Ridiculous Shift – Adam Schiff No Longer Requires CIA Gossip for Impeachment Testimony…

Well, this was entirely predictable.  First the impeachment strategy needed the anonymous CIA gossiper to testify.  Then it leaked about how HPSCI Chairman Adam Shiff and his Lawfare staff actually created the “gossiper’s” silly third-hand complaint to an inspector general; who then changed ‘gossip’ rules to allow second and third-hand hearsay.

It was all becoming more brutally sketchy, and the impeachment jenga blocks were tenuous at best.  As a result, republicans were going to inquire about how the CIA gossiper constructed his complaint; and then the complaint attorney’s started saying the gossiper would not appear in person, but rather write more complaint letters instead of testifying.

The shift from sketchy testimony to “Dear Sir” letters was ridiculous in the extreme. So what happens next?  Well, this is predictable…. Chairman Adam Schiff now says there will likely be no gossiper testimony because now he doesn’t need it.  [@4:52 video]

[Transcript]  REP. SCHIFF: You know and I think initially, before the president started threatening the whistleblower, threatening others calling them traitors and spies and suggesting that you know we used to give the death penalty to traitors and spies and maybe we should think about that again. Yes we were interested in having the whistleblower come forward. Our primary–

MARGARET BRENNAN: Not anymore?

REP. SCHIFF: Well our primary interest right now is making sure that that person is protected. Indeed, now there’s more than one whistleblower, that they are protected. And given that we already have the call record, we don’t need the whistleblower who wasn’t on the call to tell us what took place during the call. We have the best evidence of that. We do want to make sure that we identify other evidence that is pertinent to the withholding of the military support, the effort to cover this up by hiding this in a classified computer system. We want to make sure that we uncover the full details about the conditionality of either the military aid or that meeting with Ukraine’s president. It may not be necessary to take steps that might reveal the whistleblower’s identity to do that. And we’re going to make sure we protect that whistleblower.

MARGARET BRENNAN: You know who was on that July 25th call? You know all the participants?

REP. SCHIFF: I can’t say that I do. But we now know what took place on that call. We are bringing in witnesses this coming week from the National Security Council, other State Department officials, to find out what they can tell us about the conditionality of this vital military assistance to an ally. The conditionality of this vital meeting between the two presidents and the president’s effort to dig up dirt on his opponent.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Quickly, do you regret saying that we, the committee, weren’t in touch with the whistleblower?

REP. SCHIFF: I should have been much more clear and I said so the minute it was brought to my attention that I was referring to the fact that when the whistleblower filed the complaint, we had not heard from the whistleblower. We wanted to bring the whistleblower in at that time. But I should’ve been much more clear about that. (read more)

  1. MD says:

The whole construct of this impeachment has two objectives
    1. Set a narrative that it is illegal to investigate your political opponent (in this case they were using placeholder Biden)
    2. Have a long drawn out impeachment inquiry to give Trump’s opponent something to throw at him. (collusion with foreign gov’s)

This was set up so when Hillary enters the race she can argue both points against Trump. I think this has fell apart on them because they were not ready to implement it when they did and had to rush it through. Biden was not supposed to still be in the race. Barr / Durham going on trips overseas to investigate caused them to enact it before they were ready. They were probably looking to have Biden out and put this out in November in conjunction with Hillary entering the race.

Or is it to establish that it is ok? In other words, to justify what was done to Trump.

Never mind that he was a private citizen who did nothing wrong and Biden was a sitting VP engaging in massive corruption and fraud.

The chairman is trying to hide a liability and embarrassment. If the squealer is put under oath, we can learn about ALL of the back-room manipulations, the multiple revisions, whether the ICIG had back and forth with the committee or others before the final filing.

A dead “whistleblower” is better than a blabbing “whistleblower” and if he/she is in danger it is from DEMS who don’t want the reveal.

So, I think, PDJT figured out a way to get a PHONEY version of the call, to his enemies. Fed it to a known leaker, whatever. Then, the dems, believeing it was real had to figure out a way to inject it into an impeachment inquiry, without saying how they came by the information.

      Hence, this whistleblower nonsense.

My version of this works with your wiretapping concept.
      1. Schiff received a version of Trump call from a WH or CIA SPY.
      2. Schiff recruits a Democrat operative within the CIA to introduce it into the mainstream by making a whistleblower complaint. Initially that fails due to being hearsay.
      3. ICIG Atkinson, former chief counsel to the DoJ Anti-Trump Division, helpfully changes the rules and applies them retroactively to allow rumors and hearsay.
      4. Acting DNI sees this for what it is, refuses to move it forward.
      5. Schiff makes a stink that DNI is in violation of requirements to disclose w-b complaints to his HPSCI committee.
      6. Schiff’s blow-puppet did not sign on for a public circus. Major risk that under cross-examination under oath, blower will reveal origins of the scheme.
      7. Keeping the blower from being questioned is an existential matter for Schiff and the Dems.

RE: Rape, Pillage, Plunder; American You’ve Been Had!

After 26 years of active duty and into my third year as a police chief, I published 12 of 15 of what I titled as; ‘A Soldier’s Lessons Learned’. They were to serve as the prelude to a book I was writing. The title of the book was meant to establish in a few words the overall conclusion of the book, which lays out in detail how the I arrived at each of the lessons learned. The original title of the book was; ‘Rape, Pillage, Plunder; American You’ve Been Had!’ Side Note: After B.H. Obama was elected to his second term the title was changed to: ‘Rape, Pillage, Plunder; American You’ve Been Had and It’s Your Own Damn Fault!’ Sadly, since Donald Trump came down that escalator Americans are being provided daily proof of the validity of the lessons learned and the title of the book! Soldier/Cop/Grunt, Retired

    A Soldier/Cop’s Lessons Learned

Note: In an attempt to bring the lessons learned into the current political climate I have inserted a short comment where I deemed appropriate.

    1. Soldiers (ground combat soldiers, that is) do not fight first and foremost for their country, the flag, motherhood, nor apple pie. Before all else, soldiers engaged in ground combat fight for their fellow soldiers and their unit.

Note: Were this one not true I fear to imagine how many of us combat veterans would have already lost all control and commence to apply our skills against those who pose the greatest threat to the American people!

    2. The Seven C’s of Leadership according to a 1980 survey of 1646 of Vietnam era ground combat veterans listed of the order of their importance are; Candor, Competence, Consistency, Commitment, Courage, Compassion, and Courtesy. The reason the soldiers in the survey chose the word “candor” is because to them candor encompasses both omission and co-mission. To a combat soldier lack of absolute candor, be it co-mission or omission, are equal sins! In short, soldiers expect/demand absolute candor from their leaders before all else.

Note: Members of Congress take note. In my opinion you on the left have proven you are masters of Co-mission, while you on the right have proven you are the masters of omission! In short, all of you have proven you are cowards and trying to instill the Seven C’s of Leadership in any of you is a waste of time!

    3. Omitted.

    4. The American people are the most effectively lied to people in modern times thanks primarily to the American political class, the American bureaucracy, the American media, and American academia.

    5. Arrogance coupled with ignorance equals stupidity.

    6. The greatest threats to the American people are the corrupt and/or incompetent politicians/bureaucrats/academicians found at every level of government/academia, and the majority of the American so-called media.

    7. Most of the politicians/bureaucrats/academicians I have encountered during my years as a soldier/cop I most kindly refer to as; self-serving, witless, cowards.

    8-13. Omitted.

    14. After carefully watching the whole of the political class since Donald J. Trump walked down that escalator in Trump Tower to date, I can say without reservation that most of the group will sell their souls and our bodies just to remain in power. (Added 2019)

Note: Sorry, not enough room herein to start to list the individual personalities whose activities will provide absolute proof of this statement. But, one might want to start with B & M Obama, B & H Clinton, J & H Biden, etc…

    15. Want to see what the United States of America will look like if the left takes control of the government? Take your pick, New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or the complete package; California. (Added 2019)

    Soldier/Cop/Grunt, Retired

    PS

Please, one final note: Contrary to the implications of several of my lessons learned, I have long ago abandoned any desire to negate (Negate, the procedure that the British SAS [Special Air Service] utilizes to transfer subjects from the persons of interest list to the persons no longer of interest list.) those of the any of four communities who would threaten and/or interfere with soldiers/cops actions to protect/serve the American people. No, these days I would support rounding up the most obnoxious of the communities, issuing each of them a tent and a bus ticket to California, and instructing them that if they leave California it best be on a sailboat (must consider the environment you know) heading to China!

Schiff has repeatably demonstrated a problem with making very public false statements.

No idea about today’s standard for maintaining a security clearance but am sure in the past a pattern of going out of one’s way to make false statement, even in private, is cause for immediate suspension pending further review for revocation. Chronic liars are not trustworthy for clearances.

Given that clearances are issued at the pleasure of the Executive I see no reason to allow his to remain active.

Unless it is to give Schiff a reason to prove something very nefarious that we all know – subverting the Constitutional Electoral Process and MASSIVE civil rights violations in attempting to disenfranchise those who voted for Electors pledged to Trump. “The real problem would be the precedent of a de facto intelligence community veto over elections..

“..the people pushing hardest for Trump’s early removal are more dangerous than Trump.

“The Trump presidency is the first to reveal a full-blown schism between the intelligence community and the White House. Senior figures in the CIA, NSA, FBI and other agencies made an open break from their would-be boss before Trump’s inauguration, commencing a public war of leaks that has not stopped.

“…a bold new foray into domestic politics by intelligence agencies that in recent decades began asserting all sorts of frightening new authority

“…with the FBI engaging in tens of thousands of warrantless searches involving American emails and phone numbers under the guise of combating foreign subversion.

    “…an unprecedented act of insubordination.

“A shocking number of these..former intelligence officers who joined Clapper in becoming paid news contributors.
…the danger posed by Facebook, Google, and Twitter..

“We are speeding toward a situation when someone in one of these camps refuses to obey a major decree, arrest order, or court decision, at which point Americans will get to experience the joys of their political futures being decided by phone calls to generals and police chiefs.

“Many Americans don’t see this because they’re not used to waking up in a country where you’re not sure who the president will be by nightfall.

“They don’t understand that this predicament is worse than having a bad president.

“I’ve lived through a few coups. They’re insane, random, and terrifying, like watching sports, except your political future depends on the score.

“The kickoff begins when a key official decides to buck the executive. From that moment, government becomes a high-speed head-counting exercise. Who’s got the power plant, the airport, the police in the capital? How many department chiefs are answering their phones? Who’s writing tonight’s newscast?

“We have long been spared this madness in America. Our head-counting ceremony was Election Day. We did it once every four years.

“That’s all over, in the Trump era.

Schiff by now probably dimly realizes that his “whistleblowers” can’t refute a transcript, especially when the other party on the call has repeatedly spoken out. He has to continue his anti-Trump diatribe while also trying to deflect actual attention away from what’s been going on in Ukraine and many other places around the world: crimes that he himself has been very involved in, just as everyone else in DC very routinely was until “this man Trump showed up.”

At the end of the day, this is what all of this is really about: Organized Crime, now fearing exposure. Period.

    ATTACHING CLASSIFIED INFORMATION
Since THIS whistleblower complaint included CLASSIFIED INFORMATION, there should be a phone log of the whistelblower calling the ICIG hotline number listed on the form.
I’ll bet that the whistleblower simply took all that CLASSIFIED INFORMATION over to Schiff / HPSCI instead. Which means there almost certainly EVIDENCE that Schiff and the whistleblower violated classifed submission procedures.

    NAME DISCLOSURE
There SHOULD BE a form where the whistleblower agreed that his identity would be disclosed if the ICIG determines that such disclosure is unavoidable.
I’d have to say that going to Adam Schiif for help in filing a whistleblower complaint clearly makes it unavoidable for such disclosure

$10,000 FINE AND 5 YEARS IN JAIL – “ALL OF THE STATEMENTS MADE IN THIS COMPLAINT ARE TRUE…” NOT “THE STATEMENTS I MADE ARE TRUE…”

Schiff had the whistleblower sign off on $10,000 fine and 5 years in jail, that all of the statements in the complaint are true. That does NOT have a “hearsay exception”.
Whisteblower’s attorney just realized that Schiff’s people had him VOUCH for the truth of the hearsay, at a cost of $10,000 or five years in prison.

THAT is why the Whistleblower wants to remain anonymous.
