Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

  1. Deplorable_Infidel says:

    What’s the Word?

“…if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not; for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

“He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47,48).

I’m sure that the unbelievers among the Lord’s hearers were relieved to hear Him say that He had not come to judge them. But some of them may have remembered hearing Him say that “the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son” (John 5:22). Well, if the Father committed all judgment to the Son, how could the Son say that He had not come to judge people?

The answer to this question is found in “rightly dividing the Word of truth” (II Tim. 2:15). You see, the Lord was making a dispensational statement. He had not come to judge the world in His first coming, but in His second coming, He will come to “judge and make war” (Rev. 19:11).

Then, after the fiery judgment of the Second Coming (II Thes. 1:7,8), “God…hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained” (Acts 17:30,31). We know that Paul speaks here of the Lord Jesus Christ since he goes on to say of this man “that He hath raised from the dead.” In that day, the day that the Lord described as “the last day” (John 12:48), the unsaved of all ages will stand before the Great White Throne (Rev. 20:11), where they will be judged guilty and condemned to the lake of fire (vv. 12-15). It is concerning this judgment that the Lord said, “the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48).

Did you ever wonder what word will judge men in the last day? Believe it or not, this question must also be answered dispensationally! The word by which the Lord will judge unbelievers among the Jews to whom He was sent under the kingdom program (Matt. 15:24) is different than the word by which unbelievers who lived in the dispensation of grace will be judged.

The word by which unbelievers in the kingdom program will be judged was, as the Lord said in our text, a word that He had “spoken” during His sojourn here on earth. He gives us a hint as to what word that might be when He went on to call this word “a commandment” that the Father had given Him (v. 49), adding: “And I know that His commandment is life everlasting” (v. 50). Thus we know that whatever word the Lord spoke that will judge unbelievers under the kingdom program, it is a word that gave everlasting life to those that did believe this word.

He was speaking, of course, of the word of the gospel. It is the gospel that saves men’s souls in any dispensation, and it is the gospel that will judge men guilty if they do not believe it. In the kingdom program, the gospel word that gave eternal life was Jesus is the Christ (John 6:67-69). This is the word that will someday judge unbelievers who lived under the kingdom program when they stand before the Great White Throne if they refused to believe the word of that gospel.

Of course today, in the dispensation of grace, it is not enough to have the kind of “faith in His name” (Acts 3:16) that constitutes believing that “Jesus is the Christ” (John 20:31; I John 5:1). Today you have to have “faith in His blood” (Rom. 3:25) to be saved; that is, you have to believe that “Christ died for our sins” and rose again (I Cor. 15:1-4). When unbelievers who lived in the dispensation of grace stand before the Lord’s Great White Throne, this is the word of the Lord by which they will be judged, the word He spoke through Paul.

How do we know that unbelievers from the dispensation of grace will be judged by the word of a different gospel? It is because our apostle Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles (Rom. 11:13; 15:16), describes the last day as “the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel” (Rom. 2:16), not according to the word that the Lord spoke when He ministered to the Jews. As you can see, even the very gospel of salvation has to be rightly divided!

We sometimes hear it said that rightly dividing the Word of truth is “an interesting doctrine, but not a very practical doctrine.” We couldn’t disagree more. What could possibly be more practical than knowing which words of Scripture have the power to give eternal life in the dispensation of grace, and which words will judge men guilty of their sins when they believe them not? Dispensationalism doesn’t just help us when it comes to figuring out things like why the Lord said He wasn’t sent to judge men after the Father committed all judgment to Him. Rightly dividing the Word ensures that we are able to make a clear presentation of the gospel that saves men’s souls to those who will suffer the flames of eternal torment without it.

“The answer to this question is found in “rightly dividing the Word of truth” (II Tim. 2:15).”

“We sometimes hear it said that rightly dividing the Word of truth is “an interesting doctrine, but not a very practical doctrine.””

Verse 15 contains the one use of the word for rightly dividing (Gr. ὀρθοτομοῦντα – orthotomounta; per Strong’s, to cut straight) in the New Testament. Given the above conflation of a portion of verse 15 with a doctrine, examining the term and notion with further context can prove helpful.

In Paul’s second letter to Timothy included in the New Testament Scriptures, Paul is writing with the impression that his time of departure had come and that his race was finished (2 Timothy 4:6-7). This provides context to his instructions to a younger church leader which form a significant part of the letter, including what is conveyed in the second chapter.

In that chapter, Paul notes many occupations and avocations to which it is hoped Timothy’s ministry will share certain commonalities (particularly purposeful duties), amongst them soldier, athlete, farmer, bond-servant, and workman. Here is the surrounding context for the workman comparison:

“Remind them these things, solemnly charging them before God not to quarrel about words, for nothing profitable but to the subversion of those hearing. Hasten to present yourself approved to God, a workman not ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But avoid worldly, empty babblings, for they will lead on to more ungodliness, and their talk will have pasture to grow like gangrene, among whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have gone astray concerning the truth, asserting the resurrection already to have taken place; and they are overthrowing the faith of some” (2 Timothy 2:14-18).

What do we read next about the truth after it is first discussed in the context of the word of truth being rightly divided? We read about those getting things wrong and going “astray concerning the truth” whose words were worldly and empty. Their assertion that the resurrection had already happened is used as evidence of that. Whereas someone handling God’s word as diligently as a workman cutting a furrow straight will not result in the subversion of those hearing, those proceeding recklessly in matters of truth may do so.

Paul’s cautions along those lines were made clear previously (cf. 1 Timothy 1:18-20) and reinforced (2 Timothy 2:23-26) along extremely similar lines. What is abundantly evident in those verse as well as 2 Timothy 2:14-18 is the priority to accurately handle one’s duties to sharing the word of truth and to refute falsehood and quell vain speculations that might lead to falsehoods that affect the godliness and faithfulness of the believers. What is not clear is that the proof-texting from a verse of a handful of words — one of which appears nowhere else in the NT — definitively serves as the doctrinal “answer” presented in this article, nor is the justification clear for the given proof-text to sufficiently undergird the oft-problematic doctrine ladled out by this organization and presented here repeatedly.

“…the oft-problematic doctrine ladled out by this organization and presented here repeatedly.”

So what is the problem with the doctrine? It simply provides an answer to sincere believers to why verses like this DO NOT WORK TODAY!

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

The reason those verses in the Word of God do not work today is because they are for another group of believers which will be living in a different period of time.

Those physical blessings and promises belong to the nation of Israel and their prophetic program to usher in the kingdom of God ON THE EARTH.

Luke 1:70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

We are presently living in the “dispensation of the grace of God. It was not ‘SPOKEN OF SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN”

Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

This time period was “kept secret”, so it is not a part of God’s prophetic program for the nation of Israel, nor our believers today some sort of “spiritual Israel”

        Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was NOT MADE KNOWN unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was KEPT SECRET since the world began

Today we are blessed with spiritual (not physical) blessings for our eventual destination is the heavenly places (after Satan and his angels are evicted).

Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Paul is the apostle to the Gentiles (nations), so HE is to be our example.
Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
Romans 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ TO THE GENTILES, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
1 Timothy 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, FOR A PATTERN to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
We are to use the example of the apostle Paul in following the risen, glorified Lord IN HEAVEN to follow our Lord Jesus Christ, not his earthly ministry, which was under the Mosaic Law to the nation of Israel.

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, GO NOT into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

        One last example should suffice:

        Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Do you want to try any of that today?

        Of course not.

Those verses will apply in another time period, that is not today. Hence, they do not work because you cannot force God to do something he is not doing today

Revelation 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

It is not because of sin in one’s life or a lack of faith, it is because those verses are not to use, or about us.

That “problematic doctrine ladled out by this organization” answers that. Your quoting Greek and the frequency of how often a word might be used does not, because CTH viewers use English.

1Corinthians 8:1 “… Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.”

How many instances of the virgin birth can you find in scripture? How many individual prophecies are necessary for each event?

God intends for the nations to read his Word in their own language, not to learn Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. However, that subject is beyond the scope of this post.

Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to ALL NATIONS for the obedience of faith

        One example will suffice

Acts 22:2 (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)

Acts 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Luke wrote in Greek. God intends for accurate translations of his word to have the same authority as the original manuscript, because he has promised to preserve his Word for us forever.

Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalm 119:89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

The issue I addressed dealt with the article’s using the handful of words towards a representation and proof of Biblical evidence of their brand of dispensational doctrine. In such a situation, the burden of proof is on the one making the contention. I presented context (and yes, the translation of a translated word, which writers of the articles have done countless time in citing meaning of the Greek word despite the English audience) to see if the author’s conflation of what he quoted and the doctrine to which he linked the repeatedly-cited proof-text bore out more clearly. As the context did not appear to do so but did amplify contrasts of truth and falsehood relating to the presence of the word of truth versus its absence, I found that noteworthy.

“How many instances of the virgin birth can you find in scripture? How many individual prophecies are necessary for each event?”

Again, the burden is on those using the verse snippet from 2 Timothy 2:15 to show that it directly applies to dispensationalism as applied to specific doctrine. Even there, the dividers can be divided on where the divisions occur (Acts 9 dispensationalists, Acts 13 dispensationalists, Pauline letter dispensationalists, Prison letter dispensationalists, etc.)

When my Mom came to live with us 7 years ago, at the age of 93, she was starting to the beginnings of Alzheimer’s. About a month after she came a local nature center sent out an email asking if anyone would take a feral cat that had showed up. It was tolerant of people but very wary, not all that social, and might make a good farm cat.

We had a cat already but our farm could stand another soI took my Mom and went down there in the truck. The cat, female Russian Blue mix about a year old, was there and when we walked up she came right over to my Mom. We agreed to take the cat but she wouldn’t allow either of us to pick her up- she walked the 300 feet or so from the office to the truck and when my Mom got in she jumped into the truck and sat with her.

It’s 7 years later and my Mom turned 100 a month ago. The Alzheimer’s is bad, she doesn’t even recognize her great-great grandson who has been around her for the entire time she’s been here but the cat sleeps with her and sits with her when she’sin the kitchen eating or looking out the window at the lake. My Mom recognizes the cat and when she’s in a wandering mode the cat will get up on the back of the couch and she’ll stop to pet her.

All cats aren’t like that but about the time you need one, or even a dog, one shows up.

People say that vaping is safe because you don’t burn any plant material but they never mention that Nicotine is an addictive, poisonous substance. Nicotine is also the basis for a pesticide called Neonicotinoid that has been in the news recently because the pesticide is thought to be decimating the bee population in America. Also, the people I know that vape cannot go 15 minutes without taking a few LARGE hits. It’s embarrassing to see MEN sucking on some weird thing all the time like a pacifier.

      ———————-

“Nicotine poisoning describes the symptoms of the toxic effects of nicotine following ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact. Nicotine poisoning can potentially be deadly, though serious or fatal overdoses are rare. Historically, most cases of nicotine poisoning have been the result of use of nicotine as an insecticide. More recent cases of poisoning typically appear to be in the form of Green Tobacco Sickness, or due to unintended ingestion of tobacco or tobacco products or consumption of nicotine-containing plants.

The estimated lower limit of a lethal dose of nicotine has been reported as between 500 and 1000 mg. Children may become ill following ingestion of one cigarette;[8] ingestion of more than this may cause a child to become severely ill.[5][9] The nicotine in the e-liquid of an electronic cigarette can be hazardous to infants and children, through accidental ingestion or skin contact. In some cases children have become poisoned by topical medicinal creams which contain nicotine.

People who harvest or cultivate tobacco may experience Green Tobacco Sickness (GTS), a type of nicotine poisoning caused by skin contact with wet tobacco leaves.”

Ah, the joys of regulatory capture. Who sets the standards to become doctors? Who trains new doctors? Who sets the rules for doctors? Who … Once you set up governing structures over anything, those governed end up dominating the governing structures controlling them. Lawyers are the easiest case.

Scientists aren’t regulated in general, but the government funds them, so scientists control the distribution of government grants. But when the government does regulate science, who are the experts?

Engineers are also a mixed bunch. Some work requires government qualifications, most don’t. Who sets and judges the qualifications, why engineers do, of course.

So, who regulates criminals? The government! There’s the main government criminal regulatory agency, the DOJ. Once again, it is obvious that crooks have captured the agency that regulates crime. But how many government agencies aren’t involved in criminalizing our actions so they can regulate us?

So, remember, who has the biggest incentive to run for Congress to pass laws? Criminals!

Note, I described Doctors and Lawyers having great motive to do so too. Lots of both in Congress, but Lawyers in Congress far outnumber Doctors. I will let the reader decide how much overlap there is between groups.

Perversely, Trump and Mulvaney, having fought and won against much of the unconstitutional behavior of the CFBP, may have insulated it from being unconstitutional.

Remember, she set it up outside of the control of both Congress and the President. They set regulations and prosecuted, judged and punished businesses for breaking the regs, all without supervision. And, instead of turning the fines over to treasury, they distributed the funds to political allies. The agency head even tried to anoint his own successor. Trump stopped a lot of that.

Expect Warren to be sneaking a lot of this garbage in to future laws, whenever Democrats are in control. Or even when working ‘bipartisanly’. THE UNHEEDED SECRET

“My kingdom is not of this world.” John xviii. 36

The great enemy to the Lord Jesus Christ in the present day is the conception of practical work that has not come from the New Testament, but from the systems of the world in which endless energy and activities are insisted upon, but no private life with God. The emphasis is put on the wrong thing. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God cometh not with observation, for lo the kingdom of God is within you,” a hidden, obscure thing. An active Christian worker too often lives in the shop window. It is the innermost of the innermost that reveals the power of the life.

We have to get rid of the plague of the spirit of the religious age in which we live. In Our Lord’s life there was none of the press and rush of tremendous activity that we regard so highly, and the disciple is to be as His Master. The central thing about the kingdom of Jesus Christ is a personal relationship to Himself, not public usefulness to men.

It is not its practical activities that are the strength of this Bible Training College, its whole strength lies in the fact that here you are put into soak before God. You have no idea of where God is going to engineer your circumstances, no knowledge of what strain is going to be put on you either at home or abroad, and if you waste your time in over-active energies instead of getting into soak on the great fundamental truths of God’s Redemption, you will snap when the strain comes; but if this time of soaking before God is being spent in getting rooted and grounded in God on the unpractical line, you will remain true to Him whatever happens.

The reason Trump mentioned crowdstrike, the Ukrainian Oligarch, and Hunter Biden in the phone call is over an organization called the Atlantic Council. The cofounder of crowdstrike is on the board, its partially funded by a rich Ukraine oligarch, the corrupt us state department colluding in 2016 against Trump and finally, does work with Burisma. Where is Hunter?

Anyone else having trouble with WordPress while on the TCTH page? I’ve got “manage your settings” and “manage your notifications” icons missing from the top right on any of the TCTH pages I’m on. My Site and Reader icons were missing from the upper left for a while, but are back now. This happened before and it took quite a while for WP to straighten it out.

Federal investigators reportedly going after political corruption involving huge Chicago electric utility Commonwealth Edison
    By Thomas Lifson – October 19, 2019

Democrat-dominated Chicago is widely reputed to be thoroughly corrupt, and it now looks as though federal prosecutors have turned over a lot of rocks and are going after the icky creatures crawling away.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

OK sports fans, the crane demolition has once more been postponed to sometime after noon on Sunday. Presumably the delay was coordinated with the Archdiocese (no one’s saying) as that would be the end of Mass in the big St Louis Cathedral and other churches/chapels in the Quarter where the noise and vibrations from the blasts and falls will be particularly loud/potentially damaging.

They’ve farther extended the evac and exclusion zones though there’s no indication that they’re going to close the I-10 that runs right by the edge of the exclusion zone. Problem is that there’ll be people driving by when the blasts go of some 300 feet in the air. Even if there is no spall that hits the Interstate the noise is guaranteed to shake up drivers, maybe even cause an accident. Then there’s the inevitability of gawkers, I can’t be the only one who realizes you’ve got a ringside seat to the blasts from the elevated I-10.

Thing that bothers me is that the wind after noon is guesstimated to be 7-to-10 MPH out of the southish. That will carry the dust and skew the noise to the north – right towards the I-10 a few blocks north. I’m sure the packs of salivating tort lawyer stalking the area have taken that into effect – this is going to be a feeding frenzy – so I’m hoping that someone decides to deal with the I-10 issue and if not well the new emergency hospital is immediately on the other side of the I-10 from the blast zone.
