Put Up, or Shut Up? Well, 137 House Democrats Voted Against Impeachment…

For the first official time since taking control over the House of Representatives, today the Democrats in the House had their first official opportunity to vote on a resolution to impeach President Donald J Trump.

This impeachment vote is what all of the most vocal political opponents have been asking for.  This impeachment vote is what CNN, MSNBC and MSM panelists have been advocating for since November 2018.  This is what every democrat presidential candidate has supported.  This was the put-up or shut-up moment the far-left has been diligently working toward.  Yes, it finally came; this was their moment.

So what happened:

137 Democrats and 194 Republicans voted the kill the resolution.

HERE’S The VOTE

Resist we much?

I THINK this was simply a continuation of the battle for control of the caucus.
Pelosi, Schiff, etc. old guard have their carefully orchestrated PLAN.
They have 6 committees, having HEARINGS, all designed, orchestrated and layed out with MOU’s, and changes to House rules.

Each targeting different areas for investigation, to gradually build up a drum beat for Impeachment.

The young turks are sayin “F that! We been waiting 2 1/2 years, lets do it NOW!”

Pelosi SAID she didn’t want to do it this way, but she either had no choice, or allowed this as an object lesson to the young turks.

Those who voted against were, in effect supporting Nancy. Those who voted FOR, supporting the AOC squad.

Schiff is heavily invested in the PLAN, as are Nadler, etc. So now, the line is drawn, and sides picked.

Those who voted with the squad should know Nancy won’t forget or forgive, and she has many ways to exact retribution.

This vote today was simply a continuation of the fight between the AOC wing, vs. the Pelosi wing.

So, copy that list of votes. Those who voted “for” were sticking their thumb in Nancys eye, and she won’t forget.

Of COARSE Schiff and Nadler voted against. They are ‘with’ Nancy, and heavily invested in “the PLAN”; well coordinated and orchestrated, with 6 committees holding hearings on various aspects of Trump, gradually leading up to a vote to impeach.

When free-spending power seekers on these more local level have such persons within Congress with which they can be compared, these local ones suddenly become more palatable. It is a normalization and acceptance process that is being amped up and is hazardous.

AOC is merely parroting this wrong thinking. The whole notion of PC goes directly against the concept of “the marketplace of ideas”, foundational to free speach.

Once the gained acceptance of cencorship (pc) then they could introduce these wacky ideas, and use pc to prevent serious evaluation and rejection.
Hate crimes was another odious step in the process.

My friends in Utah tell me that most of the Republicans who actually went to the caucuses voted for Dr. Mike Kennedy. Those people knew Romney for the flip-flopper that he is and did NOT want him as Senator. He did a write-in to get on the ballot for the general, and got voted in because most Utah voters would just as soon vote for Satan as they would for a ‘Rat (thinking both are the same anyway.)

Romney is greatly disliked by the majority of politically aware Republicans in Utah and his office has been catching unshirted Hell from his Republican constituents for his constant criticism/derogation of President Trump. Romney has shown himself to be not only a flip-flopper, but an ungrateful and backstabbing one. His reputation has taken a very damaging hit among politically aware Reps, one from which it is not likely to recover.

In all honesty, I think a lot of Utah Republicans are hoping that Romney soon develops serious health problems sufficiently debilitating enough to force him to vacate the seat.

They still don’t get it when he says something nice about someone that he is really saying that person is a NO, and now that he is blunt they are desperate and afraid of more of their criminal acts in DC and in their home states coming out in the open and where do they hide or run to? How many of us were taught to be honest and forthright and not steal, lie, cover up, etc. and now we are seeing we were too nice to think that we hired/elected would do the dirty on us. He will probably be very careful so as not to be hauled off to prison or wherever just as he sent many to jail that were innocent.

  12. Oh, no, it’s far from “over” yet. Al Green’s resolution had no real substance, essentially saying that the President had committed the “high crime” of telling a Member of Congress to shut up. Her Majesty Hillary Clinton has ordered her minions since 2016 to “expel this President” and they will surely try again to do so.

Of course they should understand that you really can’t accuse anyone of “high crimes” when the Federal justice system has already declared that sufficient evidence does not exist to pursue a case when the Law is applied as it is actually written (versus what a couple of radical and self-serving lawyers are saying …), but if you are obsessed with something you really don’t listen to reason.

Robert’s Rules of Order are what are used for parliamentary debates. A vote to table is a vote delayed. They should have forced an up or down vote.

Well, we are awake now and it is so sad that those we thought were good people have turned out to be anything but. We hired/elected them because we believed or wanted to believe they were with us and not on their own selfish persons. They like being noticed while stealing your stuff. They deem themselves extra special and get big headed and then when found out don’t know what to do but try and bring down others. Well, thank God, they can do whatever but then comes the day of reckoning. Listening to the reporter and what he encountered is scary and if we let this continue then we deserve what the end result will be. Just a moment in time to see themselves relevant and they know they are only trying to convince their brainless voters that they are working for them. NOT! Whatever comes forth with the Mueller interrogation will have nothing to offer because he made it clear that Trump was not involved. Sad that he spent millions for nothing there instead of Hillary, but then he was for Hillary as well as most of the democrat attorneys “working” with him.

Even NH Kuster and Pappas voted to table, I was shocked but NH is a purple state, almost completely blue except for 2 yr term Republican Governor Sunununu. Completely forgot that Pappas, a male, beat out Shea-Porter, a female in district 1. They are definitely trying to win another democrat term. No way, MAGA-KAG 2020.

This is a tactical mistake. Why would the Dems take a series of show votes for impeachment prior to their big show trial featuring Mueller and Wiseman? I’m expecting a no show for the Mueller testimony anyway ; the delay is not a good sign. Geez, this Democrat congress is on pace to accomplish less than the previous GOPe before them.

Folks, unless I read something incorrectly – this was a vote to “table” the motion, not an up or down vote on the motion. The actual vote therefore is just postponed – a standard parliamentary manouever when one doesn’t want anyone to know where one stands on the issue.
I’m surprised the Reps allowed for the tabling – bad mistake. I’d have voted to NOT table and then let the Dems show their true colors.

Please someone correct me if I’m wrong – by stating the actual congressional record on the vote (not the full record, but just the excerpt that shows what was being voted on.)

Yes from a procedural point of view you are correct. Yet, if Ronna McDaniel was actually interested in winning in 2020 well as supporting President Trump, she could turn this into a major tactical defeat for the democrats by loudly replaying all the public statements by democrat leadership, msm talking heads and celebrities who publicly stated, “anybody providing support to President Trump is a racist and enabler”.

This is a great opportunity to hoist the democrats on their own petard, for minority community consumption. Heck, President Trump should invite the CBC members to the Oval office for a talk as their own party has abandoned them

It is suspected it will die on the table as an easy way to kill it and not embarrass yourself by voting on it again until maybe after the 2020 election if you re-elected. I know from experience that if on the table for a long length of time, it gets forgotten as things change enough to forget it.

There was a short clip from Nancy’s presser today. She was very conciliatory toward Al Green but said the timing was not right. She said that there are six committees that need to finish their work to establish the facts they will need.

Nancy wants a conviction, doesn’t she?

The committee hearings will be used to sway senators and the American public to take out Trump. Al Green himself said that he wants Trump to be impeached to make him less likely to be re-elected. IMO, that would be ditto for the Freedom Caucus.

I don’t see today’s proceedings as cause to break out in a happy dance over the collapse of the Dimm party. Nancy and the Swamp have bigger plans when they do pull the trigger.

My take is that the Dems know impeachment is now a completely failed strategy, so “going there” would be nonsensical and, ultimately, very embarrassing to them. Further, I think many moderate Dems, and even leftists who aren’t on the same bus with Green, the four *******, Waters, Nadler, et. al, did not want the psycho members of their party to exert any dominance and cost them votes at home in 2020.

Yes, the vote was to “table” the motion, but IMO the current impeachment gambit is now dead as a mesquite fence post.

Moreover, the vote dealt a severe blow, perhaps a fatal one, to the credibility of the entire Mueller charade.

All things considered, I see today as a huge win for the President and a colossal failure for the Dems. The msm will have to spin this so hard they puke.

  41. Fundamentally, the Democrats’ problem is that the Department of Justice concluded that the evidence (sic …) does not justify indictment for any crime at all – “high” or otherwise. There is no criminal statute addressing “collusion,” and when the statutes concerning “obstruction” are applied as they are by the Department of Justice, there is no case.

But the Democrats have been “breathing the ‘air'” of a clever law firm that calls itself “Lawfare.” Even though the responsible public official – the Attorney General of the United States – dismissed their theories as being “not the standards that we use,” the Lawfare people know that they can bill gullible Members of Congress for telling them what they earnestly want to hear.

The Founders of our Constitution carefully apportioned powers among the three Branches and stipulated that none could “borrow” from the other. They purposely denied “law enforcement” power to the Legislature. They also purposely said that impeachment could only derive from “high crimes and misdemeanors,” reinforcing their clear intention by going on to say that the impeached party would then face criminal charges. But the obvious problem in this case is that the accused would face no criminal charges at all. Donald Trump never stepped into the “obstruction trap” that laid open for him for 22 months. He is an innocentman.

The Founders consciously removed the term “maladministration” from their draft of the impeachment clause, and talked on-the-record at great length about their designs in putting “high crimes and misdemeanors” in its place. But apparently the present crop of Democrats neither know nor care anything about this.
