Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Not Dying For Lack Of Love

It has been said that “the world is dying for the lack of a little bit of love.” When this statement is examined in the light of Scripture, however, it is found to be the exact op- posite of the truth. Listen to what God’s Word says about this:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

“God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8).

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (I John 4:9,10).

Many about us are dying in their sins, but not “for the lack of a little bit of love.” It is rather because they reject the great love that God has manifested to us in His Son. We are told in John 1:10,11 that “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.” This is the problem: men are rejecting His love. “And this is the condemnation,” says John, “that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light” (John 3:19).

But while others reject Him, you may accept Him as your Savior and know the joy of sins forgiven and of everlasting life, for “as many as received Him, to them gave He the power [Lit., right] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).

“The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into His hand.
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on Him” (John 3:35,36).

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

CA’s elites bureaucrats are showing yet another face of their soscialist paradise. Yesterdays’ P.J. Media’s Megan Fox recounts how Cal Fire ( CA’s Fire District bureaucracy ) is in th e4process of evicting Ham Radio operators’ transponder towers from state facilities ( unless they agree to pay for a facillities study, lease appplication and annual rental all of which could exceed $7K/site ) . Ham Radio – low frequency long range coverage – has traditionally provided an independent communication channel free to the taxpayer service provided and funded by operators and clubs . Past national disasters have shown just how valuable Ham backup coms have been. Fox opines perhaps the Hams are victim of their success as they are up and running for free for a long time while the state’s new geewhiz billion-dollar boondoggle cell system is an abject failure to date. One has to wonder if more than just jealously is at work here as the Ham Net also bypasses all the government controlled news and information outlets too !

Yes. I cannot recall ever seeing a plane that large land, stop so quickly (has to be rough on the tires), then BACK UP and do a three-point 180 on the runway. Amazing!

That’s the main reason it was designed/built back in the 50s. Here’s a few shots of them coming into Khe Sahn – remember that the NVA were in the surrounding hills with everything from mortars to heavy artillery zeroed in on the runway. These guys didn’t hang around as they could be heard on approach, the NVA could see the reception activity on the ground and they;’d fire ahead of the aircraft trying to hit it with shrapnel or make a hole that would take landing gear, and the plane, out.

When the plane cxouldn’t land that parachute extraction system (Low Altitude Parachute Extraction System – LAPES) was used or a wire stretched across the runway was raised as the plane ran over it, a hook attached to a cable was deployed and (hopefully) would catch the wire. In the parachute system a reefed chute was deployed, the load was unchained from the deck and when the loadmaster pressed thev pickle switch the chute deployed. In both cases the sudden drag caused the load – riding on platforms on a dual-rail system, had its forward motion with the aircraft sloweed and the plabr moved out from under it. Or was dragged out – depended upon whom your instructor was. The loadmaster not only had to worry about all of the bad guys shooting at the plane but if any part of that extraction system that was under tension broke the part attached to the plane came back like huge metal-cutting scythe. And if that chute didn’t deploy you had a loose load that could move backwards or forwards – again all happening while everyone in the area’s shooting at you.

Some on the 130s (123s and C-7s too) did stop to pick up bodies. Many that did didn’t have to, they were sitting ducks while the bodies were being loaded. Mostly those who had loads that were manually pushed off stopped as the cable and LAPES extractions were accomplished as the passing 130 went by in excess of 100 mph.

The aircraft operations were handled by a small USAF FOB at Khe Sahn with an Army Combat Engineer unit off to its right handling rapid runway repair or the bulldozing of damaged aircraft off of the operating strip. Those Engineers and the ones I worked with at forward sites were what convinced me to become an Engineer when the AF and I split the sheets.

Khe Sahn was bled on and abandoned more than once. To me the main sight that stays with me was a Marine unit that was scavenging the empty shell casing from the artillery, crew-served and individual weapons and hammering them into their trenchworks, base up, to build floors. That and the rats…the rats were legendary.

THE KEY TO THE MASTER’S ORDERS

“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.” Matthew ix. 38

The key to the missionary problem is in the hand of God, and that key is prayer not work, that is, not work as the word is popularly understood today because that may mean the evasion of concentration on God. The key to the missionary problem is not the key of common sense, nor the medical key, nor the key of civilization or education or even evangelization. The key is prayer. “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest.” Naturally, prayer is not practical, it is absurd; we have to realize that prayer is stupid from the ordinary commonsense point of view.

There are no nations in Jesus Christ’s outlook, but the world. How many of us pray without respect of persons, and with respect to only one Person, Jesus Christ: He owns the harvest that is produced by distress and conviction of sin, and this is the harvest we have to pray that laborers may be thrust out to reap. We are taken up with active work while people all round are ripe to harvest, and we do not reap one of them, but waste our Lord’s time in over-energized activities. Suppose the crisis comes in your father’s life, in your brother’s life, are you there as a laborer to reap the harvest for Jesus Christ? “Oh, but I have a special work to do!” No Christian has a special work to do. A Christian is called to be Jesus Christ’s own, one who is not above his Master, one who does not dictate to Jesus Christ what he intends to do. Our Lord calls to no special work: He calls to Himself. “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,” and He will engineer circumstances and thrust you out.

It’s starting to get pretty chilly at night, so it’s time to refresh those ‘winter emergency kits’ we all should have in our cars for the season. As I went through the items in ours, I noticed that a little ‘car kit’ of tools I had stuck in there had a VERY sticky handle. Nothing liquid in this bag at all – this is some kind of deterioration that happens on certain plastics as they age. I recall over the years having one or two items that did the same thing. So, I did a search and found that RUBBING ALCOHOL will remove that stickiness from plastic handles. Tried it and it worked like a charm!

Thought I’d share that tip, as well as remind those who live in cold areas – it’s time to refresh those winter E kits and put them back in your car!

‘They beat the crap out of me’: NBC director attacked by (black) mob doing Halloween dance in Midtown

By MIKEY LIGHT and THOMAS TRACY
    NEW YORK DAILY NEWS |
    OCT 15, 2019 | 9:54 AM

A gang of ghoulish bullies broke into a bizarre Halloween dance in front of a television director on his way to work, then pummeled the senior when he tried to walk around them, police said.

John Sullivan, 72, had just gotten off the train at Sixth Ave. near W. 43rd St. about 2:20 a.m. Monday and was heading to 30 Rockefeller Center when nine people in their early 20s suddenly blocked his path.

“They were circling around me, and they were pointing their fingers in my face. They’re dancing, and all of a sudden they’re punching me. They beat the crap out of me,” Sullivan, a technical director for Plaza Productions, an NBCUniversal affiliate, told the Daily News.

The group made “boo” noises as if they were ghosts, Sullivan recalled.

“The first guy shoved me, then they just started punching,” the New Jersey native told The News. “It went in for about 30 seconds. I didn’t go down. I fought back.”
