Reminder the DC Outrage Trap Has a Purpose…

…Every minute spent outraged at what Muller did yesterday, is one minute less that Bill Barr has to be worried about being held accountable for what he is not doing today..

With Robert Muller scheduled to testify tomorrow; and considering his chief handler will be sitting beside him; and accepting that both have coordinated, scripted and rehearsed the appearance with the House committees for several months; it is worth reminding everyone about the DC two-step.  A predictable outrage trap which should be avoided, but won’t be….

The issue(s) surround the aggregate investigation of candidate, president-elect and President Donald Trump.  Those who participated in the soft-coup and ongoing impeachment effort would like nothing more than to discuss all of the DOJ and FBI actions they took when faced with the possibility that Vladimir Putin had installed a Russian asset in the White House.

All of the outrage about lying to the president-elect; hiding information from the president-elect/President; planting spies in the White House; placing bugs and seeking wiretaps and surveillance on the administration etc.  All of what is known, and buckets more action that is unknown – all of which will stir up jaw-dropping outrage, is exactly the narrative that benefits the DOJ/FBI and intelligence group.

The group would love to stir up the outrage into a frothing boil of shock and awe only so they can openly admit everything, and say: “yeah, so what?”  “What we faced was unprecedented; remember, the Russians attempted to influence the election; there was evidence Trump was participating…. What else were we supposed to do?”  Etc.

(FBI Declarations about Comey Memos)

The FBI, DOJ, ODNI, CIA and intelligence officials were intentionally not being direct and honest with President Trump and key members of his new administration. Obviously their lack of honesty was a serious issue, and in some cases had serious ramifications.

The expressed finding by Robert Mueller’s two-year probe of ‘no Trump-Russia collusion, no Trump-Russia conspiracy, and no Trump-Russia obstruction’ has led to some hindsight reviews where anger surfaces about the now visible deception. However, there is a trap laid here and Democrats are hoping outraged voices will walk straight into it.

Some have already jumped into the trap, and are baiting others to join them.

At 12:15pm on January 20th, 2017, Obama’s outgoing National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote a memo-to-self. Many people have called this her “CYA” (cover your ass) memo, from the position that Susan Rice was protecting herself from consequences if the scheme against President Trump was discovered. Here’s the email:

On January 5, following a briefing by IC leadership on Russian hacking during the 2016 Presidential election, President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Jim Corney and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in the Oval Office. Vice President Biden and I were also present.

President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book“.

The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.

From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.

[Redacted Classified Section of Unknown length]

The President asked Corney to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Corney said he would.

Susan Rice ~ (pdf link)

As stated, many have looked at this as a “CYA” memo, but that’s not what this is.

This is a justification memo, written by an outgoing National Security Advisor Susan Rice to document why there have been multiple false and misleading statements given to the incoming President Trump and all of his officials.

This is not a “CYA” memo, this is a justification memo for use AFTER the Trump-Russia collusion/conspiracy narrative collapsed; if the impeachment effort failed.

The “By The Book” aspect refers to President Obama and Susan Rice being told by CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, that President Trump was the subject of an active counterintelligence investigation to determine if he was under the influence of the Russian government.

Even the timing of the memo, written 15 minutes prior to the end of the Obama administration, is ex-post-facto useful as evidence of the author’s intent.

Put aside the nonsense aspect to the origination of the investigation for a moment; that part doesn’t apply here…. Accept their position ‘as if’ it is substantive.

We are talking about Brennan, Comey, Clapper and Yates telling President Obama and NSA Susan Rice that President-elect Trump is under a counterintelligence investigation where the suspicion is that Donald J Trump is an agent of a foreign power.

Under that auspices (fraudulent though it may be) the incoming President is a counterintelligence investigation target. A potentially compromised Russian asset. Under this auspices all of the officials would be permitted to lie and mislead their target, so long as they did so “By The Book.”

That’s their justification for a lengthy series of lies and false statements.

That’s why FBI Director James Comey can lie to the President and tell him he’s not the target of the ongoing Russia investigation. That’s the justification for keeping the accusations inside the Steele Dossier (remember, the Dossier is evidence) from the President-elect. That’s the justification for all of the officials to lie to President Trump, and even mislead the media if needed.

The Susan Rice email is one big Justification Letter; setting the stage for all of the participants to have a plausible reason for lies to anyone and everyone.

Call out John Brennan for telling Harry Reid about the Steele Dossier during his gang-of-eight briefing, but not telling Go8 member Devin Nunes about it. Brennan escapes by saying Nunes was on the Trump transition team; and briefing a conflicted politician on the dossier would have compromised the FBI investigation. See how that works?

Call out James Comey for lying to President-elect Trump during the January 6th Trump Tower meeting…. Comey escapes by saying Trump was a target of the FBI investigation for potential compromise as a Russian asset; informing the target of the evidence against him would have compromised the investigation. See how that works?

Every lie, every omission, every false and/or misleading statement, must first be filtered through the “By The Book” prism of Trump being considered a Russian asset. This is the justification trap democrats are waiting to exploit for maximum damage and diminishment of counter attack.

The “By the Book” justification, where every action could have been taken because Trump might have been an actual Russian operative, is the weapon under the camouflage tarp as the radical left lures-in their political opposition. They shrug their shoulders and say in condescending voice: ‘well, we didn’t know; we had to be prudent‘, etc.

Getting outraged about the Obama administration’s lies, misstatements and fabrications can backfire if you don’t first think about it from their constructed frame-of-reference.

The ‘By-the-Book’ framework is based on a false-premise; but the action, just about any action, taken to mislead (even undermine) the incoming administration is excusable under this carefully crafted justification memo. That’s exactly why Susan Rice wrote it; and each of the participating members knows they can use it, when needed.

The way to get around the legal and political defense inside this justification memo is to ignore the activity of those protected by it and go directly to the origin of how they created that false premise in the first place:

♦ President Trump can prove the July 31st, 2016, Crossfire Hurricane counterintelligence operation originated from a scheme within the intelligence apparatus by exposing the preceding CIA operation that created the originating “Electronic Communication” memo. Declassify that two-page “EC” document that Brennan gave to Comey.  [The trail is found within the Weissmann report and the use of Alexander Downer – SEE HERE]

♦ Release and declassify all of the Comey memos that document the investigative steps taken by the FBI as an outcome of the operation coordinated by CIA Director John Brennan in early 2016.  [The trail was memorialized by James Comey – SEE HERE]

♦ Reveal the November 2015 through April 2016 FISA-702 search query abuse by declassifying the April 2017 court opinion written by FISC Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer. Show the FBI contractors behind the 85% fraudulent search queries. [Crowdstrike? Fusion-GPS? Nellie Ohr? Daniel Richman?]  This was a weaponized surveillance and domestic political spying operation. [The trail was laid down in specific detail by Judge Collyer – SEE HERE]

♦ Subpoena former DOJ-NSD (National Security Division) head John Carlin, or haul him in front of a grand jury, and get his testimony about why he hid the abuse from the FISA court in October 2016; why the DOJ-NSD rushed the Carter Page application to beat NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers to the FISA court; and why Carlin quit immediately thereafter.

♦ Prove the Carter Page FISA application (October 2016) was fraudulent and based on deceptions to the FISA Court. Declassify the entire document, and release the transcripts of those who signed the application(s); and/or depose those who have not yet testified. The creation of the Steele Dossier was the cover-up operation. [SEE HERE]

♦ Release all of the Lisa Page and Peter Strzok text messages without redactions. Let sunlight pour in on the actual conversation(s) that were taking place when Crossfire Hurricane (July ’16) and the FISA Application (Oct ’16) were taking place.  The current redactions were made by the people who weaponized the intelligence system for political surveillance and spy operation.  This is why Page and Strzok texts are redacted!

♦ Release all of Bruce Ohr 302’s, FBI notes from interviews and debriefing sessions, and other relevant documents associated with the interviews of Bruce Ohr and his internal communications. Including exculpatory evidence that Bruce Ohr may have shared with FBI Agent Joseph Pientka. [And get a deposition from this Pientka fella] Bruce Ohr is the courier, carrying information from those outside to those on the inside.

♦ Release the August 2nd, 2017, two-page scope memo provided by DAG Rod Rosenstein to special counsel Robert Mueller to advance the fraudulent Trump investigation, and initiate the more purposeful obstruction of justice investigation. Also Release the October 20th, 2017, second scope memo recently discovered.  The Scope Memos are keys to unlocking the underlying spy/surveillance cover-up. [SEE HERE and SEE HERE]

In short, avoid the “justification trap” by ignoring the downstream activity (stemming as a result of the fraudulent origin), and focus on revealing the origin of the fraud.

I understand it like this. Every action taken by the coup plotters was justified. They are not the bad guys. If it all goes as planned, they will be viewed as patriots and national heroes who saved the republic. In their modesty they will refuse ticker tape parades in their honor.

I think he’s saying that if you ask them “Why oh Why did you lie to the President,” they have an answer – they suspected him of bad stuff! Perfectly good answer!! But if you ask “Where oh WHERE did these stupid accusations begin?” – then that is a question for which the bad guys are not prepared and where they have no defense and where their activities would scare everybody if known.

I believe one would then ask the basic questions – Where, what and why regarding
the evidence to conduct the “witch hunt”. What steps did you take to verify the evidence and the persons supplying the evidence? Who participated from foreign countries?
Look at the FISA warrants; who requested, who turned down the application previously and who rubber stamped the one they were able to use?

I believe the reasoning of why they did this will fall apart under scrutiny.

PDJT gets it. Coincidence or not, I’m pretty sure it was the same day Sundance first wrote about the JUSTIFICATION TRAP, that PDJT tweeted
“How did it all start, or what was the ORIGIN or something to that effect.

If you get DISTRACTED by being outraged, you turn your focus away from the ORIGIN.

And, unless you FOCUS on the ORIGIN, and EXPOSE the false premise therein, they can excuse EVERYTHING that they did, that makes you outraged.

Focus on the Origin, how did it START.
Actually, while these documents will PROVE how it started, we all KNOW.
These documents would prove it to the, world, and DESTROY the JUSTIFICATION.

THEN, once you have destroyed their justification, you can get as outraged as you want at all tje things they did, cause they can no longer hide behind this phoney justufication.

Expose it as false, and they are all naked and trying to hide their privates.

How did this crap start? Power. After 8 years of BHO policies and POWER – Comey, Brennan, and the others thought they knew how this country had to be run, and who had to run it. THEM. And along comes Trump. NO WAY would a RICH SUCCESSFUL outsider like Trump end their control. The Commies have been after the USA for years. America is the BIG prize. And HRC set them back 4 years, potentially 8 years (and hopefully 16 with a Pompeo POTUS) Anyone with a room temperature ID could see HRC was a terrible candidate. And they knew that. But what a great manageable drunken puppet POTUS she would have made. ‘Madam President, another Chardonnay with your morning muffin?’ ‘Leave the bottle’

Never question the lengths a communist will go to for power. I am waiting for the evidence to show the RATS put a hit on Seth Rich. See, THAT would be a real High Crime. This group of ruffian RATS have much to hid.

IF it can be proven, to the public at large that Russians didn’t have anything to do with DNC hack, than seth rich murder is obvious, but really the bigger crime, is that they didn’t CARE that they were damaging U.S. relations with Russia, hamstringing a new administration in ALL dealings with other countries, etc.
The scale and degree of corruption, is mind boggling.

      • cali says:

        @kp: I agree with you!

Here’s the thing though: Despite Susan Rice’s ‘cover-my-ass’ memo they didn’t stop and continued their coup attempts.

President Trump and his team have learned a lot since and could make the life of this plotters pretty miserable as the predicate which they based their spying and lying to the incoming president on a cooked up theory.

Mueller is in a pickle despite the accompanying Zebley that was added in the last minute.

The DOJ answered Mueller’s request how to proceed in clear terms and no matter what Mueller is obligated by law and assignment to follow the DOJ’s instruction.

Anything outside the scope of his submitted report could be construed as perjury and worse.

The recent exposure of Julian Assange stating that Seth and Aaron Rich provided the emails extracted from their DNC server could not be clearer. Assange also stated the same to president Trump’s designated Dana Rohrbacher that is undeniable ergo Mueller never interviewed Assange after Comey squashed the limited immunity Assange had to testify about the source of his expose.
Remember Warner’s back channel convo with Assange’s lawyer Adam Waldman?

If anything it is my personal belief that it will be Nadler and pencil neck Schiff walking into a trap.

If anything the trump card lies with DOJ Barr who can drop the moab aka declassification that will blow up this coup plotters scheme.

The issue here is how did this all start, what is the predicate? This is what one should focus on.

AG Barr made this point in his Congressional testimony. He said: there was spying, the issue is the predicate. Was the spying justified or not?

That is what the AG and Durham, and the IG need to get to the bottom of.

The AG has been very slow in releasing declassified documents. I would have thought that this needs to be done before the IG report is out, otherwise the IG will be unable to fully investigate matters, and will be unable to refer to key evidence which is relevant to his investigation.

That can only mean that now that a non uniparty man is candidate for republicans, now we are compelled to exonerate HRC. So that she can defeat him. And the Uniparty can proceed doing their uniparty things.

It is all one single conspiracy. The exoneration of HRC, the Smearing and spying on candidate Trump, the consequent sedition and attempted coup against nominee and then president trump. It is all one crime. The bogus national security is our catch all excuse part doesn’t work when it is seen in the proper light.

If the letter agencies become a topic of discussion I participate in, in any forum, I will do the same.

I believe that PDJT should “buy” air time on Thursday with a group of his Attorneys and lay out the entire cabal, from the HRC boondoggle, to the Mueller “testimony”.

How is it that Nadler and Schiff get to prep Mueller and his sycophants for 2-3 months, while the Repubs have to stand out in the rain?

Like so many Treepers, I need to see Barr act, I need to see results, I need to see indictments, I need to see jail for these treacherous actors!

Rudy Guliani stated tonight to Hannity that if the truth did not come out, he would bring it out on Thursday. Unfortunately Hannity talked over him, so something was lost. Hannity mumble about Rudy coming back on Hannity tomorrow night after the “testimony” of Mueller and his nose-guard.

IF it can be PROVEN that the,Russians, did NOT Hack the DNC servers, and that they KNEW itcwasn’t a Russian hack, that would go some way to revealing the nature of the origin.

More specifically, prove they KNEW, from day ONE, without a doubt that DJT was NOT a Russian agent, and their justification for ALL their actions goes

I agree. DJT is not going to waste this opportunity to expose the coup. One thing I’ve heard time and time again is that Trump is a fighter. If you punch him, he will punch back 10 times harder. Also, he is successful. I think he cares more about making America great than locking up idiots if he had to choose, but in this case, I think he can do both. It saddens me reading the lack of faith in the daily postings. Everyday SD starts off with the Lord’s prayer. Does it just get skipped over, and the only thing people care about is that maybe today we will read there is justice? I believe God will deliver whatever justice is needed, and no one controls God. Call me old fashioned or naive, but I think most readers of this site want our tried and true values and beliefs back like: honesty, courage, faith, rule of law, personal responsibility, hard work, etc. Maybe God is waiting for us to have faith before he delivers justice.

  12. rickb928 says:

I understand the ‘outrage trap’ concept, and its application here.

Yes, the most important point is to focus on the origin of this – that the Obama administration and/or Clinton campaign created, out of whole cloth, a false narrative of Trump involvement with Putin. From there all the actions are ‘justifiable’, but since this false narrative is itself a deceit and a lie, all the results should be discarded. And since the results culminate in the Mueller report, and that shows nothing actionable, all that can be literally ignored.

Except that it shows continuing, for years, illegal (based on the original false narrative) activity. When we trace it back to the origin, we see the first criminal activity, an unprecedented (so far as we now know) effort by a sitting President and Presidential candidate, to influence a campaign, using the DOJ, FBI, and most if not all of the IC. Which is at least criminal.

If this is all proven, the least consequence should be holding the Clinton campaign liable for the implicit campaign finance law violations, with exposure and compensation for ‘in-kind’ assistance (I know, a nasty way of saying it) that would likely number in the hundreds of millions. Fines and such. Then work through charging the perps, denying them future government work, and sadly risking their pensions. Their wives and children will suffer. But the nation is on the verge of permanent damage because of this, and the full weight of the law isn’t actually enough.
