As the old adage goes, if a falls in a forest and nobody hears it, did it make a sound?

If the Liberal Press doesn’t report this story, will it have an effect? This is an affirmation that this is more a coup than previously imagined.

        Julia,
A few of us here believe that published indictments, arrests, and trials will serve to neutralize attempted spin.

A further benefit will be the increasingly transparent relationship between the Marxists and their media will be further revealed.

Over time, as a friend points out, it will become apparent that the media runs with and defends criminals. That’s not a positive position to maintain in the public or investment arena.

Do you remember that there was an investigation into Hands Up Don’t Shoot Gentle Giant? Police proven correct…the narrative still stands for many. Same with the skittles hoodie wearing thug in FL. Trial, proof…false narrative still “truth” to many.

I run into many people who truly don’t know due to a media that pretends not to know.

One of our jobs on social media is to engage and educate…or at least try.

Military veterans currently serving in the House need to ban together, form a caucus–we have a black caucus, a freedom caucus, a loud mouth anti-American caucus led by AOC, we need a caucus of tough, patriotic, military-minded, courageous men and women to stand up now against all of this.

The Dem’s have foisted a soft coup, a civil war upon our nation. Why can’t we have a soft military take over? This constant onslaught of lies, deceit, cover-up’s and sedition cannot stand. We need military might using weapons of fidelity to oath, honor of Flag, words of truth and justice, enforcement of standing law and Constitutional guidelines.

What I want to know is how was that being done? The article doesn’t mention that. Was the Ambassador using Ukrainian intelligence or US intelligence to monitor journalists? To me it makes a big difference if she was using US intelligence! Using Ukrainian intelligence in a country that corrupt would be easy to do. Using our intelligence to spy on American journalists abroad would be another violation of our Fourth Amendment! If so the US intelligence community has become Big Brother! Well we all know obama didn’t like journalists even though the msm were his sycophants! Washington DC corruption seems to be everywhere! God help us to end all of it!

I think the only answer is for the White House to have a website where news can be posted as well as government topics of the day. Perhaps the FEC can punish news outlets who actually refuse to post the news and have them declared opinion channels instead. Someone needs to fight back. They should be forced to read the actual news for five minutes an hour and they can try to dispute it for the next 55 or they can no longer be called news.

The EU countries who, through their multi-cultural diversity policies which “bred” the future jihadi’s, are about to find out what true open borders look like.

Once their “citizens” show up at their borders/customs, what will they do? They’re at Erdogan’s mercy and he’s upped the ante (bribery) to keep the ISIS fighters and their “war brides/children”, but even that will eventually become unsustainable. Turkey has so many Syrian refugees, there is internal strife among the various sects within Turkey, and hey, the Euro only stretches so far.

Merkel & Macron thought their 2015 We Are The World program would strengthen alliances between EU and ME “refugees”, as if the steady increase of “immigrants” from non-democratic countries after WWII wasn’t a predictor of future behavior. A UN study of the 2015 migration statistics show 60% of the influx have no ties to war ravaged Syria, are from countries other than war torn countries, and are there for “economic” handouts.

Couple that with the threat of Brexit, as well as other EU countries (who contribute v take) watching closely, the desire of their citizenry to follow (pull out) of the EU has Merkel in quite a pickle. Of course when all hell breaks loose, she’ll be safely ensconced in her well guarded castle in Brussels.

No, none of this is sustainable. I don’t care what the polls show, the genie is out of the bottle and globalism is so passe.

Using the the philosophy of “all it takes for evil to win is for good people to do nothing” I viewed Americans exceptionalism and power as a reason we have a responsibility to use our military, if necessary, to fight bad people in other parts of the world. I have also viewed the libertarian stance of isolation as dangerous.

Trump is the first president I have trusted to try to reduce our military efforts around the world. I’m not convinced yet that it is the best position but given the leadership skills he has demonstrated combined with his world order doctrine using economics, I’m willing to give a shift in our policy a chance to see if his new methods can help us not have to fight as much.

Biggest problem for bad guys is there are no leaks, as usual, so they are going overboard to try to get information. Letters of demand vs subpoens, disclosure of grand jury testimony, cherry picking committee testimony to shore up the troops, etc. Sheer panic, IMO.

This kind of revelation at this point, after Maria announced that the report was as thick a telephone book, scares the hell out of those who thought they had their bases covered. Same thing with the Romania stuff coming out now. Nothing is coincidence.

That’s actually not a big deal. Remember, Horowitz was tasked with investigating whether or not the FISA system was abused, did people follow rules and guidelines, were the courts lied to, etc. That’s an internal review. Since the FISA warrant requests themselves act as a kind of baseline in this investigation, something to judge evidence against (i.e. does what FBI Agent Jones found out corroborate whats in the warrant request or show Page’s innocence), unless there’s something in them that Horowitz’s team couldn’t gather from internal sources there’s really not much need to talk to Page.

Is anyone just a tad concerned that both the AG AND his top investigator are (need to be?) TOGETHER on trips to various European countries?

    I wonder about:
    (1) the immediate implication that trusted personnel at the DOJ are so sparse on the ground that only the AG and his Prosecutor are able to investigate.
    (2) The longer term implications if indeed there are so few patriots left in the DOJ
    (3) The possible negative security implications of these two key players travelling together in (unfriendly?) foreign countries.

I think it actually goes a little beyond that. Barr has given every indication that he’s mostly (important word there), a straight shooter. He knows the political game and I do think he has a respect for “the institution”.

That said, I think Sundance’s take on the this very subject the other day is pretty dead on: Barr doesn’t have much choice but to go on these trips if he wants to get his arms around this as quickly as possible. I actually think he’s a “cold anger” kinda guy given his responses to whether or not he thought the Mueller Report was well written and if it was a strong legal document. He knows the score.

But even more than that, I think Barr’s “respect for the institution” is running headlong into the reality of what occurred from 2016-2018. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say something I know won’t be popular: I think it’s his respect for the institution that will end up compelling him to bring down a hard thunder upon those who have sullied her reputation. When you love and respect something, you fight for it when you see it being destroyed for something as dirty and fleeting as political power.

That’s just my opinion. It and $3 will get you a cup of coffee at many fine dining establishments.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today sent a letter to Michael Atkinson, Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, after his evasive testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence during a closed hearing on September 26.

Inspector General Atkinson repeatedly refused to answer questions about the political bias of the “whistleblower”, despite being in a closed session and despite this information being unclassified.

The Inspector General wouldn’t reveal this information to the Senate Intelligence Committee, but later revealed it to the House Intelligence Committee.

From Cotton’s letter to the ICIG: ‘Your disappointing testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee on September 26 was evasive to the point of being insolent and obstructive. Despite repeated questions, you refused to explain what you meant in your written report by “indicia of an arguable political bias on the part of the Complainant in favor of a rival political candidate.”

When I read that I thought, where have I heard that language (indicia of an arguable political bias on the part of the Complainant in favor of a rival political candidate) before?

That’s right, I heard it in the Carter Page FISA application. Remind me, where was Atkinson working at the time of the FISA application?

I wonder if the money actually came and they were assuring the investors “we’re still working on the details with the providers”. These types of scam artists don’t care where or how, as long as they get the money. I have no doubt that this is the tip of the iceberg for Jim Biden.

I salute the president for removing troops from Syria. We have no business being the world’s policeman and the Middle East has suffered war and conquest for countless centuries. We don’t belong there in the middle of it.

We no longer need their oil. It’s time to let those countries take care of themselves. They are not extensions of our 50 states. Too many lives and too much taxpayer money have been wasted. Sure, we have allies all over the world, but that kind of foreign entanglement also led to a gigantic, disastrous and pointless conflict known as World War I. We don’t need to keep repeating such events.

“I held off this fight for almost 3 years, but it is time for us to get out of these ridiculous Endless Wars, many of them tribal, and bring our soldiers home,” stated President Trump.

We must also end the war in Afghanistan. No more empire. Take care of America first. Bring the troops home.

This wasn’t a simple mistake. What this signals is that the Chinese have a straight line right through ESPN production/editorial to control the messaging to their investment.

Again, people are sleeping on the ESPN side of this and focusing on the NBA. ESPN is the bigger story because they’re a *news organization* (tied to ABC) and they do whatever the Chinese tell them to.

Discussed this last night, too. That they used the Chinese propaganda map on their American broadcast tells you all you need to know how far ESPN will go to appease the CPC.
I maintain this NBA/China scandal is not even the most outrageous part of the story. The real scandal is ESPN, the “worldwide leader in sports” journalism actively running interference on the story. Largely because:

    A) ESPN invested heavily in the NBA, with broadcasting rights and a need to protect the brand because of their investment.
    B) They make a non-significant portion of that investment back on NBA-related advertisers like Nike, who are *heavily* invested in China, both in market concerns and production infrastructure.
and C) ESPN is owned by Disney, which is a corporation that depends on the Chinese market (and bows to their censorship) for their entertainment properties like Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney Studios.

This is the real scandal. The default American sports journalism entity, that has completely bowed to a communist government, to protect their market share and investments. What the NBA has done is bad. What ESPN has done *to protect them* should make every American sick.

This is what I think the Dems’ plan is.

1 – The Democrats know the current impeachment trick isn’t going to work. It is a vehicle to drum up fake polls showing Americans souring on Trump.

2 – Remember “VOTE HARVESTING”? I think 2016 was a trial run and it worked like a charm. Did Republicans legally challenge any vote harvesting? I don’t recall that they did. (Thanks, Ronna McDaniel, niece of Mitt Romney)

3- Next up, 2020. The Dems will have their VOTE HARVESTING machine out everywhere, not to win the presidency, but to steal the Senate. I almost think they want Trump to win so they can hand him the disgrace of impeachment and removal from office. That should warn anyone from outside the swamp to run for president ever again.

And who will question that the Dems won the Senate, after all, all the polls showed that Trump was crashing in the polls over impeachment.??

4 – Once they steal (vote harvest) the Senate, impeachment will slide right through.

5 – They’re already implying that Pence is “dirty” too, so he’ll be easy to impeach too. They’ll steal the Senate and vote harvest to keep the house. Geez, why not, the Republicans hardly whimpered at such obvious voter fraud in 2016.

6- Then the Dem. speaker of the house will be President. And you know what’s next? Kavanaugh. They’ll impeach Kavanaugh. Maybe even Gorsuch. They’ll remove all of Trump’s appointments, because, now they can.

I hope Ronna McDaniel, niece of Mitt Romney, has our own vote harvesting plan up and running by November 2020. Because, we probably won’t win without it.

The only thing that might upset this plan is Barr and Durham, and they’d better step it up quickly.

This is about the Supreme Court (I suspect Ruthie is sicker than we know) and sending a message that no presidential candidate will ever dare to take on the swamp – ever again.

Speaking of SCOTUS, is Clarence Thomas back ? Does anyone know what’s wrong with him that is so serious that he had to miss the opening of court this week? If it’s serious, that’s another reason the Dems are striking. When Nancy is President, she’ll get 3 Supreme Court appointments. How cool would that be ?

The will of God will always prevail. I believe God has anointed President Trump to expose all the DC corruption and end it. Of course it does. Why? You know for certain when it starts? The problem with Christian “prophets of doom” is no one knows when the end will come. It could be tomorrow, next week, next year or in 50 years. If Christians miss read the season of time we’re in and believe the end is very near they give up, stop fighting evil, lose hope that anything can be done and what’s the point if it all ends tomorrow? That kind of thinking aids the evil one. I believe we are called to fight to the very end and never lay down our arms! Joshua 24:15 “then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,..But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Amen.

And to claim God will bless this country the same as He did under the founding Fathers. Yikes… we’re a long, long, long way from the morality of those Godly men and women. I actually believe He is judging the US over many recent legal decisions (i.e.. infanticide, abortion, same sex whatevers, the list is long.) Why wouldn’t He? If we don’t know what God’s plan is why did you mention the tribulation? You don’t believe God anointed President Trump and that’s fine we just disagree about that. No big deal. God has blessed America from our beginning despite our rebelliousness. America has been the greatest force for good and has made more sacrifices than any other country on this planet. We’re not a nation of angels as you point out no doubt. I just happen to believe that God still loves America and is using President Trump to restore us to a greater force for good. There are many Christian’s who believe we are under God’s wrath and has withdrawn His favor. I just don’t happen to be one of them. I pray and believe God is healing this nation. I also believe the election of President Trump was just the beginning of that restoration. You could be right in everything you wrote I just have a different view of what is going on in America and the world now. But it’s good to have different opinions expressed here on CTH they get me thinking outside my little corner of the world here in Texas.

a note I left for a lefty professor concerning this poll:
      ——————
OK, I’m circling back to this because it’s really disturbing to see this poll interpreted so badly. I’m obviously no Democrat, but at the same time I don’t think it’s healthy for anyone to have an entire political party believing its own spin to this degree.

If one is to pretend to education, then on has to be numerate as well as literate. If one is to pretend to seriousness, then one has to dive beneath the headlines, even when those headlines flatter one’s biases.

In reality, this poll is catastrophic for the Democrats’ impeachment effort. With a 49% D sample, only 51% could be found to support impeachment-and-removal. Which means that in the entire universe of non-Democrats (almost 70% of the real world electorate), just 3% of that universe supports impeachment-and-removal. The margin of error on the poll is 3%.

In other words, the Democrats have convinced no one but their own partisans of the merits of impeachment and removal. In order to get to 51%, the Democrats need all of their own voters (31%) plus another 20% out of the rest of the electorate.

This poll shows that the Democrats have between 0 and 6 of that 20 percent. Assuming a start point of zero, this month-long media blitz moved the needle 15% of the distance it needs to move to achieve a genuine majority in support of impeachment-and-removal.

Once we start accounting for things like NeverTrumpers (5% of GOP) and registered voters vs. likely voters, these numbers are even worse for Democrats – they haven’t moved the needle with independents, the people they are most likely to persuade, at all.

If Democrats make decisions moving forward on the belief that a majority for impeachment-and-removal has already been achieved, they will be basing their political strategy on a demonstrably incorrect premise, and have little chance to succeed in any impeachment-related objective.

As a side note… all politically interested conservatives are already capable of doing this exercise. We learned how to do it en masse in 2016, how to un-spin the polls by looking at the internals, to obtain more reliable and accurate readings of the electorate. Until Democrats also learn to do this and not simply accept at face value that which they want to believe, conservatives will always be working with better information and have significant strategic and tactical advantages.
