Tuesday October 22nd – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

    Scripture Reading:

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
    — Genesis 1:3-5

I am a creationist. I personally believe that God created all things in heaven and earth in six literal 24-hour days. A proper understanding of creation is essential, since it is the foundation upon which all the doctrines of God rest. Sadly, some in Christendom have sought to erect an elaborate system known as the day-age theory to accommodate the geologic timetable of billions of years. But does this position pass the Berean test?

Those who subscribe to the day-age theory believe that the Hebrew word “day” (yom) can refer to a 24-hour day or a long period of time. This is true! For example, the day of the Lord is an extended period of time which covers well over one thousand years. Consequently, the context must always be consulted to ascertain the duration of time under consideration. Of course, those who defend this position teach that the days of the Genesis record quite literally cover millions and millions of years, which conveniently accommodates evolution.

Interestingly, when the Hebrew word yom is used with a number, it always refers to a 24-hour day, without exception. In regard to the Passover God instructed Moses, “Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel” (Ex. 12:15).

Would we conclude otherwise that the “first day” here is anything other than a normal day? Furthermore, when perimeters are set on the term yom, such as “the evening and the morning,” as found in Genesis 1:4, this limits the day to 24 hours.

But perhaps the most conclusive evidence that each day was 24 hours is found in Exodus 20:11: “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Here Moses uses the term yamin, the Hebrew plural for “days,” which exclusively speaks of 24-hour cycles.

If the Holy Spirit had intended to convey that the days of creation were “eras,” He would have used the used the Hebrew olam, which is defined as “indefinite time.” We accept by faith that God is sovereign and all-powerful; therefore, it was a small matter for Him to speak all things into existence in six days (Psa. 33:6-9).

Truly horrible. Anyone with the slightest bit of sense can see this is a severe case of child abuse by the mother similar to those who have Munchausen-by-proxy. Shame on that jury and the judge for being parties to this miscarriage of justice and decency.

I went to post the same thing in this thread, it was so disconcerting. They cannot even let the just-turned-7-year-old wait until old enough to make his own decision? It has to be imposed on a 7-year-old? And the mother is considered the parent that can make this decision?

This little boy is VIOLENTLY OPPOSED to being turned into a fake girl by his demonic “mother”: it’s ALL COMING FROM HER.

Read up on it: she is demonic and out of her blasted mind. And it’s happening in TEXAS, folks, over the passionate objections of the boy’s father.

Get the popcorn, kick off your shoes, open a beer, and settle into your chair to watch the show in Chicago.

In the Chicago mayoral election this past May between multiple democrats, the Chicago Teachers’ Union endorsed democrat Toni Preckwinkle, the democrat machine candidate. But then outsider democrat Lori Lightfoot beat Preckwinkle like a drum, getting 73% of the vote and winning all 50 wards. Get that: EVERY ward. It was the definition of “landslide.” Think there are some pissed off deplorables in Chicago?

In Chicago the mayor heads the schools. So now, the democrat machine’s nose out of joint, the Teachers’ Union has gone out on strike. It has nothing to do with teachers. Lightfoot has already offered them a 16% raise. No, the strike is about one, and only one, thing: payback, getting even with Lightfoot for beating the Teachers’ Union candidate.

So now, get this: Elizabeth Warren is coming into Chicago tomorrow (Tuesday) to support the Teachers’ Union against Lightfoot, a fellow democrat who won 73% of the vote. Read that again. The leading democrat presidential candidate Warren is wading into a strictly local matter to take sides against a black, partnered-lesbian, fellow-democrat mayor who won her mayoral election in a 73% landslide only 5 months ago.

    Hahahaha. Pass the salt, please.

Yes, Lightfoot won with 73%, but turnout was very low. The populous is turning indifferent to one-party politics in Chicago.

I guess you have to take an interest in hard Leftwing social justice politics to want to follow any part of that.

If the winning mayor represented any real conservative values I might be interested. But to watch two members of the same perverted, anti Christian, anti American, communist oriented, big government totalitarian movement play king of the hill is not my idea of entertainment.

From BL’s comment, it seems voters themselves were turned off by the lousy choices.

“Who Knows Where The TIme Goes” was written by Sandy Denney but was turned into a worldwide hit by Judy Collin’s heartfelt version. I was lucky enough to hear it in person with my Red Molly (to steal a phrase from Richard Thompson -) ) when Judy was on on tour promoting her new album. Her crystalline voice was as clear and beautiful in person as it was on record. If you listen to the guitar track you’ll hear Steven Stills’s tasty guitar work adding ever-so-subtle support to Judy’s singing.

      Another great selection, Garrison.

For the younger Treepers… Collins, now 80 years old, became popular in the late 60s / early 70s, coinciding with my transition into adulthood, finishing college, marrying and starting a family. Collins’ music has mostly mature themes and is always delivered with heartfelt sincerity. It takes some adult experience in life to really feel her music. I liked her songs that I heard on the radio “back in the day”.

Hello my American friends, I usually post things from Israel with translation. The following piece of music doesn’t need words, don’t miss it! , it’s pure love and you will see what I mean. But it’s important to give a short explanation. The singer is a man by the name Idan Amedi. A very few years ago he was an IDF (Israel Defense Force) combat warrior. After he finished his service and experienced the horror of friend falling (die) in his hands he attended the Israel Talent competition and caused everyone to cry with a song he composed and written about the war that he experienced. He almost won the completion but Israel fell in love with the guy and he became a star with his own music that he makes by himself. The video I posted is new and is a part of a show under the sky right by the Mediterranean Sea in an amphitheater called Caesarea which is an old Roman structure. Notice the love and his warrior fellows at some point. Enjoy

“The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit..” Romans viii. 16 R.V.

We are in danger of getting the barter spirit when we come to God, we want the witness before we have done what God tells us to do. “Why does not God reveal Himself to me?” He cannot, it is not that He will not, but He cannot, because you are in the road as long as you won’t abandon absolutely to Him. Immediately you do, God witnesses to Himself, He cannot witness to you, but He witnesses instantly to His own nature in you. If you had the witness before the reality, it would end in sentimental emotion. Immediately you transact on the Redemption, and stop the impertinence of debate, God gives on the witness. As soon as you abandon reasoning and argument, God witnesses to what He has done, and we are amazed at our impertinence in having kept Him waiting. If you are in debate as to whether God can deliver from sin, either let Him do it, or tell Him He cannot. Do not quote this and that person, try Matthew xi. 28 – “Come unto Me.” COME, if you are weary and heavy laden; ASK, if you know you are evil (Luke xi. 13).

The Spirit of God witnesses to the Redemption of Our Lord, He does not witness to anything else; He cannot witness to our reason. The simplicity that comes from our natural common-sense decisions is apt to be mistaken for the witness of the Spirit, but the Spirit witnesses only to His own nature, and to the work of Redemption, never to our reason. If we try to make Him witness to our reason, it is no wonder we are in darkness and perplexity. Fling it all overboard, trust in Him, and He will give the witness.

To ask for as many prayers as can be given for the little 7 year old boy in Dallas.

And for his father, who himself must be suffering unimaginable grief, and must now contemplate whether to defy the law and our system to save his own son.

And to spread this horrible story of the planned destruction of a little innocent boy wherever it can be spread.

And for whatever else we can do to save this little boy from these demonic monsters.

Perhaps Sundance might even give it a small column at this refuge.

This is so disturbing. Even if the child wants to be a girl, there is no real reason to not wait until he is older and can make an informed decision.

I believe this is demonic and our prayers should be directed in that manner. Rebuke of Satan from their midst, from the people perpetrating this evil and the wisdom of God to rule in this matter. That the Holy Spirit would guide this father and his family out of evil and that this family will be surrounded by Godly men and women speaking Gods word into their lives night and day.

I didn’t see an appropriate thread, so here it is:

I get the feeling that Barr & Durham have seriously stirred up that hornet’s nest, and the America haters have advanced their timetable considerably. They are now acting desperate, panicked, and scared.

I’m being patient, at this time, but I am prepared to go to the mat for President Trump, as are literally MILLIONS of Patriots…..but, not only do we need organization, but we also need a LEADER.

Our leader cannot be just anybody with charisma and a set of cojones; we all know people like that. Our leader must have national name recognition as well, to show us to be a national movement, and not simply a regional, less effective, spontaneous organization.

The president’s ultimate TRUMP card (yes, that pun was most definitely intended!) is the numbers of Patriots he could put in the streets TOMORROW, if he so chose…….literally MILLIONS; No politician in our history could ever dream of such numbers. The biggest difference between 2018 and today, is both how badly the America haters have bungled their moves, and how many more Americans now recognize the treasonous efforts to destroy our president.

If he so chooses, President Trump could also choose a primary opponent for ANY republican not supporting him, publicly endorse and campaign for the challenger, and have the incumbent thrown out of office.

If nothing else, this move by McConnell means that AG Barr is definitely over the target, and many an American traitor is weighing their next moves very, very carefully. These are especially dangerous days ahead…..pray for President Trump’s, AG Barr’s, and Special Prosecutor Durham’s safety in the coming days, as well as the safety of all those seeking justice for America.

Both McConnell and Graham are up for reelection in 2020, but McConnell is soooooo screwed any way it goes…..his papa san-in-law has profited bigly from shipping contracts with the Chicoms. By the way, did I mention he’s married to Elaine Chao? Yep, THAT Elaine Chao – the current Secretary of Transportation in the President Trump Cabinet. Coincidence…..?

Like my grandfather used to say before going on patrol outside Bastogne in December 1944, “Get your schiff wired tight, boys…..it’s about to be ^ut cuttin’ time!) paraphrasing of course.
