds of voters in NYS. One can only hope.

    • This whole thing makes me very angry for the non-citizens involved! We’re completely ignoring our 13th Amendment in many ways. We have a group of people who are never offered the opportunity to be “legal,” so that they instead might be slaves. And, we have another group of people who are here on “non-immigrant visas” which place them in conditions of peonage and involuntary servitude. And yet, because it is convenient for business, no one does anything. “The Peculiar Institution” is indeed alive and well in 21st Century America, and nothing enacted in 1865 has any real effect against it.

Look just south of the Border and you see something extremely ugly: international human trafficking. These are not “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” And it is our laws which make it possible.

I also hear from so many from so many countries that are in the process of their legal immigration paperwork and test who are so excited because they have almost completed the process and for some it has taken years, and a lot of money and sacrifice for their families to make sure that it done legally.

When someone resorts to screaming, yelling, insults…and that is in ANY situation, it is best to realize that they are not listening..so walk away. Their red hot anger has taken over…nothing is going to get through.

Example…..take 2 parents. One is a yeller and a screamer….after awhile the kid just tunes that parent out. Now, the parent who is the one who is quiet, never yells…..when that parent says something…..you listened and did what you were told.

Example 2—an employee who gripes about EVERYTHING…you just tune them out on everything. When you have an employee who never complains…when they do make a complaint/point….people listen.

I have said repeatedly, if we gave away the Senate majority too Trump would have been removed from office already, and then what would we do? We need to strip all power away from the Democrats, and the only way to do that is to vote straight GOP in the general elections. And NEVER let a Democrat run unopposed, even if you can’t campaign for office throw your hat in and let conservatives have a GOP candidate to vote for. We have allowed the Democrats to wreak havoc and we need to stop.

The most egregious part of it that I can see is that it requires the voter actually to cast a ballot for someone for whom the voter does NOT want to see elected. It is coercion and on its face contrary to the freedom to vote. I think it’s very similar to the ObamaScare tax in a way.

So to summarize again” there is no actual, enforceable deal. There is only a “deal” for public consumption, one that indicates both sides have promised to make unenforceable concessions, with no new tariffs imposed and Trump cutting the Sept 2019 tariffs in half from 15% to 7.5%.

Meanwhile, Trump has already hinted how he will levitate the market for the next year – by danging hope that Phase 2 is going great and will be completed any minute, even though China denied, saying that:

NEGOTIATIONS FOR PHASE TWO DEAL TO DEPEND ON IMPLEMENTATION OF PHASE ONE DEAL – CHINA VICE FINANCE MINISTER

So yes, anything to get stocks higher.

“There is no way a war would be fought against the most powerful military in modern history”. This statement assumes that military would remain intact. I do not believe it would, I believe it would fracture, pick sides. That military is no longer the US military, it is, in the least, 2 or more warring militaries, pitted against each other. National guards and local police forces would also pick sides. That is all.

The Marxist left did not charge the President with collusion. They intended that collusion to lead to treason and the death penalty. Yes it was an attempt at a volent overthrow of our country. It they had managed to make the treason charges stick then the President would have been forcebly removed from office and put in prison for treason and if found guilty killed. Whether under the color of law or not it is all the same. All coups are done under color of law. And the removal of the President would have been sudden and violent. How else would you describe arresting him and subsequently killing him under color of law. |

Now ask yourself, exactly why did Barr reinstate the Fed Death Penalty? When we’ve seen ZERO repercussions for the endless Traitorous/ Seditious/ Treasonous CRIMES by Leftist & RINOs being consistently exposed the past 3 years.

Don’t forget, Barr is the ONLY reason the Mueller Report was made public against existing Law, thus able to be passed off to the House for Phase 3– Impeachment. 🤨

And there’s no logical or emotional argument that will shake the Left from its religious zeal for communism. If they cannot gain supremacy by elections or judicial fiat then it’ll be war.

Actually, this is a huge problem. For years I have been hearing that “the USA is behind on education”…and I was confused as to what standardized tests showing our low scores compared to other countries. It isn’t…

The USA is ‘behind’ because “only 6% of the graduating seniors from High School are choosing STEM fields.” China is 98%. Russia is also in the 90’s. People are alarmed that our technological future is in the hands of other countries.

The field of Engineering from a POV of the employer is not looking well. The workforce is aging and the candidates are being scooped up at the moment with this booming economy. The requirements of GPA and training that most of these companies have placed on the potential candidates is shrinking the available pool to the point that there are many open positions going unfilled. Retirees are being brought back on short term contract to fill in the holes but this is a very short term solution.

Getting people to chose STEM fields is actually getting harder and harder!

If anyone is interested you can get an overview of this First Step Act here: https://www.bop.gov/inmates/fsa/overview.jsp

There are many offenses which are ineligible, including illegals here incarcerated here in the US. There are many rules for the eligibility and it’s not a get out of jail free, you have to earn points. President Trump has been very proud of this bill. It’s a shame you’re giving it such a bad rap. This is the first paragraph on the overview:

On December 21, 2018, President Trump signed into law the First Step Act (FSA) of 2018 (P.L. 115- 391). The act was the culmination of a bi-partisan effort to improve criminal justice outcomes, as well as to reduce the size of the federal prison population while also creating mechanisms to maintain public safety.

“Mos Eisley spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.” – Obi Wan Kenobi from the original Star Wars trilogy. Replace “Mos Eisley Spaceport” with “Congress” and we get what’s going on in Washington D.C. today.

The House Democrats are a total disgrace to America with this impeachment sham. Where is the due process?! You can’t impeach a president simply because you don’t like him and that a preferred candidate (in their case, Crooked Hillary) didn’t win. That picture of the coastal elites from CA and NY (plus 1 from MA) is why the Electoral College is put in place. Two states don’t get to rule over the other 48!

Where’s the proof Trump committed a crime? WHERE IS IT?! Instead, Pelosi, Nadler, and the rest are just making things up. Tired of hearing “Russia interfered in the 2016 election” as if they’re the only country to do so. What about the illegal aliens from Mexico and other countries voting in US elections? Maybe there was foreign interference in the 2018 midterms too? Dems and their media allies don’t care about foreign interference unless it affects them negativity.

We know where the crazed, unpatriotic, Anti-American scum like Schift, Nadler, Pelosi, Waters, Al Green (the corrupt congressman from TX, not the talented soul singer from the 70s), and the four horsewomen of the Apocalypse known as the “Squad” stand on impeachment. What about the so-called moderates in Trump districts? Will they do the right thing, or will they be subordinate to Pelosi (and by extension, Hillary, Obama, and Soros) and do what they are told? What about Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hi), one of the Dems running for president whose currently in the House, that some conservatives (like Tucker Carlson) admire? She claims to have an independent streak but has been wobbly on this issue. We know where Crazy Bernie, Pocahontas Warren, Booker, and Kamala (who dropped out recently), stand. Will Tulsi do the right thing and vote to oppose this impeachment sham or is party loyalty more important to her? Most of the American people (including several Democrat voters) are AGAINST impeachment!

As much as I would like to see this impeachment drama end quickly as there is no basis for it, let it all out at the Senate trail. Have them all testify under oath: Biden and his son, Brennan, Comey, Bug-eyed Schiff, etc. The President deserves due process. Real life reality TV. No more cover-ups! I don’t trust Lindsay Graham or Mitch McConnell, as they must be covering up something as well. I only trust the President and a few others in Congress. Dems always stick together, although Manchin (WV) and perhaps a few others might break ranks with sleazy Schumer and vote against impeachment. On the GOP side, Susan Collins might come around but I don’t trust that snake Romney or that woman from Alaska (Murkowski). Good thing that dead scumbag from Arizona (I refuse to mention him by name) isn’t around as he would have voted in favor of impeaching Trump. Can the Supreme Court nullify Trump’s impeachment? But then again, I don’t trust Chief Justice John Roberts. The swamp protects the swamp

Anyone who votes for this impeachment (that includes Republicans and so-called independents) needs to be publicly shamed. In 2020, let the voters decide the President’s fate (hopefully they chose wisely) in the ballot box, not a bunch of corrupted, partisan bureaucrats that still can’t get over 2016. So tired of all this nonsense. They all make me sick.

P.S. – I keep seeing Michael Bloomberg ads on local TV here in Chicagoland. Will enough people be fooled by this guy? Considering how leftward the Democrat party has gotten, he’s not crazy enough for them and won’t be their nominee.

Or even if they did watch the full interview I hope they watch this. Barr is very careful with his words, it’s important to listen to everything he says. He knows what the traitors did, but in order to indict he needs proof beyond reasonable doubt that they committed documented crimes. That might not be easy, and as he said it takes time to investigate. We’ll see in the end. I’m optimistic.

FTA – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump clinched their 50th circuit court judge in just three years on Wednesday, only five short of President Barack Obama’s record over an eight-year period. And McConnell isn’t done yet.

Now that he’s filled virtually every vacancy in the powerful appellate court system, the Senate majority leader will try and cram through 18 lower-level lifetime judges next week, some of them supported by Democrats.
