Wakey Wakey – Exit Polls Show Landslide Conservative Boris Johnson Win in U.K. Elections – Open Discussion Thread….

A “landslide”, a complete “wipe-out”, a “massive victory” appears looming for Boris Johnson and the conservative party in the U.K. if exit polls are accurate.

These blowout results guarantee a faster Brexit from the European Union and the leftist labor party in the U.K. has been crushed.  Conservatives look to have picked up 50 seats and Labor has lost 71 seats; the Scottish National Party (SNP) has picked up 20.

The “Remainers” in the U.K. have been decimated, and the voters who want to “Leave” the EU have fueled a massive victory for Boris Johnson.  Liberal heads are blown-out, bigly.

(Via Daily Mail) Boris Johnson hailed his new blue-collar Tory army tonight as it emerged he is on track to secure a staggering landslide in the election battle – with Labour’s ‘red wall’ of Brexit-backing strongholds imploding.

A dramatic exit poll shows voters handing the Tories a massive 368 seats, with Labour languishing on 191 – down 71 on 2017 and the worst performance in modern history.

The bombshell numbers would give a huge Commons majority of 86, the biggest since Margaret Thatcher’s triumph in 1987, and are equivalent to a 10-point lead in the popular vote. (more)

This result also has massive ramifications for a U.S-U.K trade deal; and subsequently major leverage for the U.S. (independently) and a U.S. – U.K. alliance in future trade negotiations against the European Union.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson now appears empowered to lead Britain through Brexit in January, its most momentous transition since World War II.

This is a rare example of a New York Times headline and lead actually following journalism ethical guidelines without inserting their political bias. What’s up with that?

It’s only an exit poll. In the last election the same poll was far off the mark. Secondly the Conservative Party is not a party of Conservatives. It is a socialist party and in my eyes an illegitimate Government. What the Tories have put the English through over the last 10 years is unforgivable. We have had virtually open borders for 10 years and hate speech laws that have destroyed freedom of speech in this country. I didn’t vote. You cannot reform an anarcho-tyranny by voting in a rigged electoral system.
That said perhaps Trump can reform the CIA and get it to do something useful…like overthrowing our Government and restoring some form of Democracy.

The UK has had large enclaves of West Indian and Muslim immigrants since the Sixties. Ex- colonial countries that were encouraged to come and fill a Labour shortage. On the whole, everyone was happy to live here and complacent in their attitude to Western culture.

West Indians have now been replaced with Africans, most with no prior historical affiliation to the UK or culture.

Unfortunately with the muslims, their numbers have increased exponentially and so too has the degree of radicalisation, due IMO, to the proliferation of Mosques and muslim only schools.

Does anyone have specific knowledge of how the election process works in Great Britain? Specifically, do they have in person vs mail in ballots? Do they have electronic voting machines or paper ballots?

I am asking because results like these indicate that a lot of people told pollsters one thing and then went and voted very differently, which, I think is the same thing that happened here in 2016. But, in 2018, and in several races this year as well, the election results have been very unexpected and have seemed to turn south with a last minute surge of questionable ballots.

I would really like to return to old fashioned paper ballots, in-person voting (with ID checks required) on the day of the election only, with only a few exceptions allowing for mail in absentee (military, documented hardship, etc). I think that if we could get that, then our results in 2020 would be just as overwhelmingly positive as the vote today in the UK.

It’s the shy Tory effect that resulted in the unexpected victory of Brexit and then Trump 2016. People on both sides of the water don’t trust pollsters to keep their data private and don’t want to be flamed socially or online, so they either lie or don’t cooperate. The same thing happened in Aus this year.

All paper ballots, counted by hand. The counting process is generally a well-oiled machine, as boundaries are reasonably stable, and so the process is repeated easily. In this election we cast a single vote for Members of Parliament. There’s no other “ticket”. There are mail votes for overseas Britons, or those who’ve moved constituencies, but these do not change the much larger local vote. A very simple process.

The long serving Senators were originally appointed by the state. They were supposed to be wise old statesmen who were above politics.

The progressive movement in the 20th century changed this, lobbied for the 17th amendment. Then the states adopted statewide elections to choose their senators, and the politics became dirtier and dirtier.
It took a few decades for the corruption to really take hold, but it did. Now we are going to have to replenish the tree of Liberty once again.

No system is perfect. Ours is specifically designed to protect the smaller states and smaller rural populations from tyranny. Democracy and majority rule simply don’t prevent smaller populations from being tyrannized by larger population centers. If we could pass term limits like PDJT promoted during his 2016 campaign, our system would be as good as it can get.

I’m not bashing the UK system. Every country is unique, and their system of government reflects that. Our system won’t work for every nation, but when we clean out the corruption it will work for us.

Now comes the vicious dirty no-holds barred campaign to peel 40-50 Tories from the Conservatives to vote Brexit down again, to be followed by another year’s paralysis as I don’t believe Johnson can call another election for a year. British commentators may know better than I.

As I understand it, even 50 Tories wouldn’t be enough… they’d need to peel off 87 Tories and every other party vote in lockstep to stop Brexit now.

There’s no coalition government needed here… Tories took the majority outright and Labor had the biggest route since 1935.

Incorrect. The minimum needed is 43 (and of course everyone else vote Remain, extremely unlikely). Which remains in the realm of possibility, if not probability. 21 Tories got expelled from the party after voting against Johnson’s no-deal Brexit proposal, so it could happen. But very improbable.

The public viewed this as their second vote on Brexit. There’s no way the “remainers” peel off enough votes to stop Brexit at this point. This is a 100% mandate to get the job done, and I think this is game set and match. Time will tell, of course, but if the last 3 years were evidence that maybe the government didn’t respect the voters’ decision, the election tonight is evidence that the Public is exacting a lethal revenge on the government. This is just brutal.

If Trump and the GOP can pull something analogous to this off in 2020, you will be able to see the top of the border wall from Chicago.

This is also a red flag warning to Democrats in Congress thinking about voting for the fake impeachment. If I was Trump, and this blowout win stands, I would add it to my stump speech. The original Brexit vote was a sign of things to come with Trump’s win. This vote is a sign that the people are very, very, very, very, very angry that Brexit was not carried out like they voted for 3 years ago. The stalling and delays by the British Government were a direct, loud-and-clear, message to the voters: We Reject Your Vote. Elections Only Matter If You Vote For What We Want.

Kinda like the fake impeachment, the fake FBI investigation, the fake Mueller report, and countless elected and unelected Government Party members who continue to reject the 2016 election results. Throw them all out. Replenish their ranks with people who are going to vote for the Trump MAGA-KAG Agenda.

Why not just replace the EU with a pan European arrangement that is limited to just trade among sovereign European nations that control their own internal policies? We are replacing NAFTA with USMCA. Why not a European version? Then Brexit is no longer an issue, as there would be nothing to exit. It is, after all, the EU itself that is the nub of the problem.

I hope Corbyn Sanders or Bernie Corbyn or whatever the old Stalinists name is, is watching very closely. Nobody, on either side of the Atlantic, is buying your Marxist schtick.
As a bonus, this will send a little yellow trickle down the leg of every congressional Dem.

Boris Johnson’s Brexit was Brexit in name only, or as we call it BRINO. He just took Theresa May’s Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration, tweaked it, and then presented it as an “oven ready Brexit”., pretending that it represented truly leaving the EU. It did not. It represents vassalage to the EU and we will not be truly free of the EU.

Do not be fooled by Boris. He has been a globalist, and does not seem to have any firm conservative ideology. He is left of centre and he will not free us from the cultural marxism that has pervaded our society in the UK. He is a subscriber to political correctness, gender identity politics, global warming nonsense and much more.

The only person that was genuinely committed to honouring Brexit was Nigel Farage and despite Farage’ss efforts to try to work with Boris, and Farage’s commitment not to stand candidates against any Conservative MP candidates, Boris did not reciprocate. There is history here, and one of the main campaign managers for Boris was Dominic Cummings, who apparently had a visceral loathing for Farage, and was determined that Boris would cruise to victory without making any agreements/accommodation with Nigel Farage.

The Cons basically seemed to feel that Farage was beneath them, and in fact their apparent smearing and sidelining of Farage represented far worse treatment than the Conservative Party meted out to those who were on the other side of the political spectrum i.e. the Liberal Democrats, (Jo Swinson) and the far Left, Labour, under Jeremy Corbyn. Strange that Boris and his Cons apparently think they have more in common with the Liberal Democrats and Labour than the Brexit Party, many of whose members were grassroots Conservatives who deserted the Party when David Cameron and Theresa May crafted a new type of “progressive” Conservatism which was left leaning and focused on many of the issues that the Dems in the USA considered important. They were in effect sold out to the EU, and believed in globalisation, open borders, surrendering of the sovereignty of the UK to the EU, mass migration, a rigorous green climate change agenda which would bankrupt the country, gender identity politics, and so on.

My faith is in your wonderful President, Donald Trump. I pray that he will sort out Boris and the EU.

I haven’t even been to England and I have tears of joy for them. The same tears I get when watching the Hong Kong protesters…the world is in open rebellion against the globalist elites. And the MEDIA. Just this morning, I read how it was going to go to Corbyn, because of long lines in traditionally Labour neighborhoods….so many young voted, how could they possibly vote for Tories, wrote the idiot. Well, I guess England has had enough. I am soooo encouraged by this and in a way, I think this will encourage American voters. It CAN be done.

  49. The Trump Revolution is a global phenomena. The tide has turned. The leftists are being pushed into the political wilderness and they’ll be there for a long time.
