As a Brit, be glad we did make the insanely bad deals, but as you point out, the party is winding down.

The trade deals and one-sided tariffs were a good thing the U.S. did to build up everyone (U.S. included) from the smoking ruins of WWII. But someone(s) intentionally forgot to turn off the spigots once the water tanks were full again.

I take the Bush clan as a Post WWII example of doing well by doing good. I can understand the push for a One World Order so that “Never Again” would the World be plunged into a war like WWII. And oh, by the way, there is a ton of money to be made if you’re in the top tier of the One World Order.

Just my opinion, but I think the now deceased Bush the Elder honestly wanted to do good but also planned and expected to do very well for his ‘noble’ efforts. Of course, doing well before doing good has a tendency to creep up on people. It’s that Noble Cause Corruption thingy.

Globalist are the enemy of the American people, more so than anything in the World. Once all Americans understand there is no way Globalism serves any interest for Americans, it is a tough battle for those who do understand it to be the case. The plus side, there are more Americans becoming aware on a day by day basis. This despite the fact America has a Globalist controlled media. Imagine if the media were truly American with their best interest being America?

My wife and I were independent contractors. Before Obama in 2007 our monthly was about $500 per month. I was 57. Then it went to $2000 per month by 2012 (I was 62)! Went self pay, and what do you know, all my bills were discounted 30% since I was a cash payer! Never hit $24,000 in a year — in fact less than half that. A 30% discount is the same as saying that there is a 50% overhead for providers.

I remember prior to the ACAs passage individual plans that were ~$400/month and that was seen as high! I work in healthcare insurance on the provider side, what these leftists seem to ignore is that quality of service, even in our own system, rapidly diminishes in a payer case mix dominated by MCR/MCD. When the profit margin is $30/treatment and you have to pay for facility costs, staff, equipment, etc. then expect to get processed through as quickly as possible with the minimal amount of waste; there can be no staff hour overages or extra supplies available. Need extra supplies or change in an appt? Good luck. Want an American doctor? Ehhhh, I’m used to dealing with foreign born docs, but not everyone is comfortable. Best way to drive Americans further out is make education expenses outrageous and reimbursement abysmal. If you think they aren’t driven by revenue you are out of your mind. Some of these people look at me and ask why rate per tx /= them in this year’s luxury sedan. A very talented and creative doctor isn’t going to work for peanuts when we pay people millions to bounce a ball or be lawyers.

Government involvement depersonalizes and bureaucratizes healthcare, if you become the round peg in a square hole, may God have mercy.

I suppose that is why people across the UK (with illnesses so dire and our system can’t help) need the latest diagnosis, surgery and care work choose the US.

Not because it’s expensive but because it’s cutting edge.

My husband, a 33 year firefighter, is retiring the end of this year and we just got word that our premiums for 2020 will be close to 1/3 of his pension check…and we will still have a large deductible on top of that. We planned, saved, and budgeted our entire working lives, and also do our best to take care of ourselves.

All we want, or need, is a major medical catastrophic plan, with a high deductible and lower premiums, but they are not available anymore. We are being forced to carry insurance that covers everything, including maternity care for me, even though that train left the station a long time ago!I know that we are not alone in this situation but we are being forced to pay for coverage we will never use in order to cover the costs for all of the people insisting on coverage for which they pay nothing!

It is beyond frustrating but the Democrats in Congress are so busy with their faux impeachment Shifftshow that they can’t be bothered to actually do their job and figure out better legislation now that their stupid “Affordable” (HA!!) NHS “Administrative Costs” alone are over 60% of the annual budget. That’s before one patient is seen and one medical professional has been recompensed. Completely unsustainable because it’s just one more top heavy, self-serving bloated government bureaucracy. Those who “manage” NHS benevolently award themselves BUPA or other Cadillac insurance plans so never have to be treated like the serfs they claim to care so much about.

In 2005 the Management budget alone was 14% of annual costs. Prior to that, Management and Administration were one line item but after some negative press regarding administrative costs, they separated the two. You can no longer find a definitive cost breakdown due to smoke and mirrors (NHS Trusts) but you will, more recently, find an occasional story about Management/Senior Management costs lowering. No information on Administrative costs, however.

The key here is can Nigel propel his new party (The Brexit Party BXP) to become a spec of dust in the conservatives (likely new ruling party) eye..

The UK has the London centric metropolis (the beautiful people live there) and then elsewhere, (similar to flyover country in the US) that is where the forgotten Brit man and woman live.

In our “flyover country” the people detest the metropolis and the EU. In some parts 70%+ voted for Brexit. Those areas are mainly Labour heartlands and Nigel has targeted his BXP campaign there.

As per the US, the establishment parties are really one. They pretend to be significantly different at election time, but in truth you get pretty much the same when in power.

So a bridgehead needs to be created in the new parliament (election 12/12/19) and if Nigel’s new party could get say 20 to 40 MP’s elected (big task), then instantly they have presence and the forgotten people have a voice.

His strategy to success was to have a “leave (the EU) alliance” with the tories and fight labour. The plan meant he would leave tories to keep their stronghold areas broadly unchallenged and avoid splitting the leave vote.

Magnanimously he stood down appx 50% of his candidates in strong tory areas. Hoping the tories would reciprocate in areas where BXP is likely to win; but you guessed it, the tories didn’t reciprocate.

So the fight is on, Boris is BRINO (Brexit In Name Only) and Nigel is a fine example of an honest broker. Sadly we know there is no honour in politics, but we hope the people get out and propel the BXP to some kind of beachhead victory.

        Wish us luck.

Melania will pack a lunch for her man, if necessary. She obviously doesn’t let her men go hungry. Look at Barron. 🙂

“Tea” in the British sense is a meal, and can be quite substantive. Because the British (and Western Europeans) typically eat their evening meal much later than Americans (around 8 pm, many restaurants do not open up for their first seating before 7 pm), “Tea” is a meal of items that can be easily eaten with the hands to faciliate polite and interactive conversation in upper class settings. For the middle and lower classes, it was the meal that could be easily eaten without having to heat or prepare food. Hence the emphasis on “hand sandwiches” (pasties and the like) and for the middle and upper classes, the infamous crustless cucumber and watercress sandwiches, with desserts. But “Tea” can also be quite a large and generous spread of cold cuts, shooting pie, steak sliced and served cold, etc. It’s much more than just “Tea”. In the sense of the Clarence House “Tea Reception” it’s a working lunch and the food will be extensive and impressive.

Faux reported that Pres Trump thought the Fake News inquisitor said Iraq, and Pres Trump said we do not support the Iran Patriots

Thank you so much for showing Pres Trump’s actual position, much appreciated, and very important.

POTUS definitely said No to the question “do you support the iran protesters” and that caused confusion. For whatever reason, his No answer was not what he meant, and the tweet clarifies the answer. People speculated that he misheard, POTUS himself said he interpreted the question as “do we support the protesters with money?”

Seems like a good time to throw this in. You’ve prob. read it before:

“Nations have no permanent friends or allies, they only have permanent interests.” A quote from Lord Palmerston, an English statesman. Countries seldom act for purely moral or humanitarian reasons, although that may be a corollary explanation by the leaders of a country.

Acting out of morality or for humanitarian principles is a luxury most nations cannot afford to do. Only great nations can without undue harm to themselves, and then not always.

I would say that quote is accurate pre globalism. One of the anamolies of the globalism era is that we have seen nations acting against their own countries best interests. President Trump is reversing that trend, and thus forcing other nations to also change. He’s slowing down the cultural suicide of Western civilization. It’s unbelievable. He’s also forcing the greatest economic realignment of… well, like ever. It’s incredible, it’s amazing, it’s every word meaning great that you can write down. He’s succeeding beyond my wildest dreams, beyond my most optimistic projections. Big big picture winning Bigly.

Great comment. Totally forgot that Palmerston’s quote only applies to people who we’d call nationalists. That’s a dirty word these days among the literati and our self-proclaimed cultural betters. Trump is trying to slay that globalist dragon but it is still fighting back mightily. But if you look closely, my sense is it seems to be in shock somewhat and tiring.
