They way I read the 26 Senate impeachment rules, governing a Presidential Impeachment, Miss Lindsey doesn’t get to make that determination on who is called. I am sure he will be one of the 12 Senators on the jury, and can object if someone calls Shiff or one of the Biden’s to testify, but it is the Presiding Officer of the Senate (Chief Justice) in the case of a Presidential Impeachment who makes most if not all of the final rulings.

  14. Unfortunately I am listening to Sen Graham with Maria Bartiromo and he’s saying that he wants the Senate trial over as quickly as possible. Apparently Graham as feels that allowing PDJT to present a robust defense by calling real witnesses will tear the country apart. Wow. Graham wants the Senate trial over as quickly as possible and he has no interest in allowing PDJT to present his side. He’s a coward that will cover for the Dems. Those that are in the middle will never hear the other side. I’m surprised but I guess I shouldn’t be. Anyone that expects Graham to do the right thing can forget it.

      • I respectfully disagree. Acquittal may technically keep PDJT in office but it sends a message to those on the fence that aren’t following the charade that PDJT didn’t have a defense so he didn’t present one.

This is election interference. It happened in 2018. Without the ability to present his side of the argument those in the middle can believe the lies and spin because the Repubs won’t have challenged it.

I listened for a few minutes, heard the things you all did and then shut it off. I’ve never shut it off before but I don’t think Lindsey Graham has ever struck me as so thoroughly weak before. It was interesting for me to notice what a watershed moment it was for me. “Weak as water”! As Mrs. Slocum on Are You Being Served used to say.

Everything is rehearsed, including how “how to swiftly dispatch with parliamentary disruptions from Republicans”

First, Speaker Nancy Pelosi will have the final say on the precise wording of two to four articles of impeachment:

There is no anticipated article based on bribery.

This weekend, as in previous weeks, the Democrats are also holding practice hearings

The general rule was never ask a question whose answer could not be readily anticipated.

I don’t like NK one bit but IMHO Kim would be nuts to denuclearize. Look what happened to Qaddafi and Saddam. Qaddafi gave up his nukes after Bush took out Saddam (and he ended up strung up) and the next (Obama) Administration came in and Qaddafi ended up horribly tortured and killed. Do you think Bush would have invaded Iraq had Saddam had nukes? Meanwhile China which HAS nukes continues to build islands in the South China sea and Russia which HAS nukes continues to bite off pieces of neighboring countries. So using logic, do you really think Bush would have attacked Iraq had Saddam had nukes? That Obama would have attacked Libya had Qaddafi had he NOT given up his nukes? Iran is scrambling to get nukes for a reason. We may not like other countries having nukes, but other countries who are subjected to the whims of a Republican president (like Bush) or a Democrat president (like Obama) see what happened to those who don’t.

Don’t flame me for this. I’m not in favor of NK keeping nukes, but I don’t see how Kim could justify to himself giving them up knowing what happens to a dictator when he does.

Discussions of Comey, intent, and double standards being to mind this little-reported Comey quote from his book that indicate such an application based on his actions:

      https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2018/08/22/despite_comey_assurance_vast_bulk_of_weiner_laptop_emails_never_examined.html

“Many Clinton supporters believe Comey’s 11th hour reopening of a case that had shadowed her campaign was a form of sabotage that cost her the election. But the evidence shows Comey and his inner circle acted only after worried agents and prosecutors in New York forced their hand. At the prodding of Attorney General Lynch, they then worked to reduce and rush through, rather than carefully examine, potentially damaging new evidence.

“Comey later admitted in his memoir “A Higher Loyalty,” that political calculations shaped his decisions during this period. But, he wrote, they were calibrated to help Clinton: “Assuming, as nearly everyone did, that Hillary Clinton would be elected president of the United States in less than two weeks, what would happen to the FBI, the Justice Department or her own presidency if it later was revealed, after the fact, that she still was the subject of an FBI investigation?””

Uh, where was this concern of having the current president under investigation? Oh yeah, you’re the one who said you leaked in order to prompt a special counsel investigation! Can you say double standard? Can you say intent?

The hypocrisy is matched by the complete pass the media and law enforcement have given this guy as the constitution appears to be thrown to the dogs on his watch at the FBI. Without consequences for the actions of him and the other partisan actors — including getting the primary docs out free from unnecessary politically-motivated redactions so that the public can have proof rather than speculation with which to work, equal justice under the law as well as the proper operation of government under the constitution could be mortally wounded.

We’re heading into the 2020 primary season soon. Who are your candidates? Do you have a plan? Make it a resolution to make a voting plan before the end of the year. Vote smartly, it’s the only way we’re going to drain the swamp.

Here are some important Senate races:

Alabama: Doug Jones is a Democrat Senator, he won the seat in the Dec 2017 special election and is up for re-election in 2020. If you remember, he ran against Roy Moore who was the victim of a smear campaign. I don’t know if conservatives sat out or voted for Jones, but either way they were a special kind of stupid to allow Jones to win that special election. MAGA won’t happen if you vote stupidly, people. I don’t care if the GOP candidate is Satan, you must vote and you must vote for the GOP candidate. Roy Moore is running again, as is Jeff Sessions and a few other Republicans. Make sure one of them wins. If you dislike Moore then weed him out during the primary but make sure the GOP candidate wins in November.

Arizona: Don’t f this up again. It was bad enough that you voted Democrat Sinema into a Senate seat! McSally was appointed to the other seat and is up for election in 2020. Make sure a GOP candidate wins that seat.

Maine: How is Susan Collins the only GOP candidate??? My God, someone, throw your hat into this race and primary her! If nobody is willing to step up then you must vote for her in Novemeber. Any Republican is better than any Democrat. But sheesh, seriously, how does she not have any competition?

Virginia: Can you get rid of that Dem POS Mark Warner? Put a Republican in that seat.

We need a plan, people. Don’t be lazy. We’re in the middle of a war. You have an important duty, two times next year you will be voting, do so smartly. MAGA has begun and we can only continue it if we vote smartly.

Dem cheating is not the bigger problem. The bigger problem is conservatives shooting themselves in the collective foot by either not showing up at the polls or showing up but voting stupidly. Utah conservatives elected Romney into a Senate seat! They had a chance to weed him out during the primary. Again, special kind of stupid. We cannot have MAGA when stupid voters keep choosing RINOs during the primaries or allow Dems to win in the generals. There were and still are plenty of people in this forum alone who have expressed intense dislike of their GOP candidates and threatened to not vote for them. I’m going to start keeping a collection of those comments and will put them up periodically. Dem cheating is certainly a problem but the bigger problem is that conservatives don’t consistently support GOP candidates. And when they vote stupidly they hurt all of us. They gave away the House majority in 2018 and look at the damage that’s been done by Nadler, Schiff, and Pelosi. I’m way angrier about this than all fot he Spygate stuff.

This could only occur by traitors within government.. slowly chipping away at it.. making rules and laws to where our military personnel down in the weeds.. where the rubber meets the road.. can’t even defend themselves.. on their own turf.. inside their own wire..

Something is seriously wrong in the brass halls..

Who is to stop a quick raid on a fleet loaded for bear.. hard loaded fighter jets.. or even worse..

Major cities are at risk.. our Country is at stake.. does anybody else see this..

Base security needs to be revised.. the whole foreign training crap.. we are on a war footing.. aren’t we.. since 911..

During Vietnam I remember seeing armed soldiers.. brandishing their M16’s.. guarding every base entrance.. and roaming the base with their best friend..

President Trump doesn’t need to listen to the brass band.. He needs to listen to the non-coms.. the Pettys’.. the Sergeants’.. the ones who have their feet on the ground.. include them in the discussions.. they may surprise you.. by using plain common sense..

The problem is really not that complicated.. I know they already have the answer..

This guy was a trained military jet aircraft pilot expected to graduate in Aug 2020. Pete Hegseth said he was banned from Twitter temporarily from posting the Saudi shooter’s “manifesto” (it was hate speech not to write it but apparently to retweet it if you are a conservative).
Then there is information that the shooting was being filmed, that the shooter and some pals had had a party the night before during which they showed massacre videos (don’t you always show massacre videos at your parties). But do not fear, Americans, the FBI is on the case, investigating the hell out of Donald Trump.
