Day Five Impeachment Hearings – Fiona Hill and David Holmes – 9:00am ET Livestreams…

Today begins day five of the House impeachment hearings.  Testimony today will include Fiona Hill, President Trump’s top adviser on Russia; and David Holmes, a very sketchy State Department fellow whose wife, Stephanie Holmes, also works at the State Dept; holding a previous assignment with former Ukraine Ambassador Yovanovitch.

The foreign service office is one big internecine anti-MAGA network of mutually aligned career interests, and hard-core political operatives.  The fiasco starts at 9:00am EDT

I wonder, is she related to Prince Andrew?

  11. tommylotto says:

Does this guy know how to conduct a cross-examination. Don’t ask questions you don’t know the answer. Don’t allow her to ramble on. She is intelligent, articulate and very opinionated. But who cares about her opinions. What does she know. Get her to focus only on what she knows. Stop letting her get on her soapbox.

It has become obvious that neither of these witnesses have anything substantive to contribute, so knowing that she is a pompous windbag he’s just handing her rope. Let everybody see what she’s about. Then when all of the questionable details about her background are revealed people have an unpleasant face to associate it with

Draining the swamp requires to get rid of the many destructive agencies like the CIA & FBI and downsizing most others, as well as de-centralizing (Dept. of Ag can go to Idaho).

As Sundance repeatedly said: It’s the rank and file. 90% of Washington D.C. voted for Hillary.

Nice that our counsel has deferred so completely to the verbosity of Dr. Hill.

    • Diddian says:

Her verbosity is not coming off well. She presents herself as an “I know better than you, you ungrateful ignoramus” liberal scold.

Having been reminded of a characteristic some women exhibit that is grating and repellant, we are likely to see a drop in public support for Warren, Harris, and Klobuchar as a result of Hill’s tongue-lashing… er, testimony.

    • Garavaglia says:

It allows those watching to witness what a blowhard she is..a know it all..per se. She is indicative of the traitors in our midst who cannot stand having their greedy little hands on every little move.commander in chief be damned. It is proof that..up until now..all presidents have been checked. Not Trump.

    • vikingmom says:

Just as during the Kavanaugh show trial, sometimes the best thing an attorney can do is ask a simple, unassuming question and let the witness ramble. I suspect this woman is not coming across well and may even be giving answers that will be used against her later.

It took a loooong time to get this broad AND deep. Best way to kill the creatures that reside there is to starve them. However, how are you going to convince the vast majority of Americans that starving them requires cutting off their taxpayer dollars? You know, starving BIG Government, something not even Ronald Reagan was really able to do.

    • Couldn’t agree more.

In fact, let’s get rid of CIA & FBI altogether. The Pentagon can take on intelligence and we may need to build a new, much smaller, limited federal police that protects rather than attacks the Constitution.

Trump signed the Whistleblower Protection Act.

What this farce is doing is making the traitors who are coming forward un-firable.

The best Trump can do now is “transfer” them to the bureaucractic equivalent of an arctic air force post.

      • fractionalexponent says:

Reduction In Force (RIF) them. You don’t have to fire them or transfer them if you just delete their position. Delete their job with no replacement.

For a start, go through each Executive branch and delete 1 of 10 positions, at random to avoid politics accusations.

Over the long haul, including retirement, each govt position costs the taxpayers over a million dollars.

    • Beau reste says:

PDJT could order identification to himself and the Office of the President counsel, of all agents and “assets” of the FBI/CIA/DOJ in the White House and State Department, together with all records of reports made by anyone to the CIA/DOJ/FBI about any activities of PDJT or White House personnel. Then he can assign them to fill out some bureaucratic forms somewhere.
If the CIA/DOJ/FBI personnel lie, or hide the info, it is a criminal violation of 18 USC 1001, the criminal statute used by the DOJ to attack people the DOJ doesn’t like, but doesn’t have evidence to convict.

    This is going nowhere.
Trump wisely circumvented the “highly decorated officials” as much as possible.
He used Rudy to have the allegations vs. him defended that the “officials” didn’t care or helped accelerate.
Not President Trumps fault that Democrats made up all that b.s. and injected campaign politics into foreign policy.

R’s are kind of making that clear in their line of questioning.. But they could be more clear about it. That said a lot of it hinges on the FISA report.

    • Spencer's Mom says:

Dems are trying to take down everyone and anyone who DARES to work for Trump – and right now they are going full bore into attacking Rudy. It seems as if they are trying to isolate the President so that he has no one willing to work for him anymore.

To wit – Volker, Morrison are both quitting. Not sure about Volker – he may be have serious Globalist associations – but Morrison seemed like a talented good guy.

There aren’t many people brave enough to stick it out under these circumstances – but Rudy – for all his faults – has remained loyal.

One other thing: one advantage to using Rudy as an emissary is prudent is that Rudy is Trump’s personal attorney – so they can claim Attorney/Client privilege, no?
