President Trump Explains The Big Picture: “The fact is, somebody had to take China on”…

During an oval office press conference today, President Trump took several questions about China and the U.S. trade confrontation.  After receiving the third question, on the same subject, President Trump paused and then went deep into the heart of the issue.

The question was: ” Mr. President, you keep insisting that your trade war with China — the trade war with China is not affecting the U.S. economy. But a lot of economists disagree with that. And they worry that if China goes into a recession, they’ll pull us down with it.”

Here is President Trump’s response:

.

[Transcript] … PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well — well, okay. Let me — let me tell you something. Number one, we’re doing very well as an economy. But somebody had to take China on. You know, I read and I see so much and I read so much, and I’ll see these economists saying, “Oh, give up. Give up on China. Give up.”

China has been ripping this country off for 25 years — for longer than that. And it’s about time, whether it’s good for our country or bad for our country short term. Long term, it’s imperative that somebody does this because our country cannot continue to pay China $500 billion a year because stupid people are running it.

So I don’t mind this question.

Whether it’s good or bad, short term, is irrelevant.

We have to solve the problem with China because they’re taking out $500 billion a year-plus. And that doesn’t include intellectual property theft and other things. And also, national security.

So, I am doing this whether it’s good or bad for your — your statement about, “Oh, will we fall into a recession for two months?” Okay? The fact is, somebody had to take China on.

My life would be a lot easier if I didn’t take China on. But I like doing it because I have to do it. And we’re getting great results.

China has had the worst year they’ve had in 27 years. And a lot of people are saying the worst year they’ve had in 54 years. Okay? And frankly, I don’t want that to happen, but it does put us in a good negotiating position, doesn’t it? And China wants to make a deal, and that’s good. But they have to make a deal that’s fair to us. It can’t be a deal that’s not fair to us.

And you should be happy that I’m fighting this and I’m fighting this battle, because somebody had to do it. We couldn’t let this go — I don’t even think it’s sustainable to let go on what was happening.

They were stealing all of our intellectual property ideas. The theft was incredible. They call it “intellectual property theft.” And they value it at $300 billion a year. Who knows how they value it? I know how to value dollars; I don’t know how to value intellectual property theft. But they have experts that say it’s at least $300 billion a year, where they steal it.

Somebody had to do something with China.

Obama should have done it.

Bush should have done it.

Clinton should have done it.

They all should have done it. Nobody did it; I’m doing it.

So what do you say? “Oh, my trade deals are causing them.” My trade deals aren’t causing a problem. This is something that had to be done. The only difference is I’m doing it.

I could be sitting here right now with a stock market that would be up 10,000 points higher if I didn’t want to do it. But I think we have no choice but to do it. And a lot of people that really know, people that love our country, they’re saying, “Thank you very much for taking it on.” And we’re winning because they’re having the worst year they’ve had in decades. And it’s only going to get worse.

China has lost 2 million jobs in the last month and a half because they’re moving — the people, the companies are moving to non-tariffed countries. They’ve lost over 2 million jobs in a very short period of time. They’re going to lose a lot more jobs. And if I didn’t help certain companies — there are American companies like Apple — for a very short period of time, I may help them, only until they do what they have to do, which is probably move from China. Because this would be a very short term. If I didn’t help them, they would — I mean, they would be — they would have a big problem.

Here’s the thing: Somebody had to take on what China was doing to the United States economically. We’re winning big. I took it on. And it should have been done by previous Presidents, but I took it on. And I’m happy to do it because it had to be done. And the smart people say, “Thank you very much.” And the dumb people have no idea. And then you have the political people, and they go with the wind.

But they all know — even Senator Schumer said, “Wow, Trump is doing a great job with China.” I couldn’t believe that. But Schumer thinks I’m doing the right thing. And he’s doing the right thing by saying it because he knows that China was a big economic threat. And they were taking all of that money that they were making from us, and they were building planes and ships and lots of other things. And we can’t let that happen.

    BOOM!

    The absolute essence of Trump

Brutal honesty. The way real people speak when they have no alternative motive. No political speak, just the unvarnished truth

    “Someone had to do it”

He’ll take the heat, because it had to be done, and it’s the right thing to do for America

That’s not a politician, it’s a leader, an absolute leader doing the job that must be done, no matter the push back or the consequences

The comparison between the President and the empty shells that make up the democrat candidates is stunning

Like President Trump, I’m really tired of stupid people (voters)

Never seen the President so passionate about a topic as he was yesterday about China. He really tore into everybody for selling our country out. He needs to keep pounding that message, since the MSM is hawking the recession BS and going to lay the blame on Trump because of his China tariffs.

Clinton sold out America in every way every day he was in office. There were PRC officials roaming the halls of the WH with bags filled with cash! Corrupt officials like the Clintons and 0bamas, both Democrats and RINOs, spend every day thinking, “How can I steal stuff from Americans and get money from it?” It really is that simple, which is why PDJT drives the Uniparty DC Swamp to distraction, because he’s actually helping Americans rather than monetizing them!

In big, fat, Greek Wedding style, Pres. Trump is a “deontological ethicist”, one who takes “right action” regardless of “situational” context or convenience because political procrastination such as we’ve seen since 1988 eventually proves fatal.

As noted previously, the timing here not only ties perfectly with the end of Globalists’ exploitative 72-year postwar era from 1945 – 2017 but anticipates ChiComs’ similar three-generation turning-point from Mao’s brutalitarian golpe, due 2021 as Trump’s second-term momentum gathers force.

As Red Rats’ commissars meet their comeuppance, and inverse “Social Credit” scores become a badge of honor, Hsi’s snuffle-grunting Tientsin Tigers will fail at bending China’s Arc of History anew.

And therein lies the rub. Many Dimms could care less about America because they’ve been brainwashed that America and Americans are evil and that China is superfine and that all humans should be allowed to migrate to anywhere they want to go, free of responsibilty, accountability, free of criminality because they are “human beings” they are entitled to your property because they are human beings.

This is the Omar theme. This is the Pelosi theme. This is the 2020 Dimm Presidential theme. We are now tight with the United Nation’s theme. And when they’re feeling weak in their logic, they idealize China. After all, China is a communist country. They can ignore China’s faults.

          Three reasons, IMHO.
          1. The Democrats have never been held accountable for their decisions…..They sling poo against the wall and make someone else clean it up. When questioned, they shrug their shoulders and say, We meant well.
          2. They don’t have to live with the consequences of their policies….When the President, earlier this said that he was going to ship all the illegals to sanctuary cities, what did the liberal Governors and Mayors do? The cried and yelled that the President was trying to punish them. Didn’t they declare that they were giving sanctuary? Wouldn’t they want them? The Rich White liberals that inhabit liberal cities all over the US, live in the WHITEST, SAFEST, MOST EXCLUSIVE neighborhoods around. They love to support Dem policies, but not live with the consequences. It’s ok if Maria the Illegal comes over to clean the house and do the laundry, but she has to leave as soon as the work is done. She isn’t allowed to live down the street. Juan the Illegal can come and cut the grass or repaint the house, but he can’t live down the street either.
          3. They’re lazy and just want free stuff. And the Dem party is promising free stuff.

Wow, spot on, and very well said! And maybe that’s the core of why they “hate America” — they actually hate themselves for being so absolutely hypocritical, of living such a hypocritical life, so selfish and narcissistic. But because they don’t want to consciously “deal with it” they project it away from themselves, onto others. Western civilization in general has a lot of this, it seems.

One of the Agenda 21 goals is population control. There are about 26% of America that are stalwart (R) voters.

The rest are independent “swing voters” like me. I’m registered to vote but have no party affiliation. While I’m Conservative, I voted for Senator Barbara Mulculski (D-MD) [retired] because she really worked to help MD voters.

That said, PDJT is working hard to capture the Indie votes, and is bringing (D) voters into his tribe, because of “kitchen table issues.”

The (D)s may broker a deal at their convention to have Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey as their ticket, but the overwhelming truth is that American Swing Voters ALWAYS VOTE THEIR POCKET BOOK!

Stating “corrupt politicians sold out the average American citizen to China, hurting the middle class and gutting the economy” is true . . . but it is something most Americans already know at a base level, and stating it in typical political speak gets lost in the shuffle of news.

Sometimes America needs a kick in the you-know-what to understand the perilous nature of where we are as a country and the gravity of the situation. The method PDJT uses to inform the public of some of the most salient, potent doses of medicine is the greatness in him as a leader. Unvarnished. Brash. Pointed. In-Your-Face Clear. Everyone can understand.

The added bonus is that this brash way of putting the issues rubs people the wrong way getting them to talk about it. Bingo. And there’s your huckleberry.

I was at University in the early 90s when the Soviet Union and Global Communism imploded. The reaction for the Think Tank and Intelligencia crowd was probably my first wake up call:

Instead of clapping and giving high-5s that the Cold War was over and we’d won —- they shed tears. Moaning about how things were — worse off — because we’d now have a “Unipolar” World and nobody and no coalition of states would be able to “stand up to” the American “Hyper-Power”…

This was coming heavily from the Western Europe we’d just pulled out of 3 world wars and prevented them from being gobbled up. But it was also coming heavily from within the US think tanks and MSM…

At this same time — they pointed to China as the last best hope……as Big Finance + Conglomerates sped up the transferring of manufacturing and $ to China.

It wasn’t until some years later that I began to find out about the roll Big Finance had in backing Lenin and crew —- after Western Europe sheltered him and the likes of Marx — and sent them to overthrow the Russian monarchy…

.and it seems fairly clear with the benefit of hindsight —- after Stalin upset the apple cart with his megalomania — and after Mao’s memory had faded in China for a couple of decades —- the Big $ behind Globalization picked China as their champion to establish Feudalism 2.0….

The Big Lie nightmares predicted so clearly by Yevgeny Zamyatin and George Orwell flourish more boldly than ever – but in London, Washington and New York, not in Moscow or Beijing.

Yet the Big Lie is dying on its feet: It has delivered suffering, misery, uncertainty and even terror to the subject populations on whom its devotees have imposed their creeds …

Throughout the Western world … national leaders have emerged who are seeking to defy the suicidal principles of open borders, unlimited trade and immigration flows that the supra-national institutions of the past 75 years are trying to impose upon them.

          From the above article:
“In the years since Freeland and Justin Trudeau’s ascendancy to the throne, Canada’s use in a geopolitical “great game” has been one of corralling flocks of sheep towards emotionally-driven policies such as de-industrializing to fight global warming, promoting self-enslaving free trade acts, “democratic” regime change and in some cases, risking outright nuclear war.”

I am Canadian & probably Trump’s biggest supporter here in “Socialist Canada”! I am not influenced one-bit by the “lying MSM” here, because I am “old-school educated” as I grew up on a farm, went to a one-room schoolhouse where Mrs. Morley taught the “4 R’s” to Grades 1 thru 8! I went to Grade 4 there & walked 1/2 mile to school & then when the larger public school was built about 7 miles away, I had to ride the school bus daily.

I can see why most of Trump’s supporters come from Middle America, as we who grew up in the country tend to be Conservative & are smart-enough not to fall for all the Socialist Liberal BS like man-made global warming, LGBT rights (where less than 2% of the population is trying to tell the rest of us how we should be living our lives), “Diversity is our Strength” BS, etc. etc.

There are something like 28% of American voters are brain dead zombies, who will, like Pelousi said, “vote (D) if a glass of water were running” for that seat.

PDJT is right: we Indies HAVE TO vote for him, and we will!

Another post promoted to a stand alone, to give it visibility:
In poker, they have the concept of “the tell.”

(D)s and (R)s have a tell that is infallible. When speaking, (R)s always say “What do you think about…?” while (D)s always say, “What do you feel about…?”

    Everyone “tells” who they are.

It should be understood that we are not trying to drive China back to the stone age. We are eliminating protective tariffs and currency manipulation. Once that is accomplished, if China can deliver quality overseas for a price, then let’s trade. And, China will be much the better for it. Lets be sure China understands the benefits coming from a productive negotiation.

Sure, but let’s be real. China’s business model is based on IP theft. If they are stopped from doing it they’ll sink. So, yes, in the meantime we operate in good faith, and if they can engage with us in a new, fair, trade deal then great…. but if they can’t, that’s not our problem.

Socialism/Communism doesn’t create a workable economic model when compared to a free market capitalist society. They really can’t compete and retain their ideology without stealing.
The hope is they slide into a system more like Hong Kong rather than forcing Hong Kong into a failing system like theirs.

      • I can’t quite set a date for it yet, but it’s pretty clear to me that the last national bastion of Communism is soon going to fall. The Chinese will simply “turn the page” on this curious blip in their ancient history, just as the former-Soviets did. The years of [failed …] Communist rule will pass from Chinese memory.

Trumps Asking Denmark to sell Greenland was not crazy..it was a BRILLIANT message We will not tolerate any Chinese business in Greenland..We can stay..by Treaty..since 1941 as long as we perceive a threat to NA..With the enormous Trade Denmark has experienced with China, one of its top 3 trading partners …It was becoming a clear threat to our national security interests in the arctic.
Greenland is the hub for the North American Space command..and this gesture to buy (not really) ..was a message to both China and Denmark…

The fact that it can be “bad for our Country short term” and that President Trump is willing to go into this battle now instead of after being re-elected shows the urgency.
I remember that China treated President Trump as royalty when he first visited. I thank God he didn’t sellout like other Presidents. I still wonder why they treated President Obama so badly…

The Media will never show the big picture. People are already getting antsy and it may reflect in the polls that they love to show. We have to keep the faith. Keep praying and sharing articles like this one from the The Tree House as often as possible.

They probably treated Obama badly because they could sense the weakness emanating off of him like bad cologne. They knew they didn’t have to suck up to him to get their way – they could just impose their will and Obama wouldn’t fight back. Not so with Trump…

“… the trade war with China is not affecting the U.S. economy. But a lot of economists disagree with that.” Every time I read a phrase like that I’m reminded of the old saw that if you laid a thousand economists end-to-end they wouldn’t reach a conclusion.
