Representative Jim Jordan does an outstanding job of encapsulating the impeachment fiasco and motives of entrenched administrative bureaucrats who didn’t like the diplomatic approach taken by President Trump and Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker.
In essence State Dept. officials George Kent and Bill Taylor were butthurt having been cut out of the direct Ukraine policy and diplomacy being organized by State Dept. Special Envoy Kurt Volker. Additionally, U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was butthurt about being sidelined and no longer having most influence or access to Ukraine affluence.
Meanwhile, back in Washington DC, Jennifer Williams and Alex Vindman were aghast at President Trump’s direct expectation that Ukraine corruption -writ large- including corrupt officials speaking negatively about the U.S, must cease. Lt. Col. Vindman, believing he alone had control over White House policy toward Ukraine; and with his feelings hurt because he felt smaller; manufactured a false narrative to his sketchy CIA resistance member Eric Ciaramella to construct a false whistle-blower leak.
Meanwhile, after the Trump-Zelensky call, envoy Kurt Volker arranged a series of meetings and diplomatic contacts with President Zelensky and U.S. officials; people he knew that President Trump would later respect their opinion. Upon return to debrief President Trump affirmations of intent were made, and a U.S-Ukraine relationship was restarted under new leadership.

Volker is still fired in my eyes. At the end, in his closing soliloquy, Shifty pointed out that Volker basically thinks the sun shines out of Biden’s butt, and also that when Volker found out from Sondland AFTER the famous call, that Trump a allegedly wanted to link the aide to investigating Biden, Volker found that terrible. YOU’RE FIRED, AmbASSador,

Yes, I understand the point that you make, but it is merely spin.
First, Joe Biden until such time that he becomes the democratic nominee, is not a political rival, and second, any investigation into Burisma is not in and of itself, an investigation into Biden.
Joe Biden is only consequentially connected to Burisma via his son’s dealing, and by the firing of the prosecutor who was investigating Burisma, and of course by the appearance of bias and conflict of interest, as the Obama State Department were rightly concerned.
Finally all of this is irrelevant since the President is, pursuant to the Constitution, under an obligation to investigate corruption, and if that requires taking up the matter with a foreign Government so be it. What seems to be overlooked is that in the transcript, the President is asking Zelensky to assist AG Barr, that is the approprate channel. It is not the President who is personally himself doing the investigation, he is merely introducing Ag Barr and asking Zelensky to cooperate with AG Barr. This is something very different.

They don’t see it that way. They actually see it the way the crowd that clapped does. They think they are correct, and that Trump is too dumb, too brash, too ignorant to make good decisions regarding, in this case, foreign policy. He is going to get us all killed. He will destroy a women’s right to choose which will end up killing women. He will kill black and brown people, and install white supremacy in the country. He will call people names and hurt their feelings. He will destroy hard working families just because they work in government.
They truly believe it.
What they don’t get is what they think doesn’t matter.
The people elected him but they don’t believe that either. They think Hillary got more votes so the people wanted her, not him. So his ideas and plans are therefore not valid and must be stopped. Hillary can do it. Trump can’t.
But the truth is the people did elect him and he gets to set foreign policy, end wars, start wars, negotiate trade agreements, quit accords, and do the things Presidents get to do.
Democrats don’t just get to so no after they lost the election. He is the President, like it or not. Work against his policies if you think they are bad. Then vote next time around. You don’t get to undo the election and you especially don’t get to undo it by fraud and deceit and lies, destroying other people in the process, and staging a coup to overthrow the government.

I would emphasize … “and no longer having most influence or access to Ukraine affluence.“ Because this, to me, is really key.
In my opinion, we cannot speak of “Ukranian corruption” separately from “American corruption.” Joe Biden thrust this simple fact squarely into our faces when, while sitting as Vice-President, he not only boasted of obstruction of justice, but implicated the sitting President in the same boast! But, there’s more. If we dig just a little bit deeper, other names rise to the surface. Names like “Pelosi,” “Schiff,” and “Nadler,” among many others. Yes, it turns out that, if you wanted to very quickly parley your $300+K annual salary into a multi-million dollar net worth, “Ukraine was the place to go to.”
So – these Congressional leaders are not nearly as virtuous as they might wish for you to think them to be. Despite what they may claim to say against our President, the simple truth of the matter is that they’re desperate to protect themselves. Nothing more, really. Nothing less.
Really, nothing at all.

So let’s take that one step further, shall we?
Every DementoRat down to the greenest newbie knows by now, or will soon learn beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the primary reason Pelosy, the Schitter, Nadless, and probably several others in Congressional so-called leadership (not to mention excresences like Biden) are so crazed to do this and whip all the rank and file into party line is to protect their own butts from crimes they have committed. Nothing but that.
So how do those green newbies, who just won a vote and got in, and were looking forward to careers, feel about sacrificing everything just for the sake of those wrinkled old butts?
I mean, of course they hate DJT, but is that worth it to them?
For that matter, how many of the others who perhaps actually have done nothing criminal (there could be a few!) really want to go down with the Schifty Schiff?
This is why I don’t believe Nervous Nanzi has a lock on all those votes.
Spreading the word widely on every discovered criminal corruption connection to the leadership is paramountly important…

To be even more blunt, the Ukraine foreign aid program was really U.S. tax dollars money laundering back to corrupt U.S. politicians. Now stop and think long and hard about whether Mr Obama really was so altruistic that he would have sat back and and watch all his fellow politicians getting their unfair share of the foreign aid spoils without participating in the enrichment scheme. No, Obama likely reserved his personal cash out as part of his final acts: a plane load full of pellets of unmarked cash exported in plain sight (keep in mind, that was no small amount of money). Think about what a personal win-win this may possibly have been for the two principles: Obama gets $1.8 billion in cash and Khomani gets $150 billion of frozen assets released.

I didn’t get to see much of Volker’s testimony, just the very, very late stuff right before the end of the evening’s testimony, when he said he didn’t find Trump’s raising of the Burisma/Biden issue to be appropriate, that in his previous testimony he didn’t know about that, that he learned of it by listening to other testimony. The Dems were reaching a prime time audience with his remarks at that point and I thought it made Trump look bad but admittedly, its all I saw.

I wouldn’t get too excited about Jim Jordan and his presentations. If you watched the ending of this show “inquiry” you would have seen Adam Schiff give the closing statement before he adjourned for the day.
Schiff was terrific in his presentation, he was so convincing about Trump’s “obvious” guilt…he was Cicero in so many ways…especially if you happened to be an “ignorant” voting citizen who depends on news shows where they show clips promoting/slanting their editors’ point of view…Trump needs to be removed from office!
The question is: How many of those voters saw and will see Schiff’s close and go “yea, I have got to vote this guy Trump out of office!”
This is the real game, getting those voters to believe what they see on certain media outlets whether visual or print and then to get them to the voting booth to oust Trump. How many of those voters do they need? The democrats have less than 12 months to “round up” all those types of voters and keep their base. I fear they just might do it unless other events come to destroy the evil that they have sown. Don’t bet on Horowita, nor Barr, not even Durham to change the focus to remove those narratives the democrats put forth.
The democrats’ narratives etc. need to be seriously drowned out beyond a whimper, a sigh, a last gasp to get close to a guarantee that President Trump will be re-elected/

Unfortunately, you make some good points: his close was the first time a lot of working Americans would have been able to see him in real time since they closed up shop late. The networks will, I am sure, show parts of that clip over and over.

Les Standard: I believe the actual job title offered was Defense Minstrel, a role originally described in medieval times as “any type of entertainer such as a musician, juggler, acrobat, singer or fool,” according to Janes Defense Weekly, and corroborated by the good people at Wikipedia.

My thoughts exactly. If he was not somehow compromised, why would a foreign power even offer?? Time to clean them all out.

It may be that Lt Col Vindman has such a swelled head, he didn’t realize the suggestion he be Ukraine Defense Minister was intended as sarcasm and provided much merriment for President Zelensky and his team.

Another hearing, another disaster for Dims. But here’s the thing….generally, we know that attorneys don’t ask questions they don’t know the answers to. I believe we’ve heard that all of these “witnesses” were deposed behind closed doors earlier, so anything they’ve said during the hearing doesn’t come as a surprise to SFB and his familiars, presumably. And yet, to a person, each one of these star (!!) witnesses destroyed Dim claims of quid pro quo, bribery, and whatever the hell else.
Ergo, are these witnesses dropping surprise testimony, catching Dims completely off guard, or are Dims actually that spectacularly stupid? I mean, they ARE spectacularly stupid, of course, but this circus has supported their supposed basis for impeachment not one iota. It is complete, total madness. That said, my fervent prayer is that they stay the course, keep up the good (ha) work. All of this will ensure President Trump’s 2020 reelection in a landslide.
Thank you Treepers and Sundance who watch and keep us all informed. The play-by-play has been outstanding! 👍

It’s extremely hypocritical for the USA to tell Ukraine to root out it’s corruption and at the same time the USA ignores Hunter and Joe Biden corruption with a genesis in Ukraine. Our POTUS isn’t a hypocrite and it was essential to our credibility to address the Biden corruption as he did.

My workplace is a union shop, even though I’m not union. During a down time today, I was interested to see the TV in the breakroom tuned to the hearings, and several people were not only watching, but watching closely, and paying attention. I am very very careful to not talk politics there, ever. It’s no secret that I’m a Trump supporter, but we seemed to have reached an unspoken agreement that neither party will go there. They are hard-core union, and you can guess for whom they pull the lever. But the fact that this is being exposed to the masses on live unedited TV, and the masses are paying attention, may be a good indicator of some potential Walk Away action, at least on my small personal scale. Maybe not all, and maybe not right away, but it would seem that the cracks in the facade are widening.

Reminds me of the OJ Simpson trial. I was selling employee benefits to the City and County of San Francisco employees during that trial and in the break rooms all the black people were glued to the TV cheering on their guy.
Of course, OJ is from the San Francisco ghetto. So they may have been biased towards a home boy.

No, it wasn’t just San Francisco. I worked in Oakland during that trial. The Black employees were glued to the TV and radio as much as possible during the trial and literally whooped with joy when Simpson was found not guilty of the murders. I don’t believe that my Black co-workers actually thought he was innocent. It seemed to me that evidence/guilt/innocence was not a factor for them-it was only about race.

Ask the Dimwits straight up if we’d be here doing this now had President Trump NOT enforced that treaty as he is legally obligated to do. Put that query straight to Shifty and watch his eyes bulge even further out.

Considering Zelensky campaign was based on fighting corruption in Ukraine, I find it odd that Biden announced 4 days after Zelensky was elected. This has been a set up from the start. Now with the impeachment circus our House of Representatives has engaged in; it makes it difficult for Trump to defend himself, and also difficult for the new Ukrainian President to keep his promises to his people. If Z investigates corruption…he’s caving to Trump; if he doesn’t, his country will continue to be mired in corruption. (from which many of our lawmakers or their families may be profiting). We have got to vote these career lawmakers out.

Why can this not be addressed by the GOP members in the hearings?
I’m tired of the Dems setting the narrative and then our side arguing against it. Of course, they are effective and making good headway, but the real reason for the angst of Trump and Ukraine, is they might expose the Democrats corruption in 2016.
Forget the phone call!! This is nonsense. I want to hear more about Crowdstrike. The DNC server… why was that brought up by Trump? Idle chit chat?? I don’t think so.

This was a brilliant operation by Trump. Like most of his work, it has layers, each of which can help him and hurt his enemies. Ukraine’s and the Swamp’s corruption re Ukraine is bad for this country, and profits our enemies. This is being exposed, and additional investigation is now on the table. Biden is a corrupt hack, but he was a guy who might be able to lie well enough to attract swing voters, and Trump has now destroyed his presidential candidacy. The House D’s are now on the record voting for this mess, including the 31 from Trump majority districts, and he will select the ones where his presence might swing the electoral vote. Senate RINOs are muzzled, for fear that their jobs could come in jeopardy. The media has no shame, but they will be piled on and ridiculed. Deep State is weakened, however difficult that is to quantify. And it emboldens Barr, who can follow through on all this.
This was a Trump op. His only risk was a brief impeachment kerfuffle, and he was brave enough to see that wouldn’t amount to much, and it seems to be helping him in the polls, which match Obama’s at the same point right now. It will help him come the election.

Bag of doughnuts Vindman stuffed into a Blue Dress Uniform demands to be afforded the respect of being addressed as LTC. Simultaneously he proclaims his right to usurp President Trump’s right to dictate foreign policy due to “consensus” within the diplomatic corps.
LTC Vindman amounts to less than a pimple on the ass of President Trump. As does retired Admiral McCraven who recently wrote an open in the NYT calling for the overthrow of President Trump.
President Trump, while the rank and file war fighters love you, the “brass” are openly engaged in the coupe effort. You need to find a way to bypass the brass and link up us war fighters with the MAGA civilians so that we are all under your command.
Think of it as the conservative version of community organization. The left (along with Islam) is openly engaged in organizing to wage war against us and exterminate white, western Christian civilization. And yet we continue to turn the other cheek and love our enemies.

Wikipedia:
Oleksandr Danyliuk is a Ukrainian politician. He was Ukraine’s finance minister in the government of Volodymyr Groysman. He was dismissed on 7 June 2018 after a conflict with Groysman. He was Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine from late May until 30 September 2019 when President Volodymyr Zelensky fired him.
